The Order of the White Hand

"Long ago the human race was born from the belly of the earth, from the kindness of Morthoc, our immaculate God of Light, the representative of all that is good, of all that is holy... of all that is pure. Morthoc created the human race to fight the demons of darkness, to combat the filth and plague that had overtaken the universe. Disease, death and destruction had conquered all the galaxies and dimensions, and in a last attempt to save all that was good, holy, pure, our Lord Morthoc created our kind, casting in ivory The Book. The Book was written to guide humanity throughout its course of existence, to help it maintain its pure principles upon which it was founded - for humanity was given free will, so it, with its vast innovation and ingenuity, would not be corrupted by the filth that surrounded it in the universe. However this ideal, this ideal of a world of good, could only be maintained for so long. The vices of corruption, greed, gluttony, sodomy, plague, incest and other evil mutations infiltrated the world, and began to slowly corrupt the human race, transforming them from a society of good, into a putrid ses pool of filth and disease. Many centuries later, the Order of the White Hand has emerged to defend the last remnants of all that is good against the merciless hordes of darkness - which threaten to destroy the last glimmer of civilization. Make no mistake Exemplars - you are the last hope for us. Not only for your people, not even for your country... you, my fine, glorious warriors - you are the last hope for all the world."
~High Patriarch Maxenom Upon the Final Ordination of the 7th Exemplar Legion
Origins
The Order of the White Hand was founded in 1474 by a radical priest of the God of Light, Morthoc in the Ancient City of Ugathor on the sunken isle of Haztolp. Though the founder's true name has long been lost in the annals of history, there is some information that is still known of him - some fact, some legend. The scribes of ancient Haztolp record that the man, known as 'Orodos' (Kroandon for Priest, or Father) lived in the city of Fegas, a place known for its rampant culture of incest, sodomy, alcoholism, rape, gluttony, corruption and disease. The documents claim that Orodos's niece was a raped and murdered in the year 1473, a niece that was very close to the man's heart. From then on out, Orodos recruited the ultra-conservative and religious of Ugathor to his sides, and began on a rampage of murder and destruction. Homosexuals, prostitutes and rapists were lynched, usually burned at the stake. If time was scare, they were of course hanged. Brothels and bars were burned to the ground. Politicians were pulled from their houses, their mistresses and all, and burned at the center of the city for all to see.
It was then that Orodos ordered that the slums of the city be burned, and for all those whom claimed to be pure, to put themselves up to the Commission. The Commission was comprised of the most dedicated, extreme members of the Orodos' following - only 30% of the slums passed the tests... the rest were cleansed in mass burnings. Those whom did pass, were stamped with a white hand - thus giving the order its name. Before long the entire city was either up in arms supporting Orodos, or burning. The local prince had abdicated, the city was under the Priest's control. It was not until 1478 when an alliance of local lords amassed an army to retake the city for the prince, and defeated Orodos' army in open combat. The city was taken, the people persecuted, and the old nobility restored. However this was not the end of the Order.
Since Then
The Order went under ground, an Order of Knights dedicated to fighting corruption, immorality and filth where ever it existed across Haztolp. When the island of Haztolp sunk under the oceans, and the Kroandon people fled to Antarctika, the Order followed. The temple built in Scolar was one of the first temples built in the new world, and still stands to this day - housing the Book of Light. Over time, the Order of the White Hand became one with the religious order worshiping Morthoc. As Kroando continued through history, through the period of the Dictatorship, the Union of Terra, and the Koaltion, the Order sat and watched in disgust as the country rotted from within.
Kroando was then attacked in a revolutionary coup launched by the Order which destroyed the existing government and devastated the country. It was here that CL-666 was dubbed 'Morthocs Breath' by Viceroy Avicon [ruling on Earth for the God Morthoc]. CL-666, a chemical gas designed to eliminate a plague that was ravaging Kroando, had some interesting side effects. It caused the human body to lose all pigment in the skin, go bald, bleed at the gums daily, and gain a odd yellow tint to the eye ball. It was then decided by the High Patriarch that this would be the new 'white hand of the order' - used to mark those whom were good and pure enough to exist on earth. Avicon and Maxenom also agreed to attempt a reform aspect to the order, designed to give a chance to the corrupted. Those whom did not pass the test of the Commission would then be put through a program. If they passed, they would ingest the CL-666 and become members of the new order. If they failed... incineration.
As Kroando was rebuilt, and the people thereof deemed pure, the Order of the White Hand looked out to the rest of the world, gritting its teeth as the filth and decadence infested Morthoc's pure earth and rotted the planet out from the core. The Order would change this...
