International Announcement

Hail and good tidings, friends of the international community. We, the Senatus de Roma V, have distributed this letter because recently the topic of a renaming of The Republic of Roma V to The People's Republic of Roma V has been heavily debated for the past few months. However, today we have finally tallied the votes and it is unanimous. The nation formerly known as The Republic of Roma V, has been renamed to The People's Republic of Roma V. If your nation has any records referring to the name The Republic of Roma V, the name is no longer valid and it is advised it be changed to The People's Republic of Roma V to maintain consistency and dispel confusion.

Respectfully Yours,
The Senatus de Roma V

OOC: You don't have to advertise it whenever you change the title of your nation, ya'know. But anyways...

We would like to express our concern at this renaming of your nation, as People's Republic is traditionally a Communistic title. So, pray tell, has Roma V fallen to Communism?

Communistic Name

While we, the Senatus de Roma V, do not condone nor support the practice of communism Roma V continues to remain a Democratic state. However we feel the words "People's Republic"'s meaning has been somewhat altered by its association with communistic parties. The Republic of Rome's Senate sometimes described itself as the voice of the people. The Senate making decisions they felt were in the better interest of the people. A republic based around the wishes of the people. A Republic of the People. We base our Senate off of the same one of ancient Rome. Therefore, by our definition, would People's Republic not mean a Republic of the People?

Sincerely,
The Senatus de Roma V
