The ASoGM now has a working design for an Arsenal Ship, which it plans to use to replace its aging battleships. These new ships are designed to deliver missiles of all types to its target(s). It is mission configurable with up to 500 VLS launch tubes, has a much lower radar cross section than a Montana class battleship, and were designed to cost less to purchase, maintain, and operate. It has a high level of automation, which means that it only needs a crew of approximately 50, compared to a crew of up to 2,789 that a Montana class needs. Specs are:

Speed:
30 knots
Armament:
up to 500-cell Vertical Launch System (VLS) for various missiles
Tomahawk Land-Attack Missiles (TLAMs)
Crew:
approximately 50; designed to be highly automated
Design:
Low radar signature ("stealthy")
double hull
length 650'
Cost:
$600 Million each

(OOC: This is intriguing, but information is pretty scarce and I, not being any sort of expert, can't really tell if this is feasible. I'd be interested to see what more experienced people have to say about it.)

We would consider a purchase or two, but we will need time to verify that your nation and your product meet the standards required by our laws.

We would also like to know how versatile this vessel is. Is it simply an automated battleship, or could it be used, for example in an air defense capacity, to shoot down incoming missiles?

With salutations,

Department of Defense, Skyland Mt.

[OOC: Well, assuming I qualify as more experienced...

This is a direct ripoff of an old, abandoned USN concept, not an indigenous design.
Reasons for cancellation were:
* Lack of effectiveness and reliability
* Impossibility to engage mobile targets

OOC: IIRC, there are others on here that have similar designs.

OOC: NS Draftroom (see sig) is your best friend for actually evaluating and improving designs. And I mean "improving", nothing, even my designs, exits NSD the way it came, it becomes better, either in realism or in usefulness, or both.

How original.

Give me more specs. Give me draught, displacement, sensors, missile types, and propulsion details.

OOC: I never claimed that this was an original concept. Actually, from what I found out, the reason the Arsenal Ship was canceled was a funding one. They had decided to fund the DDX concept instead. Do you have a source for your claims? If so, please telegram it to me, so we can keep this thread free of OOC posts.

OOC: Do you have Carriers? Battleships? Dreadnaughts? Cruisers? Destroyers? Frigates? If so, how original. :p And I'm not the first person to bring the Arsenal Ship concept to NS. Leafanistan has one, as does DMG (he calls it a guided missile cruiser), 1010102 has one too (that's significantly larger than mine will be). That's all I could find on short notice, but there could be more.

To both Vault 10 and Questers, the specs I will work on, but please keep OOC posts to a minimum. Any other issues with my design, please telegram me.

We will puchase one of these ships, with more orders potentially to follow. It is always a pleasure to do bussiness with another democratic nation.

Sincerely,
The Ministry of Defense,

The Raven Corporation has been building and deploying Arsenal Ships for some time of my own design. Perhapes I could help with redesigning yours to meet standards.
