The West Corinthian Times
Yesterday, May 12th, the Imperial Republic of West Corinthia welcomed its 5 billionth citizen to the world. The child, a boy, was born just after midnight to Mr. and Mrs. Septimus. The couple live in downtown Ostia. When asked what they were going to name their son, the couple answered:
"We are going to name him Vasili Kotov Septimus. I always liked that man."
Vasili Kotov, of course, the founder and first Czar of the West Corinthian state. This July will mark the sixth anniversary of Kotov's assassination at the hands of the now-infamous religious cult known as "The Tribunal."
Czar Ptolemy was visibly delighted by the news of the newest citizen in his country. When informed, the Czar answered:
"This is excellent news and a great leap forward for West Corinthia. This country has grown tremendously from when it was founded -- economically, socially, politically, and militarily-but this event is truly one which I shall never forget. Hail West Corinthia!"
To celebrate, today has been declared a tax-free holiday and there will be government-sponsored parties in every major city. The government is truly pulling no stops when it comes to celebrating this landmark in Corinthian history.
