Zinairian Communist Party Briefly Extant

ZINAIRE CITY– Following continued displeasure with the rabidly pro-business Zinairian government, the impossible happened– briefly. For less than two hours, Sergei Trotovsky, a Russian immigrant and activist, headed the Zinairian Communist Party.

Word spread quickly of the party's first meeting, to be held at Trotovsky's East-side flat. The meeting proceeded as planned, drawing an unexpectedly high turnout of seven. Reports say Trotovsky was forced to borrow chairs from his reluctant neighbors, Emma and Jacob Tern, who insist that they are not communists, adding that they "were planning to bill him for the chairs later."

Immediately after the meeting, held at 15:00, Trotovsky left his flat in order to distribute pamphlets at a local square. However, eye witness accounts indicate that at 16:27, when Trotovsky left his home, at least eight shots were fired in addition to the detonation of three car bombs parked in front of the flat. Trotosvky was killed instantly.

Although it is reported that business cards from executives at nine different companies were found at the scene, police have not made any arrests or inquiries. When asked a question related to their inactivity at a press conference, police Lieutenant Henry Gable replied, "Unfortunately, we are unable to make any arrests at the moment as we have forgotten how to operate our handcuffs." Following this remark, a police sergeant at the podium with Gable began snickering uncontrollably, leading many reporters to doubt the truth of his statement.

After Trotovsky's death, the Zinairian Communist Party promptly disbanded, its members were later sighted purchasing large amounts of pro-capitalist merchandise and denying any relation to the deceased Russian.
