(OOC: The title is a little misleading, since it would be impossible to determine which nations were in Africa without creating a Region, and Region based Alliances are a bit lame, if you consider your national culture to be based on Real Life Africa then you are eligable for this alliance.)

Through years of Imperialism it has been observed that the states of Africa have become socially, politically and economically damaged, the aim of this alliance is to repair this damage through the promotion of African unity and solidarity, it is also the aim of the alliance to peacefully negotiate the release of all African states still under Colonial Rule.

Further, this alliance shall work towards increasing the living standards of Africans, through the support of education, health and law institutions, ensure that all Africans live under basic human rights and to improve the general living standards of all in Africa.

(OOC: Still working on a Charter, essentially it'll just be what's writing up above but more formal.)

Membership

I. All nations applying for membership agree to the conditions of the Charter

II. All nations applying for membership must have their territory entirely within Africa

Military

I. All Member States understand that the African Alliance seeks peaceful resolution to a dispute over an armed conflict

II. Should a Member State invade a foreign power the African Alliance will take efforts to settle this dispute peacefully, unless in breech of Part 2 Section 3 and Part 2 Section 4

III. Should a Member State be invaded by a foreign power, all other Member States will seek to aid in the defense of the invaded party

IV. Should two Member States engage in warfare, the African Alliance will seek to settle the dispute peacefully, unless in breech of Part 2 Section 3

Living Standards

With regards to the first part - we have vast amounts of land both in and out of Africa - a problem there?

With regards to the second part - aid in defense, does that mean military or is one allowed to aid in other ways in lue of military?

Also, any other requirements - "spread the wealth" or what not?

You mean Doomingsland and Praetonia have vast holdings in Africa, ViZion.

(OOC: 1. Maybe, I've considered changing that rule to your Capitol and <insert percentage here> of your territory is in Africa, though this Alliance ought to argue against Imperialism by its members, otherwise it'd be hypocritical.

2. I need to word this better, I mean in the way that if you invade an Alliance they'll all jump on you, that sort of thing, I couldn't say it was compulsary for all to be involved, cos some members may lack the ability to wage war, and I couldn't say it was encouraged, because on the political stage that's like saying "You can do it if you want but we don't really care."

3. I still have to finish the Living Standards and Economy Sections, the basic principle being that we give monetary aid to those in the alliance in desperate need of Aid, I think I may need to create seperate Organs for the Living Standards part, based upon Healthcare and Education, a major factor holding back many African states, you ought to be prepared to share your wealth, but if it's not an option (ie, you've gone bankrupt) then it won't be forced.
