Message from President Kazansky to the Royal Georgian League
We realize that the vision of Havenic Peace in the sense normally employed – namely, not having any wars in the region, ever, ever again is, so far, a utopian vision. We believe, however, that an ideal is not something to be discarded because it cannot be reached. A captain of a ship at sea knows that he cannot literally rreach a lighthouse and dock his tanker to it – usually a lighthouse is inland. But he also knows that the place where he really needs to be is somewhere in that direction, so he steers his ship towards the unreachable lighthouse.
We in Allanea are believers in peace.
Peace is good for business. War is good only for a few businessmen who own stock in arms corporations, and even then not always. Peace is good for everybody.
Does this mean we will stand down, and avoid facing true evil when it comes? No.
Does this mean we will happily open relations for those other nations who wish to be our friends, even if their policies do not completely dovetail with ours? Quite so.
As such, I would like the leadership of Questers, of Praetonia, and those who are directly allied with them, to come to dinner with me – alone or together, as you like – to discuss the possibilities of future Allanean relations with your countries.
Let us avoid misunderstanding – Allanea will not become your ally, because right now, it is our business interest to stay out of Havenic wars and conflicts. But Allanea will do her level best to become your friend.
I have on my desk, a draft of a non-agression pact, free trade and student exchange treaty for our nations.
It allows for the movement of goods, for the exchange of academic knowledge and cultures, and, most importantly, for the preservation of peace in Haven.
Should you come here and enjoy fine Allanean tea, quality Dersconi vodka, and Allanean red and black caviar with me, we can discuss the finer points of the document.
