OOC: Looking to be a peacekeeping force; Wondering how to manage it

You can probably guess from the title, but just in case, I'll state it.

This is a new nation of mine, although I have about 1 month's experience with NS, not necessarily RP'ing (I am in one at the moment). I am basing this country's economy on Canada's, so its Armed Forces will be mostly dedicated to the Peacekeeping force, whilst maintaining a strong Army and Navy. Not much planned for an Air Force.

But yeah, soon enough, I'll be a nation with a good enough population to provide alot of people with Peacekeeping troops. Right now, I only have around 30,000 Peacekeepers, with the rest of my 140,000 troops enlisted in the army and navy. Any help with managing this kind of country would be much appreciated. Add my MSN if possible - rs2_w00t@hotmail.com (The o's are zeros). If you're wondering how Canada's economy works, just wiki it.

Thanks

By peacekeeping do you mean interfering in conflicts in the interest of ending the war/conflict, acting as safeguarder of human rights/interests in oppressed countries, or merely deploying troops into nations suffering from civil wars and or civil unrest?

I just mean safeguarding in the name of human rights and stuff including natural disasters; plus the civil conflicts that go on.

Only problem is most wars in NS are fought between large, well equipped combatants that don't take kindly to peacekeepers interferin in their wars.

Exactly. Really authority on NS is based around your nation's size, how long you've been around, and how large and powerful your army is. For instance if Doomingsland wanted to become a peacekeeper (theoretically of course), he'd most likely have much success seeing as he produces extremely powerful weapons, have massive legions at his command, is highly respected on the forums, and has a large nation.

However, I don't wish to discourage you completely from the idea. A good plan might be to form a coalition of nations to form a peacekeeper federation. With combined authority, armies, etc you might be able to pull it off.

Perhaps you could offer to send some peace keepers to the farmland provinces in this thread. (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13693881#post13693881)

Right now my military forces for my nation only number around three hundred thousand militia-like troops, and they are having troubles fighting a rebellion in the capitol city and the farming provinces need to be quelled, but the Nationalist military is a bit too... harsh to be entrusted with a task of this sensitivity.
