"Good evening comrades, This is Roman Vladimirovich reporting from NN2. At approximately 5 p.m. today armed gunman stormed the Naszran capital building, taking it's occupants hostage. An hour later, the gunman had formed a large sized rebellion in the city, and led an attack on the nearby military base. heavy casualties were reported on both sides. We now go live to Olya Stasenko, who is reporting from the outskirts of Naszran."

[sporadic gunfire and grenade explosions can be heard in the background]
"This is Olya Stasenko reporting, heavy fighting has broken out between the rebel forces and military, with countless civilians caught in the crossfire. The Ministry of Internal Affairs are attempting to close off the city as to not let the rebels retreat into the valley, but as you can see it is causing some problems with civilians. I have just received information that an armored column is going to spearhead a counter offensive into the city supported by artillery and air support."[the cameraman focuses on a church tower collapsing from being hit with multiple RPG rounds, then pans to where the T-80 tanks are massing about 700m away from them]]" We will follow the tanks by moving in with the supporting infantry."

[Roman] "please stay tuned to one of the national news stations for regular updates as we get them."

[continuation from Olya]

"We are now in route to the Ceder District a short distance behind the APC's which appear to not be under heavy fire. it appears the enemy has been suppressed in this neighborhood and the soldiers are dismounting. due to the road conditions we are now going to have to move on foot."

{Infantry squad} "Take no prisoners comrade!"The Officer yells as the soldiers dismount from their BTR-70, they begin to take small arms fire. "Get behind cover! get suppressing fire on their position, over there, by the stairs!" many of the conscripts begin to fire in the general direction of the fire escape of a multiplex. "Advance forward, shoot from behind cover" "enemy down!" "Ahshit, I'm hit!" "enemy sniper!" "Arrow! Arrow! requesting gunship support on these coordinates, E7-49-B!" "Where are the gunships Zanski!?" "they should be inbound any second now" seconds later two Mi-24 Hinds completely level a small apartment building, one of which is then shot down with a portable SAM launcher" An RPG then destroys one of the APC's in the column, killing it's crew and two infantry"

[Olya]
*bullets can be heard ricocheting off nearby buildings and pavement*
"The Motor Rifle group ahead has just run into stiff resistance, and we are cut off from the group by one of our helicopters that was just shot down, one of the crewman survived and is being taken behind the safe zone. Me, Adam and Nikolai are going to try and find another way around." The three cut through a warehouse, which was occupied until recently by the rebels, who left a number of wounded and dead behind in the building[which would later be hit by a stray artillery shell]. "I'm back, we have lost sight of the infantry, and are now near friendly tanks, which are advancing on a position. It appears the rebels have captured some T-55 or 64 tanks along with several BMP from the Army base meaning that it was overrun." *nothing can be heard do to the 125mm main guns from the friendly M-84's and T-90's, along with the captured enemy tanks firing damaging the sound equipment*
[Olya now yelling loudly] "AN ARMOR FIGHT IS TAKING PLACE ACROSS THE STREET, SORRY IF I'M YELLING BUT I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING, NIKOLAI, FILM IT" *the camera shows the battle, several of the enemy tanks are in flames, with 3 disabled and abandoned, while another 3 retreat, and two friendly tanks disabled, another of which needed to be abandoned*
[Olya, still talking rather loudly] "It appears to me that the enemy have to be from a foreign country, since many of the stolen armor didn't hit anything at all. We are going to fall back to the main line for now, as the battle in this neighborhood is getting too intense"

[4:30a.m., most of the city is reduced to rubble, in the early hours a Tu-95 drops leaflets on the city, they read:]

Official Government order: starting at 7 a.m., Naszran will be leveled with heavy artillery and air strikes. any civilians still inside the city have exactly 3 hours to evacuate. anyone still within the city after then will be assumed to be rebel fighters. Designated evac points are located in the eastern city limits at the following locations:
1- Capital Ave. Bridge.
2- Berdan st.
3- Tilmann Airfield
These are the only locations that are authorized to evacuate, and you must go through an MVD scan. They are authorized to detain any suspected fighters. Anyone seen escaping from any other location are left to the mercy of the Federal Forces.

Sitting on the end of his bed with his head in his hands, Nicolas Levanic thought of his wife and children. They had left hours before to see if the school was still open, and none had returned yet. Rising, he strode towards the wardrobe, flinging both doors open and grabbing an old black leather sports bag from the top shelf. He threw clothes and a few bits of medicine into the bag, when a familiar brown box at his feet caught his eye.

Kneeling down, he opened the box, and stared blankly at the sidearm before him. "Hello, old friend," he said as he took the weapon and holstered it within the back of his trousers. "Seems we have need for company again."

Walking to the window, he tugged the curtains slightly so he could see outside. His car had been stolen before his family left him, leaving him without transport. Apart from the empty space where it once sat, the street was empty. Jogging to the bedroom door, he travelled down the stairs. The paint was peeling from the walls and the sound of old boards creaking under him filled his ears. This place could do with a touch up. Turning his kitchen over, he gathered some food and filled an old flask with water. Zipping the bag up, Nicolas threw it over his shoulder and made for the front door.

Opening it a crack, he peered outside again. Still clear.

He made his way down the road. It reminded him of the pictures of areas affected by nuclear fallout. The buildings were showing signs of wear and tear, bullet holes in some places, and the streets were empty. A child's ball rolled across the pavement in front of him. Looking to where it had come from, a gate slammed in the breeze.

He picked up his pace. I need to find my family.

Alex Petrov began to walk quickly down towards the Capital Ave. Bridge evacuation point. He had no family now since his wife and only son had been executed by the rebels for supporting the government. He needed to get out of Naszran before he was killed too. As he ran, the thought of his wife and son filled his mind. He shook it off. "I can grieve after i get out of here." he told himself. He started to run........

It is reported from sources that there were few casualties among the VDV, and that they had inflicted heavy casualties against the rebels, killed a key leader, and effectively stopped their capability to mount any offensive attacks on other cities. Meanwhile, the nationwide curfew has been lifted.

It has been confirmed that the origin of the rebels is the country of Adjikstan. Racoon City

Petran Redak nursed his AK-74, sitting in an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of Raccon City. The fighting in Naszran had been intense, he admits it, but not as intense as it was due to get. It was the opening event, the warm up. Racoon City was seen as safe, not under threat. Soon, that would change.

The first target for him and his brothers was a small helicopter base in the north of the city. There, they would group and strike into the city, and towards an air Base ten miles to the east. At their disposal, they had a wide variety of weaponns, ranging from light artillery pieces to BMP's. It had all been massed in secret in the forests around the city. Contacts in Agroprom, right across the border, had provided some high tech weaponary as well.

His motives were wide and varied. Mainly, he just wanted combat - that taste, that rush. He would go with the rebels to the end - everyone had different reasons for fighting, but a common goal - anarchy in Racoon City. It would start that night - Chechnya in Russia would be on a minor scale compared to this.

-From the Raccoon Times newspaper, rumor column

"Secret Military base in Raccoon?

Speculators suggest that the government may have set up a base somewhere in the forest or Arklay Mountains. Lately, hikers have seen what seem like tank tracks. While I could not get contact with internal sources, I don't believe the rumors that it is rebel activity, perhaps it's just a farmer driving his tractor?"

Racoon City, 0530 Hours

And so it began. The sun was just beginning to rise when the sound of light artillery guns and mortars cracked through the forest. Birds flew from the nearby trees and dew dripped from the branches as the ground shook. The sound of tanks rumbled through the forest, and armed men ran over the moist early morning ground. The first target was an airbase a not far outside the forest.

At the base itself, two large groups of rebels had amassed in the night, along with some BTR's and BMP's. The first artillery shots fell on the base, lighting up the morning. The attack was planned as accurately as could be done with the lightly trained rebels. As the artillery rounds fell on the base, the tanks opened up on the defenses and buildings of the base itself, and some infantary machine guns provided covering fire.

http://www.ruvr.ru/files/Image/RUSSIA/chechnya/Chechen_fighters.jpg
Rebel Troops

As they did, around a hundred rebel troops rushed out of the forest towards the base. It should be taken within minutes - more vehicles and rebels were on their way to an airbase further east, which would be a tougher nut to crack.

Racoon City Sewers, 0530 Hours

A full company of rebel troops had been hiding out in the sewers since the night before, trying to avoid all contact with the local populace and police forces. Finally, after 14 hours underground, a runner arrived telling them it was time to begin the attack. They were right under the city hall and police station, their first targets.

Simultaneously, they popped up from manhole covers and service buildings all over a two block radius, terrifying passers by. And so, the assault began. They tossed grenades and tear gas in the upper windows of the city hall and police stations, and rushed the lower levels. The guards, to be honest, stood no chance. Automatic weapons cut the early morning silence, and the grenade blasts could be heard all over the city.

And so, it began.

As Nicolas Levanic approached his childrens' school, he began to fear the worst. Smoke rose from the building as flames began to engulf the west side of the building, and he could just make out a few rebel soldiers turning a corner. Pulling his pistol from his waistline, he crouched slightly and jogged to the door that took him past reception. His years in the army and soon after the police force, had given him all the training he needed for this situation. If only I had a better weapon.

Pulling the door open and swinging himself inside he scanned the room. Clear. Pulling the door closed, he proceeded down the corridor, as an image of his family flashed into his mind. It had been a holiday to his father's house in the north of the country, and his brother had come into possession of a camera. Keen to try it out, he had taken a picture of Nicolas, his wife Andrea, and his children, one of whom was a newborn at the time, all positioned around a tatty armchair. Approaching the corner, he slid up against the wall, and leaned forward far enough to see around the corner. Making their way down the corridor were three rebel soldiers. Run. Just run!

He was frozen to the spot, and could feel the adrenaline burst his bloodstream. Automatically his pistol rose to beside his ear ready to spring from around the corner and take the three men. He was breathing heavily, a cold sweat developing.

Heavy fighting breaks out in Raccoon City

http://news.bbc.co.uk/olmedia/670000/images/_670107_grozny150.jpg

Early this morning rebel forces seized city hall and the adjacent police station in what is believed to be an attempted coup. Due to the early hour in which the initial attacks took place, many Police Officers were not at the police station at the time which made it relatively easy for the rebels to seize the station. It is believed that they have light armor and artillery pieces at their disposal because of the amount of destruction in parts of the city. The Government has initiated martial law, closed the borders and fully mobilized several Guards Divisions and Special Forces to combat the rebels. It is advised that anyone in the settlements around Raccoon evacuate immediately.

Fighting intensifies in Raccoon City

http://img.timeinc.net/time/daily/special/photo/grozny/2.jpg

Despite heavy fighting within the city, the surge of violence continues to escalate. It has been estimated at least 800 servicemen have been killed so far, and the current number of civilians killed is unknown at this time, but is thought to be in the thousands. Many civil rights groups are furious at the international community for its apathy of the Army's complete disregard of human life thus far. One group claims a group of tanks deliberately open fired upon a school, although no one has been able to verify this. All of the groups wish to have foreign nations condemn Chernobyl-Pripyat for it's actions, and seek attention from the government itself, which hasn't been available for contact.

Parts of city under military control

http://www.mipt.vcu.edu/img/grozny-2000-2.jpg

After weeks of heavy fighting, which has left at least 6 thousand dead, the military now has control over the eastern areas of the city. The rebels are still in control over key facilities, such as the power plant, water facility and the hospital. It is believed that some citizens of Raccoon have joined up with the rebels because of the seemingly infinite number of combatants.

Civil Rights groups are enraged over the lack of action by the international community in helping the people of Raccoon. "The city was once a wonderful place with a population of 100,000+. Now there are few buildings that reach higher then six floors, no running water or electricity, and bodies litter the streets. Does no one care if civilians are hopelessly caught in the cross fire?" said a former resident of Raccoon City, who was out of town at the time the war broke out. He had lost his entire family since then.

President Kotenko recently said that military action will continue in the region, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs is authorized to detain anyone suspected of supporting the rebels.

Heavy fighting still continues in Raccoon

http://img382.imageshack.us/img382/4020/1204715081839yk9.jpg

The small industrial city of Raccoon has been the site of major conflict the past few months. Because of the style of combat taking place, most of the city is in ruin. Due to the general quarantine of the city the rebels have not been able to get supplies. Unfortunately, the same goes for the people still trapped in the Raccoon. Lately the volume of enemy fire had decreased to a large degree, and the military has been able to advance into areas previously covered by heavy fire. The central of the city has become a major strong point for the rebels, and the military was authorized to use chemical agents to weaken the rebels number. This would, however, kill anyone still trapped in that part of the city.

The plant is able to power Pripyat, Chernobyl, Slavutych and Kiev without interruption. For outlying cities, new substations are bieng constructed, along with new high tension wires.

During the early rush hour traffic, approximately 5 car bombs were detonated, killing at least 20 people, and injuring over 100. The attacks appear to be in retaliation for the gassing of parts of Raccoon, however this has not yet been confirmed. The suspects are believed to be a radical civil rights group, who are enraged that nothing is being done about the military's handling of Raccoon and the Naszran conflict a few months ago. The MVD has been detaining suspected members of the group, along with suspected supporters of the rebels forces.

Explosion at the Chelyabinsk NPP

Late last night there was a ground shaking explosion at the Chelyabinsk Atomic Power Station, believed to have happened at the damaged reactor. Because the city is abandoned, there were no known casualties in the immediate area. The Government has set up a commission, and has insisted that safety measures have been set up. The blast is believed to have been caused by an accident, as researchers were present at the time, to study the effects of the 1994 accident. The incident then, had caused the creation of the Zone, and has since created an ecological disaster resulting in abnormal conditions within the 45km area surrounding the plant, which has been slowly expanding since. This story will be updated, as the Government releases information.

Update on the Chelyabinsk blast

New information permits us to report that the blast was indeed man made. A research team was present at the time, and was conducting an experiment involving the remaining reactors. It is thought that around the same time a class 4 blowout had occurred, according to military intelligence. It has just been confirmed that the blast had damaged the sarcophagus around Reactor 4, and large amounts of radioactive material was released into the air alongside a fire. Citizens residing in the smaller villages close to the zone should report to the local fallout shelters for the time being, residents of Triste should remain indoors until further notice. Currently many fire fighting teams are to report on sight to extinguish the flames, and to contain the incident. The military cordon will be strictly enforced for the time being.

GRU Report

From: Maj. Volkova
To: Sgt. Kitsenko, Ministry of Internal Affairs [Ministerstvo Vnutrennikh Del - MVD]
Re: Investigation

Following the blast and subsequent blaze, the area became extremely unstable, and fire suppression crews were forced to evacuate the area. Following that, massive blowouts have been occurring on a daily basis, and citizens in the surrounding areas were evacuated. Shortly after, the Military's GHQ was also evacuated, via the underground rail system. Currently the radiation levels and anomalous activity have decreased, and I would like your department to investigate the area. There was a previous MVD investigation, alongside a military operation, but we haven't heard from them since. It's likely that they have deceased, so the following are your objectives:

Arrive at Chelyabinsk, check for signs of the team
Locate Dr. Krugelov's data
Reach the old Military base, contact HQ fo further instructions

It's likely that the team was somewhere near the power station, so that may be the first place to look. There may be hostile forces, as foreign military choppers we spotted on radar during the last blowout, so stay alert. If you can confirm foreign presence before you arrive at the base, you are to enter the underground facility and secure sensitive documents. Your boss will provide you with a decoder to bypass the fail safe.

Sgt. Kitsenko looked over the report from a high ranking official in the Army's Intelligence Division. He didn't quite understand why he, of all people, got this assignment. "I guess that's fate then, eh? Better grab some others to help, I've heard some fucked up stories about that place.. I've also had the nightmares. Anyone who's been remotely close to the place gets them. It has to have something to do with those antenna.. some kind of emissions." he thought to himself. Upon arriving on the 6th floor of the MVD building in Pripyat, Kitsenko gathered 4 other members. Afterwards, they dropped in at the armory to gather weapons; the standard PYa handgun, and AKS-74U's. They were provided with a modified ZIL-131 truck, with a NBC-protected rear area.

After Action Report

From: Sgt. Ilya Kitsenko, Ministry of Internal Affairs

Re:Re: Investigation

We arrived at the abandoned outer military cordon at around 3 P.M.. The gate was left open, and there were signs that it had been abandoned in a hurry, mostly food was left there along with personal artifacts. By 5:30 P.M., we were at the inner cordon at the city. We were able to confirm the foreign military chopper, a UH-60 "Black Hawk", and Pvt. Novokin examined the crash sight. Most of the equipment was still there, along with the body of one of the pilots. Shortly before his death, he had wrote in his PDA the cause of the crash, and the extent of his injuries and that the other operatives left him here to guard their stuff. He details the event that brought down all three choppers, which was a massive blowout that called for the evacuation of the cordons and surrounding area. The pilot had died of internal injuries, but the area seemed suspicious. There were shell casings all around him, and an empty assault rifle by his side. Novokin had found documents inside the deceased man's body armor, detailing their operation. Adding this up, along with several other documents found in the chopper, we had concluded that they were Mercenaries, operating in 3 separate teams. His team was assigned to clear out the basements of an abandoned secret laboratory, known as "X-18". We then advanced on the old Hospital to find Dr. Krugelov's documents, where at the Hospital we ran into the Mercs. A short exchange of gunfire ensued, with no injures on either side. We entered the hospital, and ran into the operation commander. He explained that it was Dr. Krugelov who hired them to escort him out of the country, presumably with his research. He had apparently failed to inform the mercs about the blowouts, and the emissions from the complex not too far from the old power plant. He had suspected it had something to do with the doctor's experiments, and that they had taken effect on the 3rd team that had gone to disable it. The helicopter had crashed right into the building, and had caused the machine to shut off temporarily. Most of the wounded soldiers in there had various metal objects wrapped around their heads, as it was the only way to sleep without the emissions messing with your thoughts. Our gas masks protected us from these emissions [the Military designed them for operations in areas such as this, along for protections against warfare involving psi-emissions]. Lt. Stovskaya, the medical officer I had brought along, examined the wounds of the wounded. She had said they had looked like claw and bite marks from some animal.

We were unable to reach radio contact with the HQ, so we continued with our orders. We had arrived at the old power plant, with the Geiger counter going off the scale. We went around back, as radiation levels permitted, and saw the recently constructed facility. The remains of the first team were found here; they had deid when their helicopter apparently was slammed into the ground, probably from an anomaly. We used the provided decoder on the electronic door and entered the facility. A heavy door had gone down in the hallway that lead to the emission center, probably related to the fire. This place was the lab known as "X-16". There supposedly are 20 different facilities such as this scattered around the country. X-16 was abandoned years ago, judging by the condition it was in. The path to the underground emergency rail was open, and we had found a dead scientist here. Something gave me th chills right there, as the E-trains do not stop. We had continued through the tunnel, with the red tunnel lights blinking on and off occasionally. This is where things got weird. We must have moved through there for what seemed like hours, and came across an auxiliary door for X-18. It was a standard water tight door, and was halfway unlocked. We proceeded into the lower areas of the facility, near an underground river. Stovskaya alerted us to a type of refuse chute. Apparently this is where they would dump failed experiments and dead bodies. at the foot of it, there were a number of bones, some of which couldn't have been human. Novokin began acting strange suddenly, mumbling incoherently, then dropped his gun and curled up in a ball in the corner. Stovskaya and Denitkov stayed wit him, leaving me and Petrovski to explore the area up the ladder. The actual labs were a mess. We found the operation room, following the blood stains on the ground. The room had these large glass tanks, with some kind of creatures floating in them. That's when it happened. This thing, which I can describe as a large dog-like thing with razor sharp claws, ran into the room. Petrovski and I began to fire on it, but before it died it stabbed Petrovski. His wound wouldn't stop bleeding, despite the coagulant drugs. he died within minutes, and I shot up the rest of the tanks. Only one of the creatures in the tanks had a slight resemblance to a human, which woke as my bullets ripped through the tank and wounded it. I must have passed out right there, because i don't remember too well what happened then. When I came to, Dr. Kruglov was in the room examining the dying humanoid. He began saying that it was an experiment to improve the human species, both physically and mentally. He continued, explaining how the thing had an increased brain size and capacity, with extra senses and how that it knew that I was going to shoot the tanks. The reason I had passed out, was because it had telepathically struck me with some unknown force. Krugelov explained what the dog thing was, and that the experiments didn't fare to well on other animals. He had locked himself in the security room for the past 2 weeks, alongside a few guards and researchers. The humanoid that was in the tank, apparently could control people by overriding their brain, turning them into some kind of zombie. It work the same way as the Psi-Emitter, as he called it. It was a prototype area denial system, put in use to keep looters away from the city. The reason I didn't turn, was that as it was trying to do that, I had shot it multiple times, severely wounding it. Since it was awake, those tanks filled with some odd liquid hadn't been drained and it panicked. Over the past few days, the dog thing had killed off the rest of the survivors, and the upper floors were flooded with zombies because of the thing in the tank. He had said that the government, in its current dying state would shut down his lab, among other things. He then walked over to a dead security person and took his handgun. He then aimed at me, and tried to fire but the gun was jammed. He had taken my AKSU and had put it somewhere, but failed to take my hand gun, so I was forced to shoot him. I took Petrovski's dogtags, and searched for the data. It was on a flashdrive that Krugelov had hid cleverly inside a vending machine, expecting a special forces team to liquidate the place soon. Once I found my gun, I went back to the tunnel. Novokin had zombified, and shot at Denitkov and Stovskaya, wounding Denitkov mortally.

Denitkov died before we could help him, so Stovskaya and I went to the security room to use the comm. room equipment. We had learned that the Army was conducting an air assault on the area, because of the number of zombies that needed to be killed. A Merc team had cleared the upper floors of the zombies, and was looking the the radio room. Unlike the last team, these guys would definitely be hostile, since several of there guys were killed by a gunship. We shot them as they came down the staircase, killing at least 18 of them before they stopped coming. We had reached the top floor, where the last few mercs had a last stand, killing Stovskaya, and wounding me. shortly after, a Hind-V was circling around, and a radioed it for evac. We had retrieved Stovskaya's and Petrovski's bodies, but the others were too deep inside the facility to get.

Well there you have it, that's what happened down there. The emission facility was destroyed during the raid, and the labs were sealed off until a proper team can be assembled. there were several floors we didn't check out, and we couldn't find the GHQ. It's likely that the mercs had the same luck.

Civil unrest in capital

As of lately, the people have been increasingly disatisfied with the Government, and there have been daily protests at the Kremlin. Earlier today, OMON units were called in to disperse a crowd, using rubber bullets and gas. At least 30 people were arrested on site, and more were to follow.

In a related incident, Another protest turned violent in the city of Naszran, and OMON units responded with a T-72 tank to disperse the crowd. It had fired several blank shells in the direction, and smashed through a makeshift roadblock. a further 60 people were arrested. The MVD Cheif, along with Premier Simonov could not be reached for comment.

Siege in Chernobyl
11/10/2015, 16:00

"Just hours ago, elements of the military and members of the Volya faction advanced on the capital building, completely surrounding it."

Footage of several soldiers and militiamen standing near a T-72BM1, which has it's main gun concentrated at a window. The hatches are open, with the commander talking to the soldiers near by.

"It is confirmed that they have several armored vehicles on sight. We now turn to reporter Nikolai Dygalo, who is at the scene."

The report then switches to a middle aged man in winter clothing standing under a street light.

"I am reporting from a parking lot near the capital, where as you can see the standoff has been going on for several hours. The Ministry of Internal Affairs had shown up a few minutes ago and had a chat with the rouge military unit's commander, then left. I had attempted to interview some of the soldiers outside, but they had no comment."

Suddenly, a loud report from one of the tanks is heard. The tank commander had ordered a blank shell be fired, and through a loud speaker told the members of parliament to vacate the building with their hands up, or the next shot would be a live one.

The reporter then talks to the people assigned to anchor duty

"As you've likely heard, they fired into the building with a blank shell. I will try to get the full story from one of the soldiers or militiamen, get back to you later."

It switches back to the news team

"We will provide constant updates on this story as new information becomes available. And now, the weather.

Tonight it looks like more snow, with severe temperatures in the north. For tomorrow, it could be a real hobo-killer outside.."

Siege in Chernobyl continues for a second day
11/11/2015, 7:00

"Today marks the second day of a standoff between parliament and paramilitary forces, with little progress made in negotiations. Based on interviews with the head of the MVD, we can confirm that there is currently no leadership at the present. Overnight there was a brief exchange of small arms fire, and negotiations came to a halt. The MVD has set up a perimeter of the area, and appear to be acting at their discretion.

The decision came to this, when parliament had unilaterally decided it would hand over power to an unknown foreign Government, and would attempt to flee the country. The KGB had been monitoring the parliament members for some time, and dispatched Military forces to stop them."

----------

Growing tired of the situation at hand, the KGB had given the order to storm the building. They knew of the consequences; this would effectively end the Socialist government in Chernobyl-Pripyat, and would cause chaos nationwide. As a precaution, OMON units had been deployed in major cities, enacting a strict curfew.

At exactly noon, after the MVD SOBR units arrived and had looked over the operation plan, they wold get to work. There were exactly 28 members of parliament inside out of a total of 130. Most had resigned prior to this incident, and 2 were killed overnight in the exchange of fire. There wouldn't likely be security guards, since they were under orders from the MVD now.

They set small amounts of Semtex on the side exterior doors, on the first floor parking garage and on the 3rd floor fire exit. the front door was heavily barricaded, so it was out of the question.

Once the tanks outside fired HE-Frag shells into the building, the Semtex was detonated, and the SOBR teams moved in. Several armed members of the parliament had began shooting at the commandos as they moved up a stairwell, but hadn't caused any major injuries. They were all quickly shot down. The center floors were heavily damaged from the tank shells, and had killed several of the traitors, and severly wounded the rest.

The operation only lasted 15 minutes, with most of the members of parliament being arrested to be dealt with later, while 17 of them had been killed in the storming of the building.

Business reforms allow foreign companies in, new job opportunities

Following the recent shift of power, President Kotenko had announced that foreign companies may now open divisions in country, in attempt to restart the economy. Almost immediately, they had received a message from the Umbrella Corporation, who applied to open 3 new facilities and occupy a former state owned research institute in Chelyabinsk. After receiving approval, they almost immediately arrived and began construction of the new facilities, and said they will cover all costs to clean Chelyabinsk of radiation and reopening the institute. Thier only request for that, was to restart the Chelyabinsk Atomic Energy Station, once the area was cleaned.

Construction begins of the following;

-Head Quaters SRCP Division, Chernobyl

-Umbrella Training Facility, outskirts of Veblensk

-Port facility in the Ceres Sea

They had also announced that they will build a Hydro-Electric dam in Raccoon, and develop the outskirts of town.

Rearmament Program finalized-

Yesterday a budget was granted to the Military aimed a purchasing new equipment and updating existing systems. Among the things stated to to be purchased was a new ammunition for the Kalashnikov series of rifles, designated 7N24, which while has been manufactured in small quantities will now be the standard cartridge due to the proliferation of "heavy" body armor. The recently standardized Kalashnikov 10x series[74M,105] will replace older AKS-74 and AKS-74U rifles in front and second line service, with the older rifles used for training purposes, stored or sold on the civilian market. Infantry will now receive paratrooper's boots, with the old Jackboot now out of service.

Currently Military R&D is developing an updated body armor system, rumored to have to be completely superior to the PSZ-9B currently fielded. The development of a domestic Main Battle Tank, which is stated to enter pre-production early next year is planned to replace all T-90A and T-72/80 series tanks in front line service by 2023.

New Missile Defense System planned for 2020?

http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/2425/medgallery673450213zo8.jpg

Today it was announced that a "Planetary Debris Defense" weapon was under construction, after being approved by the Troika. Intended to deal with large scale asteroids, it is capable of taking down ICBM's before they begin re-entry. While this benefits many in the region, some have strongly opposed it due to it's capability as a airspace denial weapon, with it's range covering almost all of the continent. Heavy criticism was taken lightly, however and the plan remains unchanged for it's completion.

Some skeptics suggest it was really finalized due to the USGA's plan for the controversial "Freedom Star", which would allow them to place a fighting force anywhere on the globe within 90 minutes. While both countries have an allied status, it was still perceived as a possible threat and Premier Kotenko was very vocal about it.
