OOC: This is the beginning of the Globe Trekkers RP; I request that only Mephras and I post in this. Consider the Sign-Up thread to be the OOC thread as well. If Mephras is unable to participate for some reason then Jane will visit the next nation on the list and so forth in that order.

Waking up from the quiet and comfortable slumber of the previous night, Jane Mauntell (http://www.abc.net.au/reslib/200803/r236623_953281.jpg) listened to the radio built in her alarm clock as she changed from her nightgown into suitable clothes for the sunny and somewhat hot weather of the day. She approached this particular with an aura of joy as today would be the day that she would go to Mephras to film the first episode of her show, Around the World, which was recieved by a local television network with much trepidation. Living in a townhouse as one of Anglia's foremost television personalities and millionaries, Jane Mauntell had always been thankful for the blessings she had recieved in life. At first she was merely a girl from Shetlandshire but now she was a wealthy woman with plenty of admirers. She was quite beautiful and she surprised some people when she said that she wasn't in a relationship of any sort although some tabloids and fans often stated that she was having a secret love affair with her assistant, Thomas Porter, who had been one of her closest friends since childhood. Thomas often managed Jane's camera crew and helped her with finances and transportation. His duties on her new show would not be different at all. Thomas, at his own house which was quite expensive to have purchased, had been preparing to get the camera crew and Jane to take them to the airport. He called Jane after breakfast; telling her to meet him at the airport. It did not take long for everyone to meet there. They got their first class seats and then went aboard the plane. Jane sat next to Thomas and spent her time talking about how anxious and eager she was to be in Mephras.

When the plane finally landed on Mephrasian soil, Jane and Thomas organized the camera crew to set up shop at one of the terminals of the airport before, Jane, smiling and enthusiastically speaking, began filming the first scene of the first episode of the show with people walking in the background. "Greetings! This is Jane Mauntell, host of the new television show Around the World where I take you, the viewer, to the sights and sounds of the nations of the world! Come along as we take a stroll through the landmarks of Mephras!"

"Cut." Thomas softly said before the whole team began to move; Thomas had luckily been able to rent a car for the team's use and he was able to find it with ease. Now, he needed to locate the hotel he reserved rooms in. While he drove the rental car towards the hotel, he listened to Jane's music from her MP3 player which she brought with her from Anglia. He stared at her at times; he had a deep respect for his friend and if was not love than it was something as sincere as love. Jane, busy looking out the window, did not notice that her assistant was trying to restrain himself from looking at her. He may not had any love for her at the moment but he would do what he could to protect her and help her no matter what the situation was.

Redmond Worth stood in the lobby of the Euphova New Garden Hotel, noted as one of the most prestigious in the country. Gilded chandeliers hung from the coffered ceilings, which were themselves painted with murals depicting scenes of Mephrasian history. As he looked down at his watch,he caught a quick glimpse of his reflection in the recently polished marble floor, which stretched the length of the lobby, only covered by the finest of rugs in the small arranged seating areas laid out methodically in the space. The mix of furniture was somewhat eclectic although unified through its opulence. Rare woods mixed with silk cushions and golden gilding, making the lobby seem more like a reception room of a palace than that of a hotel.

As affluent visitors moved throughout the lobby, Redmond felt more than a bit out of place, unshaven and in his jeans and tee shirt. He had only woken three hours earlier when the Foreign Ministry called with this assignment, perfectly harmless for an unlucky intern such as himself. He reached for the pack of cigarettes in his pocket, halting only as he noticed the gilded NO SMOKING sign in front of the check in desk. Hopefully this crew will be here soon and we can at least get out on the road. All that was required of him was to act as a simple tour guide and chauffeur, dumping them at interesting sights, and possible offering a bit of commentary if needed.

He had seen the show a few times, but was not an avid fan, but the ministry had been on a recent PR run, trying to promote the country as much as possible. The tourism industry had always performed well, but recently Mephras had begun to receive a reputation as "free and fun," a bit to "free" for the ministry's liking. Redmond agreed it was great country, but was also aware of his failings. That was another part of his job, steering the crew away from some of the less desirable areas of the city. It wasn't extremely hard in the central capital, but nevertheless, he had to be on guard. Despite being called in on his day off, he figured he'd make the most of it.

OOC: Jane will visit the next nation due to Mephras being offline for the week or so. This thread is on pause until he is able to get posting again.
