Several prominent politicians, mainly Representative Assembly members and Senators, will be coming as well. At present, the total number of Monavians present should number about 25.

President Stinson was walking nervously around the National Cathedral. Certainly, he had seen the marriages of others, but it was vastly different when you were the one that was getting married.

Finally, one of his aides ushered him into a limo, and sent him off to Government AFB; where he would be available to greet all of the incoming guests.

Word had come for the guests to assemble at Government AFB, an installation located just outside Nephi. Ambassador Lucas from Manhattanite was one of the first dignitaries to arrive, having only had to come from her embassy in the capital. It was times like that Sarah Lucas as grateful for the embassy limo, though the little Manhattanite flags on the bonnet *were* a bit ostentatious, especially for driving in a country that most Manhattaites beleived was invading their own. Asking her driver to park the vehicle, Lucas, wearing a formal dress uniform, moved over to President Stinson to pay her respects.

Giving the Lamonian President a stiff bow from the neck, she extended her hand. "Mr President, I can only thank you again for everything you are doing for my country. I hope we will not allow such...awkwardness to spoil your day"

While Stinson was busying himself with meeting the guests and any ambassadors who may have made their way to the Cathedral, Adelaide was busy with her friends and relatives who were all so happy and glad to see her finally marrying after numerous failures when it came to men. They had met Stinson before and most of them thought he was suitable for her but time would tell in the end, they'd say. Dressed in a fancy, expensive and exquisite wedding dress that was, in all ways, suitable for a noblewoman or princess, Adelaide was busy contemplating the new life that was soon to be hers.

She looked at her reflection in a nearby mirror and smiled before mentally jumping into a vision of herself as the First Lady of Lamoni and the husband of a foreign leader. "I'll serve him well...." Adelaide uttered softly. "...I'll be a good wife."

An elegant black limousine arrived at the Government AFB, the discreet flags on the bonnet revealing that it belonged to the Zaheranian embassy. The driver parked the vehicle next to the Manhattanian one and opened the door for the ambassador. Dressed in the traditional clothes of the Zaheranian noble, black uniform trousers and a silk shirt embroidered with the colours of his house, Nicholas Zimmer was a impressive sight. Seeing the president of Lamoni standing with the ambassador of Manhattan Prime, he walked forth to them, smiling politely. "My congratulations, Mr. President", he said, bowing formally. "It is a good day getting married on".

The Monavian Ambassador to the Free Republic of Lamoni was busy travelling to the National Cathedral, along with her assorted staff and aides. She entered a black limosine with her subordinates, and was quickly driven off to their destination.

Meanwhile, the Monavian politicians that had decided to attend the wedding were airborne over Lamonian soil. They would all be landing within the hour. During the course of their arrivals, the pomp and ceremony associated with their arrival would definately bring about much attention.

When Elenor Shanks arrived at the Government Air Force Base to mae a stop along the way, she entered a building to rest for a moment and share a few words with some of the other Monavian guests that were arriving by plane via radio.

She was told that she would be given a telagram with some important news by one of the visitors and was further instructed to personally deliver it to President Stinson.

"Good morning, honourable guests. We have just begun our final descent into Nelphi's Government Air Force Base. Touchdown will be in approximately twenty minutes."

The captain's announcement came as President Marco di Castello, Prime Minister Giustino Tuono and Minister of Foreign Affairs Carolina Chan shared stories about their respective weddings all those years ago. "Now if only I could have travelled in this much style to my own wedding", remarked the prime minister. "You did have a limousine, at least", said Mrs. Chan. "Yes, but not my own personal Concorde!" They all broke out in laughter. "I propose a toast to the happy couple, and to us of course", interjected the smiling president. The clink of champagne glasses temporarily drowned out the din of the aircraft's turbojet engines.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Margaret So, Ruccola's envoy to Lamoni, had just arrived at Government AFB in one of her embassy's vehicles. Wearing an emerald green traditional Ruccolian dress, she stepped out of her limousine and walked over to President Stinson. "Congratulations, Mr. President", she beamed, curtsying. "You must be so excited for today!"

Sakura Yamamoto was wearing a red formal kimono as she took her seat in the cathederal. She'd landed her shuttlepod that morning and a car had brought her here.

She could drive a hovercar back home but being on the ground while driving was something she wouldn't chance yet.

She expected to see her old colleague here as well since she was engaged to the Vice President. Captain Uehara as she still thought of her would make a good wife as well.

Glad she didn't have to wear heels she wore the traditional wooden sandals instead to raise her up a few inches. She looked stunning and had already sent on the wedding present. A rice cooker from home but adapted to local power and only taking a fraction of the time.

She was a little suprised when Stinson did not move to kiss her hand, as was proper, but she covered well and shook his hand politely. The corners of her mouth twitched up at his emphasis on the word 'legitimate', sharing his dig at 'President' Dreygo. "It is my pleasure Mr President" she smiled.

Smiling in recognition, she greeted Ambassador Zimmer warmly, inwardly admiring his snappy dress, whilst the two drivers exchanged gossip in the airport's carpark.

Back at the National Cathedral, all of the preparations were in place in order to start the wedding with no delays. The only thing remaining was for President Stinson to return on time and change into a tuxedo. However, this should present no difficulties.

President Harvey and Minister Benson stepped off of the sleek Presidential Jet flanked by their secretaries and a pair of security officers apiece. As they looked about for the vehical they had chartered, George Benson turned to smile at his wife, Emilly. He was especially looking forward to the occasion, for he was, at heart, a romantic, unlike the ever bussiness-like President. Unmarried, he was devoted soley to his work, and his countrymen.

Nonetheless, George Benson was a little nervous. Good relations with Lamoni were critical to Skyland Mt, and the two nations had a history of diplomatic relations which made it a nessissary courtassy for the President to attend the wedding personaly, rather than mearly sending a representative. In particular, he worried about the security they had brought. There hadn't been time to clear armed guards with the Lamonian Government, but to go on an official visit even to an ally without security would be madness. Still, he was gooing to enjoy the wedding. It was all too rarely that he got to leave the offices in Skyland Mt.'s Capitol, and he had not yet had a chance to visit Lamoni.

IC: The Lamonian National Cathedral was packed. Both Lamonian and foreign government officials, their staff, and gaurds occupied every available seat. As a matter of course, one side of the front through fourth rows were designated for the parents and family of both the bride and groom. The father of the bride wasn't at his seat yet; presumably, he was back with his daughter, who he was about to 'give away' to the Lamonian President.

As for President Andrew Stinson, he looked very handsome with a clean shaven face, a very recent haircut done in a style that made him look good, a tuxedo, and a white lei from the nation of McCalister upon Hyssop. Everything was set; all that remained was for the bride to make her entrance, and the wedding could start. Until then, the Lamonian Army Choir was entertaining everyone with Lamonian Patriotic and folk song vocals.

Lucas blushed ever so slightly, returning Ambassador Zimmer's wink. "My thanks Ambassador. As to the batchelors, well, that remains to be seen" she smiled, her face a mask of mock-angelic innocence.

As the representation from Monavia arrived, Lucas waved a greeting to Ambassador Shanks before the party began to make their way to the cathedral.

"Quite well, President Stinson. As for yourself, I wish the best for you and your new wife. What time will the ceremony begin today?"

It did not take too long for Adelaide von Schulenberg, dressed in her wedding dress (http://www.historicbethlehem.org/wp-content/uploads/images/grace-kelly-dress.jpg) and with a male friend at her side, to walk down the aisle while Stinson waited for her at the altar of the cathedral and while her friends and relatives were joyfully looking at her with bright smiles on their faces. Adelaide kept a smile on her face as she walked towards Stinson; she noticed the Corivian guests along with the guests of all the other nations and smiled at them; showing them that she was happy to see them attend. Finally, after a while, she reached the altar and held our her hand to Stinson with the smile still on her face. She nodded to the minister and signified that she was ready to begin.

David Hawdon slipped quietly into the cathedral, well as quietly as any national leader can slip into another national leaders wedding. He gawked at the amazing insides around him. He seemed to just float through the throng of people most he didn't know, he spotted the groom engaged in conversation. He would wonder around looking either for someone he knew or someone who seemed to want to talk.

He wondered how the Neo-Ixanian bride would look in her dress.

When Adelaide walked up the aisle in her wedding dress, Andrew Stinson could feel his breath catch. Even when she had been one of three women vying for his hand in marriage, Adelaide had never looked as beautiful to him as she did right now. He smiled warmly, and the light of love was in his eyes as he gazed upon his love.

When Adelaide's male friend gave her hand to him, he clasped it with his own, and turned towards the minister when she began to do so. With her nod to the minister, the ceremony started.

After clearing his throat, the minister began. "Honored guests, relatives, and friends of the special couple, welcome to the marriage ceremony of Lamonian President Andrew Alan Stinson and Adelaide von Schulenburg. As we are gathered here today, let us focus on the wonders of this blessed union. With this ceremony, the happy couple have decided to spend the rest of their lives with each other, under the oversight of both God and the Law. They will have become as one flesh.

Marriage is one of the blessed sacraments that is observed by all of mankind, though the particulars may be different from place to place and culture to culture. Marriage is more than having a special person to be there for you through both good times and bad; through all of life's journeys. You will both have to work on your marriage relationship as long as you both may live, and be committed solely to your partner, forsaking all others. Let no man tear asunder what God and this couple will join together.

Andrew Alan Stinson, do you have a vow for this joyous occasion?"

Stinson was ready. "I do have a vow. Adelaide, I vow to be the best husband that I can be. I will be patient when needed, and always strive to improve our lives together for as long as I live. I will love only you; and take care of you when you are ill or down."

The minister looked to Adelaide. "Adelaide von Schulenburg, do you have a vow?"

Sakura Yamoto felt herself get emotional seeing this, Captain Kimiko Uehara by her side also wearing a kimono, light green in her case.

She had left her job by now and was a private citizen prior to her marriage to VP Cruz. Nothing could take away her achievements although and would always be remembered as a brave commander of people and as a diplomat.

Zimmer nodded to the Monavian ambassador. "Very well. May I inquire of what Monavian guests will be present? I and my Cultural Attaché will be the only Zaheranians attending".

Eleanor Shanks was growing impatient as the guestds had not yet arrived. They were still ten minutes away from landing at the airfield. Despite the tension, she still was able to get out a few words before she had to eave for the cathedral.

"Mr. Zimmer, the guests are members of Parliament. They come from both houses. King Charles and Queen Elizabeth both send their regards and wish for the best in President Stinson and Ms. von Schulenburg."

After the couple had taken their vows and kissed, and before they make it back to the door, a letter arrived in a silver colored envelope with a gold-dipped rose attached to it. The rice-paper letter read:

Congratulations to President Stinson!

I would personally like to congratulate President Stinson and the bride, Adelaide, for their new marriage! While I regret that I am not there to celebrate with you, please accept my congratulations and your new gifts. Please open the front door and look in the driveway outside.

The minister looked to Adelaide. "Adelaide von Schulenburg, do you have a vow?"

Stinson's vow filled Adelaide with complete happiness and joy; she tried to restrain the tears that she sensed were forming in her eyes and prepared herself to say the vow that she had prepared for this special day. Nodding her head to the minister, Adelaide smiled and began saying her vow to Stinson.

"Andrew, I vow to be a great wife for you. I vow to support you when you need someone to rely on, I vow to cherish you and hold you dear in my heart and I vow to take care of you zealously whenever you are injured or sick. I vow to love you, Andrew, and I forsake all others on this day."

Adelaide smiled at the minister and non-verbally told him that he could continue the ceremony.

Among the dignitaries, ambassadors and other well-wishers for this union, Prince Mikhail IV of Northern Rangeria had remained suspiciously quiet, preferring to watch and listen instead of taking much part in the pre-ceremony formalities. It would be the reception that he looked more forward to. Sitting there in his dress uniform, he was quite the regal site: a 19th-century style cavalry officer's uniform, simple golden epaulets with a blood-red tear motif signifying his rank as the commander-in-chief, and combination of a dress sword and a ceremonial dagger hanging from his belt. Beside him sat the Northern Rangerian ambassador to Lamoni - Lady Mariga Kowisto - and her husband, both in adequately formal wear as they followed the wedding.

There was one more person in the young Prince's (he was only twenty-six) entourage, but he had not taken his place by his liege's side. No, the dark-clad and grey-haired figure of Leo Savajev, the Prince's major domo and closest confidant, remained in the side-aisle, watching the ceremony progress. He was dressed in a full-black suit that resembled more of a soldier's uniform than a servant's livery. Like his master and the ambassadorial couple, he too carried a dagger on his belt.

President Harvey and Minister and Ms Benson sat in the beautiful Cathedral, watching the cerimony continue. George Benson smiled as his wife looked at him and squeezed his hand. He knew she was thinking of their own wedding, over 20 years ago.

President Harvey watched the ceremony quietly, but his mind was elsewhere. He respected President Stinson and wished him well, and of course he valued Lamoni as an ally, but to be honest he would rather not have come. His photographic memory ran over all the work that needed doing from the smaller matters of day-to-day administration to the new proposal for armed forces spending that had arrived on his desk less than an hour before he had flown and was now sitting back on the plane, waiting for his signature.


Major Barnes stood quietly beside Major Hanson, both of them scanning the crowd silently. Weddings were all very well, but lots of windows, large crowds, and a gathering of delegations from so many nations made this a dangerous occasion as well, and it was his job to keep his nation's delegation safe. Nonetheless, he found his mind wandering, his gaze drifting to Lt. Hanson. She had been dating him secretly for over three months, and he had often considered asking her to marry, but he was afraid it would hurt there carreres. Relations between members of Presidential Security were not forbidden, but they were discouraged, given the potential for on the job distraction and... cringing inwardly, Major Barnes jerked his gaze back to the crowd and firmly told himself to keep his mind on the matter at hand.

Andrew was beaming at Adelaide as she made her vow.

When she had finished, the Minister gave Andrew and Adelaide each a lighted white candle. On the altar before the Minister's podium was a bigger, unlit white candle. With the lighted candles given to the couple, the Minister spoke. "The lighted candles in the hands of this special couple represent their former lives, lived by themselves. By lighting the Unity Candle on the altar, they are pledging to each other that they will live only for the other, forsaking all others for the rest of their married lives."

As they had gone through during rehearsals, the couple simultaneously used their lit candles to light the Unity Candle. Then they placed the candles that they had been given into holders on each side of the Unity Candle.

The Minister intoned, "If anyone present has any valid reason why these two should not be wed, they may speak now, or forever hold their peace." There was a wait of perhaps ten seconds in order to be sure that no one would say anything, then the Minister spoke again. "Then by the power vested in my by the Free Republic of Lamoni, I hereby pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

To the expected cheers from the audience, Andrew reached over to his wife, and kissed her most enthusiastically.

When the applause and cheering had ended, the Minister announced that the reception had been set up just outside and to one side of the National Cathedral. Both Andrew and his new bride went to the doors at the back of the Cathedral, ready to thank the family and guests in attendance for coming to the wedding.

Sakura smiled over to Kimiko as the newly weds kissed.

"That'll be you one day Kimi" she said as they both went over to see the happy couple.

" Lauren will you be my Mate for life?" Ben asked her in the traditional Imperial way of asking a woman to marry

"Yes," she said; "Yes, I will!" Lauren didn't know that she was fairly shouting that until several of the people around them were looking at her. This caused her to blush, but she kissed Ben anyway.
