The Condemmed [OOC]

Orbath

I don't know if you any of you have ever seen the movie ''The Condemned'' but the basic plot line is that a man finds convicts on death row from all over the world and brings them to an island. They have 30 hours to find and kill each other. The last man left standing is given his freedom. I thought the concept would be interesting, so I've decided to try it. Please post a character outline, I will also be playing. Instead of nine like in the movie, I will have 5 convicts other than my own. I would like those that are fairly active.

Character Outline
Name: Ross Diamond
Sex: Male
Age: 28
Height: 6'2''
Weight:175lbs
Hair: Brown, short
Eyes: brown
Distinguishing Features: scar on neck from knife wound, snake tattoo which winds up arm.
Clothing Worn: Black boots, baggy black jeans, tight black t-shirt, black hooded sweatshirt.
Criminal Record: Drug Possession and Dealing, Theft, Illegal Firearms Possession, Assault, Attempted Murder x 2, Murder x 26
Biography: Ross was your average kid in high school, until he began hanging out with a more criminal crowd. He quickly became a drug dealer, first for the school, then the town, then he moved to a city and began dealing there. He was caught and arrested. Instead of jail time, the judge gave him probation and ordered him to get a job at a local office. One day the man snapped. He constructed several bombs and purchased two firearms, a shotgun and a pistol. He went to the office, destroyed it killing everyone inside and began a shooting spree outside. He engaged in a gun battle with police and was shot twice, once in the leg and shoulder. He survived, was treated and sentenced to death.

Have not seen the movie, but this does sound fun.

Question: My nation happens to be comprised of various species of anthropomorphic animals. Would I be disqualified from entering into this thread on those grounds? My intended entrant would be a rabbit anthro, so low on the threat scale in most opinions.

Well, I suppose you could submit a profile - worst that could happen is you'd be told no.

BTW: What about entrants from nations that don't have the death penalty, but who are extremely violent criminals sentenced to long prison terms?

I ask on the grounds that while I most enjoy playing as a furry, it is not a requirement. I'll pull out a human to join in this thread.

OOC: I'd join, but I'd imagine that a Charr would flourish in such an environment rather than struggle...

I've seen this theme before, its a spinoff of the whole, 'let's grab a whole lotta people, put them in some place, and make them kill each other.' Its been used in Battle Royal, Unreal Tournament, and Elder Scroll 4, from what I've seen. That being said, I'm in, possibly, if I decide to join (high chances) I've as active as possible since I typically go to bed 2 hours late cause I'm checking the forums.
And 'The Charr,' are you making a Guild Wars reference?

I wouldn't know about that, but I would be interested in learning about The Charr.

Dammit I'm in.

Name: Wraith
Sex: Male
Age: unknown, assumed to be in thirties
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 168lbs
Hair: Black
Eyes: Green
Distinguishing Features: Multiple scara and cut marks on his torso. Unusually sharp teeth.
Clothing: Always in black or in camo that matches his surroundings. Clothing has metalic plates in it to protect vitals.
Criminal Record: Murder x68, GTA x28, illegal possession of firearms, assault
x97, Theft, blackmail
Bio: An ex-military assassin who continued his ways after leaving the army. Highly intelligent, highly dangerous, possesses killing knowledge of a true black op. Was not sentenced to death but was instead put in a high security prison where he'd serve life sentence. Despite this he is not aggressive towards the guards and accepts his fate, he has a nuetral attitude and most guards, while being afraid of him, trust him not to break out even if the door are left open and unlocked. His physical abilities are excellent as is his knowledge of using guns of almost any caliber.

Oh and if you don't know what I'm talking about, look up Guild Wars the Charr on google.

And 'The Charr,' are you making a Guild Wars reference?

OOC: Well, kind of. I borrowed the overall look and a few of the concepts, but I'd like to think I've developed them differently than to what was described in the game into something more my own. I just thought they'd be interesting, and that Guild Wars (a game I don't even like very much!) neglected them significantly. So I tried to flesh them out, inventing some things from scratch where necessary, and put them into MT; although they're not quite as advanced as some MT nations.

I wouldn't know about that, but I would be interested in learning about The Charr.

OOC: Thanks, check the wiki links in my signature if you want (they still work, I've linked them to the read-only version of NS Wiki, which might be a little out-of-date but otherwise accurate). I got a bit carried away with the typing though, so you might not want to read them.

In conventional warfare, with guns and armour and stuff, Charr aren't 'better', they're just different - they can take more of a beating and carry heavier equipment, but at the same time they're slower, lack long-term stamina, and they present slightly bigger targets to shoot at. It's basically like comparing a tank to an IFV; an entirely different fighting style, each with its own advantages and disadvantages, but with neither rendered useless by the other. For example, the fittest human on the planet could easily outrun the fittest Charr on the planet, though if for some reason the Charr caught up with him, it'd be a different story entirely. In an un-armoured environment such as this RP, it'd be even closer though.

But in an RP like this I was just worried that they might seem a bit wanked - according to my own history of them, at least, they evolved specifically to tackle the large and dangerous predators of their homeland, long before the advent of technology in an era where intelligence alone might not have worked entirely. With guns you're alright, but in a hand-to-hand fight, the odds might be a little skewed towards the Charr combatant. I'd balance it accordingly though in this RP, of course.

But if that's alright with Orbath and all of the other participants I'd definitely be interested in joining. This sort of thing would definitely appeal to the Charr, as it'd be a chance for the dishonoured fellow to redeem his honour or die an honourable death in the process. One problem I've found in MT is finding people to accept a non-human species into their RP, especially the predator type. Plus it'd just be fun.

Of course if you (or others) don't want me to join, Orbath, that's fine. That's why I asked, after all!

Sounds alot like Battle Royale to me, only with burly criminals instead of Japanese school kids!

Well Eye of the North brought the Charr out a lot more, I personally don't like the bastards cause they're just warmongers. And GW2 is supposedly allowing people to play as them amoung other things.

OOC: That's what I thought! Only it doesn't seem as if they'll get the random weapons in this case.

OOC: Well that's one of the differences. The Charr in my nation don't really care about what goes on abroad, unless it directly infringes upon their sense of honour, as Tyria is their holy land (Tyria is just an island roughly the same as the map of the first GW). In fact there's even some degree of political strife resulting from the government aligning with a foreign, human alliance, and there are continually discussions about pulling out and returning to isolationism.

Nice, though you realize that Tyria is a continent that's connected to Elona (GW Nightfall). Yes, I play this game, though not as much as I used to. Anyway... I don't wanna clutter this up with something unimportant to the thread.

OOC: I know, I've just taken the vanilla Tyria and turned it into an island. I never liked the game... anyway, you're right. If you're really interested, as I said the links in my signature describe the Charr and their homeland as they relate to my nation.

Well, since it's been two days with neither a yea or nay, I'ma pop up a char and see if it gets accepted.

Name: Rose
Species: Albino Rabbit
Sex: Unknown (No one bothered to check)
Age: 24 (uncertain)
Height: 3'8"
Weight:43lbs
Fur: White, short
Eyes: Pink
Distinguishing Features: Top incisors have been filed to form a sharp point
Clothing Worn: None
Criminal Record: Murder, Rape with a Foreign Object, Assaulting an Officer, Resisting Arrest
Biography: Rose is the only name this odd bunny will give and the only one it will answer to. There is no record of Rose's birth, nor any family to be found. Rose was ruled as insane by three independent examinations, however this had no bearing on the rabbit's sentencing. Vulpes Vixenis law may be considered harsh, but they follow their non-human instincts when it comes to societal threats. Upon hearing of this interesting event, they opted to send Rose to the island instead of the usual, almost immediate execution. Rose was convicted of the murder of twelve individuals over the course of several months. The attacks were brutal in the extreme, and it was at first thought that one of the larger predators was responsible. Rose's highly unusual bite imprint was left on the neck of every victim, ostensibly the killing blow. All of the victims were tortured of the course of several days and sodomized in various ways. Rose was caught through a homeless outreach dental program.
