Operation: Corporate Disassembly (Semi-Closed, ATTN DT, Hegemony, Questers, TFU)
Lord Sumguy

OOC: Ill post an ORBAT sometime tomorrow, or possibly saturday.
Deployment has yet to begin. I may edit this later to make it better.
Office of the Hegemon, Sumguaia:
Lord Sumguy stood in his office looking out a window at the sunset as it fell over the buildings of Sumguaia, pondering what he had just done. And so we shall make our first strike against a foe. We shall destroy this evil, crush it utterly. And from the ashes of a nation's folly shall arise a new beginning, a second chance. We shall destroy, that we may re-create the 'Deserted Territories', and it shall shine in glory far surpassing that of any it has yet experienced. The Deserted Territories can be a great and noble nation. I shall help them to be so, but first the corruption must be eliminated.
______________________________________________________________________
Official Hegemonic Declaration:
For too long the Corporate Alliance has been let to run loose among the world, free to satiate its unending greed by gorging itself upon the resources of those weaker than itself, destroying anything in its path and doing anything needed to satisfy it's hunger. This cannot be allowed to continue, while there exist upon this earth those able to stop such an abomination.
One such nation within the Corporate Alliance, the Deserted Territories, has gone so far as to attack military forces of Alfegos, a Hegemony member, that were defending the sovereignty of the state of Shovercia. The Hegemony can not stand by and allow this attack upon us to go unanswered. Therefore from this point there exists a state of war between the Hegemony and the Deserted Territories until such a time as the government of the Deserted territories has been overthrown or a surrender agreement reached. All Hegemonic States are authorized to commence offensive operations against the military forces of the Deserted Territories.
To create a better peace, we shall make war.
Lord Sumguy, Hegemon

As the last sliver of red that was the sun disappeared over the horizon, the Hegemon began to laugh.

OOC: The irony of all this is that Alfegos attacked Deserted Territories first. And then the Hegemony attacked DT first, and without cause.
Remember what I said about bloodythirst imperialists? The imperialism of anti-imperialism, indeed.
Deserted Territories

The Grand Vizor was a very suspicous and paranoid individual and it wasn't long after he overthrew the Sultan that he set up procedures in response to invasion. Although the Vizor was away at peace talks in Wiskeasy a pre-recorded statement went over all channels in Deserted Territories.
"Citizens of Deserted Territories: As we all knew would someday happen again, DT finds itself in the sights of a group of nations devoted to doing "good." Many are smaller than ourselves, some are bigger, but together they pose a significant threat to our homeland. But they do not live in the desert, and they will not find themselves welcomed in it. Even the scorpions and snakes will descend upon them when they sleep, the winds will whip the unforgiving sands into their faces, and the fierce DT sun will dry their water up to nothing. Whether these nations have seen extreme cold, terrible humidity or any other natural maladie whist in war I can guaruntee they have never expierience a battle in the heat of our sun. Their sweat will cloud their eyes and when we descend upon them they will weep and beg for mercy and a drink. But neither of these will they find in the desert...
Shortly after sirens in the three large ports on the western coast (Mirage, Dune Sea Metropolis, and Oasis) sounded the evacuation of all civilians to the interior. Cruise ships departed the southenmost Oasis with tourists and all natives boarded bullet trains, busses, and thier own cars that took the three inland transportation arteries across the desert to the east where the next civilaization was found in the splendid metropolises of the fertile eastern border. All sixteen lanes were opened for the evacutaion. Soon military trains, planes and then trucks once the civilians escape would bring in the military to hold the coast for as lond as possible. Shore guns nesteled in concrete bunkers hidden by dunes all along the coast were manned and ready. Shore to ship missiles were prepped and armed. Across the desert, secret silos hidden beneath the sands prepared for retaliation. The DT's curent navy consisted of a single Bismark class battleship and two Pacitalia class galleons, all three stationed at Mirage. The coast guard operated a variety of gun boats out of all three ports that began patrolling the coast alond with the nations compliment of F-35s and Blizzard fighters. The CAPTOR mine picket activated.
The lawless desert was also soon alive with frenzied preparation as extremely nationalistic desert nomads and greedy outlaws recieved the Vizors warning over radios and made ready to get their share of the fight.
When the Vizor had been informed of the situation he only thought to himself, "I hope they are ready for what lies ahead of them."

OOC: here we go
IC:
"Load up those Foxes ASAP, this is the marines, it is our duty to kick ass and lay waste. We cannot let the army or the fly boys show us up. Do you get me?"
"We get you sir!"
Sergeant Major Zachary Rodriguez stood over his Company of marines making sure everything went smoothly. Currently they were in charge of loading the Humvees and Foxes onto the Canberra class amphibious assault ships. They were packing them in tight and strapping them down for the ride towards the Deserted Territories, a Griffincrest ally that needed to be taken down. Rumor had it that the majority of the nation was desert, which to this Mejican Native, meant a nice familiar feeling when conquering the enemy. How they managed to get 4 billion people into a large desert the Sargent may never know, but one thing was for sure, the marines would see the most combat ever in their history on in this war. Five division would lead the spearhead into the desert, once they got hold of ground and space, or even better an airport. The army would come in, and then the war would be on. With Greal and Sumguaian forces on the charge as well, they would at the minimum cost them enough to focus on the home front.
"Sir the last of the vehicles are loaded up!"
"Good, get to the ship, our company is done for the night, we will leave in 4 hours."
"Aye Aye sir!"

(OOC: I've got a virus so I'll be slow to post for a day or two. Bear with me.)
Orlock, Cazelia
DRC Base 47
A force of 400,000 Men stood at attention, all in full combat uniform. These men had been through the worst over the past 20 years, and were some of the most disciplined men in the world. Each Battalion was led by a Colonel Commissar; A man that was used to make sure no men fell out of line-or else.
That night was particlarly cold and dark; although it was not anything special because Orlock has always been...Well, dark and cold. But that night, it was special; It was the last cold these men would feel for a long time, even though their advanced combat uniforms could re-direct cold water around the suit much like suits astronauts wore. The reason for this was that soldiers fight better when they are comfortable.
A rather strong General in his late 40's stood up on top of a CZ5A1 and began his speech
"Soldaten of the Cazatan Republik! You time for glory is here! Tonight, we celebrate on our ships! But soon, I tell you, we will be killing the enemies of the Demokratische Republik! We will tear their skulls from their worthless bodies! They have for too long gone without an ass-kicking from the Marineinfanteriekorps or the Volks-Armee! Soon, my Brüder, we will face these enemies on their homeland instead of our allies! The blood will be ours for the taking!"
He raised his rifle into the air, enciting a cheer that could be heard for miles around
~Official Communique~
The DCR declares itself in support of Lord Sumguy's decision. From this day until your surrender, Cazelia will be at war with the Deserted Territories.

To answer Mal's question: I've never really hard-statted Banshees (I r teh sux0rz at aerospace engineering), but it's basically a souped-up (larger engines and more armor) Osprey. The assault version that's being used here is armed with a chin-mounted GMG (used to fire off those gas 'nades) and a pair of M107's in door mounts. Not useful at all for anti-aircraft work, but reasonable for delivering troops into combat.
OOC: Wrong thread....xD

MNS Revolución, sister flagship of the Mokan Fleet, 600Km off the coast of Deserted Territories
Inside the command room of the MNS Revolución many Mokan commanders sat around the long oak table in the center of the room. On one wall was a screen with the map of the Deserted Territories, showing real time positions of known enemy fleets, military units, highway systems and other important objects in the nation. Currently Mokan assets were fighters in the air and UAVs patrolling the sea and getting close enough to the nation to pick up radar stations and other electronic targets. At the head of the table was Admiral Jorge Fernando, the commander for the entire operation, with the duty of keeping Mokastana's fleets safe and ground forces supplied. To his right was Generalissimo Yuri Gorbechov, a man who had seen much action in Greal and was finally leading a full scale war into a foreign nation. Other commanders sat waiting for the presentation of the formal plan of attack. The meeting was broadcasted to allied fleets using heavy encryption and direct signal techniques created by the MBSA. Which severely reduced the probability of interception.
"General Leon Tuner is here with the initial plans of attack."
"Commanders, I am General Leon Turner, head of the Marines of the Mokan Navy. The initial plan is as follows, each ally will strike at its respective beach head, north, middle or south. Depending on pre-decided attacks. We will be attacking the southern part of the nation, into the furtile and tough grounds of the south of the nation. Once the enemy navy has been pushed back enough we will make landing on these three islands to the south of the nation. They are primarily nature resorts but have military occupation forces there for security. This area will allow us to bring in missile systems and launch an attack froward into the heart of the nation. Currently UAVs are scanning the islands from afar to see what they have, however we will need to get closer to see what they truly have there, we have a satellite pass in 30 minutes which should give us a detailed idea for the intel guys to sort though so we know what we are getting into....."
OOC: aka bump, we are getting close, waiting for any interception

Enter the Continental Republic :
Several hours after the deployment of friendly forces, the congress of the republic had convened, it was a semi long session , the results had yielded a declaration of open hostilities between deserted territories and the United Continental Republic. It was broadcaster through open channels, as President Mark Sheppard stood in front of the camera, this older man with salt and pepper hair, brown eyes a skinny tall build and a toned face peered in to the video feed.
“Greetings and good morning my fellow republicans, today I have asked the Continental Congress to pass a resolution of hostility between the united continental republic and the Oppressive Deserted Territory's , I personally have asked the congress to do this to support our allies cazelia against these oppressive imperialist powers. How ever I ask you to accept these reasons for war and support our troops and our government to make the world safe for our people and for our form of government and to spread freedom through the world. This is all I can ask for and this is all I will ask for, thank you.. and have a good day..”
This small speech rang throughout the country, the massive continent that housed the UCR, and around the world, republican fleets and military might began to mobilize streams of mechanized units , infantry and heavy armor began boarding huge container ships, large C-140's , the news displayed a massive deployment of ships, from every port on the eastern seaboard of the UCR hundreds upon hundreds of ships began sailing and steaming out in to the crisp open sea followed by lines of massive troop filled container ships.
Admiral Richard Erickson stood upon the bridge of the UCS Nexus , the leader of the nexus class and pride of the Republican fleet, over six hundred and fifty meters of storage for over two hundred and fifty aircraft, several RAH-66 super Comanche and anti submarine UCAV;s , he stood upon the metal plated bridge deck looking at the copious amount of stations crewed by officers and enlisted men.. the massive carrier was in the middle of a massive 1500 ship armada, 40 of its sisters and brothers made up the center while guided missile cruisers massive six hundred meter leviathan, Guided missile destroyers , hundreds of Virgina and Ohio class subs escorting the carrier heavy force, aircraft stood by under the deck of the massive metal beasts, waiting for their time, as the ships made their way closer to the DT shores, it would take 12 hours to get there at high speed... but they were using that time to prepare for war, planes started to be fueled up troops briefed bombers from island and off shore bases began to be readied, C-140's filled with both para troopers, and regular troops would wait until the fleet was 6 hours out to deploy, so that aircraft could cover them. F-8 Super typhoons, F-17 Reapers and F-35 lightings all stood in rows of metal and power peering at each other lined up to move towards massive elevators to move them up to launching positions, the sun rose over the fleet, the ocean glimmered with blue and white caps, as ships sliced through its deep form, the metal armada demonic in its aura able to bring utter death and destruction to all that challenged it.
OOC: I'll have a post up tomorrow.

Deserted Territories
28-06-2008, 03:31
The Grand Vizier sighed, looking over the new list of hostile nations. "This thing is impressive," he said to his secretary. "Second only to Griffencrest's I think."
"You kid yourself, there are bigger players out there," she responded.
"Well certainly, but are any of them the target of an enraged international community right now? I think not."
"It's not like you're the first they're on everyones back for 'misbehavior,'" she laughed at him.
"True, I once saw a man being executed for j-walking in one of these nations," he looked over them with a puzzled expression as if he was really trying to remember which one it was. "That was back in my younger days, before I grew the 'stach," he stroked his thin, well-greased black mustache.
"You're a fool you know that?" she said, again with a laugh, as she walked out of his office.
He picked up the pen and paper set before him and inked out a notice to the coalition of forces geared against him:
To the Allies of Lord Sumguy and all affiliated Nations:
What dark times are these when one nation should become the focus of all the world's hate? What have the humble Deserted Territories citizens done to provoke this action? How can you justify what will happen to them? Surely you would not want your own citizens to undergo the experience of fighting a war on their own soil? What am I do say and do when my civilians call to me for help? I cannot think of what I will do when they are scrapping the bloody entrails of your fighting sons and daughters off their streets, joyously celebrating the victory they have won, discarding your kins bones in the sandy desert.
When you arrive in Deserted Territories you will not be met with the splendor of the legends you might have heard of our desert paradise. No sirs, you will be in for a much nastier surprise of ours. We are a proud people and do not take kindly to invasion. And with that in mind, you better send only your most battle-hardened soldiers for we will not pity any young soldiers who fall on their knees and beg for mercy. They can humble themselves in the hot sands all they please for they will only meet the swift heel of our boot in retribution for coming. You will rue the day you sent men here to be slaughtered, especially when their flesh is eaten away by the desert winds, leaving nothing for you to send back. Leave your body bags at home where they belong, for you will find no use for them here. The burden of cleaning up your dead will be left to use, for none of your own will remain to do this gruesome task.
Please, think not of yourselves: think of what we will go through.
Cordially,
The Grand Vizier of Deserted Territories
--
At the Oasis international airport on the western coast of DT two teens sat in a busy terminal filled with the remnants of the civilian population fleeing to the inland cities. Their flight boarded in a few hours but they had devised a game to pass the time.
The two stared intently at each other, the one named John was up first. "Bomb," he whispered, barely audible.
"Bomb," his friend Justin countered boldly stepping up to normal tones without delay.
"Bomb," John repeated even louder.
"Bomb," They were almost shouting at this point, but Justin had replied quickly without fear.
John eyed him hesitantly, and just when it seemed he was going to give up he shouted as two people crashed their baggage carts into each other: "Bomb!"
Nobody heard over the din.
"Impressive," Justin said. He knew the only way to continue now would be to holler it loud and clear across the hall full of guards.
"What's that I hear? Is that you giving up? I think it is, I think I've won," John quickly warmed up to his victory.
"Oh don't be so sure my friend," Justin countered, sucking in a lungful of air.
"Justin," John said worriedly, pointing a warning finger at his friend.
"BO- uff," Justin never got it out, a guards hand pushed firmly into his diaphragm. The incomprehensible bleep didn't even turn a head despite it carrying over the ambiance.
"Don't even think about it," The large black guard said releasing Justin but paralyzing both boys with his presence. "Now don't you two boys have somewhere to be?"
They nodded dumbly and made off smartly through the throngs of people.
"Dammit Jones, you couldn't think of a better way to handle that?" his partner said.
"Nope. Kid was about to shut down half the terminal. These people are the last civilians on the entire coast. In three hours they will be gone. If that kid had finished yelling we'd be here another 12 hours at least, never mind the headaches these people would give us. Defenses are already going up, in three hours we'll be able to repel whatever they throw at us."

Mokan Fleet, 100 Miles off the Coast of the island Chain...
"Birds are out searching the islands, these nature refuges as they call them. Either way they look as bad as the rest of the country. Satellite passed showed a lot of surface activity. Looks like they are doing a lot of evacuations and getting people replaced with soldiers. Either way we should probably start to do something now..."
"General Tuner, are you marines ready to strike?"
"We have been ready since we left port sir."
"Very well, get them ready to start landing on the island, you will be hitting the areas most defended, air support and missile strikes are at your command. However the primary target will be this airfield. I want your commanders to come up with a good plan to take it out quickly and effectively. Admiral, are the missiles ready?"
"Yes they are Generalissimo, I will commince initial bombardment once the marines are in place."
"General Turner, get into place."
30 minutes later...
From the fleets numerous ships the first volley of 300 LY589 Hellions (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13525984) took off towards preselected targets found by satellite or UAVs. Keeping them up to date with the Flagships information the Mokan fleet is confident of this initial missile strike, Knowing the intelligence and effectivness of this missile they expect to get information on more targets in the island chain as well as figure out how many more will be needed....
Meanwhile the first two Marine Flotillas are getting withing 40 miles of the closest island. Waiting to hear back from the missile strikes to attack...
A small boat came to a halt 30km off Deserted Territory waters. Whilst its insignia made it appear to be a neutral fishing boat, it was far away from those fertile grounds. The crew assembling on the deck were no fishermen, shown by the body armour all were clad in. And the large object slowly rising from the craft was definitely nothing to do with fishing.
The boat was a mobile observation post: the plethora of antennae and dishes now being raised near the stern indicated that. But its eyes were not conventional in the sense of surface RADAR and cameras.
What had been raised from within the ship was a stratellite: an airship designed for flight at extremely high altitudes. Whilst normally fitted with telecommunications equipment for civilian purposes, this was a military one: the two small domes on the underside of the cigar-shape craft painted a bluish-grey held a RADAR unit and a battery of cameras, covering visual, NIR and infra-red spectra. At only 30m long and 8m in diameter, it was relatively tiny, the only power it had for positioning provided by two ejecting thrusters that would boost it up to high altitudes where the effect of the stratospheric tides could be controlled by the small flaps on its sides.
Across the deck, a large pipeline was hauled over to the side of the craft: filled with hydrogen, it could fly at a high altitude, with fire hazard being relatively minuscule whilst flying a few tens of kilometres above the weather. The only clouds it found above it were the noctilucent clouds, though those were extreme rarities. And the cameras it carried could see straight through the rare clouds of the 'enemy' nations.
An order came as the rope was cut. The airship, now untethered, shot upwards at an alarming rate. The rush of air started the thrusters, which automatically angled downwards to add to the lift, feeding from small reservoirs of fuel. The dull craft became hard to see after a few seconds, the colour making it impossible to see against the sky. Eyes turned now to cleaning up the deck, and watching it through the sensors.
In the bridge, a diagram showed the stratellite reaching 2km altitude. Being in an arid area, there should be no weather to disturb its ascent. Already, sensory feeds were starting up, the cameras looking down at maximal zoom-out. The sea stretched out beneath, land creeping in at the edge of the picture. The radio beacon aided its ascent, the thrusters changing angle as the wind and ascent affected the craft's position above the surface. They had to rely on the airship signal broadcast to locate it: being a blimp, there was no structure to reflect RADAR material, the only items being the RADAR unit and cameras which had minimal signatures.
The controllers awaited, slightly bored, as it continued climbing: it would take another hour to reach operating height. Only then would they be able to start the data feed to the Hegemony.

(OOC: Those missiles are aimed at the Islands?)
Beneath the vegetation of the heavily fortified island, PAC-3 ERINT launchers loosed a way of ordnance at the approaching missiles. The next few minutes were frantic as explosions took place both high above where the PAC-3s hit their targets and on the fertile ground of the islands where some got through.
Dirt and tress were blasted away along with the machinery and other mobile platforms lying on the islands. The wildlife shrieked and called, frantic to escape the devastation.
Once reports had reached the commanders back on the mainland a counter-assault was conceived for the Mokastana ships, who had drawn dangerously close to DTs coastal defenses. Far closer than the New Manthian fleet that had launched a similar attack on DTs coast moments before.
100 RBS-15 mk. IVs hissed out of launchers across the three islands and in the nearby port Oasis. Taking a long-range trajectory towards the main Mokastan fleet 100 miles out.
The closer group of ships hadn't gone unnoticed either though. The extensive surveillance network DT had access to through its allies coupled with its own sensors had revealed them far ahead of time. 30 MM38 Exocet missiles left a group of launchers poised on the leading edge of the farthest island. A flight of 16 F-35s took off from Oasis at the same time, heading for the approaching flotilla, armed with AGM-123 Skippers to finish off whatever continued on towards the island. Meanwhile, the primed CAPTOR mine picket off the coast was ready to arm itself at the flick of a switch.
--
The small DT navy continued to make its way down the coast. The Bismark class Battleship and the two Pacitalia class galleons headed for the islands and the mouth of the river. Ready to defend it until they sunk and then block its entrance with their mighty scuttled hulks.
Aboard the ASDS Issac Brock, 800 km off the northern tip of the DT peninsula.
"General order to all commanders. Prepare for marine invasion. Bring up all defensive systems and prepare for counter battery and support operations!" Announced Admiral Hawk over the command frequency. Turning to His airwing commander, Colonel Bishop, he said, "have your troops ready to support landings and make sure that CAP is in place at all times!"

(OOC: To clarify defenses for anyone that needs to know:
- PAC-3 ERINT anti-missile systems deployed throughout coast
- Other Patriot launchers with traditional AA ordonance
- Numerous missile launchers carrying a variety of long-medium-short range anti-ship and submarine missiles
- Roughly 250 F-35 Lightening IIs and Blizzard fighter-bombers with similar ordnance
- Tactical bombers as well
- If you check my ongoing invasion thread with New Manth you'll see a series of tactical ballistic missiles rolling towards the coast on trains [you of course don't know this yet IC]
- ~1-2 miles off the coast is a CAPTOR mine picket
- lots of shore guns and anti-landing gear along the beaches
- after your attacks there shouldn't many ports left to dock in either
- the mouth of the river with the three islands is heavily guarded, mined, blockaded and if you check my thread with New Manth you'll see my small navy is en-route to defend the waterway and if need be scuttled in your path.
Bring on the fireworks. :) )

The massive Greal navy watched the Mokan missiles slam into the islands. The Greal fleet was right behind the Mokan fleet, and was ready to do some damage. Admiral Peterson prepared a massive cruise missile strike against the DT's small fleet heading down the coast. The Admiral ordered a bombardment, and 100 LY589 Hellion advanced cruise missiles were launched and after the enemy fleet. The Greal satellites meanwhile, were watching the enemy movements.

"Sir we got reports of enemy fighters taking off from 16 F-35 taking off from Oasis Air force bases and numerous airborne contacts, missiles sir!"
"Very well, I was wondering when something would happen. How close are we to the air base?"
"Approximately 200 miles sir. I recommend against firing 31s until they are at least over the city."
"Good Idea, when the enemy fighters are 200 miles out, i want them intercepted with 36 LY-31s."
"Sir what about the incoming missiles?"
"Fire off about 100 LY-31s (LY4031) for first interception, second wave I want 100 Firestorm Missiles intercepting, the rest can be mopped up by Evolved Sea Sparrows (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ESSM), any that get past that mess will have to deal with RAMs and Phalanxes, don't worry about them."
Marine trasport Flotillas...
Naval men on deck looked over their heads as the first Mokan Missiles flew into the enemy islands. Radio communication from the fleet confirmed the incoming 130 missiles, but they were not sure of targets...As the minutes went by the Mokan counter assault went off, 200 missiles fired at the 130 incoming, of the ones that were intercepted only 64 had survived, and of those 15 were heading for the marine fleets. The trasport fleet had significantly less defenses then the air attack fleets with them, but that didn't mean they were hopeless, armed with RIM-116B RAM (http://www.designation-systems.net/dusrm/m-116.html)s for close action and with a healthy amount of anti-air missiles they managed to intercept 13 of the incoming 15 with LY-31s, leaving the last 2 to be struck down by RAMs....
The attack failed miserably, hopefully the enemy saw how effective the Mokan fleet was at protection, the marine flotillas were now 30 miles off the coast of the first island. 30 F-35s and 50 F-18s from the Empire class carrier now took off towards the island to claim air superiority, Armed with sidewinders and AMRAAM for anti-air work they would make sure the skies stayed clear, and if they needed help, they were still 80 miles inside the blankets provided by the Fleets AA defenses. In addition to the AA make up many planes were also loaded with AGM-154s to make sure any AA would be decimated, not to mention the next volley of 100 hellions from the fleet was launched with this attack...

(OOC: sorry about the range thing, I've been having trouble with the zeros at the end of missile ranges...)
Commanders of the DT military were impressed by the show of technology from the Mokastana navy. They were bewildered that not a single missile had got through, however they realized the system's fatal flaw: its expensiveness and ammo draining tenancies. No ship of any size could keep up those countermeasures and continue attacking without lengthy periods spent reloading from vulnerable supply ships.
To play on that weakness, orders were sent out to keep a steady wave of missiles flying. If they kept sending out almost twice as many countermeasures as what was coming at them, they'd be out of ammo in no time. Meanwhile, stockpiles on shore were readily stocked and more was freighted in by train every hour, the underground rail lines busy as ever, despite the evacuation. Even the launchers on the islands had plenty of stock and were only a call away from more. RBS-15 mk. IVs streamed out of Oasis and the islands in loosely timed waves of 40 and 50 missiles.
With the smaller flotilla drawing even closer to shore, Coast Guard missile boats started loosing their own small swarms of 20 or 30 AGM-119 Penguins. But while those would slowly drain the enemy's stores, the F-35s were about to make a first strike.
Still over Oasis when the Mokastana anti-air came at them, they easily avoided the missiles. Still over friendly territory they easily dropped dangerously low, slowing down for safety, and beat the radar ceiling. Plus, the air was so think with signals and the occasional missile streaming away any chance of a missile picking out a moving target was negligible. By the time the coast was clear and the F-35s had reassembled their target was only ten miles out, well within range of their heavy AGM-123 Skipper guided bombs.
They decided to bring it in close anyways though to beat countermeasures in time with the climax of the first wave of Penguins. They swung out over the water and hit their afterburners briefly, bringing themselves up to the highest speed they could still safely release their ordnance. They flew low and fast over the sea and crossed the 10 miles in no time, the four groups of four releasing their four Skippers in quick succession as they neared the ships, the last falling near directly overhead its target. They had passed in only a second and the heavy 1000 pound warheads would wreck serious damage on the ships when they hit. Any computer would calculate the odds of hitting these things that were already on top of them or hitting the slower farther-out Penguins and decide to overlook the Skippers.
In addition, SSPH-1 self propelled gun-howitzers started receiving data links from scout UAVs just on the horizon and the allied satellite network. With accurate coordinates they let the coming ships have it, both from the islands and the mainland; shells from almost 100 separate howitzers streamed in, with reinforcements en-route.
--
Up north in Mirage the defenses were coordinated easily by land line but the fighter squadrons had to cope with direct links from satellites that moved in and out of range, causing delays and decreased operational awareness. That would hurt the defense of the coast if it wasn't taken care of when the real battle started.
(OOC: @ DaWoad: I'll need details on all that before I can respond to anything.)
--
In a dark, cool control car a man by the name of Kennedy sat, focused on his duties. The train he rode had arrived along with its three brothers in Dune Sea and the same had happened in the other two ports. The trains sat parked nonchalantly in no particular place. The four were slightly spread out on adjoining rails, randomly placed to avoid any early suspicion. But as Kennedy went through his check sheet, entering commands into a console and occasionally flipping switches in the fifth car of his train, the four cars of his and every other train began to stir at his commands.
The roofs of the four long cars on each train slowly slid open. It took several minutes as each of the 48 cars were quite long. Soon the bodies of the theater ballistic missiles within would creep into the day light, joining in the readiness of the 32 silos within range of the Manthian fleet.
B]--[/B]
As the 100 Hellions flew in the results were much as the wave before. PAC-3s managed to take down a goodly percentage, but since there is no real surefire defense against missiles, a goodly amount made it through anyways. Although if they had been targeted to hit launchers identified in the first attack they would've found many of those locations empty, most all the launchers having relocated at one point or another. If they were actively looking for targets, they would only see those that were currently in clearings firing or older models that took a long time to deploy. Every thing else pulled behind the cover of the trees for any lengthy reloading operation. Despite the number of units on the islands, their dense canopy and size left much of the land just trees and wildlife. Centralized computers and equipment tracked the missiles and designated those aimed at nothing to be left to detonate harmlessly.
The stratellite reached its operational altitude. Delicate primary antennae unfolded from the two domes on the underside of the craft, as the transmitter checked for errors. Detecting none, it left control to the computers aboard the ship, now acting as a data transmitter. Signals sent from below let the main camera bank focus upon the missile trails crossing the sky towards the south of the desert nation. The information began flooding in from the sensors to the small boat below, now relaying the information on. The hegemony forces in the theatre would soon be receiving all the data they needed, in resolutions 100x higher than a satellite could obtain with the same equipment. And with advanced adaptive optics technology, the cameras could adjust to atmospheric changes and compensate for it, providing even clearer images.
The gem in the crown though was the RADAR. With a massive horizon stretching 1500km from the craft at this altitude and power, it could track activity much further away than could be expected from a surface vessel, or even from an aircraft: it was far above the operational ceiling for nearly all aircraft. Out of range hopefully from any missiles that could get a lock on the cold, RADAR-transparent craft.

The command-linked automatic inputs to Hellion's AI enable the missile itself to plan, recalculate, analyse, abort, re-target, evade and engage autonomously....

Fluid Time: Start of Invasion
The Vizier of the Deserted Territories had been a long time friend of Claudius Griffincrest, and Claudius had owed him several times over for all of the times the DT forces had entered his own country, be it to assist in squashing a rebellion, or to help fend off an enemy fleet or invasion party approaching the shores. Now, finally, he had the opportunity to return the favor, and send his own men to the Deserted Territories, in the hopes that they would be able to crush the "Hegemonic" forces, and chase them back into the sea.
A massive air bridge was quickly established, allowing for over three hundred thousand Griffincrest mercenaries, as well as a full division of the GISF, Griffincrest's elite mercenary divisions, were soon preparing to be deployed along the shoreline, as well as around the capital. The GISF would also begin operations in the capital city, as well as surrounding areas, to uncover and eliminate or isolate any loyalists to the Sultan, and ensure that the Vizier continued to stay in power.
Today
Griffincrest coastal defense preparations were finally finished, and their brand new Cormorant missiles were finally ready to be used. This would be their first combat debut, and only time would tell of their potency. With a range of one thousand kilometers, the Mokastanan fleet was well within range. The five Empire Class Battle Carriers of the fleet and marine force would be the first targets. Each vessel was to recieve forty five missiles, to ensure that the enemy CIWS and other counter measures were unable to stop all of the missiles.
Along the shore, Griffincrest forces prepared for the coming enemy. Artillery was loaed, SAM sites set up, tanks were roling into position, and every prepartion possible was made to ensure that the Hegemonic forces would not have a good time making it to shore.
Within the capital, GISF men began covert operations against what could possibly be rebel groups. As of now, nobody was eliminated or arrested, however, informants were being set up, and observation missions were beginning.
Claudius Griffincrest sent the Vizier a letter, assuring him that the enemy would never take the capital city, and a basket of fruit and chocolates, hopefully they would lighten the mood.

Blackhelm Confederacy
As the air bridge of Griffincrest forces prepared to leave, five thousand Vantanians boarded. They had been sent earlier, as defenders of Vantanian assets, and could be quickly replaced. Laughably, these soldiers were not sent as part of any Corporate Alliance deal, and did not even know that the Vanteland was a member of said alliance, as it was a closely kept secret. In fact, at the point when these soldiers were sent, the Vanteland hadn't even entered yet.
Soon, fifteen thousand more soldiers were sent from the United Provinces, formerly part of the Colonial Militia of Phoenix Colony, which was now displaced by a large native army. Five thousand would stay in the Confederacy, filling in the spots of the other soldiers, while the remaining ten thousand left on the Air Bridge to the Deserted Territories.
Today
Fifteen thousand Vantanians in all, sent as general anti-Hegemonic Imperialist forces, hiding their nationalities from all but their allies. And so, supplementing the Griffincrest mercenaries, and generally much more resolute and well-trained, the Vantanians waited anxiously at the shore. There were no reinforcements forthcoming, either, as this was all that could be spared. Still, every bit helped; the Vantanians were elite on principle, in every category: Here was their chance to prove it.

OOC: The reasoning I used behind that post was that those fighters, all 16 of them, were in the middle of a city-sized communications jumble. Those 3 lone cities are pure beacons of radio, radar, physical and other activity, imagine beehives. With all the DT soldiers plus the BC and Vanteland forces no missile in the world could infiltrate all that to pick out a single, mildly stealthed, quickly moving target with its own defense mechanisms. It would surely take much more than the average or even above-average guidance computer to sort through that. Plus, considering your fleet is impervious to attack, what's the harm in a handful of smart bombs flying at them...?
If there was any confusion on the city's location, it is across the river from the islands. Maybe 10 miles, but definitely closer than 30. I tried to drop subtle hints on how close your ships were, my argument above should hold for this. Those countermeasures won't be able to hit those planes when they are over or close to that city, which cuts down their range since you're so close.
As for you missiles, they can track and swap targets to find my launchers as much as you want, rp it and it will happen. But keep in mind at least 1 out of every 2 targets your missiles look at will be empty, they can only look around for so long before they crash. And if they are so expensive how can you afford to throw them and all those countermeasures around?

IC:
The tiny fleet of of DaWoad was about to be pummeled into oblivion by the coastal defenses that were set up by the Griffincrest mercenaries. One hundred and twenty five Khan class missiles were being prepared to fire into the enemy fleet, these being used because they could jump far above the rest of the enemy vessels between the DaWoadian fleet and the shoreline, and pummel the enemy vessels after coming out of low orbit. With only thirty five surface ships representing the insignificant little nation, this was more than overkill. But then again, that was the point.
The Griffincrest coastal batteries commander looked on as the missiles screamed from their launchers and smiled. The enemy of the Corporate Alliance would, once again, see their proud fleets sink to the bottom of the sea, and the CA will once again be allowed to continue on with its operations, until some more wannabe heroes come out, and they too have their fleets sent to the ocean floor. "That was just the pregame, let's start the real show now boys" the commander said. In moments, the beach would explode to life.
The Mokastana fleet was far too close to the shore for their own good, and they would now feel the wrath of Griffincrest. Over one thousand missiles, every single one of the Cormorant's which the task force brought, and nearly one third of all the Cormorant's that Griffincrest has produced, all were launched at once. The enemy fleet would have absolutely no hope, as missile after missile screamed for Mokastanan blood. That nation too, so insignificant and absurd in their ways, would soon see the folley in standing against capitalism, free trade, and the Corporate Alliance.

OOC: nice to see such a lively response from allies....
DT,
I am not arguing that the city interception is cheating, I am just saying that at around 30 miles another volley of missiles would hit them as well, and i have done a lot of work to make my fleet as tough as it is.
I fired that many missiles because I do not know exactly how big those island are. i am assuming since the port city is 10 miles above the island then maybe 160 square miles or so, is that right?
and with a range of 3000km, i believe they can look around for a bit before they have to crash.
as for the countermeasures, I have thousands ready to fire on this fleet. so launching a few hundred to prevent the loss of major ships is more cost efficient then rebuilding fleets. Not to mention DPRs help keep cost down.
Blackhelm, is that 45 missiles per ship? or 45 per carrier?

While I will benefit whether we end this war or continue it I would like to make to make you a deal. I pull some string and get Mokan forces out of DT, for free trade within CA territory, mostly drugs and pharmaceuticals, since i believe you have a monopoly on oil and military force in the CA.
I hope you consider this

The Mandalore's War Office
"Please, sir, come in," The large oak door slowly opened, and in came three men, the one in the middle clearly the head of the small group. After taking seats across the table from The Mandalore, one of the men opened his briefcase and handed The Mandalore a few papers.
"What is all of this, Mr. Redtooth?" The Mandalore skimmed a few pages here and there, only reading major details... Invasion of Deserted Territories...A fellow Corporate Alliance member...Being reinforced by Griffencrest and Vanteland* He mumbled a bit to himself and then spoke up. "Very well, it appears that we must aid an ally. As you men may or may not know, most Mandalorian military assets are mobilized, preparing for a possible conflict. You know the deal, Zen; consider two of your divisions hired and put it on the tab."
Laughter encompassed the room after the small wisecrack, and Zen Redtooth stood up. "Very well, sir, they are ready to defend Deserted Territories to the death, if need be." And with that, the three Mandalorian Merc. officials left the room as slowly as they came in...
Air Bridge
Mandalorian mercenaries, following the Vantelanders which in turn were behind the Griffencrest mercs., began boarding the air bridge towards Deserted Territories. Once there, the Mandalorian forces were given orders from High Command to obey Griffencrest and Deserted Territories wishes. So, until they were properly assigned, these mercenaries were jobless....

The five Empire Class Battle Carriers of the fleet and marine force would be the first targets. Each vessel was to recieve forty five missiles, to ensure that the enemy CIWS and other counter measures were unable to stop all of the missiles.

Antonio sat in his office looking at this email with a mildly dissatisfied look on his face. he could see where Griffincrest was coming from, after all they still had Sumgians, Dawood and other sorts to fight off, so he would want to clear up the front before negotiations, but getting the army to pull out would not be an easy task, and it would cost him severely. Sure he had the blackmail, and the few conservative seats in parliament, but with the protests going on, and even some socialist trying to get them out of the war, Parliament would probably crack. However with the presidential elections almost over and with Nicolas Villa practically being given the keys to the country he had a very small window to get things cooled down over here. He called in secretary and a few of his "partners" to go over the process to get Mokan forces out. Pulling out this soon would be harder then waiting till land fall, and since Montana Inc didn't own docks, it would be harder make money off this war. After much debating between the top partners they came to an agreement, they would begin the steps of the pullout while keeping Griffencrest on the line, try to work with him so both parties walked away rich. Hopefully this would do the trick.
TO: Mr. Claudius Griffincrest
FROM: Antonio Montana
Very well, I have begun to process to convince the nation to pull out. however i will ask something of you in order to make it happen. The public needs to see the mokan war machine take heavy causalities, preferably ground forces, since my company makes many of the domestically produced vehicles for the Mokan Military. Most noticeably the Amphibious kind, which if enough were destroyed would help boost revenue for my company in replacements.
Hopefully we can all walk out of this better off then before.
With the email sent out the partners left, leaving Antonio with just his secretary and one other man.
"So there you go, we are on our way to getting into the CA, since I know your boys always tag along with mine. Yes I will give your organization access to my trade. So you can do your thing around the world. Why you would want to undermine your own army is beyond me but-"
"Thank you Mr. Montana, but remember, you are a Mokan national to, and what are you doing is treason, we have you by the balls as well."
"You don't have me by nothing. I will make sure of that. We started working together because it benefited us both, and I got no problem letting a couple of Commies die fighting for their cause. At least they have a cause unlike your slithering ass!"
"Mr. Montana, our cause is power, until you see that you will just be another piece on the game board. Socialist, Capitalist, what we do is beyond that. We make sure Mokastana is safe by undermining anyone we need to, even itself."

OOC: hey now! insignificant? . . .awwww :( um might wanna check my orbat. its more than 35 ships its just thirty-five "stealth" ships that are moving in shore at the moment along with my entire marine contingent.
OOC2: sorry about being gone I was out of country.
OOC3: this may seem like a stupid question but do Kahn's use radar for inital guidance or are yours satelite based or what????
IC:
The sudden appearence of multiple traking Radar locking on to ships that their captains thought were stealthy was a large shock for the ASD Captains and commanders but not entirely unexpected and jamming went from bad to worse as every ship in the ASD fleet brought up its jamming capabilities. Carefully run via computer algorithms the jammers switched frequencies rapidly but always left a single, shifting, frequency uncovered to be used by ASD radar. 300 tlams launched back towards the tracking sites from the ships further offshore and the 50 "stealth" ships began to beat back towards the body of the ASD fleet as the entire fleety moved forward. 40 AWAKS created a perimiter with interceptor wings covering them and a CAP and CAP reserve were in place with STOVL planes on ready stations. Submarines created an outer perimiter and stayed silent as they left thier shield and phalanxs ships to use active sonar. Fortunetly the ASD ships had not yet left the intermidiate range perimiter of the main fleet contingent and were still relatively safe.

And with that, the one thousand Cormorant missiles began their final preparations to fire. Soon missile after missile would be streaking through the air and smashing into the Mokan fleet, tearing massive holes in the once proud and mighty fleet and sending its sailors to the bottom of the sea in a cold, dark, metal coffin.
OOC: lol fair enough . . .now read the rest of the thread those were just moving slowly to shore to begin the invasion. The rest of my fleet is still offshore waiting for a response to the attack on you land based defenses.

Deserted Territories Coast
Mandalorian mercenaries disembarked the air bridge, which just recently left the area. Coastal defenses and air defense systems had been erected as soon as the mercenaries landed. Watching the Griffincrest decimate the enemy fleets, the Mandalorians got the same idea. With the enemy targetting Griffincrest positions, Mandalorian forces could effectively get into position without much worry. A few dozen M197 rocket launchers began its lethal barrage against the DoWoad fleet, which was already under a vicious attack by Griffincrest. One-hundred cruise missiles were immediately launched from the rocket launchers, targetting the remaining floating DoWoad vessels...
As Mandalorian missiles soared overhead, the ground force began digging in. Howitzers and remaining rocket launchers were re-positioned to target the shores. Mandalorian engineers had taken advantage of the lull in the fighting to construct minefields and anti-tank obstacles. It might not stop the enemy warmachine if they were to land, but it would certainly slow them down. The Mandalorian mercenaries could do nothing but wait for the upcoming battle. Hopefully, though, the enemy fleets would be sunk before they actually manage a landing.

100 Maldorian cruise missiles appeared out of nowhere on ASD RADAR screens and the response was fast. 10 long-range counter missiles leaped out from each of the Phlanxes to meet the incoming cruise missiles. At the same time the Shark SD began counter battery fire against the Maldorian missile launchers with 150 TLAMs launched in two waves as well as 2 rounds per minute from its long range guns. The shadow, pike, and night classes with their more limited magazine space held off. The 80 long range counter missiles met the incoming Cruise missiles and detonated. At such long range and with the small size of the cruise missiles most missed but 5 of the maldorian missiles were destroyed outright and another 5 were damaged badly enough that they strayed off course and plunged into the sea. The maldorian missiles then crossed into the range of the intermediate CM's and the 90 cruise missiles were met with 300 Javelin class CM's. Even so 30 cruise missiles broke though to the inner perimeter and were met with over 160 longbow missiles from the Phalanxes alone. 12 somehow broke though that storm of metal due, in part to their stealthy nature and were shredded by arrow last ditch missiles and ciws that could see the incoming heat sources easily. The ASD invasion contingent continued to retreat as the rest of the ASD moved forward to rendezvous. The Kahn's Had been left entirely to the main fleet contingent as their low orbit flight path brought them into range of the ASD Pilum class extended range CMs. 394 Pilum class counter missiles. Accelerated hard to meet the oncoming Kahn's and with guidance from The Phalanxs had much better guidance than normal. 125 missiles quickly dwindled to a mere25 as four counter missiles targeted each of the Khan's. those 25 missiles, though swept though the out perimeter of missile defense without allowing for another shot and the second wave of CM's was made up solely of the less effective Javelin class missiles. Fortunately, though less effective and at the very edge of their range there were a lot of javelins and as 500 javelins met 25 Kahn's the Kahn's were blotted from the sky.

OOC: You may have a position on the launch, but that is most likely what you will target; not the missile. The missile, being stealth, has a low radar cross section, which means that your Infrared tracking missiles would have most likely followed the heat source, which is the site where the missiles were launched. That, and the missile's advanced guidance system is pretty sophisticated, allowing it to avoid detection and, if detected, interception, during all phases of flight.
Now, I would like to question your anti-missile attack against me. So, I snipped out the attack against Griffincrest's missiles and your ORBAT.

1) A Phalanx system aboard a vessel is not a missiles launcher, yet rather like a minigun. It is used as a final line of defense against missiles, and are relatively short range. I don't see how you have longe-range and short range missiles popping out of that system.
2) You stated that 10 long range counter missiles were fired from the...Phalanxes *Look at point 1* but then you say 80. In the second statement, you said "The 80..." as referring to the first 10 that you fired. ?
3) What type of guidance system are you using for your Javelin missiles? You did not specify. They use a Semi-Automatic Command to Line of Sight system. I do not see how you can 'correct' the flight path of the missiles when you have little to no idea as to where the missiles have to be.
4) Arrow missiles? I do not hope that you are referring to the Israeli Arrow missiles.... Specs?

OOC:
1)the launch site would cool before the counter missiles got anywhere close. And the missiles were launched back along the launch vector thats all. It's a relatively simple system to circumvent (i'm not gonna help you find it but your can probably easily see the flaw.) but its the best I could come up with to counter stealth missiles.
2)check my factbook. The names I have in no way correspond to rl names. And the specs are there (sorry nothing follows rl names UNLESS its under the "state of canada" banner my bad)
3)Cm's are launched back along the direct launch vector from the missile site. Adjustments made are autonomic and rely on IR/radar (both if possible but one will do) for final interception. In this case most missed badly. (again check factbook.)

OOC: and now the long awaited response from the fleet!
total: 1000+ missiles inbound....
IC:
"Sir we are being fired upon by artillery and apparently the enemy has far more missiles launchers available then previous intelligence showed."
"Very well, Notify the admirals we are use the Longswords to continue blotting those missiles out. Use anything to keep us from losing anything, I don't care what it takes, stop us from losing a ship. keep the Hobarts to the between us and the inbound missiles, we are pulling out to 300 miles from the coast, aka 480Km (10 hours) keep those missiles off our fleet, as for the generic artillery fire, pray they don't hit anything valuable."
With that the Mokan fleet pulled off from the 100 mile distance, for the enemy wasnt softened enough yet. Hellions fired from the fleet towards any launch site the Hawkeyes, UAVs or satellites(including the Alfgen baloon) could pick up, ussually at an exchange of 2 to 1 site. Most armed with Dual purpose sub munitions they hoped to take out the whole launch site, including support vehicles, while the anti-ship launchers were primary targets, hellions were given the go ahead to engage any AA that dare to threaten the incoming hellions.
As for defense against the artillery, 50 hellions were launched from the Revolucion each armed with 30 HEAT submunitions, perhaps overkill for 50 artillery pieces, but the idea was to demoralize the enemy in any way possible, and even if one hellion made it through to the artillery, that would take out nearly a third of the guns firing on the fleet. Once again, AA would be secondary targets, assuming the Hellions believed that the Artillery had enough weapons aimed at it, it would change course for RADAR stations and SAM sites.
However there was one thing the enemy overlooked when attacking the Mokan Fleet, the wolf packs, approximately 50-120 miles off the coast, depending on which sub and its duties, they were given the Go-Ahead for Operation Lights Out, the launching of non-nuclear EMP devices towards many high value targets, such as the port city. From the Ohios and Sea Wolfs modified Tomahawk missiles flew towards the city and surrounding areas where Hawkeyes were picking up radar signals. With only a small range of about .5 to .7 miles they were targeting police stations, military check points, power plants, civilian airports and even major intersections, the massive highways leading out of the city were also targeted, hoping to get many vehicles stopped in the middle of the muti-lane highways, slowing traffic and causing more issues.
The first marine divisions were now unloading from the boats and the amphibious assault craft were racing to the shore of the first island. With Hawkeyes scanning for any RADAR, or other tracking systems and missiles ready on the Hachets and guns ready on the Battleaxes it would be chaos once things hit the fan. The first wave would be Advanced Amphibious Assault craft (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/aaav.htm) with Cobra and transport helicopter support. Marines were armed with AVIR Advanced Personal Weapon Systems, M3 Weapons systems and FIM-92 Stinger missiles. Once the ground forces made land the vehicles would start to pour on to the beaches and began clearing the enemy with UAV and airborne support.
Just then the Hawkeyes showed something that made Admiral Jorge Fernando sit down. He wiped his brow as sweat began to build, they were only 150 miles out at this point, providing fire cover for both the marine landing teams as well as watching their own ass. However this was a massive blow.
"We have a report of approxamently 1,000 incoming missiles Admiral."

Took awhile for me to stop being lazy and simply attack Mal... Or at least tag a thread so I can do so at my liesure...
And if anyone has any issues with such a 'minor' and slightly unrelated attack occuring in this thread, there's another one this part can jump to to keep things free-flowing over here.
OOC: *Jumps aboard*
OOC: Just BTW, an air bridge is a bunch of planes strung out due to airport limitations, a good sized interuption would force some crash-landings due to fuel starvation unless in-air refueling or alternate airfields are provided.
OOC Note: I'm the fellow Mal was mobilizing against, he just redeployed 2 divisions away from his defenses after bolstering it with additional missile launchers taken from his homeland if I'm reading this right.
It also wouldn't be very smart of me to chase-down said airbridge and knock them down, rather, more important would be to engage them all head-on just outside of his sphere of influence/defenses before they can restock and send the 2nd airlift. (and if he did it all on one go, it'd still be a turkey shoot that'd cripple his future logistics for at least a few months and trap his forces in DT*). Plus I'd be attacking him on the return leg bcause I'm late in replying...
*Because even if he did manage to land everyone in his divisions in one shot, chances are they only have 3 days worth of food and supplies, so crippled logistics + strain = win.
IC coming.

Earlier:
New Roanoke Island Naval Base (airfield)
Things were still rather hectic, being the staging area for an air/sea assault on Maldorians was no picnic, neither was the job of watching "The Tyrannical Mandalore" with little more than some thirty-ish spy satallites in rapidly decaying polar-orbits... Giving a refresh-rate of once every hour... A temproary elliptical orbiting sat was supposed to go online a week ago, but they weren't getting any telemetry... yippee for advanced electronics strapped to rockets and manhandled under 30+ year old airframes for a less-than precise air-launch...
One of the groundcrew noted a large concentration of movement (IR heat from jet turbine, tanks, and people, LOTS of activity in a very confined space), a check on maps and charts on-file thanks to their former alliance-based defense programs revealed it as an airport. Huzzah for the obvious when a row of transports were clearly visable and being loaded with rocket launchers...
By the time the frame refreshed, everything had shuffled, and there was evidence that the runway was used for a full-load take-off, these planes were going to be moving an awful lot really fast, next came the problem of figuring out where these planes were headed, or if it was just an internal shuffle meant to get a rise out of the Hurtian military?
Time to consult our local SIGINT...
Now:
Skies, somewhere between Deserted Territories and Maldorians:
It was a fairly long flight, and the briefing was rather sparse, but the scale was known to be massive since command decided to fling two whole air-wings out here, fourty F-4 Phantom IIs loaded to the gills with AIM-120D AMRAAMs, and a few AIM-9X Sidewinders, plus the good-ol' reliable 35 mm gunpod in the belly-recess.
Their orders were simple, get to station and patrol 1,000 miles off the coast of Maldorians without drawing suspicion, this meant a lot of the radars were off, everyone set to cruise, and the WSO's were relying on the Mk-1 Eyeball assisted by enhanced optics (binoculars/spotting scopes) and the massive forward IRST system under the nose.
One wing flew high in the clouds, the other low, 20 planes each, in fluid-four groups spread in a very loose finger-five formation, only the lead squadron on the bottom using radars, everyone else up high reading on passives. The idea was that one of the WSO's would see/hear something on their panel or with their eyes and give a hollar.
There were some reports that one of the carriers (a "brand-new" CVM) placed on defensive resserve would be assisting as needed later, most likely to handle refueling of the F-4s and trading them for their own fleet.
Their AEW aircraft would have proven most helpful... (grossly modified F-4 Phantoms with a "radar hump" occupying entire fusalage underside, only 10 in stock) Which although it was better suited for Electronic warfare (jamming), and SEAD, it had such great radar capacity procurement never bothered to get a real AEW, and a pair of EW flying "halo" was better than nothing, especially if the Mandalore decided to send out a CAP.
A few FMA-6Cs would be sent out with "buddy stores" to refuel the thirsty Phantoms once the carrier was within range, should the patrol last that long.
In-air refueling on the return-leg would be carried out by KC-130's being placed en-route, plus a relieving force of Phantoms would arrive shortly before the previous wing bingoes.
With the two parts of the fleet having met up with ASDN forces turned tail and began to move at maximum possible speed for edge of the Enemy missile range. Even as the did so High powered Radar strained for any sign of incoming missiles and fire finding Radar waited to launch counter batteries at anything that fired.

The Vizier found these terms acceptable and went to meet the Hegemon in private...
(OOC: LS, I sent you a telegram with some details on what we talked about in MSN. Everyone else - I'm afraid I'll be gone again until next Saturday. Again, I'm sorry for making the rp move at a painfully slow pace, when I get back you'll see it at the top of the list, I promise.)

Far from the loud battlefields of carnage on the small islands south of DT, far in fact from any part of DT, the Sultan, rightful ruler of Deserted Territories now ousted by the wicked Vizier found himself on a privately chartered flight the meet with Lord Sumguy. Though deposed of his title and power he still had considerable personal wealth and had spent the last year traveling, half in hiding form the Vizier.
Now he sees DT poised on the brink of a conflict that will take many lives, many of them surely foreign for he knows what his nation is capable of and does not hesitate for a moment to think that DT would emerge the victor in this struggle when all was said and done and the aggressors were nursing their wounds on the way out the door. But more than that he sees a way back into power.
This was why he was going to see Lord Sumguy, to make promises and provide information that only he could give. Promises perhaps that he would break, but he was sure that the short-term gains to Lord Sumguy would overshadow what everyone knew would ultimately come about. One way or another, at the end of this the Sultan would find himself back in power and this conflict could come to a timely close.
