Diamid Passes Landmark Savings Act For Future
In a surprise move today, contrary to the belief of many spokespeople of the Diamid, The Emergency Fund Act resolution was drafted into law to take place immediately. This act, regarded by many to give the central government an excuse to over-tax and over-budget was recognized as a "necessary measure to ensure the freedom of Gahrodanthians everywhere," according to LiirHrall-Sa representatives heading the resolution.
For the unaware, the act enables the federal government to take governmental waste, normally considered to be money that is immediately taken out of circulation, and funnel it into a large bank account to be used in the future. Although passed under heavy speculation by Diamid Speaker Sagald Sjet-Sa and the majority party, the three party alliance that supported the resolution believes that the money will ensure the economic and military safety of the future of all Gahrodanthians.
"As it stands today our nation is very open to attack," said Karan Nabal-Sa, primary supporter of the now law. "It is up to us to ensure we have a large disposable income at the ready should the need arise to use it."
The law, which comes into effect as of the beginning of the next fiscal year, would give the Diamid a large, virtually unregulated bank account in which they may appropriate funds wherever they desire. "This is absurd!" stated Paktu representative and Sjet supporter Mairlai Paktu. "We're about to entrust the Diamid, wise as it is, with money, of which they basically determine how much goes in, and where it is spent, and with no regulations?!" Paktu-Sa in the Diamid are, with over-whelming support of the Sjet leadership, pressing for immediate restrictions to be placed on the accumulation of these funds and much more importantly - how and where they can be spent.
So far, the tri-party leadership headed by LiirHrall has been overwhelmingly in support of restrictions to be placed on the account, and "Both sides are right now coming to a peaceful and meaningful way to control this money in the best interest of Gahrodanthi citizens everywhere," according to a Diamid spokesperson.
