A Ride To Valhalla [attn Izhevskia]
Allanean Aircraft Carrier Kali, off the Hashi shore
All pilots, this is red alert. I repeat, red alert. Strategic aircraft approaching at bearing Delta, Delta. All pilots, to your aircraft. Repeat, all pilots to your aircraft. It is an emergency. I repeat, this is an emergency. Possibility of nuclear attack imminent. Repeat, nuclear attack imminent. All forces to prepare for interception. CAP is already en route.
Indeed, the Combat Air Patrol of the Kali was already diverted – fifteen stealth aircraft (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9845541&postcount=725), speeding at full burn towards the approaching TU-95's. The CAP aircraft were, at the moment, carrying two AAM.176 missiles (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9845559&postcount=726) each. Their RADAR was off, to avoid detection by enemy aircraft, but they used the feed from Allanean ground-based OTH RADAR to do their jobs – and their jobs were to launch a single missile each at the incoming Tupolev bombers. Five seconds later they would fire the other missile and break formation.
But the urgency of three strategic bombers heading towards Allanea was not limited to that. From the carrier, planes were already taking off – and its escorts, four Town-class (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13249701&postcount=20) AA cruisers, were preparing to fire their weapons.
Elsewhere
“To all Allanean military personnel in the Hashi subcontinent. This is Grand Admiral Friedrich Simmons, in command of the Hash Defense Fleet, and of all military forces on the subcontinent. I cannot elaborate at the moment, but I will be brief. Foreign troops are even now invading our motherland. Even as we speak, enemy aircraft speed towards the state capital, possibly carrying nuclear weapons. Arm all AA stations and prepare to fight”
All between the shore and the state capital, dozens of military bases came to life as wakened beasts. Everywhere, hundreds of AA launchers were being prepared. Civilians who had caught the emergency announcements on radio were beginning to get down into bomb shelters. F-16Vista fighter-bombers and ASFs were being armed for battle.
“Freemen, soldiers, Allaneans, I do not have much of a speaking talent, but let me be clear on this: We are going to win this thing. And when we're done, the President and his Army will come, and they're going to kick these guys' ass so hard, they'll think they've died and gone to hell – and then they'll really die and go to hell.”
“That is all. May God bless Allanea.”

"Enemy aircraft spotted at 20º east, requesting permission to fire."
"Permission denied, get a read on the aircraft."
"It is an enemy aircraft, requesting permission to fire, sir!"
"Permission granted!"
The pilot pulled the switch and in white flash and trail of smoke, an R-77 Vympel- 66 pounds of high explosive, superior maneuverability, and unprecedented range- sped off to the enemy plane. He finished him off with a few rounds from the GSh-K.
Moments later, he saw the explosion- and much more. In an effort to conserve missiles, he called upon his fellow pilots to fire on the new planes. Then, the Tu-95 got an order.
"Drop all explosives payload on airbase. You will return to specific coordinates for refueling. We have Tu-160s coming in. Good luck." More missile trails came from under the planes.

A young man walked out of a van and approached the Izhevskian safehouse.
"Sir, I'm a representative of a group who helps young men and women in poverty to get good education. You know, when young guys like get out it the world it's real tough and we'd like- we hope- to build our future while we can. So we've been doing a fundraising campaign to support better education in poor neighborhoods. So, we've got a list of products-" He pulled out a piece of paper and showed it to the Izhevskian- "And we'd like to know if there's anything you want."
"Yeah, sure, why don't you come on in and we'll get you a drink or something. You can bring your friends in too, we'd like to speak with them."
"Oh, thank you so much, sir!"
The young man sprinted to the car, got a few men out of it, and jogged back into the safehouse. He sat down on a couch, and three Izhevskian soldiers greeted him.
"Nice front, comrade, I was fooled until you showed me the paper."
He smiled. "We do our best."
"Evidently. Do you have news from the depot or from the motherland?"
"...Both. Firstly, the depot no longer exists. The ARA has given up. And currently, our air forces are exchanging missiles on Allanean Airspace. In fact, no far from the city."
"Good. But we'll need more men- and more space. What were our losses at the depot?"
"Approximately 160- we have about 140 men left. They're setting up a few safehouses at locations we don't yet know. For sake of ease, most of them are houses evacuated in the battle at the depot. But they only have side arms- Makarovs and Stechkins. We need someone to smuggle some Kalashnikovs and Dragunovs at least."
"Fuck, how much surplus do we have?"
A voice from upstairs. "None if these guys stay. We spent most of our space on ammo here."
"Damn! Our comrades could die!"
"Well with luck that won't be a problem. The Tupolevs are carrying ammo and arms to drop over. Let's hope we win this battle- hey, can you get me a water? I see you took care to make at least the bottom floor not stand out."
"Sure." He went to the fridge and give him the bottle, then went upstairs.
"Comrade, how is the sky looking? Any planes?" He laughed. "I'm just kidding with you." In person they were jokers, but they were elite soldiers.
"Can't say what they are, but I see some insane jet trails."
"Everyone in the basement! Now!"
OOC: So, any casualties? None of the three TU-95s are hurt whatever, despite each being targeted by at least 10 missiles with longer range than an R77?
IC: Five of the Allanean aircraft were shot down by the enemy planes before they broke formation, but nothing was yet over. Hundreds of Allanean planes were now taking off from both carriers and airbases all over the country, and even as the enemy approached the shoreline, they would be exposed to unbelievably concentrated fire. Two of the air defense cruisers that were escorting the Allanean Kali fired their entire missile payload – several hundred missiles each – at the three approaching Tu-95. The shore air defense batteries followed up by a similar responses.
And if that failed, Allaneans had some serious backup.
OOC: What happened to the Tu-95's? Were they succesfully shot down? And I *really* do not recommend you try and use nuclear weapons against Allanea.

The next plane to take off was a modified An-225- the largest, most powerful plane in history, used to bring space shuttles out of space. Now, it was carrying 450 soldiers- and 8 of them were taking off. Likewise, another Tu-160 was preparing to take off- carrying nuclear weapons. As the Tupolev pilot took off- he and his co-pilot radioed to control. "Comrade, are you sure we must drop our payload? What about the Allanean proletariat?"
"Boys, the revolution's over. We're fighting a war."

OOC: So, any casualties? None of the three TU-95s are hurt whatever, despite each being targeted by at least 10 missiles with longer range than an R77?
OOC: You never RP'd them firing missiles. So I'll say that 1 Tu-95 went down, 1 dropped its payload, the other returned to base prematurely. And also that 4 out of 15 Su-47s are down. I'm calling a moderate success. That okay?
OOC: I did. Extensively. In the first post. AFTER that, I further laucnhed at the TU-95s, which are compeltely unstealthy, several hundred missiles. On the other hand, your SU-47's should be perfectly unharmed.

Now, 120 brand new MiG-1.44s were taking off to Allanea. These were the best of the best- save the scores of PAK FAs in production and developement. They were followed by more Antonovs. Submarines were moving in to cut off the sea defenses- a massive ground invasion was being prepared. The Antonovs this time carried not just soldiers, but Tanks and Helicopters, ready to drop liberation all over the country. The newest battle of Britain- coupled with the new Normandy- coupled with what could become the new Stalingrad- was about to begin. This. Was. War.
From Allanea's carriers there rose a fleet of air superiority fighters - stealthy Maccabean-made ASFs, 300 in number. They hoped that their simple numerical superiority and thier stealth would dea
In the meanwhile, the Allaneans prepared a counterattack, terrible in scope and in firepower. From airbases in various Allanean colonies, 1,500 B-22 heavy bombers took off, with LU-45's and F-16 Vistas as their escorts, at a ratio of five per every plane. They carried vast amounts of anti-ship guided missiles – 45 per every heavy bomber – and they were headed straight towards the Izhevskians border. Allanea had a plan.

OOC: Oops, sorry, I was focusing on posting. So let's say that now no Su-47s went down, two Tupolevs went down, and one dropped its payload. Moderate failure. And hundreds of missiles? That's over 33 missiles per Tupolev, if you're not shooting at my Sukhois. Overkill?
OOC: Grrr timewarp. For one, the idea was to ensure 105% all three would die, at about... 70 rockets per Tupolev. Two, click on the page in my sig - there are countries were the word 'Allanea' means overkill.

Now over 1,200 Sukhoi-47s were mobilized over Izhevskia, and thousands of SAM sites were up and operative. Soldiers were preparing sites for an imminent invasion. Citizens were put in bomb shelters, their houses were turned into military bases.
---
Meanwhile, Hundreds more planes with thousands of soldiers were off towards Allanea. In just a few weeks of war, things were heating up. The Tupolevs were nearing their destination- they had recieved no orders not to drop their payload.

Okay, that's a fucking insane waste of resources, but if you feel like it fine. Did they fall over land or sea?
OOC: You are sending stratbombers to my nation. As far as I know, they could be carrying nuked. I'd rather waste some rockets than let a city full of civilians be leveled.
IC:
The Allanean aircraft did not have any intent to attack the Izhevskian mainland. Instead, they launched a hail of cruise missiles, at approximately 600 kilometers' of range from the shore, to minimize the chance of being attacked. In total, between them they launched 67,500 missiles, all aimed at SAM sites. They knew that the majority would be shot down, but they also knew they had a large chance of hurting the enemy rather badly.
In the meanwhile, the Allanean fighter-bombers attacked the AN-225s and Tu-160. The exact same tactic was used as before - the enemy ASFs were not attacked at all, but instead, the air-to-air missiles were all expended upon the enemy aircraft, long before they would even enter the skies above Allanean coastal waters. This time the ASFs would launch four missiles each - 1200 missiles, evenly distributed between 9 aircraft. Something had to give.
In the meanwhile, from the Allanean mainland, ten carrier battlegroups and five force-projection battlegroups left towards Izhevskia.
The Allanean military in peacetime was larger than the entire population of Izhevskia, and Allanea had the intent of exploiting the difference to the full

OOC: Um, how do you have the ability to maintain that sort of production? In any case.
The Sukhois fired most of their missiles at the enemy planes. 6 Antonovs went down, but due to their huge nature many paratroopers survived and made it to the beach. The other two dropped on the beach and one was destroyed on return. In all, just 1,300 soliders were yet on the beach, and 7 aircraft down. Now, 30 Typhoon submarines were firing at aircraft carriers and another fleet of 150 cheaper AN-72s came in carrying 200 troops each. Sukhois began softening up beach defenses and some Tupolevs had reached their destinations- but only conventional payloads were dropped. The largest bomb dropped was a single FOAB on Progressi-city. All in all, it was again a moderate failure.
Three safehouses were mobilized and Spec-Ops troops were doing what they could- cutting phone and electric wires, planting and detonating explosives on roads and railways, destroying police and military cars, and detonating 22 kg of TATP in a major city square. They did take losses- 20 out of 60 men. They created havoc and, accompanied by carpet bombing and a FOAB, plunged the city in total chaos and anarchy. They were calling on citizens to fight for independence.
OOC: No clue why you ignored the presence of over 100 troops in your cities, but okay.

Now, four RS-24s took off towards Allanea. They were not the only ones- 6 SS-27s, 2 SS-25s, and yet more troops and aircraft. With little to no resistance, the Spec-Ops were continuing to fight-and destroy. Typhoons continued to arrive and fire at naval craft. Beaches became flooded with soldiers.
OOC: You currently have a dozen missiles flying at you- many of them MIRV'd. There's not much you can do to stop them, much less the RS-24s.
OOC: I have a nation of 10.9 billion people, and a per capita GDP of a major Western country. 75% of my Federal government's budget is diverted into military production. Also, how many of those safehouses do you have?
An IC answer is forthcoming in 45 minutes.

[QUOTE=Allanea;13747797]OOC: I have a nation of 10.9 billion people, and a per capita GDP of a major Western country. 75% of my Federal government's budget is diverted into military production. Also, how many of those safehouses do you have?
OOC: 6 or so. Not many, but you're not doing anything, so they're more or less free to wreak whatever the fuck havoc they want.
And uh, wow, that's a big fucking nation. Okay.
Further OOC comments all go here. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13747886) An IC post is still forthcoming.
There were many good news for the enemy that day. For starters, five Allanean carriers have been sunk, and three more, heavily damaged, were already sinking off the Hashi shore. Across the Hash, dozens of civilians have been killed by sabotage, and several hundred by bombings. But that was were good news ended.
The enemy ICBM launches were responded to - mostly by virtue of firing the payload of five Aries satellites (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=12199686&postcount=108) - ten Needler ABM missiles per every enemy weapon.
And that was not even everything. Whatever survived was then fired by Allanean USABM missiles - triggering megaton-yield explosions near the enemy missiles. Even if they were not hit with precision, it was not likely they would survive that - nor the fire from orbital chemical lasers that would then focus on them - nor the fire of ground-based ABM rockets.
The Allanean police have taken action, too - but often, they did not need to. The citizenry of Allanea was beyond angry - and not only did they shoot any Izhevskian soldiers they could find, but they also fired at some people mistakenly identified as Izhevskians. Such were the cruelties of war.
Wherever an Izhevskian Safehouse was found, the police would not bother with it - it would simply be surrounded, and then leveled with artillery.
As for the 1500 invading troops, five armored divisions (http://z12.invisionfree.com/Allanea/index.php?showtopic=17&view=findpost&p=6784651) were advancing in their direction. They would stop at a range of precisely 20 kilometers of the enemy. At that range, the Gargantel self-propelled cannon would begin firing, releasing, between them, five hundred shells per minute. They would continue to do so until they emptied their 40-round onboard ammo capacity.
From the sea, in the meanwhile, two Allanean cruisers began to fire their 14-inch cannon upon the concentration of infantry.
