Now should those of us who are going to sit back and watch this annual rite of merry mayhem have a party? A betting pool?

OOC: People are betting on these wars, eh? Well, I must thank Miroxia for his bet on my nation. By the way, Viticoma and I arranged the conflict through telegrams; he's doing it all as part of an ultranationalist's crazed expansionist policies which will bring stronger nations at his door.

Griffencrest will apparently be taken by Rosdivan - they have a 1vs1 challenge.

I'd love to see how will GC get out of it...

I say GC gets his ass handed to him or makes up an excuse to avoid such, ESPECIALLY if Prussia is involved.

Also, don't forget Tokyoni and friends going up against myself; I'm about to invade his North Korea territory (And most likely his homeland afterwards) in the thread Rumors of War (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=552829). Page 7 is where I come in!

one of my huge problems with NS, is size should not be dependant upon age - one can't help when one finds NS, and just because you've been here for 5 years ( but making all the wrong economic decissions ) doesn't mean you have a military that can fight it's way out of a paper bag...

I would think bets could be placed, not just on winners and losers, but on other, related issues, such as the magnitude of the victory or defeat which is predicted, who will be the first to use gas, nukes, etc... I could be horribly wrong, but that's just how I see it.

Are you suggesting that Maldorians should tell everyone he has massive resources stockpiled in his nation, nuke his major cities, gas his army, blow up his navy/armored divisions/air force, spread a plague throughout his nation, and poison his land with chemicals and radiation?

Of course, those chemicals and radiation could be a genius ploy to revive the billions of casualties he suffers, and create a massive zombie army to invade the world!:eek:

Well, now we get in to the whole Honor system. Players should inflict upon their troops the losses their foes actions have generated. Lieing / Ignoring ehnemy actions and saying you took less than what would reasonably have happened, has multiple consequences, and it's not just losing a bet.

Play in that fashion and not get played with any more. I have all the respect in the world for some one who takes their losses realisticly and loses / wins graciously.

Someone who doesn't play fair - I won't game with people like that.

Betting on oneself - cheeky, but hey a good ego is necessary any time one goes to war LOL.

ALC, which is in this war, certainly won't, but you see... most nukes are under GNAVT control (they constantly wobble between war and truce with ALC).
And the reason our people are content with tolerating the outrageous GNAVT having a huge nuclear deterrence force is that ALC is very civilized and reluctant to destroy lives, while GNAVT only considers it a life when it's gay. And who you'd be more afraid of?
However GNAVT doesn't have much of a reason, except the nukes are ripe (they don't have infinite lifetime, you know), and they generally don't like corporate types (for things like dress-code, for instance), and then there's the beauty of pristine landscapes. But they aren't in any war. Neither is ALC, of course, but only because a pack of oil gangsters isn't something you declare a war at.

About the Shofercia VS. Griffincrest: Questers, TFU, and the Hegemony should be added in on Shofercia's side. Also, most of those allies were actually recruited by myself and Cazelia independantly for a larger war against the CA, so it really should be the Hegemony against the CA with the other nations as allies.

Add more one to the list, currently it is not a war between different players as I'm making of it an initial story for it to make the mood and initial events, but later it will have the participation of other RPers as well. It has no preset or planned final outcome so anything may happen during and after it.

I'm pretty sure Rido-Fozcria was solved months ago.

The Macgruber/Cuborg was recently resolved for the moment. I'm guessing this is a dead thread though
