Official Transmission From the Government of the Armed Republic of Flightopia to the Nations of the World:
June 7th, 2008; 2020 GMT

Nations of the World,

Over two years ago, the nation of Flightopia was attacked by unknown individuals with a nuclear weapon. This attack caused an extremely unstable situation in the nation, with anarchy almost taking a total hold. Since the attack, the government of Flightopia, decided to isolate our nation until order could be restored. All telecommunication lines, internet cables, satellite links, and pipelines into the nation were disconnected. No Flightopian citizens were allowed out of the country, and no foreign national were allowed into Flightopia.

During the period of unrest, several governments were formed in Flightopia and all fought for power. This power struggle lead to a very brief but deadly civil war. The military of Flightopia was and still is loyal to the original government, so the other rebel and insurgent forces were defeated very quickly. But, our previous President, Hunter Alldredge, his family, the Vice-President, and the Secretary of State were killed when a rebel crashed a Cessna Citation loaded with explosives into their helicopter as it was departing the capital. But, power was successfully transfered and the continuity of government was preserved. I Evan Silverson was the Secretary of Defense at the time, and was behind the Secretary of State in line for the presidency. Our nation in the aftermath, reunited under the original government.

It took only one year to restore order and reunite under one government. We spent this past year rebuilding our infrastructure, and slowly re-enabling our international communication networks. Let it be known to all nations, that we are not weak, and no attempts to exploit our past turmoil should be attempted. It will take time for our economy to return to it's full strength. But we as a nation are ready and able to engage in world commerce once again. Any nations with past import/export contracts with Flightopian companies are welcome to reestablish relations at any time. Also, any nations who ordered F/A-35 Talons or EB-180 Stargazers will have their orders filled in full if they so wish.

If any nations wish to reestablish their embassies, or apply to have a embassy, please notify the Flightopian State Department as soon as possible. Also, please inform the State Department if any treaties your government has with ours has been dissolved or revoked. Also, if any nations have any information on who perpetrated the initial strike on Flightopia, please contact my office as soon as possible. (OCC: You can RP if you wish as a nation w/ info, nation who sponsored the attack, a nation who wants to give aid, or a nation w/ an ulterior motive.)

We would be willing to trade with you precious metals such as gold, silver, and platinum. Also, we have several high-technology companies in Flightopia that are looking to expand their sales to out-of-country.
