Power Plant Proposal (Closed; Attn Nations in City)

Prycuse

There has recently been a dispute over what type of power should be provided for the city. Which ever type is chosen, a huge project for a massive power plant of that type. What ever type is chosen it will be constructed outside the city. The Imported power will be from nearby Saitop Island in the South Territory of Lesser Tropics.

Cheap and less polluting, so I'll say nuclear.

If we're gonna build a nuclear plant anyway, we may as well use it for everything. It'll be expensive to build the green energy plants and they won't create all that much.

How will this save the ENVIROMENT, you know the thing we destroy. We will have to cut down forest for nuclear plants, and the pollution from the smoke and green house gases, why do we do this to our home?

The environment's just in the way. We need to destroy it to live an even remotely comfortable life. I could care less about the fish in the river or how many kinds of spiders there are waiting to eat my face off. In the words of a popular Zinairian bumper sticker: "F*** the Environment."

Cough "hippie" cough ^^ lol, but i do agree on one thing, we should make all vehicles in the city enviromentally freindly.

First your not even in the project. Second there is plenty of land without trees on it naturally. Third Nuclear plants do not pollute, they let out steam.

The Peoples Republic of Karat and Karat Power Company suggest the use of both solar for day and windpower for night, this is efficent and clean. Small generators or even a dam station may be put up to power the city at night when there is no wind. All 3 put togeather will provide large outputs of power for the International City. Karat will happaly help fund and even provide the building parts if this means of power is chosen. Ofcourse Karat will fund and help build which ever one is chosen.

Wouldn't the option: Each nation build it own (outside of City) be a proble for both the Nature Reserve and the city's own power grid?

We will be happy to help with drafting security guidelines and, if necessary, securing the reactor and anything else that could be a target. If you feel the need for armed security (the city seems like an ideal terrorist target but, on the other hand, there is no reason to suspect an attack), we will bring in some soldiers and possibly some interceptors to be stationed at the airport to escort any planes that violate no-fly zones or are otherwise suspicious.

I am requesting assistance in guarding the reactors, as they may be the most vulnerable target.

Also thank you for offering help.

What is your opinion on the interceptors? I'm not expert, but it seems that a plane crashing into a reactor (if this is even possible) would be devastating. Should not we establish a no-fly zone around the plant? How many troops would you like and do you have any requests regarding armament?

Furthermore, where will the reactor be located?

Interceptors- As quickly as possible we will build hangers and and a runway for the Republic of Zinaire only.

Air-Space Restrictions- Highest restrictions enforced over the area of the Reactors

Number of Troops- 50 on duty at a time. 100-200 ready on notice.
(OOC: If that is too much tell me, im not good at number of troops needed)

Armarment- Full; Regular armed.

Housing- a new Red district created at the north point of the bay for the soldiers.

In Addition- Do you require Prycuse to pay for the troops?
Zinaire
06-05-2008, 03:44
We will be sending 10 Eurofighter Typhoons (http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/ef2000/) to act as interceptors along with their associated flight and ground crews. If possible, we would like space to also station a refueling plane and a heavy-lift plane at the airport.

If the fighters cannot be scrambled in time and you feel that an approaching airplane is a genuine threat rather than a mistake, a SAM site may be useful.

Our standard armament is the FN F2000 assault rifle (http://world.guns.ru/assault/as41-e.htm) and the FN Five-Seven pistol (http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg18-e.htm). Would you like some troops with sniper rifles and/or machine guns as well? If you want troops on patrol rather than just guard duty, we will also provide some AFVs (exact type TBD).

Lastly, we request no payment as we feel that our nation is in a better position to fund the operation.
Prycuse
06-05-2008, 04:25
Aircraft- we will make room for the new aircraft

SAM- we will set up SAM sites

Sniper/Machine Guns- Yes

Patrol- That would good

Thank you for the much support
Zinaire
06-05-2008, 05:46
Our snipers will carry either HK PSG-1s (http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sn14-e.htm) or Barret M82s (http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sn02-e.htm). Our machine gunners will carry FN Minimis (http://world.guns.ru/machine/mg17-e.htm) or MAGs (http://world.guns.ru/machine/mg06-e.htm). For patrols, we will send 20 Eagle III scout cars (http://www.army-technology.com/projects/eagle/).

What kind of ground defenses (walls and whatnot) will be there? Also, maybe we should send an attack helicopter. It could be kept right onsite, meaning it could potentially intercept an aircraft before the fighters arrived.
Prycuse
07-05-2008, 03:13
Defenses- Im not really sure what could stop anything modern (tanks) but there is a couple layers of 15ft reinforced walls

Helicopter- yes, keep a few extras at the airport
Zinaire
07-05-2008, 03:14
Any guard posts? How many gates? Also, 15 feet seems a little high. Ten maybe, with barbed wire at the top?
Prycuse
07-05-2008, 03:20
10 is reasonable and barbed wire will be added.

There is a main front gate that passes through the walls one section at a time. Ex if there is 3 layers of walls then there is 3 gates in a row in the front. and 2 guard houses for every gate making it 6; plus 4 Guard towers

and a secret gate in the back.
Zinaire
07-05-2008, 03:21
I think one layer will suffice.

Also, we will be sending 5 Apache helicopters.

OOC: Not apart of this but jus' to throw it out there... what are you going to do with the nuclear waste and what happens if there's a meltdown?
Prycuse
07-05-2008, 03:28
Nuclear waste; i dont know we will adress that.
And if a meltdown happens that 2,138,000 people die and a bunch of nations will be mad at me.
Zinaire
07-05-2008, 03:30
A meltdown seems unlikely and supposedly, modern reactors are pretty much meltdown-proof.

OOC: Sorry if I burst your bubble in any way, jus' felt that was being ignored. And we all know potential nuclear meltdowns are a fun topic to discuss. ^^
Modern reactors are resistant at best.

Because it's dirty and it would fund the likes of you.
Avalic
07-05-2008, 04:08
Well since the Republic of Avalic uses nuclear energy, we support the idea of nuclear power plants. It's cleaner than coal and less expensive than solar and all that other hippie stuff. It's the best of both worlds. Besides Blackhelm, you don't go out using coal in your energy reactors than use nuclear power which generates more power and gives people a good reason to mine uranium other than the obvious fact. And we all know oil is more better to be used to power your war machines and sell excess oil for profit or you would have the dirtiest place in the world.
Layarteb
07-05-2008, 04:25
The Empire strongly suggests the use of nuclear power. It is clean, safe, highly efficient, and very cost effective. In the twenty-eight year history of the Empire and the eight hundred and fifty-one year history of the Layartebian nation, there has never been a single, nuclear powerplant crisis or disaster. We would be most willing to assist in the construction, running, and overseeing of this powerplant with a highly professional and skilled contingent of workers.
