Open offer

Our Aviation Museum is currently undergoing expansion, and, as such, we are interested in procuring a variety of aircraft as full-realism display pieces. Both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft from all over the world will be considered.

The number will vary depending on how original or historically significant the plane is - less significant aircraft will only be displayed in our central museum, while the most significant ones may get large orders.
For key designs we would purchase up to 20 airframes: 3 each for museums of Hub International Airport, SF City, New California Republic, central ALC Museum, Arroyo-Klamath, and 5 for long-term preservation. Amount may vary.

We would prefer half the aircraft in the same variant as the one most commonly used by your forces, for display, and half, if they are usually single-seat, as two-seaters, for demonstration flights.
In cases where a plane isn't normally exported and secrecy regulations prevent their transfer, we accept removal of sensitive equipment, but keeping the looks, and the avionics should at least seem to be working as seen from inside the cockpit.

All aircraft should be in working condition, preferably with little or no wear, as they are intended for long term. This includes working engines, intact mechanics, and functional avionics. Our Aviation Museum always offers the visitors an opportunity to actually climb aboard the aircraft and see what the pilot would see.

We are interested not only in fighter aircraft, but large size of most bombers makes us less inclined to purchase them - only the more original designs would be purchased. Non-combat aircraft will be displayed as well, if they have some significance. Our Aviation Museum aims to accommodate not every plane ever made, but every significant or interesting of them.
Generally we are ready to pay full list price, but discounts are welcome. Remember we're intending to preserve the planes for the history and put them on public display, which would make an advertisement in itself. After renovation, our museum will be open to visitors from all nations, both dedicated tourists and passengers commuting through company airports near the Museum departments.

Also, we would be more interested in the plane if you provide a brief overview for the display plaques. If your aircraft has a history of use in famous wars, it would be a particularly good addition. Otherwise, just a short overview about what makes it special would be fine.
Generally, it would be desirable (though not essential) to fill in the following chart, completely or partially:

Image: (if there is one, not necessary)
Name: (Full name, including designation and role. Also, don't forget to give a link to the design thread.)
Overview: (what makes it interesting)
First flight: (IC, year is enough)
Retired in: (IC, if applies)
Number built: (very approximate figure is sufficient)
Unit cost: (internal cost of a new plane)
Designed in: (OOC, year and preferably month)
Designed by: (nation, company or design bureau, other)
Used by: (nations or corporations)
Served in: (wars and conflicts)

This is not a limit to the application; we're interested in additional information, and you can apply in any form. This chart is simply the basic data that will appear on the plaque - it can be expanded at your will.

We'll consider every application, purchasing ones deserving preservation in our Museum; we hope most of them will be accepted.

[OOC Notes:
* Modern and Past Tech only. In rare cases early-PMT, but never far-PMT.
* It should be an actual design, don't make up planes just for it. Also, it must be more than just a stat block, unless it has a rich history.
* Picture is not necessary, but if it's there, it should not be a real-life aircraft.
* Yes, there'll be a museum thread, with aircraft posted.
* And please, don't post just the chart, if you have time - more IC-complete posts would be more interesting. And for non-sale designs, notify if you can't offer them without stripping-down, or write if there are any special conditions. ]

Image: I'll try to find it
Name: VA-42 "Thunderer"
Overview: The VA-42 was one of the first Volzgradien aircraft ever built, and it was used in several key events in our history. The first and most prominent was its use in overthrowing the Czarist government in 1952. One of the most recognizable Volzgradien Soviet pictures was a VA-42 strafing the fleeing Czar's APC. The VA-42's design was heavily borrowed from the Yak series of planes built by the Soviets, however, there were several enhancements added by Volzgradien engineers. Unlike the Yak-9, which was a fighter, the VA-42 was designed to be a ground support aircraft that would support advancing Communist tank columns. After the war, the VA-42 was exported to several nations and continued to be used until 1960 when it was replaced by jet aircraft.
First Flight: 1942 (prototype), 1949 (combat)
Number built: 15,000+
Unit Cost: $2 million (1945, highest cost), $50,000 (2008, many of them have broken down).
Designed in: 1941
Designed by: Mikhail Valienkov (VA is derived from his last name)
Used by: Volzgradien Navy, Marine Corp, and Airforce. Later exported to several other Warsaw Pact nations.
Served in: Communist coup, Volzgradien-Touranvor War, Aziast War, Volzgradien Civil War, countless other international and national conflicts.

ALC Aviation Museum Statement

We would like to thank you for all offers. Currently they are undergoing consideration, and we are waiting for more aircraft to review, as to make better decision on space assignment.

OOC: Some notes:
- An actual design thread or article is very desirable if the plane is to be in the museum thread, with a link of course.
- Name the conflicts! If it's all conflicts you had, name all of them, as long as they were RPed in the II. It will one of the key features, the Museum is to reflect history. Links would be nice, but I can find them myself as well.

ALC Aviation Museum,

We would be proud to produce the XF-200 Super Starfighter, our take on the Starfighter of old. It has served the United Republic admirably, and once modified with experimental Hydrogen Combustion Engines...which didn't end well. Either way, we present one model to you for your viewing pleasure. It is the aircraft that helped shape a Republics future.

Sincerely,
Grand Marshal Robert Yale

Overview
The XF-200 Super Starfighter was copied from the United States Air Force Starfighter Aircraft, and therefore reproduced at a time in Anagonia's history where war had been constant, and not many aircraft had been produced fully by Anagonian hands. Anagonian Air Defense Industries took forefront, and produced a lightweight airframe with fly-by-wire instruments, upgrading the engine to a Mark 5 Advanced Turbine Jet Combustion Engine with 20,000 to 32,000 lbs. The XF-200 can reach speeds up to MACH 2.5, or roughly around 1,875 mph. The cockpit was equipped with an Advanced Avionics Suite, compilling the then-new Microwave Passive/Active Radar System which produces high-levels of microwaves to read its surroundings. Although in later versions the Type I Microwave Active/Passive Radar System was replaced with a more advanced radar array of classified proportions.

The XF-200 is a multi-role aircraft capable of Carrier Based Operations and quick airborne emergencies. It carriers up to 8,000 lbs of bombs under the wings for strategic or tactical operations, and can have various air-to-air to air-to-ground missiles. The configuration various greatly.

The Main role of the XF-200 is of scout aircraft now, concerning it is heavily outmatched with the new advanced aircraft of these modern times. Its about ten decades old, and because of its superior design still serves in most parts of the Anagonian Air Force.

Overview: The GA-101 Artemis was designed to be a premier ground attack fighter, able to cruise at speeds as low as 80 knots to track and launch attacks on enemy troops, armor, and emplacements. It excels at the role of a close air support craft where its speed (up to about Mach 1.7) allows it to close quickly with the enemy, deliver its payload and retreat from the battlefield before interceptor or air superiority craft can be scrambled. The Artemis is also designed to be able to provide forward air control missions, flying low and slow to assist larger aircraft with heavier payloads in attacking ground targets near friendly positions by locating targets and painting the location of enemy forces. When necessary, the GA-101 Artemis is also a capable fighter in the air interdiction role, taking out ground targets ahead of friendly forces to assist them in pushing forward.

Propulsion: 2× Lavar Aero RM17 afterburning turbofan, 27,000 lbf dry, 31,100 lbf with afterburner (1:1.02 at max wieght)

We would like to offer our F-3 Eagle for your museum, and have the following information for you.
Image: Eagle on display (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h52/nx9100/f86e_1792.jpg)
Name: F-3 'Eagle' Air Superiority Fighter/Interceptor (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=555725)
Overview: Designed as Delkor's first turbine-powered fighter, the F-3 'Eagle' became the most heavely used aircraft in the kingdom's history. It saw combat for the first time in a brief civil war against Northern Delkor rebels, who were operating much older piston-powered aircraft. The F-3's, with better trained pilots, easily defeated the Rebel Air Army, with only 6 downed aircraft to over 300 kills. However, it was in Naval service that the F-3 made won its greatest victory. While assisting the nation of Sammy34, which was in a civil war, an Imperial Navy F-3c 'Sea Eagle', from the carrier I.D.S. Gondor (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h52/nx9100/Chadek-classPatrolCarrier-1.jpg), engaged and shot down a rebel F-22 'Raptor', using only its 6 0.50 in guns. Upon his return, pilot Lieutenant Doresk was personally thanked by High King Tironus, and had an F-22 kill marker painted on his fighter. The fact that an 'outdated' design was able to shoot down one of the world's most advanced fighters has become a great source of pride for the Imperial Air Core.
However, all good things must come to an end. The F-3 has now been retired from service, replaced by the F-5 'Preybird' (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h52/nx9100/Aircraft/F5D.jpg). This marks the end of an era, as the 'Eagle' has served in the Delkorian Military for over 40 years. It has become a symbol for the public, and will be sorely mised. While some F-3's are still flown for public events, their chapter in history of the Delkorian Air Core is done.

Name:
AAS Imperator
Type:
President-class Aerobattlecraft
Overview:
The President-class airship harks back to an era where aircraft were never such a threat: instead of modern faster-than-sound jets, the skies were ruled by prop-driven fighters. At this time where this giant amongst airships was able to move relatively unharmed through the skies, it was feared for its dstructive power: the massive lift generated by 950 metres of gas bag meant that it could carry over 2000 tonnes in munitions. With the power to destroy a small country, this type of craft always was the first target of enemy attacks. Therefore escorted by a pair of aerodestroyers (about 1/4 of the main airship's length each), alongside numerous gun turrets about the crew gondola area, it made a formidable foe to enemy aircraft.
The age of missiles and jets gave it little problems: in each refit, newer systems were integrated to provide a countermeasures screen few missiles could penetrate, alongside the implementation of missile racks for taking down both aircraft and ground targets.
Alas, the obsurity of this airship class was finally shown in 1986, when the AAS President herself was downed in a mid-air collision between her and a hijacked jetliner. The aircraft managing to cut right though to the centre of the airship, it allowed relase from the gas core of hydrogen, ignited by burning jet fuel. The fire that raged through the airship eventually caused it to be ditched in the Milkavich rainforests, through the loss of control after fire spread through to the control gondola. After this incident, aerobattlecraft were reviewed, and deemed an un-necessary burden on the aerofleet. As a result, the airships were over the next 20 years decomissioned, either being broken up and sold as scrap or sold to museums and private companies.
The AAS Imperator, in her time before being decomissioned in 2007, operated in many theatres as an ultra-heavy support craft - Hervia is just one example of the craft in operation, that being its final operation before being decomissioned.
First flight:

Number built:

OOC: Thanks, however, indeed, designs with links to threads and pictures are much preferred - I know you have such. It's intended to reflect both IC and OOC history, i.e. history of aircraft design.
Also, something smaller would be perhaps more suitable

BTW, if talking about something expensive, it would be good to specify what would the museum have to pay... even though it's not poor, the Aviation Museum, as all museums, doesn't receive all too much funding.

P.S. I'll reply IC a bit later, when there's more aircraft presented.

We thank Yanitaria for their kind donation. The aircraft will be exhibited in out Central Aviation Museum.

Also, we have decided to procure the Olympus Class Air Yacht from Prevania, to serve as a fine example of an airship, to be moored on the outside.

From SaintB, we would like to procure 10 examples of the GA-101 Artemis, for $50 million.

To Delkor, we need to inquire, at what cost would it be available to the Museum?

Thanks for all applications.

Name: Jango-22 Dingo Class Fighter Jet. The nickname is 'Dingo'
Overview: The Dingo Fighter Jet was used in the year 1990 during the years of pirate attacks against the shorelines of Lynion itself. The Dingo's would wipe out the pirate aircraft's and escort several Hunter Topedo Fighter Jets to sink the pirate fleet. The Dingo in the year 1995 was over look and plans were drawn to upgrade the fighter jet and increase it's engine power as well as armments. In the year 2000, the Dingo was upgraded to a high powered, increased speed and a few more armments. It would be tested and nearly withdrawn from the Lynion Air Force after another pirate engagement occured. Once again the Dingo Fighter Jet would push back the pirates nearly by itself. Since then, the Dingo Fighter Jet has being highly valued amongest our air force and the defense's of Lynion. It earned the favour of Lynion after it sank numerous capital ships, destoryers and pirate cruisers during the last pirate war. The Dingo is a powerful jump-jet.

First flight: 1989
Retired in: Still in comission
Number built: 900 currently built
Unit cost: We don't sell our aircraft but it would be close to $300 million. However, we have a relic one, badly damaged and all technology, armments etcra have being removed. We will sell you that one for $10 Million
Designed in: August 1986
Designed by: Kingdom of Lynion
Used by: None
Served in: Pirate Wars, 5 Peace-Keeping Missions and the current conflict in Rynibar

Name: Lynx-24 Dogfighter Hunter Fighter Jet (nickname: Hunter)

Overview: The Hunter was first put forward as a desperate attempt to hold back pirate attacks in Lynion early years. The fighter would mainly cause havoic and chaos along the frontlines and later would sink many pirate ships and fleets. Built in the 1960 as a fighter against pirates, it would become Lynion's main fighter jet during that time. In 1990, it would fly alongside it's brother aircraft, the Dingo Fighter Jet and would once again be called upon to fend off pirate attacks and open channels. In 1991, it was purposed that the Hunter should be upgraded and after five month's of planning, it was re-armmed, re-armoured and was granted a more powerful engine. The new upgrades would give the Hunter the edge it required to restore order to the skies above Lynion.

In 1996, it would have another engine upgrade but it wasn't until 2001 it would have its finally upgrade. The last upgrade gave it slightly more powerful engine power, high powered cannon, missile's and topedo's in order to smash pirate raids and attacks along the Lynion coastlines. In 2007, the Hunter would be recongised as a powerful fighter jet after it sunk five pirate capital ships and numerous pirate warships. Since then it is a highly prize fighter jet. The Hunter is a powerful jump-jet

We'll be interested in the Jango-22, but, however, if it's not yet so, we would have to ask for the unit's looks to be restored to a reasonable level, as it would be difficult for us to recreate it.

As for Lynx-24, considering its age, could we have some of the retired airframes?

Due to the dissolution of Dat' Pizdy Aerospace and following government mandate, Northern Aviation Industries [Noravia] has come into the possession of several DP-21 airframes. Currently, we are disposing of these airframes to qualified museums, heritage sites, and private parties. To this end, Noravia would like to donate as many airframes are required by the ALC Aviation Museum. All have been refurbished and maintained, as they are only recently out of service. These are, however, the most recent block of DP-21. Very few original DP-21s exist, however, we do maintain one flightworthy DP-21 Block 0. This particular airframe, serial 210-0000359, maintains the longest recorded missile kill of a fighter aircraft during wartime in Armed Republic history at 417km using a CFAR XRAAM with a discarding booster, in addition to having three different pilots achieving ace status (12 kills, 8.5 kills, and 5 kills). This single airframe has over 40 kills attributed to it. As part of the exhibit at the former Dat' Pizdy Aerospace headquarters, the actual recorded fire control data, radar imaging, and other information from the 417km missile kill as well as various sorties flown in the Belem War I is stored in the aircraft's fire control system and provides anyone sitting in the aircraft to witness the exact information that the pilot was given including the radio transmissions of missile launch and the impact confirmation from an F-57C pilot performing target overwatch in the area of operations.

The DP-21 has seen service in several countries. Unfortunately, only a handful are known due to the destruction of records related to the export of the DP-21. To this extent, only conflicts which the Armed Republic or known client states (Kak Khemet) participated in are listed. We hope the DP-21 makes a valuable addition to the ALC Aviation Museum.

DP-21E, export version of DP-21 in Khemeti colors; Original DP-21 photos lost to time

Name: DP-21 Electronic Warfare/Long Range Aircraft Interceptor; http://forums.jolt.co.uk/archive/index.php/t-287901.html [actual original thread]

Overview: The DP-21 was an attempt at creating a potent missile armed electronic warfare aircraft intended to create a "long range interceptor" in a nontraditional sense. To accomplish this, the DP-21 used, at the time, a competent EW/ECM suite to provide stand off EW while carrying up to eight long range air-to-air missiles. The CFAR XRAAMs, as used by the DP-21, were extremely effective until adequate countermeasures were developed. In fact, during the DP-21's first full combat usage during the Belem War fought in Buechoria, the DP-21 tallied a 300:1 kill to loss ratio, then unheard of for an aircraft whose maximum speed was not much more than Mach 1. When effective countermeasures were developed and when the usefulness of such an aircraft was reduced, the DP-21 served as an expanded-role EW aircraft for the remainder of its service life and continued to serve until very recently as a dedicated, albeit heavily modified, EW platform in the Air Force of the Armed Republic. The "export" version, a much later creation for sale to non-aligned states, sees service in several nations in Karain. The DP-21E, in service in Karain, has only witnessed a single fatality in the cockpit, in a recorded number of over 1,000 engagements. This has been attributed to the advanced life support and ejection seats available on DP-21s.

First flight: 2003

F-5 Bandit

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/SaintB/Bandit.png
F-5C Bandit w/4 x .50 caliber machine guns and 1,200 hp engine.

Overview: Early WWII era fighter plane; converted to a dive bomber in 1943.
First flight: Jan 3rd, 1936
Retired in: August 19th, 1947
Number built: 1,638
Unit cost: $76,000 USD
Designed in: 2008
Designed by: SaintB
Used by: Goldaron, The Federal Union
Served in: World War II

The F-5 Bandit came into service for the Royal Air Corps Late in 1938. Designed by Goldaron Aerodynamics the Bandit was the first monoplane in use by Goldaron's armed forces. The original Bandit was armed only with 4 x .30 caliber machine guns which were adequate for engaging the old biplanes of the time and a 900 HP engine. It was also lightly armored but featured self sealing fuel tanks and was thought of as ideal for the role of long range fighter as it had a top speed of 304 mph and a range of almost 600 km. However the rapidly evolving technology of Aerial combat would prove the Bandit a feeble warrior.
In December of 1939 the Bandit saw its first combat action when a squadron of 20 of these aircraft engaged a formation of enemy bombers. While fast and maneuverable for a fighter of its time the F-5 was poorly equipped; the squadron suffered 8 craft down and another 4 severely damaged while only scoring a total of 2 kills; both attributed to the soon to be ace pilot Donald Dee. Realizing the need for a stronger aircraft the Goldan Air Force quickly enacted a program to equip the Bandit with heavier armor and replace the primary weaponry with .50 caliber machine guns.
By March of 1940 the entire fleet had been re-equipped and a major improvement in combat performance was already noted when Bandit squadrons began to score a 4:3 kill to death ratio. This variant, the F-5B was still below standards for most combat aircraft of the day and an initiative was enacted to replace the aircraft with the F-7 Bushwhacker; however there were production problems due to bombings in 1940 to 1942. In the meantime the F-5 Bandit received another make over; the engine was replaced with a much more powerful 1,200 HP engine was added; jacking the aircraft's speed up to just over 327 mph and allowing it very good maneuverability.
In the summer, fall, and winter months of 1942 the Bandit's Kill to Death ratio jumped to 2:1 and then once more to 3:1. In 1943 the Bandit continued in its combat role alongside the F-7 Bushwhacker until September when the far superior F-7 was fully integrated. This did not however spell doom for the now famous fighter.
In December of 1943 the F-5 Bandit was given a new makeover and re designated as the DB-9. Two of the front mounted .50 caliber machine guns were removed to allow the integration of hard points allowing the Bandit to carry a single 1,000 lbs bomb, four 200 lbs bombs, or one aerial torpedo. The Bandit was also renovated to accompany a second crewman whose job was to man the dual .30 caliber machine guns mounted to deter hungry enemy fighters.
Though its top speed had been reduced to just under 300 mph the agile DB-9 Bandit proved to be difficult 'meat' for enemy fighter planes and served with distinguished marks as a dive bomber until the end of the war in 1945. It was said by one enemy commander "They call it the Bandit because it steals the life away from your soldiers before you know what happened!"
The remaining 362 Bandits were retired from the Goldan Air Force in August of 1947. The Federal Union acquired and used the B and C versions of the F-5 from 1941 until 1944.

STW Inc. and the Constitutional State of Goldaron would like to offer to your fine establishment several replicas of the F-5C Bandit built exactly to the requirements of the day. All we ask is that you donate a substantial sum of money to the new International Goldan History Initiative.

I wish to say that we have one Jango-22 Dingo Fighter Jet ready to be served as a relic at the museum with fake weapons and machine guns. The engine have being down graded to the very first engine that was used in combat.

The Hunter is ready to be sent over to the museum. We have fitted it with its first topedoe it would use and all weapons are fake and the engine has being down-graded to 1980's version.

They'll be sent once we have a confirm report that you are ready.

F-9 Barracuda, Air Superiority Fighter (F-9A/Fighter Bomber (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=526581)
First flight: (October 26th, 2004)
Retired in: Still in service as of 2009
Number built: (6,700+)
Unit cost: 40 million USD (2004, but now probably 65 million USD)
Designed in: (December 2006)
Designed by: (Air Research and Development Corporation, Calizorinstan)
Used by: (Calizorinstan, United Kingdom 2, SaintB, StrickNasty, Greal, Kohinland, Wilhemlsborough, Cazelian Air Force, Shiloba, Southern Lerasian Air Force, )
Served in: (Calizorinstanian Civil War, Communist Conflict, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Khilstanian Wars, Dominion Commonwealth Crisis and various other conflicts including the Southern Holdinia War and the Firehelper Revolution)
Overview: The F-9 Barracuda came about when in 2001,the Calizorinstanian Air Force requested an air superiority fighter that was the equivalent of the F-16 Fighting Falcon, but they wanted it even more stealthy and with more range. It was also a requirement that there be one seat and two seat variants for the fighter bomber role and for the air superiority role. So, ARDC stepped up to the plate with their F-AX concept and with a couple of other companies entered the Air Force's Next Generation Fighter competition, and ARDC ended up winning. When it entered service in 2004, the reception to the plane was cautious at first, but when pilots got to fly the plane they liked it. And they liked the plane for it's handling abilities and how easy it was to fly when they were all tired and worn from a dogfight. Then the export sales took off, in the span of the 7 years it has been on market, 11+ Air Forces have ordered 2,000+ of the type. It paid off the development costs for the jet, so it is quite successful. It was used in 7 conflicts that Calizorinstan has been, and it has bagged a kill ratio so far of 100:2 or roughly 50:1.

The fact that it is projected to be retired in the year 2067, is amazing in of itself. When it is retired, it will be the first and only homemade fighter made in Calizorinstan thus far, but for a first fighter it served remarkably well.

Aeronautical Research and Development thus wishes to send to you the second YF-9A Prototype to your fine establishment, if you want other airframes, we have more high time airframes that have been used in conflicts to send to you.
