The Dominion of Kardhes
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b184/Upum/Death_Before_Dishonor_7_by_sauronmr.jpg
Few amongst the tiers of angels and demons will have not heard of that mighty people of Kardhes, for they have strived unto their ends like no other people before them in the history of the living universe. No others have reached as far and received so little before finally reaching the stars. First a kingdom, then an empire, and finally with the acceptance of the stars, a dominion: that is Kardhes.
I introduce to you, my dear readers, the grand nation of which I am but a humble servant. Kardhes! Once but a pitiful backwards kingdom upon a planet festering with corruption and ignorance, a slave to larger powers that be, but soon it became much more. Refusing to be denied its destiny the people of ancient Kardhes rose as one and defeated those that would have kept her back. From those ancient ties an empire was forged, slowly by inexorably across the face of the planet to become an empire that no star’s light could ever set upon
But then a dream arose, not long ago, for more. While the planet was under the authority of the Lord Protectors of Kardhes, as it should be, why not further its boundaries even more? Why be denied the open territory and vastness that was space? And as such the great people of Kardhes rose once again, but this time in a united dream to explore and conquer the last great frontier: space. And thus with the ascension of its people into the stars, the empire that once was has become the great Dominion, the worlds of Kardhes and the people that breathe easy due to the ever watchful vigilance of the Lord Protector and his loyal soldiers.
That my friends, is where our story begins, in a time of the reign of the one-hundredth and forty-fifth Lord Protector; when the edges of the Kardhes System have become to be too small and so once more a people reach out to gain more glory and lands upon which to thrive and live for Kardhes.

Political System
The Dominion of Kardhes is ruled by the Lord Protector, a man who receives his position by inheriting it from a previous member of his family who was the then Lord Protector. This dynastic rule has existed for more than 1,200 years since ancient times within the time-line of Kardhes. The Lord Protector rules from his capitol on Planet Braxus, the largest center of population for the Kardhesian people.
Under the Lord Protector is the Advisory Council, a group of eight civil servants who help the Lord Protector to manage the Dominion from day-to-day and make sure that its faculties are in proper order. If ever the Lord Protector is ill or unable to rule until a successor is chosen, then the Head Councilman of the Advisory Council is thereby made Regent.
Under the Advisory Council are the Planetorial Governors Council, a group of individuals with no set number to their group as the boundaries of the Dominion grow ever more, who each rule over a planet under the authority of the Lord Protector and the Advisory Council. They can be from the common populace, though more than a few are from the aristocracy with ties to the Lord Protector by blood.
Beneath these three tiers of government is a morass of bureaucracy, known as the Arbitrary Administration. It is the A.A. which manages most civil affairs under the authority of the Advisory Council and the Planetorial Governors. To them belong the recruitment and provision of the Planetary Defense Forces, policemen in all but name, as well as other civil servant organizations. All healthcare and mass transport businesses derive their authority through the A.A.
Military
The Kardhesian Military is split into two major divisions: the Solar Fleet and the Protector’s Army. Each has its own organization and ranking system that is variably adaptable from one to the other, and both have their own system of supply and recruitment so neither is given more funding or support than the other; so as to reduce competition between branches and to keep officers of high rank from getting too many thoughts about rebellion or coup de’tat.
Solar Fleet
The Solar Fleet is the most recent addition to the Kardhesian Military as the Dominion has only begun exploring and conquering space for the last 200 years. However its members and officers are of the best quality and serve with a distinction that they pride themselves upon. The Solar Fleet has three main branches: the Fleet Mobile Suit Corp, the Fleet Personnel Corp, and the Fleet Marine Corp. The Solar Fleet has no authority over the Protector’s Army.
Fleet Mobile Suit Corp
The Fleet Mobile Suit Corp is the branch of fleet service of mobile suit pilots who operate space-type mobile suits. They are trained for one-on-one, group, and mass combat techniques and tactical systems. While never expected to, they are given rudimentary training for ground mobile suit combat. The fleet mobile suit pilots are considered the elite, as their training is some the harshest in the entire Solar Fleet and only one in one hundred applicants are chosen for the training schools.
Fleet Personnel Corp
The Fleet Personnel Corp is the largest branch in the Solar Fleet. It is here that resides the numberless technicians, communication specialists, surveyors, weapon ensigns, star fighter pilots, and Fleet officers. It is under the authority of FPC that both the Fleet Mobile Suit Corp and the Fleet Marine Corp operate.
Fleet Marine Corp
The police and boarding action combat personnel are the ones who make up the Fleet Marine Corp. The Fleet Marines are highly trained individuals who are equipped with strong armour and weaponry to allow them to both enact ship-boarding actions, and repel enemy boarders. It is the Fleet Marines that are responsible for the security of Fleet stations and territory.
Protector’s Army
The Protector’s Army is the most ancient of the military services that have ever served the Dominion. They have existed in several different forms, but always under the same name and symbol, since the beginning of the rule of the Lord Protectors, and it is to them that the Dominion owes a great amount of its respect and loyalty as it has served with a distinction and status that has made it legendary. The Protector’s Army has three branches: the Army Mobile Suit Corp, the Auto-Arms Corp, and the Protector’s Own. The Protector’s Army has no authority over the Solar Fleet.
Army Mobile Suit Corp
Like their counterparts in the Solar Fleet, the members of the Army Mobile Suit Corp are the pilots of ground-type combat mobile suits. They are trained for one-on-one, group, and mass combat techniques and tactical systems; as well as advanced strategic operations. While never expected to, they are given rudimentary training for space mobile suit combat. Also like their Fleet counterparts, they are considered some of the elite within the Protectors Army, though this is highly debated amongst the P.A.
Auto-Arms Corp
The Auto-Arms Corp has existed for several hundred years and was the precursor to the Army Mobile Suit Corp. Its members operate small armored body carriers called ‘Auto-Arms’ that allow a single soldier to have the firepower of a fully laden combat platoon, and keep him as well protected as a tank. In situations where a mobile suit is uncalled for or terrain keeps them from being deployed, the Auto-Arms Corp come in handy. They are specifically trained for urban combat and combat in broken/mountainous terrain.
Protector’s Own
This branch of the Protector’s Army is the oldest branch, reaching nearly back to the Protector’s Army founding. It is under this branch that the Army Mobile Suit Corp and Auto-Arms Corp operate. In this branch you find regular infantrymen, who bear the distinction and honour of being called the Protector’s Guard. They are infantrymen of the highest standard and quality. Also within this branch exist the supply and support men who help to grease the wheels of all the other branches within the P.A.

He is also a natural born leader. Besides their usual devotion to the Lord Protector, Treize has garnered a deep and strong affection from the troops and soldiers of the Kardhesian Military, who hold an almost fanatical faith in him. Treize himself went through the Officer Training School in his youth and is a skilled tactician and strategist in his own right, but is never above listening to criticism when one of his officers corrects him.
