The Government’s Decision
Today hundreds of homes were raided in an attempt for the Government to get rid of an element of the nation that they feel is a bigger threat to the national security of this nation than anyone else. The being called ‘furries’ have been deemed a Level 2 Security Threat. In a News Conference today in the Executive Offices of the Parliamentary Building, the Speaker of the House of the Senate stated that this decision was not made lightly.
“The reason for this is due to the recent threats of the Ryou Black Islands in their quest to expand their empire even further and their ability to influence the furry population of the world with their free rights for them.”
The Shazbotdom Empire does give some rights to Furries, but they do not have the right to vote in elections as they are not seen as a species that can make up more of the population of the Shazbotdom Empire.
“We should not take these threats from the Ryou Black Islands seriously, but to ensure the safety and stability of the Shazbotdom Empire, these beings called ‘Furries’ must be taken care of,” said the Minister of the Military, Grand Admiral James E. Rockenbach. He further stated “that these ‘furries’ are to be arrested, tried as spies from Ryou, and then executed in an orderly fashion.”
When asked about international backlash about executing the ‘furries’, Supreme Emperor Larry Williams stated, “The International Community has no say in the internal happenings of the Shazbotdom Empire. As a member nation of the World Alliance, there is no Resolution on the books that explicitly talks about the type of situation that is happening within the Shazbotdom Empire.”
Public Response
Here at Shazbotdom News Network, we were wondering what the publics response would be to this latest decision made by the newly reformed Shazbotdom Imperial Parliament. So we took to the streets and called people to get their opinion. The responses we received were split about the arrest and execution of the ‘furries’ within the Shazbotdom Empire.
“Why should we worry about this?” Asked one concerned citizen in the Colony of Alraibris. “The matter is that this nation, Ryou, is not a threat to us. Why should we punish these creatures for something that another nation has done?”
“I say burn them all,” another citizen replied from the Colony of Halnara. “They are worthless to the world economy and should be wiped out.”
“This isn’t a matter for the Imperial Government to Decide,” says a citizen from the Mainland. “It should be up to the individual Colonies to decide of these ‘creatures’ are banned from those lands or not.”
With the opinions of the people of the Shazbotdom Empire split in this manner, it is hard to speculate what type of backlash will occur between the Empire, the International Community and the Citizens of the Empire.
