OOC: this is an RP I had an idea for a short bit ago. My nation (today) is MT, and there are some large permanent areas such as the capital and military bases, but most of the people are still organized into nomadic or seminomadic clans, tribes, and bands. I want to show the rise of arguably the most powerful clan 700 years ago.

I was hoping that i could get some people to help me RP the clan's start by controlling one to three characters each while I do the same (i control society, the land, and the chief guy, but that's kind of obvious).. the clans are somewhere between roving European groups, Native Americans, and Mongols, w/ maybe some Arab or Indian thrown in.

Of note: We can only take young adults. Since a new clan needs kids to grow, all the characters will have to end up married to someone and starting a family (or dead, of course). Actually, we can decide whom marries whom in the OOC thread. Chances are they will be from Dekho, but foreign characters are permitted, to introduce some random custom later on (in present times).

isa, you're in. But culd you shorten/replace the long sword? We're not really a sword culture. And the mail shouldn't be too large, remember that.

nomadic
avoid outsiders
monogamy, polygamy, and child engagements allowed (the last is frowned upon today)
keep horses and cattle, also sheep
like hunting dogs, war dogs, and falcons
favor recurve bows, short spears, short swords, and knives, leather armor w/ some metal
incredibly polytheistic (see spirits in everything)
Each clan or band or tribe has a generally unofficial chief, chiefs argue among themselves for national action
high mortality rate=high birth rate
adult at 16

i'am basing my peson on what the Europeans used as main weapons and armour at the time and which was mostly long swords and chainmail

well, whack it a bit shorter- say it was in bad condition when you got it or something.

Just noticing the heights of some of these characters, and average height back then was somewhere around 5'4" for a man, 5' for a woman. My character's height is a reflection of his Belkan ancestry. Not a big deal, but these would be some rediculously tall nomads.
