Hu Tian Di National Aerospace Department official announcement
乎天地航天局宣布

The HTNASD is currently scheduling a manned launch to space. While this has already been done by other nations, Hu Tian di has not done this yet. The event is almost entirely an object of prestige and carries almost no real benefit to science and to the nation. However, with this new step in the direction of a space station, our long term goal, we hope to continue our program towards the outer reaches of the system in the next hundred years.

The flight will test the systems developed for manned spaceflight by HuTianDi for the preparation of future flights. It is hopped that this will allow the next flight to also test equipment for EVA activity.

Enclosed flight information:

Mission Parameters: (planned)
Mission Name: DiYi TianShang FeiHang第一天上飞行
Perigee: 372 km
Apogee: 388 km
Inclination: 13°
Period: 103 min
Mission Plan:
The mission plan for the Tian Shang flight calls for the recently developed SSM [sealed space module] to be launched into a low earth orbit with the Long-4 rocket (龍-4) rocket. The carrier vehicle will launch the payload into a low earth orbit. The SSM module will be accompanied by an autonomous laboratory segment which will be left in space until its orbit decays in several months. The craft will then make 15 revolutions around the earth. The plan then calls for the craft to once again land in the atmosphere and land in the western territories of HuTianDi where the craft will make an ocean landing and subsequently be picked up by an aircraft carrier.

Craft specifications:
-=Carrier vehicle information
Vehicle class: Long-4 (龍-4)
rough shape: cylinder
Vehicle height: 68 m
Vehicle width: 3.5 m
Vehicle mass: 555,500 kg
Max Payload to LEO: 15,500 kg

Our humble nation wishes to join the likes of other great nations in the expanse of space and hope to have the support of other nations. The launch will be in three days (not RL... im going to try to make the next post either today to tomorrow). We hope that there will be no political hinderences to our launch.

OOC: I dunno... are you new here?

The Cessna Mustang, a small jet with New Brittonian markings, landed at the space center. Connie Cummings, a chubby mixed race Chinese-Brittonian in her early 40s was sitting in the seat. She was sipping on some water when the plane landed. Her assistant, Jon Donnelly a tall red haired man in her late teens, a college intern, said,
"We've landed."

As the stairs were placed next to the door, the assistant opened the door and looked out to see is their liaison had arrived.

Message to the republic of Ruccola:

We thank you for accepting our invitation to this momentous event in our nation's history. There is an airport located at the launch site and we hope to see you in due time.

Airport, day of launch

the Brittonian Jet landed at the airport. Slowly it moved into its desegnated parking area. Cai Lin sat at the greeting area when the ramp began to move. She lifted up her head and saw the doors begin to open.

She got up and went off to greet the people on the aircraft. Step by step she walked up to it as the door opened more and the stairs drew ever closer. Lin had black hair, about the only hair color in the country (unless the hair was dyed or the person aged), and the features other Chinese people.

soon she came up to the aircraft and greeted the embarking passangers.
"I am Cai Lin, I welcome you to our nation, and our space center called Tian Shand de Feng Zhong Xing." She gave a small bow as a car pulled up behind her. "behind me is your ride to the obervation center. i hope that you enjoy your time here." Lin moved off to the car and opened the door for the two. "If you have any questions, please feel free to ask the driver."

((OOC: you know... i think i used the wrong centre for the name of my launch site))

OOC: Yeah, It kind of sucks... NS isn't exactly a shining light of realism.

"Thank you very much", Minister Cummings said as she got up. She walked down with her ginger aide wearing a Brooks Brothers suit and a tall man, in his early 30s, weighing in at over 300 pounds, fat but muscular, a standard New Brittonian bodyguard. The New Brittonian official Diplomatic Security Corps bodyguards all had to have some prior "protection experience', either as a security guard, private bodyguard (the government made sure that the best bodyguards for the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister all were paid competitively, and that includes health and other benefits). Started by Prime Minister David Flower in 1998, all bodyguards were selected from New Brittonian nightclubs. All, who want to work on high profile assignments that is, were former bouncers. They were over 300 pounds and had multiple piercings and multiple tattoes.

Kobe Jackson, the bodyguard, was an African-Brittonian, his beefy arms looked like himself, as a person was wanting to burst out of his three-piece black pinstripe suit. Still, he stayed and walked down the steps. On his face were bronze polarized aviator sunglasses, and in his left ear was an earpiece to communicate with security agents. Although there was not much of a threat, Connie Cummings was a New Brittonian minister, and each one had one had to have at least one personal guard on international trips.

The assistant, Jon Donnelly, came out before the bodyguard. He was thin, lanky. He, although thin, had neither the slightest bit of meat or muscles on him, although he did look like some sort of a punk rocker, with his cleanly pressed suit and his, matching yet extremely thin, tie. Jon walked down the steps, and itched his face while landing on the foreign soil.

Connie Cummings was out at the front. She was wearing a navy business suit. It was not too small, but you could see her more developed breasts, which were larger due to her weight. Looking up, Connie's face was definately full. She was smiling, this was her first foreign trip, however her smile did show off her weight quite a bit. Her chubby cheeks were pressing onto her, already small, eyes. Her jet black hair was pulled back into a ponytail and was rather long. Connie's weight was apparent, whether you looked at her face which had the chubby cheeks and an apparent double chin, her midsection where there were fat rolls apparent, or her legs, which were also rather large.

The three walked down the stairs. Connie Cummings shook Cai Lin's hanbd and the bodyguard opened the car door. In the back seat, there were seats for the three Brittonians. Connie sat on the driver's door side, Kobe on the passenger's side seat, and Jon in the middle, squeezed between a large woman and a large man. The bodyguard's holster was squeezing into Jon Donnelly's right leg.

As Cai Lin sat down into the front passenger seat, Connie said,

"Thank you for this, your country is beautiful. I hope we can make great progress together."

The BBJ3 aircraft touched down at the launch site's airfield. Emblazoned with "REPUBLIC OF RUCCOLA" titles, its red and blue tail shone in the sunlight. Onboard were the Ruccolian Minister for Science and Technology Edward Mak, as well as his deputy Eva Verde. Like all Ruccolians, they were of Eurasian heritage, with a mix of Chinese and Italian blood.

The aircraft taxied to its allocated stand, stopping as the Captain slowed it and applied the brakes. A passenger stairs vehicle pulled up to the forward port cabin, and the door opened, with the delegation emerging from the aircraft.

(my apologies, tests and stuff going on, weekend now so some time)

[SC airport]
Another woman by the name of Bai Xue stepped up to the Ruccolan BBJ3 aircraft. The woman, dressed in a blue qipao, trailed behind some stairs. The door on the aircraft opened and the stairs pulled up to it. Lin stood at the bottom of the stairs. Here she waited as the Ruccolan delegation emerged. The delegation stepped down from the aircraft on the metal stairs of the specialized vehicle.

Bai Xue bowed and said, "Welcome to the Dominion of Hu Tian Di. We are glad to welcome the delegation of the only nation with an official embassy in our nation." She gave a slight glance to the side as another car pulled up. "Ah, your ride is here. Please follow me."

Slowly she walked over to the car and opened the door of the black government car.

"Please get in," said xue, "This is your ride to the observation building. We hope that this will better relations between our nations." She entered the "car" (actually a small limo) after the main members of the delegation. (other members unable to fit take other cars)

Soon after the car doors closed the car moved away from the area towards the observation building.

[Car 1]
Cai Lin (I hate names) sat int he front of the car she listened to the speech of the other people before replying to the last phrase, "Our country is indeed beautiful but other nations take little notice of our nation. We hope that this event will spur some more interest in our nation." She again looked ahead towards the front. The airport was now behind and ahead lay the now small launch tower and the smaller command center and behind all that the observation center (a safe distance away in the case of a mishap).

OOC: if anyone wants to use fluid time we can skip to the arrival at the building but its not required

(I have horrid posts.... also I like indenting now because I use a laptop and it looks horrid to have these long lines of text... but its annoying on my regular computer)

Science and Technology Minister Mak and Deputy Minister Verde walked down the stairs, greeting Xue and introducing themselves. "Thank you," said Mak. "We thought it important to be here to further bilateral relations."

The delegation proceeded to follow Xue to their vehicle and got in, thanking her for opening the door for them.

As the limousine pulled away from the airfield, Verde commented, "Wonderful weather today... perfect for a launch!"

"Out of curiosity, what other delegations will be present?" interjected Mak.

Xue sat across from the delegation in the fairly elegant limo and began to answer the questions of the delegation.

"The weather is perfect today," said xue as a small bump caused everything to take a little jump. "The launch will go on as scheduled later today. There is only one other delegation present here belonging to New Brittonia. Our country views it as a sad thing that no other nations want to take interest in our nation, and its first real step into the depths of space." Xue looked out the window as the car turned a corner once again revealing the large structure that housed the launch unit for the first manned space flight.

Mak frowned as he listened to Xue's reply. "I'm sorry to hear that," he remarked. New Brittonia... that sounded familiar, he thought.

"That's too bad for them," added Deputy Minister Verde. "They're missing an important event, and the chance to develop closer ties with Hu Tian Di."

After she had exited the vehicle, Verde gazed up at the impressive tower and wondered if it was a good idea to relaunch Ruccola's moribund space programme. Turning to Xue, she smiled, saying, "Lead the way, please."

Connie Cummings said,
"Thank you, it is a good thing to see foreign nations interested in space as well. Also, New Brittonia is a heavy investor in space technology and exploration."

"That is indeed a good thing to know." said cai lin. The obersvation building quickly came up and the car stopped. "It looks like we are here." Cai lin opened the door for the other delegates.

[With ruccola]
The guide took the party into the observation building. The floors were carpeted and the shoes of the party made little sound in the fairly large entry chamber.
"Dinner is first, however since that is still a few hours off I will first show you around this building." Xue first took them to multi-purpose room 1. It was currently arranged as an art gallery where some of the countries artists have created impressions of how the launch would be. There were also some photographs of older launches into space.

"This is the art gallery, feel free to look around. Many of these pieces have been created by artists for a competition sponsored by bai engineering. These are mostly amateur arists, however, like all nations there is great talent even in this large group of nonprofessionals. Over to the left on that wall hang some of the works created by professional artists."

"Wow, they all look spectacular!" remarked Verde. "I wasn't expecting to see an art exhibition." Meanwhile, Minister Mak was already closely examining some of the pieces, admiring the craftsmanship of the artists involved.

The deputy minister motioned to her superior. "Ed... Ed?" Turning to Xue, she chuckled, saying, "My, he's really engrossed in the artwork... I've rarely ever seen him like this before! By the way, Ms. Xue, will you be joining us for dinner?"
