Under the Westminster system Parliament passed bills and they were approved as statute, theoretically any bill could be repealed but something like an international alliance or treaty would certainly cause controversy... At approximately 9 o'clock in the evening Warminster Time the Imperial Crown Kingdom repealed the Alliance for the Preservation of Civilisation Treaty. All Clandonian assets were to be withdrawn back the Kingdom. The collapse of NATO had created a power vacuum as the projectional power of the tyrannies of Gholgoth retreated back to their region holdings, Haven was at last at peace again but with the rise of the Nuclear Commonwealth. The Prime Minister walked into the commons, a pleasant evening in Westminster with the bell calling for MP's to return to the chamber from their evening Pimms and Gin and Tonics on the terrace bar. As the sun set and the lights of the skycrapers of the City of Warminster shone, the economic power centre of commercial finance and banking that had driven the Clandonian economy in its revitalisation.
"Mr Speaker I would first like to thank the oppositon Liberal Democrats and Labour for their support in the vote to repeal the Alliance for the Preservation of Civilisation Act. Following the Questerian withdrawal I have been in talks with my Cabinet as well as selected members of the oppositon parties. Clandonia along with her allies, Praetonia, Questers and Willink is a nation of liberty. APOC was to counter the threat that the suposedly tyrannical nations of NATO and Gholgoth posed, now we face a new enemy alongside the traditional threats of communism and socialism. Nations of the Nuclear Commonwealth claim to liberal democratic entities, yes they may endorse economic freedom but behind this power is often forced capitalism and statist support for certain industries. Alongside their allies of Doomingsland they are bastions of angst and hatred for the liberalities that come from the Anglosphere nations of Clandonia, Praetonia, Questers and Willink. Nations like Doomingsland and No Endorse are on the same levels of statism as Automagfreek, these nations are the Thesis of Tyranny."
"While the threats of NATO and Gholgoth were remote in nature we face these new threats on our own doorstep in Haven. The proverbial leader of the Nuclear Commonwealth, No Endorse has its homeland within a few hours flight time of our Western border with Krendakov and our Northern Arctic Territories. A nation led by a tyrannical quasi-monarchy with an environment laid to waste by the obsession of militarised nuclear technology. The rights that most Clandonians and those of our Anglosphere allies take for granted would be seen as alien to those in other lands, we as part of the Kingston Pact must take up the issue of liberty and democracy and address by force those countries which detest or deter them. Even in Clandonia, a nation where the values of conservatism and economic liberalism dislike certain left wing elements, we do not ban left wing movements, trade unions or the opposition socialist parties? In the nations of the Nuclear Commonwealth such freedoms would be quashed with the but of a rifle or a prison cell."

The Royal Air Force and Fleet Air Arm will receive a further delivery of bombers to defend our Western flank from the Arctic Bases and on the ground the border with Krendakov will see increased military activity as our ground forces train with new equipment."

Echoes of shock and confusion swept through Whitehall tonight as Prime Minister Sir David Sistilin announced that the country was leaving the Alliance for the Preservation of Civilisation and laid into previous close allies such as Doomingsland and No Endorse for their views on liberty and poor human rights record. The PM addressed the issues of the changing power regime after the collapse of NATO and the reduction in the Gholgoth threat, referring to Haven and Clandonian colonial holdings. The Nuclear Commonwealth has been seen to fill the power vacuum left as NATO and APOC faltered with the rise of the Praetonian led Kingston Pact which Clandonia as signed up to. Questions have been raised for years over the closeness to countries like Doomingsland but the worries over a wider conflict with Gholgoth and countries like Automagfreek has meant a more Realist foreign policy approach was adopted until recently when the Foreign and Commonwealth Office announced a white paper entitled 'Liberal Realism, a sensible third option'. The paper advised the adoption of policy devised towards both the countries interests abroad and liberty.
Following the earlier Questerian announcement and the build up for joint military action with Willink against the communist dictatorship of Zanski. The Questerian PM also announced increased defence spending to combat Doomani military strength and also the power of the Questerian Navy in Western Haven. The Sistilin Government has been committed to increased defence spending and the end of the speech announced further deployments of military forces to protection Clandonia and interests.
