We are Andar: a region hidden for hundreds of years by powers unknown. Developing in phase with the world, yet removed from its events.

We have a history, we have a whole secret world hidden from you. We would like to open it.

Fifty-seven years ago, your existence was discovered by us. Thirty-four years ago, this information was declassified from our highest offices.

We have been preparing to meet you. We have learned your language. We have learned your 'html', your telephonic network system.

Five years ago, our delegate was sent to the then United Nations under a pretense of belonging to a small island.

We are large, though; a continent. Many countries lie here, with separate histories; yet, intrinsically tied together.

A thousand years ago, our imperium was known in the world. We held much of what is now your various lands.

I am an Imperial Prince of Andar, but our countries are advanced politically. My father may be recognized as Emperor in Azemica, our Diplomatic State that has prepared our continent for meeting you, but he has no real power there.

Indeed, in my own home state/province in my own country of Andrail, I am not even recognized as anything. My father is the 'Hereditary Arbiter'.

We are anxious to meet you. We are anxious to buy from you; to sell to you. We cannot wait to tell you all about ourselves.

Our Grand Entrance to the world stage was planned for later, but we have moved it to now. Therefore, we are not all perfect and ready.

New government revealed to the world! An entire continent!

Just recently, a foriegn government revealed itself to the entire world, somehow managing to escape detection until recently! The Nationals are trying to contact this government, as President McDermott has said "These people, if they are what they say, have been isolated for a long time. They must be contacted, and if possible, an embassy estableshed." No other contact has been made at this time.

The room around him is what seems artificially blurred, but it seems to be a tall skyscraper office with a beautiful view of a harbour.

The man begins speaking, "Hello, world. I am Josh Verdinier, and this is Azemica TV, special Imperial Q&A broadcast."

"Governments of the world, you may be loath to establish diplomatic relations with a continent that doesn't even have a factbook yet," he continues. "Or possibly, you may just be curious about our fine continent!"

"In exactly twelve hours," he explains, "His Imperial Highness, our beloved Prince Dominic, will address the world via anyone who has this program open at that time with an internet connection."

"If you're planning to ask questions," Josh explains, "it's crucial that you contact us through telegram or private communique immediately, with a list of your questions, so we can prepare answers for them."

He says, "if you're going to attend but not ask questions, we'd appreciate a heads-up but it isn't required."

"Hope you can be there!" he exclaims. "Thanks, and good-bye."

President McDermott quickly tapped on his keyboard, sweat running off his face. A little to the left, a little to left... Then the screen blacked out. Game over! it blinked over and over. McDermott sighed. He always had trouble with level ten. "SIR! We've recieved a new message!" A courier ran in, panting for breath. "Well what is it? Spit it out!" The courier stopped and sat down. "That new government, Azemica?" The courier looked at McDermott intently. "Yes, I remember it. Have they approved our request for an embassy?" "Actually," The courier continued "They're allowing questions to be asked over webcam-apparently they want time to answer the questions live, although they'd prefer a heads-up." The President laughed. "Well, I've been thinking about this, and this has given me the perfect opportunity..." He quickly opened his "Questions" notepad file, and selected ten of them. After printing it out, he turned back to the courier. Send this to them." The courier quickly started to run back, but as he made his way out the door, he spilled A cup of cofee. "Damn, that was the last cup." McDermott muttered. "Ah well."

It might be interesting to note, for the first half, that in our past history our lands was ruled by an empire so vast, so evil, that it enslaved our entire lands (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v622/Drakomis/Pictures%20drawn%20for%20me%20by%20other%20people/FINISHED-1.png). This Great Empire was known to us as the Imperium, with an Emperor who was dethroned by one of our Greatest Hero's. We never thought of the possibility of this empire being a nation not of our continent, but now that we see your message we may consider it for our historical database. Of course, this all happen generations ago, centuries upon centuries, thousands upon thousands, before the Unification of Anagonia around two-thousand and some odd years ago. But, nevertheless, it is a possibility.

Be reminded that such past is not held against you, if you were. It would be a fantastic find to discover the Empire that is written in our historical archives, and to firmly have evidence that this history actually happened. Either way, we open our Diplomatic Relations (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=543982) to you, and we hope you consider the options present there.

Actually, I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'homeland'. If that means a land that you left perhaps 500-2000 years ago, by all means we may be able to work things out. Please explain more.

Dear Sir,

I am Dominic. Your message was forwarded to me. I, myself, have something of a passion for history, and chose to reply personally.

I am an Imperial Prince of Andar, and as of such am quite privileged. It would not be mere exaggeration to not the I am one of the most historically informed in all of Andar. What you say is of extreme interest to me.

You see, to my great despair, not much is known of history in Andrail, Azemica, or anywhere in Andar. Until recently, diplomatic relations with some other countries in Andar were few and far between, consisting mainly of covert trading at designated times.

Also, very good records were not kept, and a combination of natural disasters, carelessness, apathy, maltreatment, and nonexistent care destroyed or misplaced much of what records we had over the years.

What we do have is dated in regnal years, which we cannot use to firmly establish a timeline, and many other references to time are oblique references to events we do not know of.

That said, in recent years many interesting records and archaeological discoveries have been found and made! References have been pieced together, and many of the not-so-fanciful historians are now beginning to form pictures of my forefathers ruling a vast Imperium spanning much of the globe.

Records are being found that point to our current assessments of the past being misdated: although previously we had imagined the Imperium as ruling much of Andar hundreds of years ago and having relations with overseas powers far, far away, recent discoveries point to a much larger Imperium thousands of years ago holding sway over much of the Earth and wielding technology we only recognize in fables.

Of course, I'm rambling a bit now, aren't I. Suffice to say that we would love to re-establish ancient relations with you, and work together to piece together the wonder that is history.

And, ponder this: although your tales may reminisce our Imperium as 'evil' and your freedom fighters as 'heroes', remember that much of the tangled mess we currently call history is nowhere near objective and totally factual. ((OOC: the Druids of Britain are put in Roman History as sacrificing, evil, cultic maniacs, but recent research points to this as being propaganda)) I'm sure that any race overthrowing its leaders, for better or for worse at the time, would idolize the freedom fighters and demonize the leaders. Who knows: perhaps even your heroes were the evil ones!

In any case, it matters not a jot what occurred thousands of years ago: only what is happening and what will happen.

Mr. Dominic,

Our history dates back two-thousand and eight years, wherein the time of the Unification of the Anagonian Continent occurred. Originally there were seven kingdoms and empires upon this Continent, warring and constantly babbling about ruling one way or the other. It was the then Kingdom of Novar, referred to back then as Aznoth, that brought the seven empires together to form a Grand Republic of sorts, the forerunner to the United Republic we know today. Before this time, perhaps some ten-thousand years prior to Unification, which is termed as Before Unification for official references, we recall a time of the Barbarian King.

Our history surrounds many warlords and kings, the starting of which was a Barbarian Warrior who led the original tribes together to form the first likings of a territory on our continent. It was some five thousand years after, probably 5,462 BU that historical records and evidence recovered from that era indicate foreign occupation in some parts. It is believed that this was the starting of the Imperium, which can or cannot be your empire, and could be someone else's.

Records go on to 2,062 BU, when the occupation was apparent and an unknown hero rose up to defeat the then-Emperor of the lands.

But I am just babbling too, and I haven't properly researched the records over yet. It is nice to meet a nation that could possibly be tied with our history. I personally hope we'll solve this all out.

We find it very interesting that your civilization once ruled many lands of the world. The history of Sarrowquand is indeed over a thousand years though the Dominion has existed for perhaps four or five hundred years. However over a thousand years ago, before our peoples inhabited these lands we believe that another vibrant civilization was based here. We have almost no knowledge of them as they seem to have removed almost their entire presence before they themselves vanished. There are no ruins, no cities, no roads or mines to mark there passing. They were we think the perfect conservationists who set the clock back completely before leaving Sarrowquand. They left the mysterious Element Totems, twelve giant coastal statues created by unknown methods by indeterminately advanced technology; and they left a few other lesser artifacts. We know little of this race but we wish to ask and investigate as to whether your ancestors were their contemporaries.

Beyond this we look forward to viewing your factbook and will respond with more apt topics once we have done this. At any rate a civilization that has existed for many thousands of years is one we respect; you must be doing something right to posses such stability and cohesion.

At the risk of sounding childish, I am so excited by these facts from Sarrowquand and Anagonia! I would have never dreamed that revealing ourselves to the world would help us discover our vibrant history--indeed, I and colleagues were afraid that interest in history would be lost by the influx of immigration and interest in other countries!

I really do hope that I and historians and archaeologists from Andar and your nations can work together to piece together our glorious past.

The news of your discovery has reached our esctatic ears finally. Historians and religious scholars throughout Uraartu have been studying our ancient religious texts tirelessly in hopes of providing some evidence that what I believe is true. You see, countless generations ago, no one knows exactly how long ago, our ancestors migrated to the island of Uraartu from an unknown land. Our scholars have, over the past eight hundred years, ruled out the six populated continents and our biologists have shown that we are not genetically related to the other races of man. Their only explanation is that our people must have come from some as yet undiscovered continent where a preexisting civilization flourished.

And now, since you have made your presence known, we have reason to believe that our ancestors, known to us as the Wanderers, or the Lost Children, migrated from your home.
