A Conference at Sea (Closed ATTN: Canaery)

Greston

A war was brewing and the Mediterranica was on the brink of it, ready to throw fists with Havenic unknowns. The pressure of battle to come and strung out but it was still there. The ultimatum had caused many issues and changed almost everything, especially the way Greston went about adding to her Empire. But slowly, during that time period, Greston had become a Commonwealth and no longer an Empire. Two new members had become apart of it already in peaceful agreements and now it was time for a third.

5,000 kilometers South lay the newly founded nation, Canaery, who was already wrapped in Grestonian Politics with the Faurea dispute and others. She was a proud nation and was bound to grow to be a strong one and at the lead of it was Crown Prince Ryan St. Claire, a 22 year old monarch.

At the lead of the Empire was President John Steven Batther, a Lt. Col. of the Imperial Grestonian Army. He was 31, much older then the Canaerian Leader. He was a suitor in the Ixanian Empire and his next highest was John Gutted, the Head Premier and the Prime Minister of Alogorthia. That left the old men of the Prime Minister Council. They were the section below the Cabinet and were like Roman Tribunes, they had the power to veto ideas made by the Cabinet if found to be not in favor of the rest of Greston. At their head was David Loyd Geroge, a rich, fat man.

And that rich fat man found him self 3,000 kilometers south of Greston, only 2,000 away from Canaery, in the middle of the Aliquantian Sea. It was an envoy of Irondeck battle ships, unarmed to show that it truly was a peaceful mission they were embarked on. All of the officers had their Parade Uniforms on and 70 Electorial Office Guards were on the head battleship, GNMS Gutted, with David. The flag was hung from every place possible. The boasting of the flag was not the only change to the retired battleship, the Admirals Courters was turned into a giant Study decorated in a Victorian Age fashion, it was the size of two of the regular Admiral's Courters as the ships was altered slightly to accomadate it's new line of service.

They stopped their voyage and waited for the Naval Envoy from Canaery to meet them and then have their Crown Prince Ryan St. Claire come aboard the Gutted and meet Sir David Loyd Geroge.

The Crown Prince Ryan St. Claire had woken up that morning, ready to broker a deal with one of the larger Med nations in order for his new soveriegnty to grow. He was eager to meet Sir George. He got in his limo. The driver asked, "Where to sir?" "To the port, I am expecting an arrival soon from Greston." So he rode to the port in a special entrance because he was the Prince.

The crew sat in silence on the deck of the Gutted. Two Victorian Age Style mahagony chairs where set on the deck and diplomats, guards, and the colour guard remained in their stations. The Colour Guard had flags of the MU, Canaery, Greston and the Grestonian Empire Flag. David Geroge sat in one of the chairs and second was empty for soon the Crown Prince would occupy it.

From behind Sir Geroge came Admiral Adam Jerlinger, dressed in a white parade uniform, holding a white envelope. The Admiral passed down the message and as he handed him it he answered the question on Geroge's mind.

"The Crown Prince is in the port, ready to be shipped over. Should we relay a message?"

"Very well, have him come, we can pick him up off of his ship then have our meeting on this grand vessel."

"Very well."

The Admiral saluted a left. David stood and fixed his tie as he began to pace. A message was sent to the port telling the Prince to come to the convoy.

Prince Ryan had recieved the message from Sir Geroge and went with the Grestonian escorts to the larger vessel. He was then escorted to the room where Sir Geroge was sitting. He shook his hand smiled and said, "Good to see you friend. May our glorious nations thrive from what we undertake today. I know it will be needed in these troubled times, what with Faurea and other Crises."

David Geroge stood up out of the chair he was sitting upon that was set on the deck. He stood with respect and shook the man's hand. He gestured for the man to sit and once he did Geroge did the same. David let out a huge grin going from ear to ear and he began to talk in a rough voice, exuasted from screaming commands in recent years when he served his term in the military.

"Very well Crown Prince St. Claire, very good day to hold of conference of these likes be it not? Now I believe you already know of why this coference was called upon you, it is about the Grestonian Interests in which we are expanding and aiding younger nations that join in our ranks. You will notice now sir upon where you sit. You sit upon a great battleship that has seen the likes of war in Mediterranican type climates to battles in climates of those of Antartica. Now think of where this ship lays, it remains midpoint in the Aliquantian Sea which is what spreads our two nations apart. This sea is just about 5,000 kilometers long so there is no exact middle except for at 2,500 kms but we chose not to rest there. We are at 3,000 kms, we went 3,000 kms and you only had to go 2,000. We took an extra time and went out of our way for your nation. Now the reason we did that is because that us what being a member of the Grestonian Empire is like. We will do more for you but you must give a little in return. Now Canaery becoming a protectorate is what I come here for."

The Prince was duly impressed. After he had listened to Sir Geroge, he replied, "We are most honoured to be a part of this glorious union. We will do our part to make the Mediterranican peaceful again. Now, on the interest of my people, I must know how the new government here will be organized and what my role is. I know I am young, but I know that a good leader serves his nation."

Sir Geroge smiled again and chuckled in a litte.

"Ahhhh, glad you came to a good decision. Well dear sir, You would remain as leader of your nation only in the form of a constitutional monarchy in which a Grestonian politician would be the Prime Minister. In this case that would be me. It would be like having two presidents.

Greston holds liberty and freedom near and dear so seeing that if you don't have on already, a parliament shall be established in which six Grestonian Parliamentarians will be in it and the other 294 will be of yours. The Prime Minister will also serve as the head of the Parliament."

David took out a folded paper and unraveled it. It was the design of a Parliament building. Sir Geroge pointed at it and began talking again, "This will be the design. On the note of the Parliament you will affect Grestonian Parliament. You will get one seat in the Federal Congressional Parliament for every 10 million people in your nation. For ever 100 million people you get one seat in the Federal Parliament in Easen. I hope this takes your liking sir."

"It seems good enough" replied Crown Prince Ryan. "Parliament wil be nice for a change, to give the people a little more democracy. Now, what are the division of powers in this new government? And wil the Greston Prime Minister belong to a party of Greston or what?"
