[OOC: Basically, a Volvo-like automaker is expanding overseas. This is a thread for your governments and automakers to react, and then for maybe a bit of strategic RPing between said automakers.]

(Avisronian News Corporation) Avisronia, Avisron -- The Chief Executive Officer Rich Falconer of Cavalt Corporation announced today that the company was seeking to "aggressively expand international business outreach."

According to Falconer, the industrial giant has amassed a fortune of cash reserves by making smart investments in highly efficient manufacturing, specialized industry, and good relations with its Avisronian supply network.

Cavalt Corporation was founded in 1962 and has grown to hold a national-high 34% of the Avisronian automobile sector. Since its inception, the Cavalt brand has stood for safety, efficiency, and luxury. Filling a strange niche between entry level and higher-end luxury, the brand has achieved massive success by allowing an in house financing arm to extend loan durations to a length which drove monthly payments into a more affordable range.

The company, however, has seen its share of bad times, too. In the late 80s and early 90s, rumors circulated that the company had received subsidies from a foreign government to undercut a domestic rival in marketplace. Investigations uncovered a scandal in which the foreign government had looked to "get back" at the leaders of several large labor unions. The resulting public outrage resulted in the company withdrawing from the market.

It remains to be seen exactly what the companies next move is, but the CEO has hinted that he wants to move abroad to challenge larger, more luxurious automakers. This could spark a turnaround in the Avisronian economy, which has grown stagnant in recent years and is falling behind increasing population growth.

The Allied States of Gun Manufacturers would like to suggest you purchase land on one of our Five Fingers Islands. The price per square acre is $4 million for industrial zoned land, and there is plenty of it available. If you want to build a dealership to accompany the factory, commercial zoned land is less expensive at $2.7 million per square acre, and if you're looking at housing for your workers, residential zoned land is available for $2 million per square acre. These prices may seem high, but this is prime real estate, with easy access to overseas shipping.
