The History of the Saiyan Race
The exact history of the Saiyan Race, its ancient history, is unknown to our generation. The oral traditions, which became written, that other races and nations possessed were not begun until much later in our race’s history, just as we were beginning to become a more technologically advanced people.
However what is known is that our world, Planet Asgard, has been within our power for nigh a millennium. But it was not always thus. Once there were two peoples upon Asgard: the Saiyans and the Harkonnen. Where the Saiyans were physically powerful and posses innate abilities, the Harkonnen were a physically weak but highly advanced people; however due to that technological advancement and the ignorance forced upon the Saiyan people, a civil war broke out between the Harkonnen and the Saiyans. Led by the first Saiyan King, Tulkar, the Saiyans attacked. However the technology of the Harkonnen gave them an edge over the brute strength of the Saiyans. That is, until the rising of the full moon over the planet; an event that only happens on Planet Asgard once every 100 years. With the rising moon the Saiyans transformed into giant and immensely powerful ape-like creatures. They rampaged across the surface of Asgard, destroying everything they encountered. A civil war that had lasted for a generation, ended in one night.
After the defeat of the Harkonnen, King Tulkar claimed Asgard as the homeworld of the Saiyan people. Over the slow process of time the Saiyan people learned to control and even improve the technology that the Harkonnen had left behind, allowing them to even reach into the depths of space.
Planet Asgard
It’s largely a grim, desert world. The environment is unrelenting and harsh to those not use to it. The planet itself has a natural gravity ten times that of Terra, which as a result makes its inhabitants extra natural strength than most other races. There are several cities, some containing millions, upon the surface; though many Saiyans still live in small collectives in the wild places of Asgard.
The Saiyan
Saiyans are outwardly very similar to humans, except for their increased natural strength, ability to manipulate Ki, innate energy, with great ease, and their monkey-like tails. They are commonly seen to have black hair although there have been rare occasions when they have also had brown hair. Pure-blood Saiyan’s hair never changes length or style once it has fully grown.
Saiyans tend to share common personality traits, even at young ages. Being a war-like people; they share an innate enjoyment for conflict and fighting; choosing violence over peace with other races. Saiyans are typically very aggressive and hard-headed, with short explosive tempers. They are an intensely proud people, with a society heavily based around honor and social hierarchy. Inclined to be arrogant at times leading them to allow enemies to gain advantages in battle for fun. It appears they have a tendency to let their emotions get the better of them when roused in stimulating situations - resulting in them at times making rash decisions. They also appear to lack sympathetic emotions though by choice rather than nature shown by their relative lack of fear of death and uncaring attitude towards even blood relations. Saiyans are also quite well known for their immense appetites for food, possessing an almost insatiable hunger.
Though Saiyans share aesthetical similarities to humans they are fundamentally different on a biological level, possessing many unique abilities. Saiyans have a naturally higher strength than a lot of different species, essentially built for fighting. The naturally high gravity of Planet Asgard develops their strength further making them considerably strong at young ages. Even weak Saiyans are capable of conquering most planets alone. Through tough training Saiyans are able to reach new levels of power and the more intense training and fights they go through, the stronger they become. Saiyans possess a natural affinity to the manipulation of Ki energy allowing them to utilize flying and energy based attacks with incredible ease as well as unlocks great depths of power when needed.
All pure-blood Saiyans possess a tail, monkey-like in appearance and often coloured brown or black. The tail is a particularly sensitive area for some Saiyans, mostly weaker, low-class warriors and when grabbed or injured, it causes great pain to the owner. Other Saiyans can evolve beyond this weakness and the tail becomes no more fragile than any other limb.
The tail also provides a unique gift in that it allows a Saiyan to transform into a giant monkey-like creature. The giant ape's power level is equal to the Saiyan's power level prior to the transformation multiplied by ten. A Saiyan loses the ability to reason in this form, and will typically display berserk and destructive characteristics. However, as Saiyans mature, they are taught how to reign in their instincts and retain normal cognitive functions as giant apes.
If a Saiyan survives a near-death experience through extreme injury to the body then when the body recuperates the Saiyan grows much stronger than they were previously, their body adapting to compensate for the damage dealt. The duration of recovery does not hinder this ability as Saiyans have healed through natural, technological and mystical means and still gained substantial increases in strength. Saiyans are also able to heal from injuries at a slightly faster rate than humans and possess a greater deal of durability to damage. Saiyans also have substantially longer life span than normal humans. They also do not suffer the affects of aging, remaining more physically youthful even into advanced years.
Mythical Elements:
The most powerful ability of a Saiyan is the ability to drastically augment their speed, strength and energy by transforming into the ‘golden fleece’ of their race: the Legendary Super Saiyan; a transformed existence that launches a Saiyan to a new plateau unlike any other, making them practically invincible. In the entire history of the Saiyan race it has been passed down that only one Saiyan ever achieved it, though ultimately destroying himself because he couldn’t control the power. It is believed that the ability to become the Legendary Super Saiyan is passed down through the genetic of the elite classes of Saiyan warriors, such as the Royal Family.
Political Structure
The Saiyan race is governed by a Royal family, descended from the first king, King Tulkar. King Tulkar led the civil against the Harkonnen, forcing kings after him to try and equal his achievements in battle. It is assumed that he was the first King and it is mentioned that he was one of the smarter, more tactical Saiyans which helped lead the race to their victory. The King’s word is Law and absolute. He has the power to kill any Saiyan at will, even his own blood.
Saiyan Society
Saiyan society is divided into a caste system. There is the worker class which are suitably bred for manual labor, an intelligentsia class which help with the advancement of technology, and a warrior class which is the smallest of the three castes. The Royal Family contains breeding that combines all three of the previous. In each caste there are different levels of authority and as such it is easy to define one's place in life among the Saiyans. So while the Saiyans as a whole are as described above: that they are physically stronger and better than human beings, not all are bred for fighting. There are in fact only a few thousand within the warrior caste, and only a hand full could be considered elite.
Science & Technology
The Scouter

The Scouter, as it is called, is a monocle-like device that a Saiyan warrior will wear attached to the side of his head covering his ear with a small transparent screen that is attached to it and covers the eye. Invented first by the Harkonnen to detect when a Saiyan attack was coming, during their Civil War, the Scouter was an invaluable piece of technology that the Saiyans later utilized. With a scouter a Saiyan can detect life forms of all types, measure a beings ki-energy levels, communicate over interstellar distances, and on specially designed ones can be made to track or find certain objects such as space ships or even something as small a pebble.

The armour made by the armourers of the Saiyan race are some of the best in the galaxy, competing a bit with Mandalorian-made products in strength and durability, and can be personalized on several levels. Within the Saiyan Army the style of armour a person wears usually denotes both rank and statues. Low-Level warriors tend to wear armour that covers more parts of the body, whereas higher level warriors tend to wear armour that covers less.
Body Suit
The skin-tight jump suit of various color that all Saiyan warriors wear under their armour and most times even under their regular dress (which is not very often). The Body Suits fabric is a micro-sandwich performing functions of heat dissipation and filter for bodily wastes, dissipating the results of this into tiny microbes which collect in a small pocket that lies hidden beneath the chest piece of their armour. With this on, and a helmet, a Saiyan can even be in a 0-atmospheric situation, such as space, and it protect him from both the effects of space and the cold.
Saiyan Battleship

To better integrate the different levels of society and cut back on civil strife, the Kings of the Saiyan people created a small Navy by which normal saiyans not bred for combat like the Warrior-class could participate by serving aboard star ships that can enter battle. These same battleships serve as mobile homes for Warrior groups who are forced to serve in a quadrant for an extended period of time. Aboard are Rejuvenation Tanks, armourer’s shops, and even space for their families.
Saiyan Frigate

A more widely used star ship of the Saiyan Principality is the Saiyan Frigate which is, again, manned by members of the Saiyan race not bred from the Warrior-class. The Frigates are the most common carriers of small Warrior groups on long distant missions. It was designed to be extremely fast, making it an essential fast-reaction ship.
Saiyan Pod

Usually painted plain white with a decal denoting rank, class, and unit, a Saiyan Pod is a scary sight to catch in the skies of your planet. They are able to carry one single Warrior, elite-class warriors have personalized pods that only move under power when the DNA of their owner is recognized. Though able to travel over great distance, between entire systems and even the galaxy, it is becoming more and more common for Pods to be deployed from Frigates and Battleships.

King Corich

The 78th King of the Saiyan People is King Corich. He is a strong man with, as far a Saiyans are concerned, an easy-going temperament and has the love and respect of both his family and his people. Under him and his father before him the Saiyan people have risen to new heights of prestige and intergalactic renown.

The Queen of Saiyans is none other than the beloved wife of King Corich, Danylin (Dan-a-lin). She is a saiyan woman of great repute, for she is not only the Queen of their race but much more. In her blood runs the line of a Seer’s powers. Once every 100 years a Seer will be found amidst either the Royal Family or one of the other elite families.

The only son of King Corich and Queen Danyln is Prince Kailan. He is strong spirited and quick-to-anger type of man, as is per usual of most young Saiyan men. Though young he is already a powerful warrior and an up and coming leader. He is well liked amongst the Saiyan Army members.

He is a fair but harsh man who is relentless in combat and savage against those who would dare to harm his brother or his family.

Since his hair was such an obvious genetic mistake it caused him to be shunned by the perfectionist society of the saiyan people. This has caused him to become a fierce and highly independent warrior in the Saiyan Army, preferring to operate alone.

The most powerful ability of a Saiyan is the ability to drastically augment their speed, strength and energy by transforming into the ‘golden fleece’ of their race: the Legendary Super Saiyan; a transformed existence that launches a Saiyan to a new plateau unlike any other, making them practically invincible. In the entire history of the Saiyan race it has been passed down that only one Saiyan ever achieved it, though ultimately destroying himself because he couldn’t control the power. It is believed that the ability to become the Legendary Super Saiyan is passed down through the genetic of the elite classes of Saiyan warriors, such as the Royal Family.
Political Structure
The Saiyan race is governed by a Royal family, descended from the first king, King Tulkar. King Tulkar led the civil against the Harkonnen, forcing kings after him to try and equal his achievements in battle. It is assumed that he was the first King and it is mentioned that he was one of the smarter, more tactical Saiyans which helped lead the race to their victory. The King’s word is Law and absolute. He has the power to kill any Saiyan at will, even his own blood.
Saiyan Society
Saiyan society is divided into a caste system. There is the worker class which are suitably bred for manual labor, an intelligentsia class which help with the advancement of technology, and a warrior class which is the smallest of the three castes. The Royal Family contains breeding that combines all three of the previous. In each caste there are different levels of authority and as such it is easy to define one's place in life among the Saiyans. So while the Saiyans as a whole are as described above: that they are physically stronger and better than human beings, not all are bred for fighting. There are in fact only a few thousand within the warrior caste, and only a hand full could be considered elite.
Science & Technology
The Scouter

The Scouter, as it is called, is a monocle-like device that a Saiyan warrior will wear attached to the side of his head covering his ear with a small transparent screen that is attached to it and covers the eye. Invented first by the Harkonnen to detect when a Saiyan attack was coming, during their Civil War, the Scouter was an invaluable piece of technology that the Saiyans later utilized. With a scouter a Saiyan can detect life forms of all types, measure a beings ki-energy levels, communicate over interstellar distances, and on specially designed ones can be made to track or find certain objects such as space ships or even something as small a pebble.

The armour made by the armourers of the Saiyan race are some of the best in the galaxy, competing a bit with Mandalorian-made products in strength and durability, and can be personalized on several levels. Within the Saiyan Army the style of armour a person wears usually denotes both rank and statues. Low-Level warriors tend to wear armour that covers more parts of the body, whereas higher level warriors tend to wear armour that covers less.
Body Suit
The skin-tight jump suit of various color that all Saiyan warriors wear under their armour and most times even under their regular dress (which is not very often). The Body Suits fabric is a micro-sandwich performing functions of heat dissipation and filter for bodily wastes, dissipating the results of this into tiny microbes which collect in a small pocket that lies hidden beneath the chest piece of their armour. With this on, and a helmet, a Saiyan can even be in a 0-atmospheric situation, such as space, and it protect him from both the effects of space and the cold.
Saiyan Battleship

To better integrate the different levels of society and cut back on civil strife, the Kings of the Saiyan people created a small Navy by which normal saiyans not bred for combat like the Warrior-class could participate by serving aboard star ships that can enter battle. These same battleships serve as mobile homes for Warrior groups who are forced to serve in a quadrant for an extended period of time. Aboard are Rejuvenation Tanks, armourer’s shops, and even space for their families.
Saiyan Frigate

A more widely used star ship of the Saiyan Principality is the Saiyan Frigate which is, again, manned by members of the Saiyan race not bred from the Warrior-class. The Frigates are the most common carriers of small Warrior groups on long distant missions. It was designed to be extremely fast, making it an essential fast-reaction ship.
Saiyan Pod

Usually painted plain white with a decal denoting rank, class, and unit, a Saiyan Pod is a scary sight to catch in the skies of your planet. They are able to carry one single Warrior, elite-class warriors have personalized pods that only move under power when the DNA of their owner is recognized. Though able to travel over great distance, between entire systems and even the galaxy, it is becoming more and more common for Pods to be deployed from Frigates and Battleships.

The 78th King of the Saiyan People is King Corich. He is a strong man with, as far a Saiyans are concerned, an easy-going temperament and has the love and respect of both his family and his people. Under him and his father before him the Saiyan people have risen to new heights of prestige and intergalactic renown.

The Queen of Saiyans is none other than the beloved wife of King Corich, Danylin (Dan-a-lin). She is a saiyan woman of great repute, for she is not only the Queen of their race but much more. In her blood runs the line of a Seer’s powers. Once every 100 years a Seer will be found amidst either the Royal Family or one of the other elite families.

A mid-ranked Saiyan Warrior Tandir is an albino, for which has caused him to grow up as an odd-man out in most social activities. Since his hair was such an obvious genetic mistake it caused him to be shunned by the perfectionist society of the saiyan people. This has caused him to become a fierce and highly independent warrior in the Saiyan Army, preferring to operate alone.
