End of An Age

For several weeks, they had sat in this room, arguing about whether or not to accept the scientists offers.

Although both Icet and Jules felt it was quickly becoming necessary to have an army, they felt things were being pushed too far by this man.

Jules and Tommy, however, opposed the idea of a true army, but, found themselves believing that perhaps the scientist, were he telling the truth, would be able to give them an army that had no need for weaponry.

Blindshot, all 4 members having grown up reading science fiction and comics, while always promoting peace, were torn. On the one hand, they knew an army was necessary, on the other hand, they felt the scientist was just a mad man who had lost all sense of reality.

"I'm telling you, Council Men, were you to support my research, by month's end, I'd have the first regiment ready for war." Pleaded Micheal Voorhes, noted local scientist. "You may not believe it, but, the men are reacting quite well, so far. Reverting into a state of pure rage is simple, yet effective."

"Micheal, you keep telling us this, however, doesn't this process of yours lower their comprehension, and doesn't the ever present adrenaline rush cause their life expectancy to drop greatly? They'd be under ultimate stress every moment of the day." Retorted Icet224, the Head Official of the council.

"Yes, sir. Yes, it does. However, its a small risk to pay. And only those who volunteer will be subjected to it. I've kept no secrets from my current subjects. They knew exactly what would happen to them. These are men who already suffer from great anger, or who have lost everything." Micheal pleaded, begging the attention of all in the room.

"Icet, before you respond, I say we give him a shot. If things don't work out, then we end it. If they do, well, we'll have an army capable of defending us and our allies." Tommy shot off, hoping to cath Icet off guard and get his agreeance.

"Look, we don't really believe this can work. It's probably in our best interest to bring guns into the nation, and keep them firmly in the hand of our military. However, a regiment or two of these creatures Micheal wants to make may prove useful in tight situations. Any soldier willing to do whatever it takes to suceed, without any fear of death, would truly be amazing on the battlefield. We give you our support, Micheal. However, we do wish to continue planning for a normal army." Blindshot's lead singer, finally getting a word in, stated to his comrades.

"Ok. Alright. Fine, we'll give your month, Micheal. But that's all, if you have nothing by then, then you have nothing at all. And while you're doing that, we'll follow Blindshot's idea, and start a normal army. I also want a group trained to be our personal guards. These men are to be trained in the use of fighting with butcher knives, machetes, and hand scythes. I want these people to be able to blend in, to kill without guns, and to be deadly effective." Icet224 stated, ending the argument, despite a look of disapproval from Jules.

"I'll deal with it, Icet, but, if your little group of Micheal Myers trainees goes crazy or if Professor Voorhes' wildmen truly go wild, I'm leaving it on your shoulders." Jules scoffed on his way out.

With this, the meeting ended. By the end of the month, Antarctimerica would have a military, deadly gaurds for the council, and, if things went well, a regiment or two of wildmen, thirsting only for the blood of their enemies. It was with these thoughts that the members of the council returned hom to their families, and, in the case of Blindshot's four members, groupies...

OOC: If the sci-fi deal I worked out with the wildmen and stuff isn't allowed or anything, let me know, and we'll disregard this entire thread.

OOC: Assuming it's ok, as no one's said anything to me yet.

Icet felt a starnge chill as he walked down the hallways of Professor Voorhees' lab. He'd come to inspect the current specimen that Micheal was working with, however, he feared the men being tested weren't quite what the council had been told.

Turning the final corner into the room, Icet knew that he had no idea how correct he had been. Despite authorizing the project, he'd always felt uneasy about the happenings, and wasn't quite sure what to expect.

When he walked into a room filled with what had once been men. He instantly recognized that the drugs the professor had created had different effects on different kinds of people. Although the council had been told that the men were simply having their levels of anger and aggression increased, what he saw were three very different variations on humanity caused by the drug. The smaller men had become more apelike, and brutish, their hair grown to cover their bodies(as did most of the test subjects, now that he was looking around), however, the ape men seemed to be much faster than the others, and were much better at climbing. The men of average size had obviously had their aggro level pushed much further, as their nails had grown clawlike, and their teeth had become more sharpened. Finally, the larger men, who seemed less effected by the drugs, appeared to have simply been put on a diet of steroids.

"Impressive lot, aren't they?" Micheal stated, with a triumphant expression upon his face. "The drugs have created three different soldier types, the smaller men being perfect for reconnaissance, the average men able to be trained as soldiers with ranged weaponry, with their own personal weaponry for close range, and the large soldiers trained to hold bases, or areas of importance. Nothing would get by a regiment of these men."

"Men?" Questioned Icet224. "How can you call them men? You've robbed them of humanity."

"Sir, we still have our humanity, he's only robbed us of our looks, which, weren't that great to begin with." Pleasantly replied one of the average sized creatures.

Taken aback, Icet gasped "Micheal, your tests have made them not less human, but, more than human. I must say, I am thoroughly shocked to see how well you worked. Good job."

"Thank you, sir, now, I still have the job of recruiting more and finishing my tests to give you 3 regiments of these men before the end of the month."

And with that, Micheal Voorhes escorted Icet224 back to his car, and watched him leave.

Meanwhile, Jules Krueger had been asked to check the progress of the guardsmen, being trained under Icet224's specifications, which reminded Jules a bit much of movie serial killers, right down to each guard carrying a butcher knife.

"Sir, it's a pleasure to meet you. Training is going well, and all 30 of us should be prepared to begin escorting you and the rest of the council before the end of the month."

"That's great here, Mr. Sweeney. However, I would like to see the tape of the training session I was told I'd be viewing. And, for the love of god, don't play Halloween, like the assistant in the lobby tried when I walked in." Jules replied curtly, hoping to get out as quickly as possible.

On the small screen tv before them, Jules witnessed one of the trainees being taught to walk up behind a target, and lift him off the ground with butcher knife. Just watching a man silently lift a dummy in that manner sent chills down his spine. However, Jules was now positive that the new guards would prove invaluable to the nation and the council. Any human who could willingly slaughter someone with a butcher knife, was a valuable asset, and a dangerous enemy.

"Thank you, Mr. Sweeney. You and your men now have my support. I'll bring my report back to the council at the next meeting. I look forward to your help in protecting us.

OOC: Just found out my region doesn't use sci-fi elements. Allow us to forget any part of this where it mentions the professor or his experiments.

However, I will choose to keep the guard I was building up. I believe that they're still acceptable.
