The Dawn [OOC Thread]
For all OOC to 'The Dawn'.
Overview.
Kroando disappeared for quite some time. During this time, an organization known as the 'White Hand' launched a surprise nuclear attack on Kroando, in conjunction with a bio-attack that turned the majority of the nation into beasts reminiscent of 28 Days Later. This was in an effort to 'cleanse the nation'.
The White Hand, supported by Marshall Avicon and the remanents of the military, then covered the nation in a chemical known as CL-666 - designed to kill off the disease after the elements of Antarctika failed to. The gas did in fact kill the disease, however it also had its effects upon the population. Their skin turned a deadly white... their hair fell out... their gums bleed daily... their eyes have taken on a yellow tint. The people of Kroando are 'pure' in the eyes of the White Hand, which now works to eliminate the rest of the infected and consolidate its power over the nation.

So I have a question.
What, if anything is currently left of the Kroandan Navy?
OOC: Would you be interested in a very small scale RP in which I would try to rescue an intelligence agent trapped in your nation while fighting off some remaining ''infected'' individuals and also your soldiers?
Orbath. Your idea sounds fun. I'm all for it.
Vantanas. Tough resistance as always - and the White Hand, the fanatic religious organization that just overthrew my country, would likely target your people for 'purification'.
New Manth. The Navy is pretty much in tact, operating under the direction of the White Hand. I have yet to explain this, however it involves a sort of military coup in which a large portion of the officer core is killed by agents inside the Navy. Though portions remain independent, the majority is loyal to Marshall Avicon.
Sweet, glad to hear it. Do you want me to start a separate thread?
Ya, that should keep things neat.
Given the Lyran prediliction for defence of the weak, would you be up for an RP where Lyras occupies/clears an 'infected' area, with the intent of defending survivors?
I imagine that the White Hand would be unhappy with this. But that would be ok.
I'm thinking battalion to brigade level, at this point.
Possible conjunction with Orbath in this, spreading to attempted rescue of diplomatic staff?
That would be alright. In case you were not familiar with my country, you might want to read up a bit. The entire country is made up of eight cities... of about a billion people each. Also, the survivors have all been physically changed due to the CL-666 gas - but support for the White Hand is about 50-50.
Just went through your Factbook. How up to date is it?
Hey Lyras, I'd be interested in a joint operation, however, my deployment would likely be very small.
Given your unit already enroute, you could have them land upon a Lyran warship, ready for a briefing. Your squad sized unit could be used for specific tasks within the wider operation, or could be specifically seeking high-value foreign nationals, rather than more widely clearing the sector.
Thoughts?
Bad news mate, they already jumped. However, what if you request help from my government to get some of your diplomats out and I send in a back up team which could land on your ship?
The factbook is up to date as of recent events. Everything but the events here are included.
No diplomats :(
Intervening in defence of the weak, and all that.
Howsabout said team is tasked to retake the coastal defence command positions, so as to get the weapons firing again, thus smashing up the ice, and allowing a trio of escorted Lyran transports to land at Scolar (which is the only port in Kroando).
We'll have to determine if there are any 'official' Kroandoan defensive positions still functioning. If so, you'll be able to establish it, and call in for missile strike from the fleet.
I really, really like that idea, sounds good.
Here is a link to our thread Kro.

Lets just go on the assumption that the coastal defense batteries are off line and that the naval minefields are not functioning. As to smashing the ice, you could either do that with your naval forces, or... drive across it.
Fair points. Let's proceed on the assumption that the Orbathi Special Forces are there to check, and secure the batteries, then we'll IC-ly work out how to go on.

ok found the origin of the return of Kroando,
nice to see you back, while you were gone I did take back Juventud in a BS RP, primary goals were to capture your gear and tech. for replication and/or reuse or sale.
as of now the most we would do is join up to be part of Lyras coordinated effort, after all the last thing we would want is your fleet coming back asking for the island back.

Of the coalition forces going in to secure a 'green' zone so to say, I would like to help as well. Send in a bio-warfare unit, company-regiment size depending on what is needed.
There are only so many "still waiting" type posts I can make... need something to happen so I can give a 'go' order.
Mokastana, if you really want in, just assume that you had a company of marines (or something) on exchange, and conveniently aboard one of the ships within the 'Akatharsis' Taskgroup.
All are welcome to join, but one thing Mok. While I do not mind you took back Juventud - I do mind that you have taken my tech from there. No one, other than myself, has the right to RP my forces. If I disappear, as I did, it is assumed my troops did as well - they do not remain for anyone else to RP. So if you have a stockpile of my stuff, or any of my stuff 'reverse engineered' - I would appreciate it if you would delete it.
Lyras, I'm not exactly sure what you want to happen... the infected are massed on the shores near your ships, my air force has flattened large sections of the city... Orbath's men have been attacked by both the infected and my men.

*deleted* my apologies, I was bored and you had been gone for a month, and it gave me a decent plot. However I will change it so that you just left and we recolonized it, and it never happened.
However RL just got a little more busy and the hegemony-CA war is heating up, so I will sit this one out.
Thanks. I don't mind if my tech is stolen, just so long as it is taken from me in an RP, and not arbitrarily by someone that does not have my permission.

to be honest I didn't even use it for anything, it was more of a...i may have some Kroando toys in a warehouse because of the reclaiming...in the back of my head
and besides, who knows what the future holds? your leaders may decide that they want the tropical island back
Well, if you read over my White Hand thread, that might give you a glimpse of what is to come.
Perhaps I could send another two teams, one to rescue the first and another too carry out the mission of disabling some coastal defenses?
You could, but the Coastal Defenses are off line. Had they been on... well it would be quite difficult to land. For all intents and purposes KODS, which is the integrated missile defense system defending Antarctika, is down, along with all coastal batteries. If you would like to attack the coastal positions, you are free to, but there are several thousand men manning each one.

What would make an ideal target that would allow Lyras easier access to your nation?
Hmmm... well nothing is really stopping him from landing besides the hordes of infected upon the shore. I suppose there are missile sites in the 'White Zone', but they only have 25 mile range, and the white zone is about 50 miles away from the harbor. [Keep in mind, the city of Scolar is the size of Texas. Over 1.5 Billion residents... well, former residents.]

I suppose that could be a target. What about communications towers?
