Siesatia

The Unified Worlds of Siesatia consisted of 32 Controlled Systems; all of which contained within the Gaian Nebula, and twelve assorted colonies in various systems… It was about to get smaller.
The Antarctic and Lunar territories in Sol were expensive for what they did, Research and Development, Force Deployment, Power Generation, it generated little revenue for the nation, and Vector Intergalactic had long since pulled their corporate assets pulled out of the system. It existed with large degrees of autonomy, and much of the pervasive technology that existed in the rest of the nation was not to be found here. The two Weeping Willow Battlebarges were extremely old, nearly six-hundred years, and were not slated to be replaced any time soon… They spent their lifetimes under the water; connected to the ice caverns below the ice shelf…The area even had its own military, the Zone Area Patrol, or ZAP, kept the colony secure. The Lunar territories contained the original Siesatian nation, hugly outdated technologies; it largely relied on Plasma Generators and technologies… The Freestar II, long decommissioned, sat on the surface of the Moon, providing the area with a working military spaceport.
The area was considered backwater, those who lived in these desolate areas weren’t pioneers or miners, they were simply the lowest level of the mostly equal Siesatian society, little money when compared to the rest of the nation, and they did most of their trade with the Earth nations.
Recently, the costs to maintain the colonies were on the rise, movements to modernize the aging infrastructure had been repeatedly shot down, until the point where none of the systems were compatible with modern Siesatian technology. The space-boom, the expanding territories in space, various wars, and the economic boons of many centuries had driven the problems of this region from thought. The Senate, and World Union were looking at the rising costs of running these last vestiges of the Old World, history not worth saving… It was that day, that the Siesatian Sol Territories were officially cast from the Union, to form a new nation… The Lunar Union of Siesatia was formed… The Unified Worlds of Siesatia protested the use of the name, but, in the end, dropped the subject.
The Lunar Union was immediately overhauled, a 0% tax rate, long a hailing point of the strong nation was changed to a flat 5% Income tax, the revenue from this was used to revamp the Infrastructure and rebuild the aging sections of the nation. Luna City, long dark, dusty, and dreary, was Bright, Clean, and vibrant. The new capital was a center of life, business and government. The Freestar II had lifted off, and in its place, a new, permanent, modern spaceport was under construction… The ex-flagship was now being refurbished, crews being trained, and a new generation of fighter pilots trained to operate from it.
In the Antarctic Territories, the two Weeping Willow Battlebarges sat on the surface of the ice, surrounded by a veritable city of engineers, electricians, and workers swarmed around and inside it. Working on restoring the behemoths to full readiness. The Lunar Union, now free of the constraints of the Unified Worlds, began to sell Electricity to neighboring nations, launching satellites, organizing space programs, or assisting in any other way they could. The area was thriving as it hadn’t done in many years…
OOC: This is just a little thread about the formation of the Lunar Union of Siesatia, it is my PMT/Low FT side… Returning to the roots of NS as it were. Get away from the tech wanking, get back to the classic roleplaying we had in ‘04-’05. It will be availiable for roleplaying, and should be considered seperate from the Unified Worlds of Siesatia, which is my Far-Future Tech nation.
