Quick OOC:This is basically an introductory thread to get myself acquainted with the nations of the world and to expose the culture and people of Rinvia to the rest of the NS community by RPing it through the eyes of regular people living in the country. I am hoping that most of the RPing takes place in one of three cities: Ranwara (the capital), Vara (the largest city), or Kest* (the oldest city)

*I've seen this name used a lot by other nations, what is the deal with that name?

Biography: Joshua was born in Ranwara, the capital city. Because of this he has grown up constantly exposed to politics and has a great love for politics. He is a member of the HMRP (His Majesty's Royalist Party) and holds a seat in Parliament as chairman of the nations Religious Study Department, as well as holding a seat in the Ranwaran City Council.
Personality: A bit pretentious at times, and egotistical more often than not.

Biography: Born to a large family in the slums of Pug City, Marcus was mostly ignored by his parents in his childhood. By first grade, he had a reputation as a stubborn instigator (When he did come to school) and was often absent from school. He always hated school, and educated himself from a young age. By the third grade, he started attending school regularly again after being encouraged by his Grandfather to not make the same mistake that he or his father did. (Neither of them finished high school) He applied himself diligently and was soon recommended for honors classes.

Around this time he began taking drugs in large amounts to escape the emotional and physical pain from his father beating him citing his "Poor grades" as a reason (He had actually got straight A's), and the death of his Grandfather. His teachers soon noticed an extreme difference in him, and sent him to the school nurse, who found out about his drug problem, and his problem with his father. He was placed in a foster home, and taken far away from his parents.By the time he was in the Eighth grade, he had been given a scholarship to the most prominent grade school in the country. He did not last long there, as the many richer kids taunted him and his behavior towards the teachers soon ended with him being kicked out.

He continued through High School, and instead of following his education, he applied for the first battalion of the CM army, and was accepted into boot camp. Here he met his father again.. As his drill sargent. His training was brutal, more so then the other candidates. Despite the low graduation rate from the boot camp, and the extra duties and exercises conferred upon him, he miraculously passed. Around this time the Senatorial/Presidential civil war broke out, and as the army had decided to remain neutral to prevent extreme casualties on either side, he resigned from the first battalion (Moralite Army laws are different) to fight on the Presidential side.

When the war was finally over, he continued his education in college for another two years. But he felt a need to move, to get away from CM. So he bought a ticket on a plane to Rinvia, and sold all his possesions in CM, except his Grandfathers good luck charm, and set off...

Personality: Marcus is extremely arrogant, and will stop at nothing to prove someone wrong. He has strong political beliefs, and has a hatred for structure in his life. He's quite superstitious and likes to socialize. Well, as long as the conversation is interesting to/focused on him. He has absolutly nothing in the way of manners.

Anything else: He has extensive knowledge of computers, and speaks four different languages: English, Latin, Japanese, and Spanish. He also has an extensive knowledge of military tactics, hand-to-hand combat and is an excellent sniper.

Here's a start. I'll write up more details shortly, but this is just to get my foot in the door, so tp speak, at the beginning...ouch. My foot hurts.

I gave this one a little alleged criminal history, but nothing proved.

Biography: Sharifa is a disowned child of a rich family in Saphronia, cast out because she happens to be a bisexual, which is seriously frowned upon in the Protectorate. She moved in order to escape persecution, and if the Protectorate government can be believed, to stay in a land where she could not be arrested for assisting black rebels. The accusation comes largely from a period in which she traveled inland where many such rebels live, and went in to hiding for a time, during which she was supposedly sighted riding with a commando in service of the Inland People’s Liberation Army, a known, deadly terrorist organization.

Personality: Sharifa is a sweet, shy woman who does not talk much. She is intelligent and often remarkably wise.

Miscellaneous: Sharifa is extremely physically fit, being an accomplished martial artist, a marskwoman, moderately skilled equestrian, and evidently a fitness fanatic generally. She also has a basic teaching degree, stating she is qualified to teach elementary level school classes.

Biography: Sean grew up on the streets of Karas as a street orphan during the Boratnian occupation. He joined a local gang and acted as their diplomat to the higher crime families. When he was 15, his gang was destroyed by the Black Hand family. He took up numerous temporary jobs then, moving around the country never staying in one place too long. Two months before the RP starts his more successful brother died, leaving him a large estate and a small fortune. However, Sean simply sold the house and put all the money into a bank account. Using a small amount of it, he moved to Rinvia for a fresh start.
Personality: He is generally quiet, preferring to let his actions do the talking. However, if he is angered he will generally fight until he dies or the other opponent has. Even though he has never been to a school, he is still very knowledgeable.

Biography: His father was a resistance fighter against the Cyonist Government (1983-1987) so he grew up in the slums of Naldrai. When he was 16, he won a scholarship from the Creipa Conglamerate School. He is therefore well educated but knows what it`s like to grow up extreemly poor. He is moving to Rinvia because he believes he can make a better life there than in Boico, were the econonmy is becoming worse and worse.
Personality: He is down to earth but sometimes thinks he knows everything. Quite open minded, he`s also into history and philosophy.
