HISTORY

The P270B “Diablo” is a slightly enlarged and enhanced version of the original P270A “Diablo” range of handguns which it will replace in serial production during 2009. The P270A has since it’s introduction in 2007 been widely exported and licensed in a number of nations including Imperial isa, Zinaire, Alfegos, Leistung, Madurastan, Cazatania, Central Prestonia, Oily Prata, Coorsota, Ustia, Aissur and Parilisa. It is also the standard sidearm of the ODEPOL and ODEFOR agencies of the Oceanic Defense Coalition.

The P270B “Diablo” builds on the key qualities of its predecesor by combining its outstanding accuracy, quality and reliability with a number of improvements. These include a new manually operated external safety and decocker, a crisper adjustable trigger pull, improved ergonomic frame and grip, a under-molded universal MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail, a well supported chamber designed from the outset to feed and fire +P loadings and .40/10mm factory ammunition and handloads, a loaded chamber indicator, and new higher capacity magazine feed system.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The P270B “Diablo” Handgun System is a family of short recoil operated, locked breech, semi-automatic magazine fed handguns chambered in a variety of popular hand gun cartridges including 9 mm Parabellum .40 S&W, 10 mm Auto and .45 ACP.
The P270B has been designed for military, para-military and law enforcement applications and includes four full-sized high capacity service models (Long Slide, Combat, Tactical and Duty); and two concealed carry models (Compact and Subcompact) that have shortened slides, barrels, grip frames and dust covers.

Construction

The frame and reciever are made of abrasion and impact resistant DuPont Zytel Super Tough ST-8018 polymer (14% short glass-fibre reinforced Nylon 66 polyamide) over a lightweight AISA 416 stainless steel chassis. Removable non-slip side panel pistol grips are made of Carbon Kevlar (a carbon-fibre and Kevlar aramid fibre mixed weave in an epoxy resin matrix.) These panels do not shrink, warp, crack or splinter under stress like rubber or wood, and will protect the firer’s hand from an explosive slam-fire failure of the weapon. There is a customer choice in furniture finish between olive drab green (A Pattern or “Arcturian” pattern) or matt black polycoat (Z Pattern or “Zinaire” pattern).

The slide, barrel, breech and bolt are milled from AISA 416 chromium-nickel stainless steel solid blanks. The barrel is of two piece construction and has a chromium plated rifled polygonal bore that reduces deformation of the bullet and enchances velocity. The polygonal rifling is six grooved with a right hand twist and lacks corners at the bottom of the grooves where fouling would otherwise accumulate. The slide has a corrosion resistant salt bath nitriding Tennifer surface finish. Internal metal parts, including springs, are coated with a special Dow Corning anti-corrosion process to reduce friction and wear.

Ergonomics

Particular attention was focused on redesign of the frame, which has a more ergonomic grip with a removable backstrap and grip panels, a finger grove frame reccess and a 111° grip angle that balances the weapon at the natural shooting point of the hand. A MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail is noow molded underneath the barrel on the front reciever for use with tactical accessories (see below).

The trigger guard has been reduced from the first generation P270A model but remains oversized for use with gloves, and a recurved hook for the index finger is also retained on Combat and Tactical models. The slide is radiused and smoothed so as to be snag free and allow quick draw from a holster, the Duty, Compact and Subcompact models also having an unsual sloping angle (again borrowed from the P270A model) for superior draw. The slide also has deep widely spaced cocking serrations on the front and rear ends for superior grip when handling with wet or gloved hands.

Action

The P270B is striker fired, with an internal firing pin safety and exposed hammer. The operating system is based on a modified Browning-type linkless cam-locked breech action using a shaped cam to withdraw the barrel from engagement with the slide. The rifled barrel is secured in place by a steel cross pin to the frame and fits to the chamber, locking surfaces and a rear unlocking lug, that also controls movement of the slide and ejection port. The recoil buffer is a captive dual recoil spring system, this being a buffering spring telescoping a piston containing a return spring fixed to the forward stop underneath the barrel.

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c197/USCMC/nationstates/P270B_Diablo_Combat_legacy.png
(A P27OB Diablo Combat Pistol with a legacy P270A pattern magazine inserted into the grip.)

The feed system is a tapered double column magazine, except for the Subcompact model that uses a single column magazine to fit a slimmer grip. Magazines load into a bevelled polymer framed magazine well designed for quick operation. Older P270A pattern magazines can feed and fire but will not fit exactly into the new grip. The new magazines are constructed of corrosion resistant stainless steel polished to a No. 8 mirror finish for frictionless drop free operation, and have a black polymer floor plate that provides an extended finger rest.

The well supported chamber design is fully compatible with high pressure +P ammunition, and standard and specialised loads including frangible rounds for safe take down of subjects in a pressurised aircraft cabin, and a saboted light armour piercing (SLAP) round able to defeat US NIJ Level III body armour. A low barrel bore axis and crisp trigger pull reduces felt recoil and muzzle flip for greater accuracy on the first shot and multi-shot strings, and allowing faster indexing of the front sight during follow-up shots.

Trigger

There is a choice of a single action (SA) trigger with automatic safeties, combination double-action/single-action (DA/SA) with optional decocker and manual safeties providing the additional option of firing in either SA or DA mode, and a self-cocking double action only (DAO) firing mechanism.

Trigger pull weight is adjustable between a short and light 6.6 newton (N) (1 1/2 lbs) and a long and heavy 45.5 N (10 lbs), all having a 3 mm (1/8 inch) of travel. DA/SA provides a heavy 27.5 N (6 lbs) trigger pull on the first shot and a lighter 11.25 N (2 1/2 lbs) trigger pull on all subsequent shots. DAO is optimised for combat shooting with a typical 32.5 N (7 1/4 lbs) two-stage pull that has a crisp and sudden let off and very short trigger reset, while SA has the same weight of pull with a shorter reach.

Safeties

The P270B is equipped with multiple redundant safety and indicator systems designed to enhance the pistol's safety and reliability. These consist of automatic drop, firing pin block and out-of-battery safeties, a trigger safety lock and manual safeties. There is also a magazine release button and slide stop for rapid reloading. A loaded chamber indicator is located atop the slide just behind the ejection port that engages whenever a cartridge is in the chamber, and is a non-protruding red coated pin that can also be felt by hand in the dark.

The Duty, Compact and Subcompact models have an additional squeeze-cocker grip safety and thumb safety located on the left side of the slide that locks both sear and slide. All models have common safety features that allow the gun to be carried “locked and cocked” at Condition One for instant deployment. This comprises an ambidextrous frame safety/decocker lever that disconnects the trigger and hammer and a trigger safety lever that locks the trigger from moving backwards and must be depressed to release and fire the weapon.

Sights

The slide is milled with dovetails that will accept a wide variety of factory and aftermarket tritium self-luminous sights. The suplied sight is a three-dot combat type with a rear notch adjustable for windage (1 click per 0.5 MOA) and a front blade. Both sights are machined from lightweight solid billet 6061 T6 aircraft grade aluminum alloy. There is one large front dot and two rear dots, each being a glass lamp filled with pressurized tritium gas that glows a bright green at night or in low light, while inlaid white rings provide a white dot in daylight.

P270B Diablo Combat Pistol with a MK 2 Multifunction Illuminator mounted on underbarrel accessory rail

The MK 2 Multifunction Illuminator is a combination infra-red and visible light solid state Class IIIa laser aiming module weighing only 127.5 g. It is housed in a fully sealed, ruggerised, weather-proof polymer housing and is mountable to a weapon by a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail. The unit can be boresighted to the weapon and will retain zero when removed and remounted. An activator switch lever on the module is positioned just forward of the trigger guard for easy operation, or the illuminator can be controlled using a remote cable switch attached to the pistol grip.

The laser diode produces a peak power of 7 milliwatts (mw) adjustable by a temperature compensating circuit to ensure a constant eye-safe power output level of 650 nanometres (nm). The laser diode is selectable between two visible light modes: flashlight mode (95 lumens brightness, range 50 metres) and aiming spot mode (range 30 metres in daylight and 450 metres in low light). The infra-red aiming spot mode has a range of 50 metres and is clearly visible to 2nd and 3rd generation night vision devices.

P270B Diablo Combat Pistol with SOCOM-style supressor mounted

The SOCOM-style supressor is a quick attach/detach combined muzzle compensator and sound suppressor that reduces noise, flash and recoil. It is mounted by muzzle threads and can be mounted and unmounted with no effect on weapon accuracy or zero. The supressor consists of an outer body of lightweight hard matt black anodised 6061 T-6 aircraft grade aluminum alloy, and inner vortex generating baffles for difussing muzzle propellant gases consisting one symmetrical blast baffle of ordnance grade MIL-A 46100 steel armour plate and several asymmetrical baffles of 2024-T3 aluminium alloy separated by spacers. The supressor is dry and maintenance-free in operation and can reduce recoil by 50%, sound signature to 28-33 decibels (dB), and totally elimninates muzzle flash.

Tactical Breaching Block

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c197/USCMC/nationstates/P270B_Diablo_Combat_Block.png
P270B Diablo Combat Pistol with tactical block with breech teeth and removable bayonet blade mounted on underbarrel accessory rail

The tactical block is a stand-off muzzle device mounting by the reciever rail of a P270B. It provides an unobstructed aperture that does not touch the barrel, and is of lightweight hard anondized aluminium alloy construction so as not to adversely affect balance or accuracy of the host weapon. A MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail is provided underneath for mounting tactical accessories. Four breach teeth protrude from the block that allow the firer to discharge into a door lock, window pane, or other obstacle without making contact at the muzzle, and is also usable as a skull crusher. There is a slot and locking mechanism to secure a M3-type bayonet blade by its tang. This may be used as a retention tool to prevent a bad guy from grabbing the gun during close quarters combat (CQC) such as room clearing.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The VP90 “Velociraptor” is a lightweight, single feed, short recoil operated, selective fired, tactical machine pistol. It is hammer fired from the closed bolt position for enhanced first-shot accuracy. The primary qualities of the “Velociraptor” is ultra compact size, high strength lightweight polymer construction and a super light recoil operating system. The VP90 is designed for combat in confined spaces and concealed carry, providing a multifunction personal defence weapon (PDW) with the power of a subbmachine gun in the form factor of an oversized pistol.

The VP90 is constructed as a reciever/frame with pistol grip, trigger guard and integral foregrip molded in monolithic carbon-fibre reinforced polymers. The reciever housing encloses the action consisting of a breech block telescoped around the rear barrel to form a recoil operated closed-bolt rotating barrel assembly. This locks and unlocks during the firing cycle to absorb recoil impulses. At the moment of firing the barrel is internally locked to the breech. Initially, it moves back with the breech under gas pressure, but after a 4 mm run it begins a 180° rotation clockwise. This is controlled by a cylinder fixed to the forward sleeve which engages a slot on the side of the barrel. By the time the cam reaches the end of the slot the barrel has stopped moving, but will have rotated enough for the breech to have unlocked itself. The breech continues moving to the rear, extracting and ejecting the empty case. This action is strictly reversed in the forward movement of the working parts; the breech is thus positively locked upon firing, whilst also delaying the subsequent opening. This helps to limit the recoil impulse, and to reduce the cyclic rate, which is 800-900 rounds per minutes.

The VP90 can fire both standard 9 mm Luger/Parabellum subsonic ammunition and 6.5 mm CBJ high velocity ammunition by a simple swap of the barrel and return spring. The 6.5 mm CBJ cartridge is dimensionally similar to a 9 mm cartridge with the case stretched and necked-down and loaded with a 4 mm sub-calibre tungsten penetrator on a lightweight polymer sabot. The 6.5 mm CBJ delivers terminal effects similar to full-sized AP rifle rounds to defeat body armour at short range, granting the weapon pistol-like handling with rifle-type performance. Magazines feed from the pistol grip which uses a proprietary 100 round drum magazine in the case of the 6.5 mm CBJ high velocity ammunition or a lower capacity (20 or 30 round) conventional magazine for feeding 9 mm ammunition.

Operating controls are fully ambidextrous including a T-shaped rear charging handle, and magazine ambidextrou release catch and push button cross-bolt safety located over the pistol grip. Fire control is a adjustable two-stage trigger using increasing pressure to select between single fire mode and full auto fire, and has a automatic safety catch that engages a firing pin/bolt block to prevent accidental discharge if dropped.

The reciever top and sides have molded in hard points for MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails. The top rail typically holds flip-up backup iron sights (BUIS) on quick-detachable mounts that provide a standard 3-dot combat sight when folded down and a rifle-style aperture and post foresight when flipped up. A side-folding polymer buttstock is mounted to the rear and has a rubberised non-slip buttplate. The stock swings clear of the trigger guard, ejector port, fore-end rails and rear charging handle, lying flush with the forward grip when folded. The weapon can be fired single handed with stock folded using the 3-dot combat sights, or two-handed with stock folded or extended and the BUIS flipped up.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The G500 Modular Weapon System (G500 MWS) is a family of lightweight, air cooled, short stroke gas piston operated, selective fire automatic rifles. The G500 can be fired from the shoulder or hip in full automatic fire or semiautomatic (single shot) mode. It has been designed around the 6.5x39 mm Grendel intermediate combat cartridge, a rimless and bottle-necked round similar to the M193/SS109 5.56x45 mm NATO round, that offers a good balance between relatively light recoil, high ballistic co-efficient (BC) streamlined bullets, and good accuracy over a range of distances.

A staff officer of the Etoile Arcture Defence Forces demonstrates the lightweight but tough construction and ambidextrous handling characteristics of a G500 Assault/Battle Rifle to visiting foriegn defence contractors

The G500 MWS is offered in a variety of customisable configurations including the G500 Assault/Battle Rifle (ABR) and G501K Assault/Battle Carbine (ABC), and the G550 Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) and a accurised SG555 Sniper Rifle System (SRS) that both provide superior terminal ballistics with long range sub-M.O.A. accuracy when using 6.5x39 mm Grendel Match ammunition. Other variants have also been produced by adjustments in bore, chamber and headspace, including a G505 Close Quarters Battle Rifle (CQBR) chambered in 6.8x43 mm Remington SPC, which is optimised for close quarters knockdown power at effective engagement ranges of c.200-300 metres; and the M506A Carbine Rifle chambered in the 5.56x45 mm NATO cartridge and developed as the service rifle for the Madurastan armed forces (see separate entry).

To achieve high durability, reliability and zero failure each G500-series weapon is manufactured to stringent ISO 9001 quality management standards, being constructed from high strength chrome-moly alloy steel and dust/snow/oil/water/shock-resistant polyamide thermoplastic materials. A weapon kit will typically consist of the rifle or carbine with a spring-locked folding buttstock, free-floating quad rail system on the reciever, a polymer magazine, QD mounts for sling swivels, rail-mounted backup iron sights which will co-witness with any aftermarket optical sight or telescopic sight, and three- or four-point tactical sling.

Construction

The G500 MWS comprises upper and lower recievers made of lightweight and temperature insensitive GF/PA-6 glass fibre/polyamide-6 thermoplastic (30% glass-fibre reinforced Polyamide-6), which are connected by tool steel cross-bolts. The barrel, bolt carrier group and firing pin are configured inline to reduce muzzle climb and consist of a no tools quick-detachable barrel/trunnion system secured by two lugs for rapid in-field replacement. GF/PA-6 thermoplastic is also used in construction of a single piece molded grip/trigger guard and a side-folding skeletonized buttstock that folds to the right and secures by means of a spring-loaded locking mechanism. The stock accommodates the 5th to 95th percentile male and female warfighter and is rugged enough to withstand the rigors of individual movement techniques. A non-adjustable cheek piece can be fitted to the stock to provide eye relief.

The barrel is constructed from AISI 4140 chrome-moly high tensile steel (MIL-S 6758 chromium-molybdenum alloy steel) with a corrosion resistant chrome lined bore and chamber to ensure long service life. The bolt carrier group and gas regulator are made from AISI 8620 chrome-plated alloy steel. Recoil springs and the return spring are made of oil-proof polyurethene. The barrel is threaded for a M16-type five-port QD flash hider. This is machined from case-hardened AISI 8620 bar stock steel and secured by a barrel nut detent. The hider has no downward facing port to to reduce firing signature by eliminating the kick-up and blowback of dirt and dust particles toward the operator, and can attach a QDSS sound supressor/muzzle compensator to fully eliminate accoustic, flash, and blast signatures. All exposed steel parts have a matt black MIL-DTL-16232G manganese phosphate corrosion resistant and rust-proof finish. Moving parts are coated in a maintenance-free molybdenum-disulphide dry-film lubricant for further rust and corrosion resistance and ensures operation under the most extreme climate and temperature conditions.

The ejector port is on the upper reciever and incorporates a spring-loaded dust cover and a deflector that throws spent cases forward and away from the shooter to conceal their location. Both upper and lower recievers are ventilated and four-quadrant MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails are molded directly into a flat-top reciever (full length) and in the 3, 6, and 9 O'clock positions around the fore-end (half length) that free float the barrel to enhance accuracy. The reciever rail can mount any aftermarket sights, and typically mounts a three dot combat type backup iron sight (BUIS) with either a rotary diopter or flip-up peep rear sight and a blade foresight, both being adjustable for windage and elevation. Tactical accessories can be mounted and remounted on the rails without affecting boresight/zero retention and weapon accuracy.

Action

The G500 employs a conventional gas piston operating system consisting of a gas cylinder above the barrel mounted on a free-floating trunnion system, with a gas piston driving a bolt carrier and a rotating bolt to lock the breech. To control recoil a tappet feeds gas from the barrel to the gas cylinder, which contains a piston that drives rewarwardly on the rotating bolt as it rides a bolt carrier on two machined bolt guide rods held inside the receiver. Breech locking is by a rotating bolt connected to a barrel extension using twin front lugs, the locking and unlocking being controlled by a S-shaped cam track on the bolt carrier.

The barrel itself free-floats the reciever isolating all mechanical movement. Both the guide rods and the gas piston are respectively telescoped by recoil springs and a return spring and are shrouded by a ventilated handguard to dissapait heat and allow gas to vent to the atmosphere. There is a three-port regulator on the gas cylinder which is turned by a gas key between three progressively larger apertures. The default first position cleans the piston and regulator to prevent fouling of the action (Self cleaning), and other positions will release more return gas to compensate for adverse hot and cold weather conditions.

Safeties

The weapon is hammer fired from the closed bolt position, with a automatic sear safety device to prevent out-of-battery misfires by blocking the hammer and firing pin until the breech has been closed and locked. A spring-loaded firing pin also prevents accidental discharges if the weapon is jolted or dropped. A non-reciprocating cocking handle is mounted on the left side of the reciever to allow the gun to be cocked quickly while leaving the right hand ready for firing, and does not cycle with the bolt and is locked in the forward position during firing.

Fire control

The pistol handle and trigger guard are built in one trigger group and are controlled by a Match two-stage trigger mechanism with a long initial takeup and a short surprise break trigger pull, both having a constant 3.175 kg (7 lb) weight of pull. The safety/selector switch is ambidextrous and closely modelled on that used on the Heckler & Kock G36 rifle. The trigger group is of the ‘drop in’ replaceable type, the standard trigger group allowing to execute single fire, semi-auto (a 3-round burst), or automatic fire, with the selector moving between all modes in only 90° of travel. Alternatively a single shot and semi-auto fire (with a 2- or 3-round burst) trigger group can be installed.

Standard sights

The G500 MWS mounts a diopter rear and blade front sight on its full length top rail which are replaceable without loosing zero and co-witness front and rear with aftermarket optics for both eyes open aiming. They are constructed from solid billet 4130 alloy steel and mounted by forged aluminium (6061-T651 aircraft grade with a MIL-A-8625 hard anondized finish) on QD mount blocks. The rear sight is a rotary diopter, which is a drum and notch that turn between multiple apertures beginning with a ‘V’ aperture for fast target acqusition at ±100 m and holes corresponding to firing ranges 200 m, 300 m and 400 m. The front sight is fixed consisting a blade inside a hooded ring. Both sights are adjustable for windage and elevation, and have 2-dot rear and 1-dot front luminous tritium night sights inlaid with white day sights.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The G550 Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR) and SG555 Sniper Rifle System (SRS) are each air cooled, short stroke gas piston operated, semi-automatic adaptations of the G500 Modular Weapon System manufactured to ISO 9002 quality control standards. They are designed as anti-personnel and light anti-materiel
precision sniper tools able to engage targets with accurate and rapid fire. Both weapons employ a lengthened gas system and barrel to increase muzzle velocity, shrouded in an extended handguard with molded quad MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail system for mounting aftermarket sights and accessories. Other features include a adjustable hand stop rest on the pistol grip, optional flexible mirage deflector and adjustable stocks. The operating system is otherwise identical to the G500 series consisting of a gas piston mounted over the barrel which actuates a bolt carrier and a two-lug rotating bolt. All internal parts are hard chrome plated for enhanced reliability and the gas system is self-regulating and self-cleaning. The G550 shares many parts commonality with the G500, while the SG555 differs by it’s greater use of composite materials.

MAJOR CHARACTERISTICS

G550 Designated Marksman Rifle: The G550 is a long-barrel combat accurised version of the G550 weapon system featuring a Match free floating 416R pre-hardened chromium stainless steel bull barrel with a 1:8 (203 mm) rifle twist ratio. The barrel is threaded with a Vortex flash hider at the muzzle that can accept QDSS supressor/silencers. The handguard is attached only at the receiver end, providing a fully floating barrel and avoiding any change in zero when used with a bipod. The free floating MIL-STD-1913 quad rail system of the G500 is retained and 12-slot ABS plastic handguards and a Harris swivel model bipod are typically attached to these. A solid polymer buttstock is also fitted with plastic spacers to adjust for length of pull and has a adjustable cheek piece for eye relief. Match ammuntion is fed from a straight 26 round capacity magazine converted from surplus aluminium alloy M1/M14-type magazines.

SG555 Sniper Rifle System: The SG555 is of all-composite construction using carbon fibre composites which are self-lubricating, corrosion resistant and resistant to carbon fouling, resulting in reduced maintenance requirements. The barrel, chamber, breech and gas system are produced from 4140 solid billet chrome moly steel that has been bead blasted and manganese phosphated to provide a non-reflective, corrosion resistant matte black finish meeting mil-spec requirements and have all edges dehorned for operators safety. A reinforced composite gun tube is constructed from an inner chromium plated steel Match liner fluted for stiffness and accuracy, wrapped in an outer carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) sleeve (70% unidirectional carbon fibres in a cured epoxy resin matrix). The composite barrel is of high strength, rigidity and very low weight, is self-lubricating, corrosion resistant and resistant to fouling, and disperses heat better than a unitary steel barrel. Both the breech and muzzle are threaded into the bore for maximum stiffness and there is an integral ported muzzle break/jump compensator.

A Emerson Optronics 6-24x50mm Adjustable Ranging Telescope is mounted on the flat-top reciever by 30 mm scope rings. The scopesight features bullet drop compensation and trajectory correction from 300 to 1,200 metres. The sight is ballistically tuned to Match grade 6.5 mm Grendel ammunition to deliver sub–minute of arc (MOA) accuracy and first round hit probability. The optics are protected by a laser filter/anti-reflective device.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The MP510/511/512K is a family of gas-retarded, blowback operated, selective fired submachine guns, firing from the open bolt position. It is based on the design concept of the G500 Modular Weapon System (http://z11.invisionfree.com/Sequoia_Defence/index.php?showtopic=4&st=0) of which it shares a high degree of parts commonality, but differs in the type of operating system and feed mechanism used.

The upper and lower reciever of the MP51x series resemble the G50O series and in particular the G501K carbine in shortened form. Both the upper and lower are constructed from shock, temperature and corrosion resistant polyetherimide polymer molds reinforced by aluminium alloy inserts and secured using steel cross-bolts. The eight inch barrel is cold hammer forged from a solid steel blank and features a hardened chrome-plated bore, chamber, bolt and gas system for maximum corrosion resistance and durability. The barrel has polygonal rifling with a twist ratio of 1 turn in 16 inches, and has a quick mount on the muzzle for attaching a snap-on QDSS sound/flash compensator.

The upper receiver contains the operating system, ejection port with spring-loaded dust cover, cocking lever and side-folding skeletonized polymer buttstock using a positive locking action. The lower receiver includes the magazine well (flared to assist quick magazine changes) and magazine catch, bolt catch, pistol grip and molded trigger guard with ambidextrous safety/selector levers. Operating controls are identical to those found on any G500 series rifle allowing for easy familarisation, and has a three-round burst trigger group and a firing pin block to prevent accidental discharge if dropped. The weapon utilises a straight polymer magazine that has molded studs enabling multiple magazines to be snapped together. A transluscent window on each magazine provides visual indication of ammunition remaining.

Internally the MP51x series departs from the G500 pattern having a barrel and a gas cylinder fixed to the frame, and replacing the gas operated bolt system with a gas-actuated delayed blowback operating system. This functions by venting a portion of the propellant gases generated during firing from the barrel back into the breech by a ported gas cylinder above the barrel. This delays the rearward movement of the bolt, which is never locked. The weapon operates in simple blowback mode until the point the cartridge crosses the opening of the gas cylinder, at which point a self-centering piston closes off the port. Through precisely machined and self-cleaning parts the system is highly reliable, and the non-moving barrel combined with a straight line recoil path and solid weight has the effect to signficantly reduce felt recoil so increasing accuracy on the first shot and controllability thereafter. The weapon is fully able to fire all types of ammunition including supersonic and subsonic loads (with a silencer), high impulse +P cartridges and training rounds.

The MP51x series is produced in three configurations with all models featuring a full length MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail molded directly into a flat-top reciever, and fixed sights consisting a HK-style rotary diopter rear sight (http://www.hkpro.com/sights.htm) and front hooded post with Tritium luminous dots for night shooting. The MP510K is the main military and police model chambered in 10 mm Auto. It is arranged with four-quadrant rails with a top rail and three fore-end rails for attaching a variety tactical accessories including sights, tactical lights and vertical grips. The MP511K and MP512K are offered in numerous calibres and differ by having only a top rail with integral handguard around the fore-end that is drilled and tapped for attaching tactical accessories.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The G1 Rifle is a robust, air cooled, magazine fed, gas operated, selective fire weapon firing from the closed bolt position. The G1 is a product of the Redwood Armoury, now Sequoia Weaponworks, having originally entered service with the National Army of Etoile Arcture as the G1A1 in 1952 during the height of the Weccenfeld-Damiren War. The G1 was updated to G100 standard in 1984 and was retired from frontline use in 2001 following the introduction of the G500 Modular Weapon System. (http://z11.invisionfree.com/Sequoia_Defence/index.php?showtopic=4&st=0)

The G1 has a regulated short stroke gas piston operating system of conventional design consisting of a gas cylinder above the barrel, gas piston driving a bolt carrier, and a two-lug rotating bolt to perform breech locking. The gas cylinder is fitted with an adjustable regulator working as a valve with three open positions for admitting more or less gas to compensate for fouling and use in hot or cold weather conditions. A fourth closed position converts the rifle to a single-shot hand loader for launching rifle grenades with blank ammunition. The barrel terminates in a flash hider ported to throw gas forward to propel rifle grenades, as well as act as a muzzle break. This was replaced in later G100 models by a five-port flash hider.

The trigger group is mounted into the pistol grip unit, which is hinged to the receiver and folds down and forward for disassembly and maintenance. The trigger mechanism allows selection of single shots and full automatic fire only, controlled by a ambidextrous selector. The safety is an auto-sear device blocking the hammer unless the breech has been closed and locked. A non-reciprocating cocking handle is located to the right side of the receiver on the bolt carrier and does not move when the gun is fired. Sights comprise a hooded post fore-sight with Tritium dot night sight, and a rear diopter sight adjustable for windage and elevation.

The G1A1 was the standard model of the rifle until 1984, and was available in two models, the Battle Rifle (BR) and a Heavy Barrel Automatic Rifle (HBAR) that differed by including a fixed stock straight-line recoil path, long flash hider, carry handle and folding bipod. In 1984 a modernised G1, type classified the G100, was introduced to replace both G1A1 models chambered in the recently adopted 5.56 mm NATO cartridge. The new models included a G1 Assault Rifle (AR) and Short Assault Rifle (SAR).

The G1A1 orignally had laminated wood furniture including a fixed straight-line stock, pistol grip and fore-end. Later pattern G1A1 rifles and the G100 used heat-resistant glass-fibre reinforced plastic furniture and a tubular metal skeletonised buttstock folding to the right side. In 1993 the G100 was further modernised by replacing the metal stock with a side-folding polymer buttstock, a redesign of the handguards and addition of a folding bipod and carry handle. All G100 models were brought up to this standard and it remains the current production standard.

All G1/G1A1/G100 models were designed with simplicity, sturdiness, ease of maintenance and low production costs in mind. The G1A1 featured a stamped steel upper and lower reciever secured by tool steel pins and a non-fluted steel barrel. The later G100 differed by having a chrome lined steel chamber, barrel and gas system, a forged aluminium lower receiver and a stamped steel upper reciever that was drilled and tapped for mounting optical sights. A fore-end adaptor was also produced for mounting a licensed-produced M203 Talon 40 mm grenade launcher.

The rugged construction of the G1 family made them highly resistant to dirt, dust, moisture and temperature and were popular with operators, but the design lent itself to limited growth potential spelling the death knell of the weapon system. Dissatisfaction with the relative range and accuracy of the 5.56 mm cartridge spurred development towards intermediate cartridges resulting in the development of the G500 Modular Weapon System designed around the 6.5x39 mm Grendel cartridge and a quad MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail system.

The G100 is now limited to duty with the Etoile Arcture Gendermerie Force, while some reserve units of the Ground Forces have retained stocks of G100 rifles and HBAR automatic rifles as light machine guns.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The Advanced Grenade Launcher Weapon (AGLW) comprises two components installed on the MIL-STD-1913 accessory rails of a G500 host weapon to make the total package. These are the MK 13 Mod 0 Enhanced Grenade Launcher Module (EGLM) on the 6 o-clock position, and the Emerson Optronics Fire Control Module (FCM) unit on the 12 o-clock position.

The MK 13 Mod 0 EGLM is a side loading, low-velocity 40 mm, multifunctional single-shot grenade launcher able to use high explosive and special purpose ammunition. It has a side loading action that can be pivoted to the left or right for ambidextrous loading with an unrestricted breech mechanism design that enables the EGLM to utlise any type of 40x46 mm lethal and non-lethal munition. The EGLM also features a slot-through trigger guard for the host weapon magazine to fit through, a progressively rifled steel barrel, double action trigger and ambidextrous safety/selector lever. The weapon can be converted to a standalone configuration by attaching a pistol grip and buttstock via the integral flat-top MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny reciever rail.

The FCM is the control platform of the weapon and consists a 1-2.4x GEN III FLIR sight (320x240 microbolometer focal plane array) and 1.56 micron eye-safe laser rangefinder and a ballistic computer housed in a high impact plastic body. The reticle on the sighting unit displays cues to indicate the correct shooting angle and predicted impact point of a round using accurate range-to-target data from the laser rangefinder. For enhanced first round probability to hit the FCM has additional modes that compensate for the type of ammunition used, when firing against static or moving targets, and against targets in defilade. At present it is not compatible with the latest programmable fuses, though this may be addressed in future uprades. For close quarters use a backup 1.5x reflex sight is molded on to the top of the main unit.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The G430A1 Tactical Precision Rifle is a heavy barrel, manually operated, rotating bolt action, magazine fed weapon with a five shot capacity. The G430A1 is designed to be very rugged and insensitive to temperature with the capability to deliver consistent sub-M.O.A. accurate long range performance at the supersonic maximum range of Match grade ammunition. The G430A1 is available chambered in two Super Magnum calibres: the .300 Remington Ultra Mag (model: (G430A1-300RUM) and the more powerful .338 Lapua Magnum cartridge (model: G430A1-338LM). Both models share the same ergonomics with the latter model achieving penetration and first-shot-hit probability comparable to a .50 calibre rifle without the associated penalties of weight, length and recoil.

The G430A1 has a reciever machined from a solid piece of forged carbon steel with the only aperture the feed and ejection slot and the entry for the bolt. The chamber is precisely dimensioned and contoured within the minimum acceptable tollerances of Match grade ammunition. The steel bolt is chrome plated and locked with front and rear locking lugs for maximum rigidity with the action cocking by a 60° rotation of the large steel bolt handle. The trigger is a Match two-stage unit fully adjustable for weight of pull and depth of engagement. A thumb actuated triple action safety lever is located on the trigger guard and interlocks the bolt, trigger and sear simultaenously.

Barrel lengths differ according to model and chambering with the model G430A1-300RUM chambered for .300 Remington Ultra Mag featuring a 26” (660 mm) length barrel and the G430A1-338LM chambered for .338 Lapua Magnum being 27” (686 mm) long. Barrels are machined from AISI 4140 chrome-moly high tensile steel and are threaded into the action for high rigidity and can be quickly replaced using only a Allen wrench. The barrels are fluted with a tapered profile and free-float in front of the receiver for accuracy. The mass of the barrel and reciever assembly negate the need for a muzzle recoil compensator though a flash hider can be threaded to the barrel. A mirage deflection ribbon can also be mounted to mimimise heat shimmer and glare interfering with optics.

The G430A1 has a solid aluminium bedding system built around a backbone chassis of anodized aluminum alloy to which the receiver body is bolted and bonded at the magazine housing to provide extra-rigid barrel support. A two-piece clamshell carbon fibre reinforced polymer stock encloses the action and is secured by ten Allen-head bolts to the chassis body. The stock is impact and scratch resistant with an internallly molded checker pattern to enhance strength. A matt black MIL-DTL-16232G manganese phosphate corrosion resistant finish is applied to all external metallic components.

Ergonomics of the G430A1 closely follow that of a Match rifle with a competition-style deep pistol grip and a high comb with a height-adjustable contoured cheek piece that offers ample eye relief. The buttstock is adjustable for length of pull with a bolt-on buttpad together with 1/2” plastic spacers that can be inserted between the rubber buttpad and the stock. There is a rear monopod bolted to the buttstock, a bipod rail for flush mounts on the fore-end for a Harris bipod, and an adjustable handstop with grasping grooves located along the base of the chassis in front of the magazine well.

No provision is made for for open sights on the G430A1, with the reciever top drilled and tapped for mounting a forged aluminium scope base with MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails that accept 30 mm scope rings. The G430A1 is issued as standard with a Emerson Optronics lOx42mm Tactical Telescope that features a 42 mm objective lens, adjustable eye piece, low-mounted target-style knobs, a sharp range estimation crosshair, parallax adjustment system and Mil-dot reticle.

The complete package includes the rifle, spacers for butt length adjustment, optical sight, scope mount, bipod, five spare magazines, sling, cleaning kit and tool kit all contained in a fitted magnesium alloy transport case. Options at extra cost include a soft carry case, dust covers, a folding stock, night sights, an adjustable cheekpiece and a quick-release sight mount.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The G403 Tactical Rifle is a bolt action, rotating bolt, magazine fed rifle with a five shot capacity. The G403 consists of a two weapon family tuned for Match grade .30 calibre sniper cartridges optimised for long range flat trajectories, these being the .300 Winchester Magnum (model: G403-300WM) and .308 Winchester (model: G403-308Win). Both rifles are designed to be lightweight precision takedown tool for use by military and law enforcement sharpshooters.

The tubular reciever is milled from a solid forged carbon steel blank and is attached firmly to a single-piece trigger and magazine, providing a common aperture for the feed, ejection slot and bolt. The chrome plated bolt head is located inside the reciever and locks by front and rear lugs for maximum stiffness. The action has a non-rotating Mauser-type claw extractor and fixed blade ejector that produce controlled and reliable feeding, extraction and ejection of rounds. A substantial bolt handle cocks the action and has a short lift so as not to interfere with low-mounted scopes and sights. The sturdy trigger guard is milled from carbon steel and locates a thumb actuated triple action safety lever that interlocks bolt, trigger and sear simultaenously. The trigger is a direct pull type adjustable for pressure and tension.

The Match heavy barrel, being either 24 inches or 26 inches long and one inch in diameter, is machined from AISI 4140 chrome-moly high tensile steel. The barrel is threaded into the action where it free-floats in front of the reciever and has a chrome plated bore that is counterbored at the muzzle to protect the edges of the rifling. A corrosion resistant matt black MIL-DTL-16232G manganese phosphate finish is applied to the barreled action.

The weapon feeds from an integral five round box magazine attached to a hinged floor plate. The magazine is concealed inside the depth of the stock so it fits flush with the bottom of the fore-end. A small magazine release catch is located on the front edge of the trigger well and enables to swing out the floor plate for reloading. Alternatively the whole magazine may be detached, loaded and re-attached.

The action is securely bedded to a rigid anondized aluminium bedding block built into the stock for maximum stiffness. There is a choice of traditional wooden or synthetic stock: the wooden stock is of high quality walnut with linseed oil satin finish and stippling on the grip and fore-end, while the synthetic option is a one-piece carbon fibre reinforced polymer stock with internallly molded checker pattern for added strength. Both stocks feature a high Monte Carlo comb without cheekpiece for ambidextrous handling, comfortable swept-back pistol grip, beavertail fore-end and removable 1/2 inch plastic spacers bolted to the buttplate and adjustable for length of pull. The fore-end also has flush mounts for a Harris bipod and sling swivel. Open sights are not provided and the reciever top is drilled and tapped for a forged aluminium scope base with MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails. Using 30 mm scope rings the Emerson Optronics lOx42mm Tactical Telescope or other sight instrument can be attached.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

THe SA-12 “Viper” is a dual-action, selective autoloading and manual pump action, magazine fed, semi-automatic tactical shotgun of lower barrel configuration, having an upper tubular magazine and top-loading port with bottom shell ejection. The SA-12 has been designed as a military shotgun with ambdextrous handling and low maintenance attributes. The shotgun combines the low recoil characteristics of a gas operated weapon with a low bore axis for improved accuracy with a top loading port for faster combat loading. The gas operating system delivers a soft recoil allowing the SA-12 to be fired as accurately from the shoulder, hip or by one hand.

In normal operation a self regulated gas system is used to cycle the weapon which is self cleaning and able to handle any high impulse or hot load by automatically compensating for differing sized cartridges and power levels. For lower power rounds the option is provided of shutting off the gas system to convert the weapon to a manual repeater for firing low velocity ammunition lacking the recoil energy to cycle the automatic mechanism. Thus, the SA-12 can be used for a number of missions including riot control, close quarters combat, door breaching and general security.

Construction

The receiver is milled as a single piece from lightweight solid billet Ergal 55 (aluminium alloy with steel-like mechanical performance) having a sand blasted Type III hard anondized matt black finish. The bolt, carrier, gas system and barrel are made from AISA 410 stainless steel with a Type M manganese phosphate corrosion resistant finish. The bore, chamber and gas system are all chrome plated for increased reliability and corrosion resistance, and the bolt and elevator have a PVD titanium protective coating.

The barrel has a tapered profile and incorporates an internal screw-in choke system with the options of a cylinder bore (fitted as standard) to a full choke for optimising shot strings and patterning. Above the barrel is an eight or five-shot tubular magazine with a shell follower surrounded by a synthetic handguard (or optional handguard with mounting for a tactical flashlight, multifunction illuminator or laser aiming module). The grip has an extended slide for improved control and in manual mode is pumped forward to cycle the action which is reversed in the upper magazine configuration.

All furniture, including the slide, are made from Zytel Super Tough glass-filled polymers. There is a choice of two stock options: a one piece pistol grip straight line stock designed to distribute recoil forces evenly across the butt recoil pad and the palm of the shooting (strong) hand; and a top-folding skeletonized stock of stamped steel construction that can dramatically shorten the length of the weapon for manouevering in close environments. The folding stock lays across the reciever with clearance for the rear sight when folded, and can fold/unfold instantly at the push of a quick release button. An aftermarket elastomeric polymer five-shell carrier can also be fitted beneath this stock as a speed loader.

Action

The gas operating system is self-regulating having gas exit ports spaced concentrically around the barrel that operate a piston which actuates a connecting rod and recoil spring assembly. On firing these move rearwardly to cycle the next shell into the chamber from a shell space in the carrier above the breech. The bolt assembly has both upper and lower bolt members, with locking lugs on the opposite sides of the lower bolt being released by rearward movement of the upper bolt member. Reciprocal guide pins are located in the lower bolt member and are retracted into the face of the lower bolt to allow a spent shell to be ejected through the ejection port. The impact of the lower bolt member at the rear of the receiver drive the pins forwardly to direct a new shell into the breech. The barrel has extensions to stop the front of the shell from passing through and out the bottom ejection port upon loading and to guide and help deliver the shell into the barrel chamber.

Safeties

The modular trigger assembly has a hammer which is rotated rearwardly by the lower bolt and which returns to a “short lock time” position held ready to fire by a sear. The firing pin is driven through a bore in the lower bolt by the hammer. A firing pin block prevents premature automatic firing of a subsequent shell before the locking lugs on the lower bolt are substantially engaged. A crossbolt push-button safety is located in front of the trigger in the trigger guard which when pushed locks the trigger, sear and hammer simultaneously to prevent accidental firing if the weapon is dropped or jolted.

Fire control

Operators can easily switch bnetween action styles via a rotary ring toggle switch located ahead of the slide. This consists a semi-automatic mechanism for high impulse loads (buckshot, slugs, flechettes, etc); and a manual pump action mode that unlocks the slide for cycling low velocity ammunition lacking the recoil energy to cycle the gas system (CS ferret, bean bag, Hatton rounds, flares, etc). An operator may also chamber a high or low-impulse round manually and fire it without switching between either modes for fast employment. To handle the widesest variety of lethal and less-lethal ammunition, including 70, 70 and 76 mm cartridge lengths and plastic and brass-cased shotshells, the SA-12/89 is provided with an 89 mm (3 1/2 inch) chamber while the SA-12/76 has a corresponding 76 mm (3 inch) chamber.

The SA-12 shotgun is loaded via a top loading port on the reciever which is protected by dividing spring-loaded dirt/dust covers. In combat this allows rapid loading into the shell carrier without having to lower the muzzle or taking eyes off a target. This is accomplished by holding the weapon level by its grip and the stock trapped beneath the arm and charging the magazine using the free hand. This immediate action drill can be used to replace rounds during combat and be performed by touch only allowing the operator to continue scanning the environment for potential threats. The spent cases eject through a port on the bottom of the reciever minimising visual signature when firing.

Sights

The reciever is drilled and tapped for dovetail mounts. The Combat shotgun has a rear open notch and flip-up ghost ring (diopter) front sight for both eyes open aiming, and a protected fixed front post sight on the barrel that also works with the rear notch when the ghost ring is folded. Both sights have Tritium luminous dots for night shooting and are adjustable for windage and elevation. A Weaver-style accessory rail can also be attached to the reciever ahead of the loading port for mounting aftermarket optical and night vision sights. The Tactical shotgun differs by mounting a carry handle in place of the dovetail mount, this being offset to the left of the the reciever and high enough not to interfered with the reciever top loading port. The handle is grooved containing a sliding-type tangent-leaf rear sighting unit and the front sight is a high mounted hooded post.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (Work in progress)

The MAG12 is a select-fire, smoothbore, recoil operated automatic shotgun chambered for 12 gauge ammunition, constructed from alloy steel components and fiberglass-reinforced polyamides. It is designed to fire high-impulse, multiple projectiles with an effective range of 100-150 metres during close quarters combat.

Recommended ammunition loads include standard or shaped-pattern shot rounds, fin-stabilized flechettes, solid and sabot slugs, and specialized flare rounds available in various colours. Low power ammunition, such as beanbag and barricade penetrating rounds, can also by cycled in the mechanism, but with greatly reduced stopping power, range and accuracy.

The weapon utilises a recoil-operated action with moving barrel and additional, self-regulated gas assist system (used to help unlock breechblock from the barrel if low-power ammo is used). The main goal of this system is to decrease felt recoil down to a suitable level when firing in the fully automatic mode.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The HK69A1 Granatpistole is licensed from Heckler & Koch. It is a single shot, breech-loading weapon with break-open action and rifled barrel. It can fire all types of 40 mm low-velocity ammunition. It is primarily employed as a launcher of CS and OC crowd control and ferret rounds, rubber baton rounds and flare rounds for law enforcement. The HK69 can also fire military HE-FRAG, HEDP, smoke and illum grenade rounds.

The barrel is made of steel, and is hinged to the receiver to be tipped up at the rear for loading and unloading. The single-action firing mechanism has an exposed hammer and ambidextrous manual safety, located above the trigger. The barrel latch, which unlocks the barrel for reloading, is located next to the hammer but operates independently, so the launcher could be safely reloaded with the hammer down, and the hammer can be cocked later at necessary moment.

The launcher is fitted with a polymer pistol grip and retractable shoulder stock with rubber buttpad. Sights are mounted on the reciever top with the option of a dual aperture optic sight, graduated from 50 to 100 metres, and a front blade and folding-down ladder sight, graduated from 50 to 400 metres in 50 metre increments.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The MG70A/71K Universal Machine Gun (UMG) is an individually portable, gas piston-operated, air-cooled, fully automatic, belt or magazine fed lightweight machine gun. The UMG concept is intended to replace the Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW) and General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) with a single light weapon chambered for intermediate cartriges including 6.5 MPC and 6.5 Grendel. The UMG is light enough to be fired from the hip, shoulder or bipod and provides the basis of fire for the infantry section. It is also capable of producing a large volume of effective fire versus light materiel targets and personnel when mounted on a tripod or pintle.

The operating system of the MG70 is a short stroke gas piston firing from the open bolt with positive locking. Ammunition is fed from the left by a 100-500 round disintegrating split-link belt or a 200 round capacity polymer box magazine. The basic ammunition loadout is 600-900 rounds. The feed mechanism is housed inside the feed cover linked to the central section of the receiver. The feed cover and the ejection port are both protected by dust covers. Spent links and shells eject downwards to reduce visual signature.

The bore and breech are chrome lined, and there is a free-floating, non-fluted, no-tools quick change 4140 chrome-moly steel barrel. It has a fixed head space and three port flash hider, and is replaceable in only three seconds without tools. The MG70A features a 18 1/2 inch barrel and the MG71K, or “kurzer”, a 16 1/2 inch barrel specifically designed for easier manouevering during MOUT and for airmobile operations. By changing the barrel, feed cover and breech assemblies and locking the shoulder and gas piston, the MG70A/71K is convertible between a variety of calibres. The standard configurations are 6.5 mm Grendel and 6.5 mm MPC, with growth potential existing for alternative chamberings.

The upper and lower receiver, buttstock, ventilated fore-end and gas block handguard are constructed from carbon fibre reinforced polymers with an internallly molded checker pattern to enhance strength. The weapon has a side-folding skeletonised buttstock and can be fired with the stock folded. The buttstock is of in-line configuration and has a silicone rubber recoil pad fitted against the butt plate.

MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails are molded onto the upper receiver and fore-end. Optical sights can be mounted on the reciever rail, while standard sights comprise a rear adjustable tangent leaf and flip-up peep sight and a folding front hooded post, both with Tritium luminous dots for night shooting.

The operator controls are of identical design to those used on the G500 Modular Weapon System allowing for easy training conversion by personnel. These consist of a two-stage trigger and ambidextrous safety/selector switch modelled on Heckler & Kock designs. The trigger group allows to execute semi auto or automatic fire.

A collapsible bipod is attached to the gas block. The MG70 can be ground mounted for the sustained fire role on a lightweight tripod with traverse and elevation control mechanism, or pintle mounted on a vehicle.

Each Universal Machine Gun is packaged with 3 polymer box magazines, a spare barrel, integral reciever w/ MIL-STD-1913 rails, a folding buttstock, a folding bipod and removeable flip-up rear and front iron sights. The standard maintenance kit include: bore, chamber and reciever cleaning brushes, a multi-section cleaning rod, a cartridge extractor and combination tool. A laminated instruction manual and range cards are also supplied.

Sequoia Weaponworks is also very receptive to the offer of the Colstream government to establish a manufacturing centre in your nation to produce small arms and other devices. In terms of investment, Sequoia Weaponworks would be in position to meet half or all of the funding neccessary to build and outfit the facilities. As an investor in your nation we would seek favourable tax status, but we feel this would be more than compensated through the employing of local staff and contributions to the economy through subcontracting of components and services to other Colstream companies.

If these terms are found to be acceptable, Sequoia Weaponworks would be willing to sign a memorandum of understanding between ourselves and the Colstream government agreeing to building the factory. We estimate the facilitiy may be operational in as short as 1 NS year, including locating a site, approval for planning permission, the construction phase and commissioning of the factory is factored.

Response to contract award by the Air Force Special Operations Group, Holy Empire of Anemos

Some confusion exists as to whether the Holy Empire of Anemos is at war with the Mercenary Camps of Avoya, and as such Sequoia Weaponworks would normally be prohibted by our government to transfer any large armount of weapons under such circumstances. Furthermore, the order from the Holy Empire of Anemos as recieved is incomplete without the contracted value included. Combined with the small number of arms that have been contracted and the confusion over whether the Holy Empire is currently at war we must regretfully inform you that our company declines to confirm this order.

---------

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c197/USCMC/nationstates/SequoiaSDS.jpg
Response to contract award from the Mercenary Camps of Avoya

Sequoia Weaponworks is bound by the earlier decision of our parent company Sequoia Defence Systems and the laws of Etoile Arcture in regards to arms transfers to the Mercenary Camps of Avoya. To wit, explained in our company policy statement, "All sales are subject to rigerous tests and weapons proliferation controls to prevent military aid and arms transfers to nations that have poor humans rights records, or that support or assist international terrorism." As the Mercenary Camp of Avoya by its own admission supplies mercenaries to the international community, we cannot in all conscience approve an arms transfer to a nation that employs its weapons for uses other than for the legitimate purpose of self-defence and therefore decline to complete this contract.
Avoya
30-11-2008, 12:29
In Response to denial of contract,

We in Avoya are saddened to hear that our contract was denied. We are 'mercenaries' but we only give mercenaries to nations that have a legitimate cause. The idea of 'mercenaries' from games or books is incorect. A better term would be short term defensive alliances, were we offer alliances, where we protect a nation (either passivily, agressivily, or defensivly) for money.

We would never offer a contract to an undeserving nation, and therefore are trying to break the image popular culture has thrust upon us.

Also, in Response to the war between Avoya and Anemos: we never had a war, and there was a misunderstanding, where Anemos theatened the massacre of marines on a peacekeeping mission. However it was resolved that the Anemos Major army had acted incorrectly. Therefore, I beg of you, not to hold said incident as war, and to allow Anemos to continue to do its task, regardless of what it is.

adittionally, we resubmit our request for the bodyguard equiptment which is

---------

OOC: Hang on a moment. I'm not at war with Avoya, and what do you mean? If you're prohibited to sell large amounts of weapons, then a small order should be able to go through! I'm pretty sure i did the price (on Excel, and then I though I'd pasted it here) but I must have pasted the wrong part.

Please clarify.

OOC: I was careful to word it "some confusion" as the situation was unclear to me, tho ICly it is clear that Anemos Major and Avoya have had some past friction. As I RP EA as a democracy that places high values on the rights of the person it was simpler for me to refuse both orders than find myself in the situation of arming opposing sides in any current or future conflict, or at least that was how I saw it at the time. Ultimately, a storefront owner on II can refuse orders for any reason, or for no reaon at all. That is mine, and their perogative.

It makes perfect sense, you just really need to distinguish OOC from IC. Also it would be his imaginary nation that gets imaginary money; EA (the player) himself hasn't really lost out. Lastly, by refusing to arm both sides, it could be argued that Etoile Arcture (the nation) has made the most mature move on grounds of morality rather than profit. Response to contract award from the Republic of Madurastan

Sequoia Weaponworks wishes to express both its sorrow at the loss of life in the recent war, and iour support towards the new government of the Republic of Madurastan. As such, we will honour in full the arms and factory contracts previously signed between ourselves and the former Republic of Colstream. It is our belief that the best way to support your government at this time would be through maintainance of the extant factory to supply the national defence needs of your nation. Furthermore, we feel that decomissioning of such a state of the art factory will also result in high economic costs to both ourselves and the Madurastan government at a time when you may need funds for rebuilding following the recent war. We therefore request that the final decision to decommission be postponed for the time being until a time that your government can buy out our stake, or new non-weapons investment opportunities for both parties have been explored.

Following the success our colleagues in the Military and Judicial Authorities have had with your products, the Domestic Authority has selected Sequoia Weaponworks to re-outfit three agencies under our administration.

Zinairian Special Protective Service

5,000x Diablo Compact Tactical (.357 SIG) @ $600 = $3 million
5,000x Diablo Subcompact (.357 SIG) @ $750 = $3.75 million
3,000x Velociraptor (6.5mm CBJ) @ $900 = $2.7 million
2,000x G580 Advanced Combat Rifle (6.5mm MPC) @ $? = $? (OOC: These aren't shown here, but they are on the offsite forum, so I assume they're for sale. If they are, just add the cost to the bill, if not, replace them with G500s in the same cartridge).

Zinairian Coast Guard

50,000x Diablo Tactical (.40 S&W) @ $450 = $22.5 million
25,000x MP5113KE Submachine Gun (.40 S&W) @ $700 = $17.5 million
25,000x G500-6.5MPC ABR @ $1,250 = $31.25 million

Bureau of Immigrations and Customs

155,000x Diablo Tactical (.40 S&W) @ $450 = $69.75 million
75,000x MP5113KE Submachine Gun (.40 S&W) @ $700 = $52.5 million

Total: $202.95 million

Payment will be wired in full upon confirmation. We would like all products delivered in black. We would also like to inquire as to whether or not there is an alternative to the drum feed for a Velociraptor chambered at 6.5mm. As I'm sure you can imagine, a drum magazine is less than ideal for a concealed weapon.

ANTIGRAN MILITARY TRANSMISSION
The United Kingdom of Antigr

To: Whom It May Concern, Sequoia Weaponworks
From: Konteramiral Henrikssen, Quartermaster-General, His Majesty's Ministry of Defence

Sir,

In my role as Quartermaster-General, overseer of the equipment of the Royal Armed Services, I am directing the continual operation of expanding, maintaining and reequipping our armed forces and so discover a requiem for a rifle-calibre sharpshooter's weapon for naval and land-based applications. Impressed by service in the past, we again come to this fine weaponworks to purchase arms. After a lengthy search and trials, we have deemed the G430 rifle series to be best suited to our requirement, most specifically the G430A1-338LM (27-inch barrel) variant for which we have ammunition stocks. As such, we request the purchase of eighty-four and a half thousand (84500) for $823,875,000, to be paid in equal quarterly payments over one year, as well as enquiries into the weapon's DPRs for future domestic procurement.

Thank you.

Sequoia Weaponworks announces significant refresh to product line

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c197/USCMC/nationstates/SG555_2pat-65-SWS-ART_UNS.png

The SG555 Sniper Rifle System (SRS) is among the new weapons to be introduced over the coming weeks

HARMONY CITY, E.A. - Sequoia Weaponworks LLC, a wholy owned subsidairy of Sequoia Defence Systems Inc. of New Harrisberg, Etoile Arcture, announces today a selective product refresh across its range of small arms weapon solutions for military, law enforcement and para-military applications.

The product refresh will once completed represent the most significant change to Sequoia Weaponworks offerings since June 2007, and will include the retirement of some models and introduction of updated and improved families of small arms. The following changes have been announced with immediate effect: Introduction of a P270B Diablo Handgun System to replace the P270A model in serial production. The new handgun will feature improved safety features and a redesigned frame and grip of more ergonomic design.
A total refresh of the G500 Modular Weapon System (G500 MWS) and MG70 Universal Machine Gun product lines with redesigned second pattern recievers manufactured in lighter, tougher and more durable glass fibre reinforced polyamides and carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) materials.
As a result of low customer demand the G502KE and G503E models will be phased out of the G500 MWS family, as will be support for 6.5x43 mm MPC and NATO calibre configurations throughout the G500 product line.
Retirement of the MP5110K and MP5113KE submachine guns to be replaced by a new family of MP510K/511K/512K submachine guns with second pattern recievers.
The following changes will also be announced over the coming weeks: Iintroduction of a new second pattern G504E rifle and a new G504KE carbine offered in Russian 5.45x39 mm M74 and 7.62x39 mm M43 cartridges, and able to feed and fire OEM Russian magazines.
Announcement that the second pattern (1990s vingage) G100 AR/SAR/HBAR family will be placed back into serial production. These weapons will be available in 5.56x45 mm NATO (STANAG 4172) and 7.62x51 mm NATO (STANAG 2310) calibre configurations.Changes to Seqioua Weaponworks products will not affect existing indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contracts or licensed manufacturing agreements signed with foreign manufacturers and governments. Older prroducts may therefore remain in production, with all existing custommers offered the option of re-licensing the updated products for a modest extension of their existing license fee.

Response to contract award by the Republic of Zinaire

It is with great pleasure that I confirm the recent orders placed by the Zinairian Judicial Authority and Zinarian Domestic Authority with our division. All items will be despatched immediately upon payment, and I again thank the numerous officials and law enforcement personnel throughout Zinaire who have supported our company over the last few NS years.

For reference, due to a typgraphic error the price of the Stonewall Folding Sight was incorrectly labelled as US$125 instead of the correct price of US$265 for the front and rear sights. As the fault was on our part no additional costs will be made to the Zinairian Judicial Authority and Zinarian Domestic Authority.

We would also like to enquire about the water and sand resistance of the G500 series and how it compares to the HK416/7 currently used by the Zinairian Coast Guard.
It is our company’s position that the G500 is approximately 50% more reliable than the HK416/7 and therefore on par with the H&K G36. These assetions are backed by our own and independent torture tests conducted independently by the Etoile Arcture Defence Forces during qualifications for the armed forces. These torture tests included clay, dirt, sand and salt and fresh water immersion, an additional oil bath test, extreme cold tests with rapid thawing, being baked in an oven with and without mud and dirt caking, a dust and fine powder blasting, and drop tests on to concrete.

Our company considers the HK416/7 and the FN MK 16/17 SCAR as setting the benchmark standards a manufacturer has to beat, and the average stoppage failures speak for themselves in this regard. The HK416/7 and MK 16/17 SCAR suffered on average 200-250 stoppages out of 10,000 round fired during the extreme torture tests, whereass the G500 MWS suffered on average only 100-120 stoppages, while the average for the H&K G36 is 100-150 stoppages. The control weapons, the M16/M4 family, in comparison suffered an average of 800-1,000 stoppages during the tests. Better materials, maintenance free lubricants, a regulated gas system and a spring-loaded ejector port cover all ensure clean and reliable operation in the surf zone and when operated after full submersion.

To: Sequoia Weaponworks, Sequoia Defence Systems

I would like to offer my sincerest thanks to your company as well as Sequoia Defence Systems as a whole for both their service to the Zinairian government and our armed forces and for your latest gift of limited edition pistols to myself, the Executive Council and other members of the Zinairian government. After receiving the pistols, a group of recipients tried them out at a ZNPD shooting range and having handled a P270B Diablo myself, I could not be any more confident as we issue much the same thing to soldiers and police across Zinaire.

Unfortunately, your generous gift is not without its drawbacks. Councilor Lavigne, upon receiving her pistol has taken a hands-on approach to her own security. The knowledge that she now carries a firearm has Special Protective Service agents, capitol police and other politicians, myself included, deeply concerned for our safety. On a more serious note, some groups have raised concerns about your gift being a form of bribery, as documented in this (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14650159&postcount=4) ZNN article. That said, we are not concerned about the allegations, as they are obviously false, and they will not have any effect on our future buying practices.

Finally, in order to express our gratitude to Sequoia Defence Systems for their service to Zinaire, ODECON and the free world and for their responsibility in keeping their weapon systems out of the hands of tyrants and fascists, we would like to invite the CEO of Sequoia Defence Systems to Zinaire City to be presented with the badge of the Most Grand and Noble Order of Zinaire.
