It was a cloudy and chilly day in the city of Newcastle; and Jane Mauntell had just woken up from a gentle and comfortable period of sleep to the sound of the radio on her alarm clock. Rubbing her eyes briefly, she got out of her bed and groggily walked to the bathroom to freshen up; wanting to look presentable for the day ahead of her since it would be the day she would be going to Ruccola to film the next episode of her new show and she was anxious to get there so she could start filming and seeing all the sights. Traveling had always motivated Jane ever since she was a little girl in Shetlandshire; she had always wanted to go traveling and see all the sights and hear all the sounds. That's why she started her shows; so she could kindle similar dreams in the hearts of the viewers. To her, traveling was enlightening; a way to learn about one's surroundings in their own way. Shedding her nightgown to replace it with some warm clothes for the day, Jane Mauntell ate her breakfast, freshened herself up, and then got into her luxury car after a brief conversation with her childhood friend and assistant Thomas Porter who was from a family of wealthy commoners but who was also the heir to his father's baronetcy. Thomas had known Jane since they were kids in Shetlandshire; back in the good old days of cartoons, sandwiches and juice boxes. It was not too hard for her, Jane thought, to remember the large oak tree on the hill that she and Thomas often visited. Shetlandshire was a place with much natural beauty and Jane was always attached to it; she was a true Shetlander.

At the airport, Thomas Porter was waiting for Jane to arrive while he organized the camera crew to make sure that they had everything with them; making sure nothing was forgotten. After a while Jane had finally arrived; greeting Thomas with a smile and quick embrace before they all got onto their first class seats in the plane to Ruccola. In the plane, Jane was busy reading a magazine while Thomas looked over a guidebook about Ruccola. It took them about a day or two to reach Ruccola and that made Jane all the more eager and anxious to arrive.

After landing, Thomas, Jane and the camera crew all organized themselves at one part of the airport; setting up the cameras and preparing to film the first scene. Jane smiled and began to speak nearly enthusiastically. "Greetings, viewers! This is Around the World and I am your host, Jane Mauntell! We're here in the beautiful nation of Ruccola so stay with us, friends, as we take a look into this wonderful land!"

OOC: My next post will have them going to the first landmark; I'll let you post a Ruccolan person's response to all of this, Ruccola.

"Ms. Mauntell?!?" A young woman who looked about twenty years old approached Jane and her camera crew, her eyes widened with surprise and excitement.

"Welcome to Ruccola! I've been watching your show ever since I first visited my cousins in Anglia three years ago." The woman couldn't believe that she was seeing such a famous celebrity before her and was giddy with delight.

"What brings you all the way here to our fair country? Oh, and could I have your autograph please?" She took out a paper pad and pen from her rucksack and politely offered them to Jane.

Jane Mauntell smiled as she listened to the enthusiastic young woman; it had always been nice to speak with her fans and get to know them better rather than merely accepting their praise before returning to her townhouse. "Thank you for your welcome. I am glad that you have been watching my show; tell me, what did you think of it?"

Jane smiled more brightly now as she began making an autograph for the young woman. "I am here in Ruccola because I am filming an episode for my new show, Around the World, in which I travel to other nations in order to bring the world to the average Anglian."

"Thank you for your welcome. I am glad that you have been watching my show; tell me, what did you think of it?"
"I absolutely adore it!" the young woman beamed. "It's my favourite travel show... I love the way you interact with the people you encounter in each episode, and the way you showcase the sights you visit. It's so comprehensive!"

Jane smiled more brightly now as she began making an autograph for the young woman. "I am here in Ruccola because I am filming an episode for my new show, Around the World, in which I travel to other nations in order to bring the world to the average Anglian."
Hearing this, the woman nearly fainted with happiness. She shrieked in excitement, exclaiming, "Oh my gosh! I've been dreaming of the day when you'd come and make an episode here! I am so honoured that you picked our country as one of your first destinations..."

OOC: Is Jane Mauntell a good cook? :D

Jane smiled. "I'm really glad to hear you say that. It's always been my attention to show the average Anglian the many sights and sounds of their nation if they are unable to see them in person."

"I am sure that your nation has many landmarks which will be a pleasure to see and that there will be plenty of friendly people such as yourself. By the way, here is your autograph and do you know what is the nearest landmark? What would you recommend me seeing first?"

"Thank you," smiled the woman, "it's been a joy to encounter you, Ms. Mauntell!" She paused for a split second, musing which attraction she should direct Jane to first.

"There's a medieval castle called Castel Sant'Agostino on the way to Arugula. It was built in the thirteenth century to defend the western approach into the city. You definitely won't miss it, as it stands on a small hillock and is visible for miles. If you climb to the top of the keep, you'll even be able to see the skyline of Arugula fifteen kilometres away."

With that, the woman extended her hand to bid Jane goodbye. "I wish you all the best in your travels, Ms. Mauntell!"
