A Royal Excursion (Closed; Attention: Skamania & Duloc)

Pan-Arab Barronia

Santina lay asleep on the extravagant four-poster. Navy-blue and silver silk sheets lay across the bed, symbolising a turbulent night. Despite the soft, deep mattress, it could not absorb the effect of a strong headwind over the past 9 hours. Although the winds had changed, her sleep had not.

Outside the chamber, attaches and ministers hurried by, 12" laptops and folders tucked under their arms. In the Front Briefing Chamber, a meeting was underway.

"So, Ladies, Gentleman. We know why we're here, correct?"

The faces round the table nodded. For the moment, they dressed smartly but informally, however, by landing, they would be in their matching uniforms, creating, as ever, a unified front for the world to see Barronia by.

"So, Anna, I believe you have the itinerary?"

"Yes sir." She sets a laptop down on the table, running her fingers across the screen. In front of all of the ministers, laid into the table itself, appeared a copy of the itinerary.

"If you'd like to upload these to you datapads, we'll be ready to go."

The man chairing the table moved to a telephone - an old-style round-dial phone, matching, in black, precisely with the walnut, navy blue, and silver theme of the room. He dialled in a two-digit combination, before asking for the bridge.

He conversed tersely with captain, before bidding his farewells and going to wake Her Majesty.

He knocked on the door twice. A muffled "who is it" graced his ears.

"Your Majesty, we're approaching the Skamanian border. May I recommend preparing for docking?" Another muffled reply, the sound approximating to a "five minutes".

"Of course, Your Majesty. I shall send for Cadence, Louise and Sara."

-----

"Lieutenant, starboard engines to full."

"Aye sir, starboard to full."

"Ensign, gas release valve, portside stern and bow, 5 second burst. We need to begin a swing onto course one-niner-five."

"Aye sir. Releasing....now. Closing in three, two, one, closed."

The airship began a slow, steady roll, only of a few degrees, allowing her to set on course more quickly. The captain, Flight Commodore Sir Ranulph Hargreaves, was as experienced as they come. Coming first in his class at the RANS Flight College Sandgrove, he picked the route of piloting behemoths and now, for all intents and purposes, ran the Magisterial Transport Division of the RANS.

The airship passed the borderline, now no doubt into RADAR range. Soon they would land in time for the celebrations, and inevitably a closer relationship between Barronia and Skamania.

"Ensign, give me communications."

"Aye sir. Frequency?"

"Give me Skamanian Air Force frequencies."

"Aye sir. Opening comms in three, two," he mimed the last digit, before pointing at the commodore.

"Skamanian Air Force, this is airship Santina Barro 77n-Verona. We are en-route to the capital, speed approximately one-five-zero knots. Callsign India-Bravo-Niner-Niner-Zero-Alpha. Are requesting a welcome party."

-----

"...so, as you can see, this is a rather important little junket - this sets the tone with your new sister-in-law, along with your father-in-laws court."

"Ah, yes, of course. We have the gift I arranged?"

"Of course. It's in your case. Your Majesty, the grey skirt would look excellent for the ceremony."

"Well, Sara, I really would rather-"

"Sara's right! If you wore those hose and that beret, you'd look excellent. The silver brooch with the emerald, I think.

"I suppose it could work." She looked from the speaker, Laura, to the third woman - not a lady-in-waiting, but the Magistrate Premier, Cadence Niels. "Cadence, how long until we arrive?"

"Just a few hours. You've enough time to get ready, be briefed, and we can get the cars prepped if necessary, at least."

"Okay. If you ladies would give me twenty minutes, I'll be ready for hair and makeup. Thankyou for your help this morning, ladies. It'd be excellent if you could be in uniform for docking!"

"Of course, ma'am. We're a phonecall away if you need us."

"I'll bear that in mind. Now shoo with you!" The mischevious glint that Santina had been known for appeared again as she jostled them out of the door. Shedding her robe as she crossed the room, she eased into the bath, sinking neck-deep into the suds and falling back into a light slumber as the airship sped on to its destination.

The Skamanian Air Force had numerous communication centers all across the realm so fighters, etc could always keep in touch with their bases and so forth. One of those centers picked up the Barronian message and, with authorization, send out a swift reply:

"A welcome party is ready for you at the capital and the coordinates shall be sent to you in about five minutes. Welcome to our beloved nation."

While Santina's airship was speeding on towards its destination, Prince Sebastien was busy talking to his father at the airport while the welcome party was finishing its final preparations. Sebastien had been anxious to see his beloved wife again and he hoped to show her every inch of his homeland that he could. Dressed in a military style uniform while his father donned a simple but regal looking jacket, Sebastien tried to contain the joy he had within his body while talking to the man who had raised him for so many years.

"I hear that the Jeanne D'Arc Festival begins today, Father and I believe that I will take Santina to see the opening ceremonies tonight in the city while the moon shines. I think she may be interested in learning more about La Pucelle, don't you agree?" Sebastien said with a smile to his father who responded at first with only a smile of his own. His ancestors through the paternal line often credited the Maid of Lorraine with saving their homeland from the English hordes and Louis II, the successor to the Bourbon Kings of France through Louis XVII, was taught everything there was to know about that girl from Domremy while he was in school.

"The deeds of the Maid should be interesting for Santina; as should be all the other activities you have planned for your Barronian wife, Sebastien. I am sure you'll have a great time with her...one that could be most pleasurable." Louis said with a grin; having no problem concealing a sexual reference in his jokes. Although he was usually modest, he had no problem with such things. "How are Mother and the others, Father?"

Louis smiled. "They are all at the Palace and await the arrival of Queen Santina with much trepidation and joy; I understand that your Mother would like to have some tea with Santina upon her arrival to chit chat in the female fashion."

"She should be here soon, Father...." Sebastien said with a smile before noticing his father going back to his limosuine. "I will wait for her at the Palace...I have work to do, my son. Make sure you do everything in your power to give her a great time."

While Sebastien began talking to the members of the welcoming party which included Roger Carpentier, who hoped that his Barronian wife would be with Santina as well, Louis II was in his limosuine; in contemplation as he looked out the window. He was a middle aged man and slowly growing older every day but he was pleased with how his life was. He had a beautiful wife and goodhearted children along with the wealth and power of a monarch. It was as if God shined upon him and he basked in that divine radiance with much thankfulness.

"A welcome party is ready for you at the capital and the coordinates shall be sent to you in about five minutes. Welcome to our beloved nation."

"Roger that control. Will maintain current heading until further instruction. Recommend you notify traffic at the airport of our current...status. Zero-Alpha out."

The ensign turned the communications channel off, and turned to the Commodore.

"Orders, sir?"

"Ergh...I hate ground controllers. So difficult. Straighten us up, and maintain heading and speed. Second Officer - you have controls."

"Aye sir. Lieutenant, starboard engines to half-power, maintain course."

The Commodore left the bridge, heading back through to the briefing room.

While Santina's airship was speeding on towards its destination, Prince Sebastien was busy talking to his father at the airport while the welcome party was finishing its final preparations. Sebastien had been anxious to see his beloved wife again and he hoped to show her every inch of his homeland that he could. It was as if God shined upon him and he basked in that divine radiance with much thankfulness.

Santina flopped on her bed, a deep sigh escaping her. How long had it been since she last saw Sebastien? Far too long, at any rate. She pulled a picture of them from the table; the picture from their wedding day. She looked more drawn, though still attractive; the latest days had taken their toll on her stress levels and thereby her body.

Dressing into the grey skirt-suit recommended by Sara, she adjusted her jacket before pulling on her shoes and heading for the briefing room. This weekend would be a welcome retreat from the rigours of her normal life: no state dinners, diplomacy...just her, her husband, and Skamania.

"Control, this is zero-alpha. Are go for landing, our men can take care of this."

The captain pulled the intercom microphone down from the ceiling, and made a call for the landing team.

"Landing team alpha, commence operations. Front doors. Operators, ready the wires. Sixty seconds until we're in position."

Doors slid open at the front of the gondolier, leather-suited men leaned ready. Behind them, wires were affixed to winches. The men hooked themselves up, before jumping out of the doorway and sliding down to the floor. Immediately, they moved in a manner showing years of drilling and experience. One immediately ran to the front, pulling a pair of guiding torches from holsters. Another two each grabbed guide ropes deployed from the sides and front of the gondola, and began pulling towards a suitable area to dock.

On the bridge, all was quiet, save the voice of the captain.

"Two forward, angle her port."

"Two forward, angling port."

"Starboard engines, three forward."

"Aye, starboard three."

"All stop!"

"Aye sir!"

"Release gas, all valves. Lower us 20 metres."

"Aye sir, 20 metres."

The airship settled into position. A ramp descended from the rear of the gondola, telescopically extending until it reached solid ground. From the rear, silently, two four-by-fours and a VLT L8 reversed, followed shortly by cape-wearing Imperial Guardsmen. They stood to attention by the cars, waiting for the final group to leave: Santina and her group. Cadence, Amelie, and Sara followed Santina to the car, the chaffeur opening the door.

The cars immediately took off, speeding to the terminal to meet Sebastien.

The city of New Paris had been built as the French themed capital of the United Enlightened Kingdom some years into the reign of King Louis I who never forgot that he was indeed a Frenchman of royal blood cast away from a land that loathed his family completely enough to kill his parents without any remorse. Although there were other cities which had once been capitals, they would not be as important in the end as New Paris was although they would still have palaces visited and inhabited by members of the Royal Family including the King. New Paris, by the time Santina had landed, was bustling with people adorning their homes with fleurs-de-lis and Lorraine Crosses in honor of Jeanne D'Arc for the centuries old festival held in her honor would soon be celebrated by the masses. St. Jeanne D'Arc Cathedral was filled with clergymen preparing for a solemn Catholic mass in her honor which would be held at the night. Sebastien planned to take Santina to this festival as he hoped to let her learn about one of the heroines of his French brethren.

Sebastien had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Santina at the terminal while he imagined the entire night in his mind but before he reached the carnal part of his daydreams, he was notified that Santina's jet had landed. He came back into reality with a grin on his face before he rushed immediately over to Santina and greeted her with a smile that showed his absolute joy of being reunited with her. "Mademoiselle, it is a pleasure to lay my eyes upon you once again." Sebastien kissed Santina's hand before escorting her to a nearby limosuine; talking in a joyful and happy tone of voice. "I have much plans for us, Santina. My parents are very interested in meeting you as are my siblings and I would like to take you to the Jeanne D'Arc Festival tonight. I hope you do not mind attending a church service in her honor; and although it will be in French I will have it translated for you."

Sebastien smiled. "I trust that you know the story of La Pucelle, Mademoiselle but let us continue with our discussion about my plans. "There will be a banquet held in your honor along with a meeting with the King and Queen of Skamania. You will see everything that is possible to see, my love, and I only desire to see you nothing more or less than simply happy during this visit."

Entering the limosuine before it began driving, Sebastien pointed to the statue of Jeanne D'Arc which was visible in the distance. The golden statue depicted the Maid of Lorraine in contemplation of the visions she had recieved and with her head raised to Heaven while her hands rested on her sword; it was one of many statues of her that could be seen throughout the nation. The caption was a French translation of the words of Shakespeare: "No longer on Saint Denis will we cry, But Joan la Pucelle shall be France's saint."

Sebastien smiled. "I may not be a full blooded Frenchman and neither may the millions of Skamanians and Dulocans be but we cherish the lives of Jeanne and other French people who have made their mark in history such as Voltaire for example, Santina. It is always good to remember people who have achieved and sacrificed much in their lives. Now, I have been able to get us a hotel room in one of the best hotels in the city; it would be nice for us to be alone, don't you think?" A grin came upon Sebastien's face before he studied Santina. "You look very beautiful today, Santina. I'm blessed to have a wife like you."

The limosuine pulled up at the five star hotel and Sebastien graciously helped Santina out of the limosuine before ordering, in French, the chauffer to wait outside. The luggage and Santina were both escorted to the hotel suite that Sebastien had reserved for the two of them and it was, when they reached it after a brief search, filled to the brim in luxuries commonly used and relished by royalty. There was a balcony that offered a great view of the city which included the steeples of St. Jeanne D'Arc Cathedral and the massive skyscrapers of multinational corporations. Sebastien smiled as he showed Santina around. "I personally made sure that we recieved only the best for your visit, my love, and I hope it is to your satisfaction. You may look around for a bit before we begin our tour of the city with a visit to the National Museum of History so you may see all sorts of historic artefacts, etc."

"Oh, sweetheart, it's so wonderful to see you again!" Santina allowed Sebastien to kiss her hand, before wrapping her arms around him and holding him close. Whilst her husband may not have believed it, for Santina absence really did make the heart grow fonder. A passionate kiss sealed the deal, hopefully driving into her husband just how much he was missed.

"My dear, I'm so sorry the children couldn't make it. The governess is taking care of them for now, but I fear that this might go over their heads. Perhaps another time. Besides," she added, a hint of mischeviousness entering her voice as she rested a hand on her husband's chest, "this is our time."

She gave her arm to Sebastien as they walked to the car, leaning against him as they made their way through the airport. She could've held him forever, never leaving that spot if they didn't have to. His reservedness, his compassion, his warmth; she was falling in love with him again, feeling once more those emotions she felt when they first met: belonging, an overwhelming desire to make him happy, a deep-rooted knowledge that she could be happy too. He understood her - understood her life, her occupations, everything. He lived the same life as her, after all: he was a monarch, just as she was.

She took her seat in the limousine, nodding to the driver with a small smile of thanks. She took her husband's hand as he sat beside her, and she moved next to him, her arm reaching around his waist.

Sebastien smiled. "I trust that you know the story of La Pucelle, Mademoiselle but let us continue with our discussion about my plans. "You look very beautiful today, Santina. I'm blessed to have a wife like you."

"La Pucelle?" Santina had done some research, at least, on her husband's country - she had looked at La Pucelle, the sheer reverence that the nation put to what can be described as a true national heroine.

"My dear, I would be honoured to be there. And a banquet is far too much for me alone! Your parents spoil me." She smiled at his last comment. "Sweetheart, there could be nothing that makes me more happy than being with you. Everything else is just a bonus."

As they passed the statue, Santina gasped aloud. "Oh, it's beautiful!
A striking pose, though I'm no art critic...when was this made?"

She leant her head on Sebastien's shoulder, a hint of his aftershave tingling her nose as she admired the landscape through the window. Skamania is as Barronia was: a beautiful, romantic land, buildings of culture and history. Barronia was now so utilitarian - her time here would be a blessing above all blessings.

"My dear, I feel the same way about my father. He brought Barronia to democracy, although he removed it not so long after. He made Barronia the power it is today, in his own way. Not quite to the same level as Jeanne D'Arc, but certainly, great changes."

She smiled, the mischevious glint returning to her eye.

"Typical male, only after one thing." She gave him a gentle push to show she was joking. "Of course, it'll be divine to spend some time alone with you. It's certainly been far too long, and I think we could do to....catch up." She winked at him, allowing him a guess at what she really meant. It wouldn't be just catching up that they'd get up to, that was for sure.

"Oh my...it's a very nice room indeed! Beautiful, in fact...and oh! That view! She stood at the balcony, breathing in the air. It seemed clean, surprisingly for a city; apparently the Skamanians took excellent care of their land.

She stared at Sebastien with a hint of incredulity. "Look around for a bit? You silly man you..." she walked over to him, before taking his hand and leading him to the bed.

-----

Fresh from the shower, Santina had just finished wrapping the towel around her hair. She sat on the edge of the bed, looking at her husband in the way only lovers do. Lieing back and falling into her husband's arms, she laid her hand on his chest and rested, happy just to be still, listening to his heartbeat, his breathing.

"So, now that we've done our catching up my dear, what was it you would have us do?"

Whilst her husband may not have believed it, for Santina absence really did make the heart grow fonder. A passionate kiss sealed the deal, hopefully driving into her husband just how much he was missed.

Sebastien embraced his wife tightly as he recieved the passionate kiss from her; indeed he knew just how much he was missed by her and he had been anxiously awaiting the day when they could be together again.

"My dear, I'm so sorry the children couldn't make it. The governess is taking care of them for now, but I fear that this might go over their heads. Perhaps another time. Sebastien grinned. "Yes....this is our time. The children, I am sure, are in good hands but let us worry for now about ourselves. I have plenty of activities for us to do during your visit and I am sure that you will enjoy them all."

She gave her arm to Sebastien as they walked to the car, leaning against him as they made their way through the airport. She could've held him forever, never leaving that spot if they didn't have to. Sebastien smiled at Santina and thought about all the things he had planned for them to do during her visit; he even thought about having a night of carnal passion or two but all he wanted really was to just be with her. After all, he loved her completely and felt like it was his duty to be there to support her.

"La Pucelle?" Santina had done some research, at least, on her husband's country - she had looked at La Pucelle, the sheer reverence that the nation put to what can be described as a true national heroine.

"La Pucelle means The Maid, Santina. Joan of Arc was known as the Maid of Lorraine by those who followed and believed in her and even by those who would eventually come to hate her. She was a stubborn thorn in the English lion's paw and it took many people to finally pull her out."

"My dear, I would be honoured to be there. And a banquet is far too much for me alone! Your parents spoil me." She smiled at his last comment. "Sweetheart, there could be nothing that makes me more happy than being with you. Everything else is just a bonus."

"My parents just want to celebrate your arrival is all; they are quite pleased with me having you as my wife.....and there is nothing more great in life than to be with you, Santina."

As they passed the statue, Santina gasped aloud. "Oh, it's beautiful!
A striking pose, though I'm no art critic...when was this made?"

"It was made during the 1800s, I believe. It is one of many statues of Joan of Arc that were built all across the nation and this one shows her looking up at Heaven in deep thought and contemplation. Indeed, she believed it was God Himself who told her to save France; the ancestral homeland of some of my ancestors."

She leant her head on Sebastien's shoulder, a hint of his aftershave tingling her nose as she admired the landscape through the window. "It would be a pleasurable honor to learn more about your father, Santina. Perhaps you can tell me more about him? I am sure that he was a great and blessed man....for he was the father of a beautiful and.....well sexy lady."

"We will be spending a lot of time alone together, Santina and don't worry....we'll do a lot of catching up." Sebastien grinned before he began studying Santina. A part of him did want to spend an hour in bed with her but he'd save that for later.

"I am glad you like the room, Santina. I personally made sure that you had one of the best rooms if not the best."

Sebastien was surprised to see himself in bed with Santina earlier than he thought but he didn't care....he had a wife who wanted him and he'd give her what she wanted.

OOC: nothing like an opportunity to tie in a pregnancy announcement :p

Sebastien was happy; he felt happy after just making passionate love to his beautiful Barronian wife and indeed he was happy that he had her as his wife and two healthy children from her. With a smile as he used one hand to hold her while the other to play with her hair, Sebastien spoke in a joyful tone.

"We will be going on a tour of the city before we have a quick dinner. We will then be going to the opening ceremony of the Jeanne D'Arc Festival and enjoying what it has to offer. It is primarily French themed for obvious reasons but I will provide you all the translations you need if any."

Sebastien turned and laid down on the bed on his side; looking into Santina's eyes. "I love you, Santina....I am so thankful that you are my wife."

OOC: Sure. It will be nice to see them with a third child.

Sebastien embraced his wife tightly as he recieved the passionate kiss from her; indeed he knew just how much he was missed by her and he had been anxiously awaiting the day when they could be together again.

Sebastien grinned. "Yes....this is our time. The children, I am sure, are in good hands but let us worry for now about ourselves. I have plenty of activities for us to do during your visit and I am sure that you will enjoy them all."

Sebastien smiled at Santina and thought about all the things he had planned for them to do during her visit; he even thought about having a night of carnal passion or two but all he wanted really was to just be with her. After all, he loved her completely and felt like it was his duty to be there to support her.

Santina broke first, though only to look into his eyes.

"I can't wait Sebastien, I can't. Oh, it's going to be wonderful!"

"La Pucelle means The Maid, Santina. Joan of Arc was known as the Maid of Lorraine by those who followed and believed in her and even by those who would eventually come to hate her. She was a stubborn thorn in the English lion's paw and it took many people to finally pull her out."

"I'll remind you of the nationality of my father, dear husband," she replied jokingly. "She sounds quite a hero nonetheless!"

"My parents just want to celebrate your arrival is all; they are quite pleased with me having you as my wife.....and there is nothing more great in life than to be with you, Santina."

"Celebrate with a banquet?" She raised an eyebrow - even at home, her return was celebrated with a military band, perhaps a drill display. Certainly not a banquet!

"Certainly very striking. Far more abstract work in Barronia, although the statue in Misenae Grand Central Aerostation is as romantic as they come. It'd be wonderful to see more of them."

"It would be a pleasurable honor to learn more about your father, Santina. Perhaps you can tell me more about him? I am sure that he was a great and blessed man....for he was the father of a beautiful and.....well sexy lady."

"Careful you, we're still in the car!" She winked at him to show she was joking. "My father...oh, my dear father. What a legacy. He was a geneticist when he met my late mother, rest both their souls.

"The government before my father was little more than a tyranny, to be frank. The government as corrupt as they come, the country was shambolic. My father led a resistance movement urging for democracy, and eventually led the group, including Conrad and Cadence, that took the King's Palace and eventually founded a new government.

"Nowadays of course, Central Government is little more than an administrative body. Elections are local rather than national, but that, we feel, is the price of progression."

"We will be spending a lot of time alone together, Santina and don't worry....we'll do a lot of catching up." Sebastien grinned before he began studying Santina. A part of him did want to spend an hour in bed with her but he'd save that for later.

"I'll remind you of the nationality of my father, dear husband," she replied jokingly. "She sounds quite a hero nonetheless!"

Sebastien laughed a little at Santina's jest before replying to her comment. ''When the French came to settle here, they brought her story with them so as to remember the peasant girl who, at seventeen, saved her nation from the pits of chaos. When she became a saint, the St. Jeanne D'Arc Cathedral was built in the Gothic Revival style for her. Most people here do not hate English people...indeed we welcome people to our nation. You would not be surprised to see all sorts of people welcoming you into the House of Bourbon-Clearwater-Kane. My father has descent from the French Royal Family because one of his ancestors was the titular King Louis XVII, the Lost Dauphin.''

"Celebrate with a banquet?" She raised an eyebrow - even at home, her return was celebrated with a military band, perhaps a drill display. Certainly not a banquet!

''It will be a banquet with all the fine food and drink that you could want and ask for, Santina. It is all going to be held in your honor. Many people like you here in Skamania and Duloc....from the commoners to royalty....my mother and father have always thought that you were a great woman for me to marry.''

"Certainly very striking. Far more abstract work in Barronia, although the statue in Misenae Grand Central Aerostation is as romantic as they come. It'd be wonderful to see more of them."

Sebastien grinned a little at his Barronian wife before sitting closer to her. ''It is sometimes hard not to be tempted by your beauty, Santina but I will restrain myself.'' Sebastien did, however, sneak a quick kiss.

"The government before my father was little more than a tyranny, to be frank. The government as corrupt as they come, the country was shambolic. ''It is better to have a good monarchy than a bad democracy.''

"No doubt, dear husband, no doubt....but my face is up here!"

''Was I looking at your cleavage, Santina? Sorry about that but sometimes it is hard not to....'' Sebastien said with a grin. ''You are just....beautiful. I was lucky to have you marry me....and I've always been thankful.''

Sebastien grinned a little at his Barronian wife before sitting closer to her. ''It is sometimes hard not to be tempted by your beauty, Santina but I will restrain myself.'' Sebastien did, however, sneak a quick kiss.

"Careful you, a place and time dear husband, a place and time..." She winked again. Whilst decorum was prized in the Barronian culture, Santina was prepared to let herself go a little now that she was "out of the office".

''My nation is an absolute monarchy but our kings would be called enlightened monarchs because they reign with the principles and ideas of the Age of Enlightenment. My father has always had much support from the people.''

"Interesting concept, I must say - my own position is merely constitutional, a propaganda tool generated by the Magisterium. Unfortunate, but, if the people are happy with my position, then I see no reason to remove it - popular approval and suchlike."

''It is better to have a good monarchy than a bad democracy.''

"Some nations would not think so...our nation is lucky in being fascist yet with so many allies; which I do believe goes to prove your point!"

'Was I looking at your cleavage, Santina? Sorry about that but sometimes it is hard not to....'' Sebastien said with a grin. ''You are just....beautiful. I was lucky to have you marry me....and I've always been thankful.''

"So you keep saying oh husband dearest, so you keep saying. You'll be able to prove it later, don't you worry." A mischevious grin made it's way to her face, and her husband knew exactly what she meant.

Sebastien smiled as he was getting dressed himself. ''Yes, you should get dressed and do not worry about the translations...I will make sure that you know the English version of every French word said, my Barronian nymph. Now, let's get ready....we have much to see!''

Santina adjusted her blouse, making sure the buttons were straight. She dived into the bathroom to apply her makeup, though no doubt her husband would think it unnecessary, her appearance to the people mattered more - her husband would think her beautiful whether it was 3pm or 3am, makeup or no. She picked up her bag and sash as she headed for the door, wrestling both over her shoulder. The sash signified her as royalty in Barronia, the navy blue adorned with a single maltese cross set with a good-sized sapphire. Despite being away, force of habit made her wear it. Besides, it was jewellery.

"Excellent, Sebastien - do lead the way."

"Just as well, I suppose. Barronia's British heritage is rather overwhelming. That's certainly quite the lineage though, Sebastien."

"I descend from the royal families of France, Skamania and Duloc; each three of these intermarried to form the current dynasty which reigns today in my beloved nation. "Some nations would not think so...our nation is lucky in being fascist yet with so many allies; which I do believe goes to prove your point!"

"If people cared about you being fascist....I wonder if I would have ever been able to marry you without people criticizing me. I don't mind you being fascist, my love, for you have proven yourself to be a goodhearted mother, a caring wife, a great leader, and a passionate lover. I don't think I could have found anyone better then you. Je remercie Dieu de vous avoir, Santina… je suis béni pour avoir une épouse si futée et belle."

"So you keep saying oh husband dearest, so you keep saying. You'll be able to prove it later, don't you worry." A mischevious grin made it's way to her face, and her husband knew exactly what she meant.

Sebastien grinned. "Of course, my love, and I must say I'm looking forward to seeing those talents of yours again. You are quite talented in....expressing your love. I know this through, shall we say, personal experience."

Santina adjusted her blouse, making sure the buttons were straight. She dived into the bathroom to apply her makeup, though no doubt her husband would think it unnecessary, her appearance to the people mattered more - her husband would think her beautiful whether it was 3pm or 3am, makeup or no. As Sebastien led his Barronian wife to the limosuine that was waiting outside for them, he could not help but simply look at her in a sense of joyful admiration. He thought she was extremely beautiful and that he was lucky to have been blessed with her being his wife and the mother of his beloved children. Reaching the limosuine, Sebastien helped Santina inside the vehicle before ordering it to commence driving through the somewhat busy streets of the city; with Sebastien constantly pointing out the landmarks for his wife so she could look out the window to see them. Statues, palaces, museums, Sebastien spared no expense in pointing them all out to his love. After a while he ordered the limosuine to stop at the entrance of the National History Museum. "Would it be to your liking, my love, to have a tour of this museum? I assure you will learn much about the history of my nation through this method and I thought that would be a nice way to start your tour of the city."

Sebastien smiled; extending his hand to Santina. "Come, Santina, let us begin our day with a brisk walk around the exhibits of this museum."

Santina was moving between samples in the fossil section of the museum. The bones of a dinosaur loomed above her, filling the hall. Her footstep echoed across the place as she hurried her husband along, eager to see anything and everything.

"Don't dawdle Sebastien! My dear me, this place has samples the Imperial Museum hasn't found - like this one here!"

She paused over a fossil, reading the information. Whilst she was no archaeologist, she had a basic knowledge of the terminology, and made a mental note to speak to the Curator-Commandant at the Imperial Museum of Natural History.

Like a child, Santina loved museums. From the Imperial War Museum in Abingdon to the Museum of Barronian National History, when she was able, she would spend her time pacing the halls of the various museums around Barronia, admiring every exhibit she could find in her free time.

"Santina, I hope you brought a good swimsuit. We can go back to the hotel to get it if you don't have it with you."

Looking back to see where her husband was, she waited for him to take the door.

Sebastien walked out of the limosuine and helped Santina into the aquatic center in the hopes that they would not be swarmed by fans and admirers as he knew that many people knew of their marriage. Sebastien got changed into his swimsuit and flexed his muscles a bit before he got into the pool. He smiled as he waited for the love of his life to come out of the women's change rooms and was admittingly anxious to see what she'd look like in that bathing suit of hers. He just hoped, though, for a great time with her.

OOC: I think I am going to close this but we can still RP the birth of their new children (on a new thread) like we discussed over telegrams a long time ago. :D

Entering the pool room, Santina was extremely conscious of herself as she tugged on the hem of her skirt and slipped into the pool. Taking deep breaths as the water ran up her body, feeling as cold as ice, she pushed off from the side and swam a length before making her way to her husband.

She held him for a moment, her arm around his waist, adjusting to the temperature of the water, before looking at him, wondering just why he had decided on a swim.

OOC: Apologies; you'll note the madness that is LION-Hegemony war - there are a few little things we need to cover, notably the retirement of our nation - and yes, you are playing a small part in that ;)

When Sebastien had noticed Santina coming out of the changing room, he was stricken with awe at the sight of his beloved wife in her swimsuit and with a smile he beckoned her to him while he began dreaming about possible events that could happen including some dreams of a rather carnal nature.

She held him for a moment, her arm around his waist, adjusting to the temperature of the water, before looking at him, wondering just why he had decided on a swim.

Sebastien smiled. "The water feels good, eh? I must say that I brought you here just to have some aquatic fun and perhaps get some exercise too so we can keep fit. There's a hot tub and sauna that we can go to as well."

He gave her a kiss and smiled before pointing to a part of the pool. "Want to have a race?"

OOC: I don't think that Skamania and Duloc will get involved in any wars. TG me with information about the "small part" I will be playing.
