A man walked on to the stage, before the many members of the press who had been awoken in the middle of the night, to attend this unscheduled press conference. "The President will be out shortly, he is meeting with the Council for Public Safety, to devise a strategy to attack this issue," the man said. Moments later, President Jeff Melton walked out onto the stage, and delivered a short statement.

Over the past year, the number of bicycle related accidents in this nation have quadrupled, this, it has been determined, is due to the fact that more people than ever are riding they're bikes to work instead of driving. After meeting with my advisers, I have determined that the best course of action is to ban the use of bicycles in urban areas. Executive order PS-111, which I have just signed, officially bans the use of bicycles in urban areas. We believe this action will lead to greater improvement in the overall health of our nations citizens, and also a reduction in traffic, as lanes that were formerly reserved for bicycles will now be opened up to motor vehicle traffic. I will now take questions from the press, concerning Executive order PS-111, and this entire situation.

Jim Johnson stood in amazement. He was a reporter at a local newspaper company and an avid bike rider. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Mr. President wouldn't that just make people want to ride bikes illegally?"

"Yes, but the same argument could be said about it being illegal to rob banks, or kill people. This is necessary for the safety of our citizens. Also, it is very difficult to ride a bike through a crowded city with out being seen."

(OOC: Jim Johnson? interesting name, just came to you?)
