Hello. Today's thread shall be a sci-fi feature set in the 23rd century. Next post will give an idea of the rp's setting, and this is where I'll post some stuff you may want to know:

-Knowing the motivation of Crnos Coronon will be restricted to the person roleplaying Ouranos for players to discover as they play along.
-You cannot have power equal to that of the Ouranons. You can rival them however, just not a weapong equivalent of "The Sickle". (Fancy way for saying, no god-modding)
-The rp will begin when there is someone to play as Gaea, Ouranos, Priam remnants, and one or two free systems.
-If you're signing up as a Free System and want to be an alien race or anything of the like, you may feel free to do so.

April 3, 2147 C.E. (0 H.E. (Human Era))- Terraformation of Mars is complete, mankind begins its first steps to conquering the stars.
August 17, 14 H.E.- To begin its days of brotherhood, humanity creates the Gaean Republic, the first united human power.
25 H.E.- The people of the Ouranos system settle and begin to claim their right for an independent nation. The Gaean Republic rejects all claims in hope of making sure that systems do not begin to break away from the Republic.
31 H.E.- The “Gaean Civil War” begins, as Ouranos wages war on Gaea for independence. Fond support of both sides results in a lengthy war.
46 H.E.- The war takes a turn when the planet Priam is discovered, as the sole known planet carrying Idium, an element capable of supplying mechanical objects for 10 years.
48 H.E.- The bloodiest battle in human history, the “Struggle for Priam” causes some soldiers to question the meaning of the war. General Joshua Reidenfield defects from the Gaean military to begin his own nation. A third faction is created in the war, known as the “Priam Defecates” is created out of a joint coalition of Gaean and Ouranon soldiers and humans desiring an end to the conflict. Years of negotiations follow.
51 H.E.- War ceases with the creation of the Principality of Priam. Being the sole planet in man’s charted universe to produce the Idium, and swearing allegiance to both sides allows Priam to become a financial power in dealing Idium. Both Republics and the Principality become subjects of the “Treaty of Priam” where no nations will engage war with one another risking their sovereignty.
53 H.E.- Gaea reluctantly adopts a policy to allow star systems form their own governments and that their independence should be recognized if they are able to support themselves. Some are created as puppets to make sure Ouranos does not expand its influence to other star systems.
54 H.E.- Joshua Reidenfield is assassinated in his visit to Gaea capital Earth. Group behind the attack and motivations are still unclear to this day.
60 H.E.- A cult appears in Ouranos known as The Followers of the Fury, claiming creation from the war between Ouranos and Gaea. They are a group of zealots with the belief that humanity can be united by destroying the “Cradle”, a lost planet where it is said the God of Humanity resides. The cult is small at first, but begins to grow at a fair pace.
97 H.E.- More than half of the Ouranon Republic are Followers of the Fury, an event that concerns some non-followers, but very few, if any of the leaders in the Republics. Stating that the cult has no ability to destroy a planet, there is no worry to be had.
101 H.E.- President Octarius is assassinated by members of the Followers of the Fury. The events are mostly ignored by the Gaean Republic, but motivate a handful of the Free Systems to keep an eye on them. The election of Minister Chairman Nanci Kerron is met with satisfaction from Gaea as she promises strong leadership for as many terms she serves.
102 H.E.- Crnos Coronon is elected as leader of the Ouranon Republic, and makes a swift referendum, he presents a constitution creating the Holy Ouranon Empire with the intent goal of finding the “Cradle” and destroying it, thus the beginning of the “Ouranon Crusade”. The Gaean Republic is more concerned about the sudden change and begins building defenses should conflict become a result.
Day 31 of 103 H.E.- The planet of Priam is destroyed by Ouranos’s fabled super-weapon “Sickle”. The move is condemned by the Gaean Republic and the Minister Chairman, and says that Ouranos must surrender its sovereignty. The new Ruler of Ouranos refuses this and declares war on Gaea by destroying several diplomatic Gaean vessels and battleship escorts.
Day 41 of 103 H.E.- Day 160 of 105 H.E.- Battles in the Free Systems are held, many free nations perish under Ouranos’ Sickle and Gaea deposes many suspected of supporting Ouranos. Ouranos is only a few systems away from being able to breach into Gaean territory. Ouranos has begun its final advances to finish its crusade to destroy the “Cradle”.

Founded on a large earth like planet in the Titan system the Federated commonwealth hailed it self as a place for all to live free from war, oppression and injustice of other systems. Since it's founding there had been several mass migrations to the Federated commonwealth from other systems. These migrations have been attributed to civil conflicts in the surrounding systems. As some conflicts got close to home the government in 77 H.E. abandoned its pacifist ideals and created the Federated Commonwealth Self Defense Forces (FC-SDF). This force was support by the people and many initially joined, at the same time business's and individuals contributed money to get the near non existent defense industries up to speed to equip the defense forces. Industries then slowly began equipping these forces as training got under way for those who initially signed up. Ten years later in 87 H.E. the Self Defense Forces were almost completely equipped and patrols of the system became regular. By 94 H.E. the FC-SDF was fully ready to deal with any problem to arise in there space.

Well I actually cut and pasted from another factbook and it was something I forgot to take out. It will be someting needed for the war though, as Gaea and Ouranos will try to gain favor of various systems or destroy them. A little history would be nice as well.
