Challenger-class Fast Corvette (FS)

The CHALLENGER class is a thoroughly modern new design in service with the North Point Sea Command. Capable of up to 35 knots even at full war load, CHALLENGER represents a new era in North Point's littoral combat ship development. Licensed from Vosper-Thornycroft's QUAHIR AL-AMWAJ design, originally planned for Omani use, CHALLENGER is now constructed under license (and with extensive modification) by Sun International. Newer builds of the craft will be armed with the stealth version of the Melara 76mm/62. These high-powered surface combatants will greatly increase Sun International's coastal patrol presence in and around North Point.

Evaluators of the initial design have found it more than acceptable. The heavily armed corvettes are ideal for coastal patrol, maritime interdiction, and anti-piracy operations. North Point currently operates only one CHALLENGER class corvette. Eight more are under construction with an additional ten planned.

Longsword-class Frigate (ASW Shooter) (FF)

The LONGSWORD class is an older design that continues to serve with resilience in the North Point Sea Command. While its design is somewhat dated (note the inclusion of the ASROC matchbox launcher, a throwback to an earlier time), it is still a deadly anti-submarine warfare platform. LONGSWORD is capable of carrying two Aerospatiale Dauphin helicopters for ASW duty. LONGSWORD is also equipped with the Rotara AGR-109 towed array sonar (carried in a recessed compartment in the stern). Variants of the LONGSWORD have been equipped with the AN/WLD-1 remote minehunting system for mine destruction roles. LONGSWORD is based off the British TYPE 23 DUKE frigate.

20 years of service in the NPSC have shown this ship to be a capable, survivable, and powerful frigate that will continue to serve into the 21st century. North Point operates a fleet of thirty-two LONGSWORD frigates, with another ten in reserve.

Crown-class Guided Missile Frigate (ASuW Shooter) (FFG)

The CROWN class is licensed from the American OLIVER HAZARD PERRY class of frigate that has served in the US Navy for years. The beam has been widened to accomodate a forward 48-cell VLS block for North Point's VLH (Vertical Launch Harpoon), SM-2 and ESSM.

CROWN is a solid design that has proved itself in several combat situations; notably, the Landsdale Rebellion in 1997. CROWN ships were the only surface combatants larger than patrol craft size in the area, and they performed remarkably well, with two CROWN ships absorbing two Exocet missiles each. Both ships survived due to their superior construction quality.

Acheron-class Guided Missile Destroyer (General Purpose) (DDG)

The ACHERON class destroyer is the North Point Sea Command's general purpose destroyer. Sporting bin launchers for the A-900 Sea Warrior Type A, ACHERON is the first surface combatant to carry the missiles into combat. Developed from the hull of the Russian SOVREMENNY class destroyer, the ACHERON incorporates Western weaponry into its design.

Sun International evaluators have reported that the ship is stable in high seas; helicopter operations can be undertaken up to sea state 5. ACHERON carries four RHIBs; two maritime interdiction RHIBs and two common RHIBs. North Point operates a fleet of four ACHERON class destroyers, with two under construction and an additional ten planned.

Dallas-class Nuclear Powered Attack Submarine (SSN)

The DALLAS class are based off the highly successful American Los Angeles class attack submarines. Incorporating Rotara machinery, DALLAS has been improved by the addition of a shrouded propellor; this makes the already stealthy design stealthier. DALLAS' torpedo tubes are capable of firing the M48 ADCAP torpedo as well as the Sub-Harpoon munition for use against surface ships.

Sun International submarine captains have reported that the boats perform remarkably well while submerged. Since their inception into the North Point Sea Command 8 years ago, no major accidents have occurred. North Point operates a force of 17 DALLAS class attack submarines.

Paladin-class Nuclear Powered Strategic Submarine (SSGN)

The PALADIN class is a replacement strategic submarine for North Point's aging LANCER class. PALADIN is essentially a modified American OHIO class strategic submarine, fitting the usual SLBM launch tubes with VLS capability for the Rotara A-900 Sea Warrior anti-ship/cruise missile. This qualifies PALADIN as an SSGN. Sun International's ban on nuclear proliferation prevents Sun International Naval Systems from producing this submarine class as a ballistic missile launch platform. PALADIN is capable of fire support for invasion forces, anti-surface warfare using its immense arsenal of forty-eight A-900 anti-ship/cruise missiles, or as a launch platform for covert strikes against land targets.

Evaluators have described this new type of ship as a perfect fit for Sun International's overseas operations. It has also been shown as an ideal platform for cruise missile attacks; launching its missiles from the safety of the ocean depths. North Point operates only two of these magnificent boats, with five under construction and an additional fourteen planned.

Preserving the People

'Calm Through Conflict'; that is the Theoroshian motto. So far, it has served us through numerous wars and many battles and has made Theoroshia into the great and powerful nation that it is today.

However, that power is constantly tested and threatened, and Theoroshia must be ever ready for attacks on the Motherland, for a man can not give out money to the crowd without being robbed eventually.

Therefore, the Socialist Republic of Theoroshia formally announces that it wishes to buy the following:

4x Longsword class frigates
3x Acheron class guided missile destroyers
1x Houston class nuclear powered guided missile cruiser
2x Dallas class nuclear powered attack submarine
1x Paladin class nuclear powered strategic submarine

Due to Theoroshia's past dealings with Sun International, we have great confidence that our order will be met with satisfaction. By our count, the grand total comes to $21,700,000,000.00. Half of it will be wired to your nation now, with the rest coming upon confirmation of our purchase.

Subject: Challenger Class Procurement

Good day, the Empire has recently become interested in the Challenger class patrol corvette. We, at the LDC, admire the design greatly and wish to procure a number of variants. However, in order to adhere to the requirements of the Ministry of Defense, we wonder if the following modifications can be made for this vessel type. First, to move the forward quadruple launchers to the rear, reducing the size of the helipad to one capable of only supporting a miniature, unmanned aerial vehicle such as the MQ-8 Firefly. Secondly, for the installment of an eight-cell, Mark 48 Vertical Launch System in the forward area behind the main gun. The Mark 48 is strictly for surface-to-air missiles only and will hold RIM-162 Evolved Sea Sparrow Missiles as their dimensions prohibit them from holding anything larger. Thirdly, for the installation of a Mark 75 Oto-Melara 76mm/62 caliber super rapid, low-RCS main gun over the previous option.

We understand that these customizations may incur additional costs and we wish to negotiate for pricing on these modifications. We hope to hear from you soon concerning our request, thank you.

Sincerely,
Alexander Rojas
Vice President of Procurement

Classification Levels

Standard: Standard classification is the normal level of encryption. It is equivalent to the standard levels of encryption seen on most secure e-mail clients.

Confidential: Confidential classification is a higher level of encryption than "Standard" but it is not heavily encrypted. It is used mostly for flash traffic to foreign countries and requires some additional decoding time. It uses 512-bit RSA encryption methods and has several key ciphers that change unpredictably.

Secure: Secure communiques use 1024-bit RSA encryption and several key ciphers within them that change unpredictably to ensure that message traffic is not hacked or decoded. Access to said messages would require heavy cracking software and significant resources but it is not "uncrackable." It can be a viable level through 2010.

Encrypted: Encrypted classification is the second highest level of classification. It is uses 2048-bit RSA encryption and multiple key ciphers within it to ensure that cracking it would take such a significant amount of time to accomplish that, should it be done, the message's usefulness would have already expired. Though anything is crackable, because of the methods employed, this level is often considered "uncrackable" by current capabilities. To ensure revolving protecting, ciphers and encryption algorithms will change unpredictably. This level is sufficient until 2030.

Maximum: Maximum classification is the highest level of classification available. It uses 3072-bit RSA encryption and multiple key ciphers that change unpredictably. It can provide protection past 2030.

Experimental: Currently not a fully recognized level, experimental denotes a category using 15360-bit RSA encryption and multiple key ciphers that change unpredictably. It is not in full operational use as of yet.

VIGILANT was designed to specifications provided by the Layartebian government, and is intended as an Anti-Air Warfare (AAW) version of the CHALLENGER. Mounting a forward VLS for Evolved Sea Sparrow Missiles, VIGILANT's anti-air capabilities have been completely upgraded. Other design changes include a downsized helipad aft to accomodate the MQ-8B Fire Scout.

Modifications have not overly affected the ship's performance. Evaluators have reported that helicopter operations can proceed up to sea state 5. The addition of the stealth Melara 76mm design has significantly reduced the vessel's radar signature. The North Point Sea Command has only one ship, the prototype, in service, with three building and an additional twelve planned.

Subject: Vigilant Class Procurement

The Layartebian Defense Corporation has reviewed the specifications for the Vigilant class as well as the performance of the prototype. We have given our seal of approval and wish to place an initial contract order for 70 vessels valued at $31,500,000,000.00 with the option of an additional 30 at a future date.

OOC: I will also order a ton from Tnemrot in a few days.

Eagle-class Aviation Cruiser (CV)

The EAGLE class represents a departure in naval theory in North Point. EAGLE is essentially a cruiser with a flight deck; capable of launching the A-900 missile as well as supporting STOL combat operations. EAGLE carries 24 Dauphin helicopters for ASW, as well as a supplement of Fire Scout drone helicopters. It can also carry a small airwing of the F-35C Lightning II. The design is based off the Soviet KIEV class.

EAGLE is classified as an aviation cruiser since it is not a true aircraft carrier. North Point operates only one EAGLE aviation cruiser.

The Commonwealth of Tolvan has been most pleased with the performance of our Houston class FACs. As a result we have opted to once again seek out your fine products to fill a vital need of the Tolvanic Navy. We require an ocean going corvette to fill the gap between our fleet of FACs and our new Type 42 Littoral Combat Ships. To that end we wish to acquire sixty (60) Vigilant class fast corvettes.

However, we request some minot modifications to our vessels:

Replace the Oto Melara 76mm gun with a Tolvanic Gunnery Mk 37 57mm gun
Replace the Naval Strike Missiles with provisions to mount the AGM-200C AShM
Replace the RAM launcher with the Tolvanic Type 90 24 cell RAM mount

We are of course willing to pay extra for these modifications.

R-class Patrol Airship (ZNP)

The R class is a non-rigid airship (blimp) built for coastal patrol and light anti-ship roles. Designed as a cheap method of prosecuting pirates and smugglers around North Point, the R class carries four AGM-119 anti-ship missiles. R blimps are not meant for frontline combat; instead, they are used solely for coastal patrol and surveillance. The R class is fitted with the SI Naval Systems BGS-type radar, which functions as air and surface search. It has an effective range of up to 130 miles. The powerful Pratt and Whitney engines are license manufactured in North Point, and each provide 500 horsepower, giving the blimps a maximum speed of 80 miles per hour. RFD-100 chaff launchers provide an effective missile defense layer.

North Point operates over 35 R class blimps. To date, R class blimps have sunk 67 small craft positively identified as pirates, and 14 speedboats tagged as smugglers. Their lighter-than-air traits allow them to casually loiter over an area, and their endurance makes them ideal for coastal patrol.

F-class Anti-Submarine Airship (ZNS)

The F class is a non-rigid airship (blimp) built for anti-submarine warfare roles. It is designed as a fast blimp (maximum speed of 88 mph) capable of chasing and killing nuclear submarines. F blimps are meant to work in tandem with ASW frigates, P-3 Orion patrol aircraft, and other ASW helicopters. F airships are fitted with MAD gear (a towable MAD bird, like the type carried by SH-60B Seahawk helicopters) and droppable sonobuoys for locating submarines. RFD-100 chaff launchers provide an effective missile defense layer.

North Point's concentration on ASW has made the F class blimp very popular. Crews report that they ride smoothly and some have even described their speed and somewhat bumpy ride as "fun". F-class blimps scored over 23 kills on rebel SSKs during the Landsdale Rebellion, as well as numerous assists when working with LONGSWORD class ASW frigates.

Gone are the days of the hydrogen filled monstrosity coated in rocket fuel waterproofer. They have been replaced with a helium filled airship with many dozens of separate self-sealing compartments. Sure it'd be easy to make one lose some serious altitude, but forcing an airship to the ground fast enough to result in permanent damage to the gondola will be difficult.

Reprisal-class Guided Missile Destroyer (DDG)

The REPRISAL is an older design, based off the American CHARLES F ADAMS destroyers of the 1960s. North Point licensed the design 20 years back to create the now-obsolete EISENHOWER class. After the EISENHOWER class was deactivated, the hulls were placed in mothballs. Now, 20 years later, SI Naval Systems has refitted the EISENHOWER class with modern electronics and weaponry to form the REPRISAL class.

Changes include the addition of Harpoon launchers in place of the obsolete ASROC and the addition of RAM as the ship's point defense weapon. The dated 5"/54 design has been replaced with the modern 5"/54 seen on the American ARLEIGH BURKE destroyers. SI's 2008 refit has created a cheap, powerful modern destroyer design; North Point's previous 34 EISENHOWER class destroyers are all in the process of being modernized for export.

Jupiter-class Nuclear Powered Attack Submarine (SSN)

JUPITER boats are no longer in active service with the North Point Sea Command. These ships served as the work horses of the NPSC for the past 20 years, and were phased out of service in favor of DALLAS class attack boats. As per Sun International policy regarding all warships, every JUPITER class boat was laid up in reserve. Five of the class were turned into museum ships.

Following the increased interest in Sun International submarine systems, the JUPITER class has been refitted and modernized for export. Improvements include the addition of the Rotara AGR-100 bow mounted sonar array and the ability to launch Sub-Harpoon munitions from the JUPITER's eight torpedo tubes.

Warhammer-class Frigate (FF)

WARHAMMER is a newer design in service with the North Point Sea Command. While the ship itself is based off the Soviet KRIVAK class (Soviet designation Project 1135 Burevestnik), which is over 40 years old, SI Naval Systems has licensed the design and made several crucial changes to bring the old frigate up to today's standards. This is the first frigate to incorporate Rotara's AS-320 anti-submarine rocket, an extremely powerful ASROC type weapon that can be launched from standoff range. The frigates have been "westernized" with radar and weapons used by North Point.

These ships are successful ASW platforms; their ability to fire the AS-320 from standoff range makes them good team players with ASW blimps and P-3 Orion aircraft in ASW operations. They are stable in high seas. The frigates also ship the typical Harpoon canisters and a US 5"/54 naval gun, which makes them useful general purpose frigates (and not just ASW shooters).

Our recent purchase of eleven vessels has greatly raised our respect in you; they have performed exemplary and so far have managed to impress the Theoroshian Naval Yards.

It is with that solemn note that we now wish to purchase more of your vessels. This new "North Point" fleet, as it is now nicknamed, has plenty of front line units; however, it needs more support for longer ranged operations, such as long range missile engagements and air craft transport.

Official Communiqué

Dear sir,

The Realm of Cotland is curious as to the possibility of modifying the armaments on the EAGLE class aviation cruiser to be better suited to Cottish needs. More specifically, we wish to replace the 5" cannons with twin 130 MM dual-purpose cannons, the A-900 Sea Warrior launchers with Cottish SBM.63B Akkar anti-shipping missiles, and the arm launchers with some VLS cells. If this is possible, we shall wire the sum for a total of 30 EAGLE class aviation cruisers, which is calculated to cost $36.6 billion NSD, upon confirmation of this order.

T-class Patrol Airship (ZNP)

The T class is a non-rigid general purpose patrol airship (blimp) that is used primarily for coastal patrol. T class blimps are (basically) combined R and F class blimps, with both anti-ship and anti-submarine capability. Mounting four Harpoon missiles and four Mk46 torpedoes, the T class is equipped with real firepower for a relatively cheap cost. Its large lift bag gives it an increased useful lift variable in order to carry an increased armament. Working in tandem with P-3 Orions, F blimps, and ASW frigates such as the LONGSWORD or WARHAMMER classes, the T blimp is a real asset in an ASW operation. Understand that all SI Naval Systems blimps are meant for coastal patrol and close-to-home ASW operations and not extended range roles at the forward edge of battle.

North Point operates twenty-one T class blimps that are used for maritime interdiction, anti-piracy operations, and generic coast guard work.

Type 90 Mako A-class Hunter/Killer Submarine (SSK)

The TYPE 90 MAKO A class SSK is North Point's first diesel electric sub design since the second World War. A quiet, sleek boat, MAKO A is perfect for littoral missions. The design is roughly based off the German HDW TYPE 209 SSK. SI Naval Systems has fitted the boat with a shrouded propellor for noise reduction. Perhaps the best example of these boats' abilities came at a strange time. During the 1997 Landsdale Rebellion, twenty MAKO A submarines were stolen from Naval Station San Loma. The rebels made good use of the MAKO A boats, sinking over 500,000 tons of merchant shipping around the San Loma and Landsdale islands. Two of the stolen SSKs were sunk by air-dropped Mk46 torpedoes and another four by a combination of R and T class blimps, P-3 Orions and LONGSWORD frigates. Every ASW commander involved noted that the stolen boats were incredibly hard to track. The final 14 stolen SSKs were recaptured intact when Sun International contractors launched a surprise assault on the rebel-controlled Montmorin Point submarine pens.

Evaluators have remarked that these ships' underwater performance is excellent.

Dauntless-class Battlecruiser (CB)

The DAUNTLESS is North Point's 1st Fleet flagship. Licensed from the American ALASKA class battlecruiser design, DAUNTLESS incorporates many new features that make it a potent modern surface combatant. The ship still retains its second World War armor, giving it much more protection than the typical destroyer or frigate. DAUNTLESS was hit by three Exocet missiles during the Landsdale Rebellion, none of which caused anything more than a burned spot on the ship.

DAUNTLESS' nine 12"/50-caliber naval rifles are excellent for supporting amphibious operations. 50's era Mk.37 fire control illuminators have been tied in with the modern AN/SPQ-9 ("Spook Nine") to operate the secondary battery of 5"/38-caliber guns. The ship is stable in high seas and can operate a helicopter up to sea state 6.

Dear sir,

The Realm is most interested in the new SOVEREIGN class battlecruiser that North Point has released for export, and urgently requires a total of fifty-five (55) vessels of this class to fill the gap in our Surface Action Groups and suitable flagships for the Fast Carrier Groups. We would like for Sun International Naval Systems to exclude installing the 48-cell VLS system and two 5" guns, as we wish to install indiginous systems to fit into these roles in order to ensure ammunition and logistics commonality. We will also install our indiginous SBM.63B Akkar heavy anti-shipping missiles in place of the Rotara A-900 AShM, again for ease of logistics.

The total funds, minus the Realm's 5 % standing discount that North Point so generously has granted us, has been calculated to a total of $386.65 billion NSD, which will be wired upon confirmation of this order.

And you don't need to bump your thread ten times per day. Mods have been known to warn/forumban players for spamming for less than that. Once a day works just fine, because you have epic ships which people will buy if you give them a chance.

Yeah. You can buy DPRs for those missiles in case you want to equip other ships with them. Those posts are just there so people can see each missile's stats.

Houston-class Nuclear Powered Guided Missile Cruiser (Command Ship) (CGN)

The HOUSTON class command ships are North Point's most powerful surface combatants. Capable of upwards of 30 knots, the HOUSTONs are ideal carrier escorts; their nuclear reactors give them a range limited only by provisions and crew endurance. These ships form the backbone of the North Point Sea Command's blue water operations. They have been in service with the NPSC for eight years.

Captains of these ships have reported that they are stable command platforms and good all-purpose surface combatants. Their speed makes them ideal for leading destroyer divisions. There are currently five extant HOUSTON command ships serving in the NPSC, with two under construction and another four planned.

Official Request from the Grand Republic Navy
For the interest of updating an outdated fleet

Sun International,

It is with great joy that we discover your storefront in such open publicity. The Navy (http://hawk.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=Military&action=display&thread=28) of the United Republic mainly consists of old United States designs, and only one Carrier Design of its own based off of an American design. However, due to consistent threats abroad, and the fact that we are currently in a war, Naval Command has seen fit to update its fleet.

We understand that production rights cannot be given, and sadly would pay Heaven and Earth for them. Yet we would like you to look over our fleet specifics and consider which designs need to be replaced by a superior design of your own. This is in good faith, considering we have the capability to do so, and considering as a potential customer we want you to suggest what you believe would best support our Global Naval Initiative.

Also, for your considerations, we are looking for a replacement for the BB-61 Iowa Class Battleship. We would like to be able to construct this by ourselves, however we understand the facts and would pay for a design of your own, specifically your battlecruisers. Yet we desire a pure warship, capable of taking on ships and land assets, and able to take on missiles and aircraft that endanger the ship. Our extensive, and quite expensive, modifications to our Iowa Class have taken years, and have been effective. The only drawback is that they are expensive to maintain for long durations. Therefore, we request, with the fact that we will pay any price, that you design a Battleship for us.

If none of this is possible, promptly reply as such. Either way, we look forward to doing business with you, and would like an open business relationship as you being our only Naval provider.

Much Honor in advance,
Chief Admiral Buran Johnson

Mr. Johnson,

It is with great pleasure that I read a new fucking reply in my storefront. I tell you, dude, I spend way too much goddamn time drawing these boats and doing writeups and generally pulling dick on Jolt for this damned place to go ignored. :P

In all seriousness, (honestly I cba to actually RP this shit anymore), I *am* working on a North Point mod of my refit Iowa (http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k279/shipbucket/USABB-61Iowa19801.gif) I drew for shipbucket a while back. I'm replacing the Phalanx with RAM launchers (or maybe even SeaRAM, that little 11-cell RAM launcher with the Phalanx radar dealio). Other than that the refit Iowa was pretty powerful and I don't really see anything else I can add to it; other than replacing the aft turret with VLS for all sorts of goodies like SM-2, ESSM and TLAM. If you let me know what your nation's Iowa mod's details were, it would really help out.

Usually how shit works with me is that I draw it first for shipbucket, then modify it a bit and sell it. :P

On the subject of designing your navy for you, I'm still working on that a bit. Why are you using Spru-boxes and Kidd destroyers when you have the Arleigh Burke? I would also recommend using a different frigate than the Perry class. The design is outdated and it's pretty damn weak. For an ASuW shooter frigate I would recommend the Crown class mod of the Perry, since it mounts at least some Harpoon launchers and a VLS. For ASW either my Longsword or Warhammer; up to you. Cruisers seem fine, though I might suggest looking into Bellerophon since it has RAM launchers (RAM will always beat Phalanx in terms of missile stopping capability). For Battlecruisers I can only really recommend the Sovereign Kirov mod. Unless you're looking for a CB that can do NGSF, don't buy the Dauntless Alaska mod. Your subs are fine as far as I can tell.

As it seems the Waldenburger Empire will be dragged into a drawn out war, we must shift some of our industries to insure the continued style of life in the Empire itself. With that in mind we wish to order the following:

60x Type 90 Mako A-class Submarines ($330 million per unit)
100X Jupiter-class Submarines ($500 million per unit)
40X Dallas-class Submarines ($1.1 billion Per unit)
For a sub total of 113.8 Billion (USD)
There was however the offer to the Empire to cut the costs in half. This will be ignored provided that the ships are provisioned for us as well, and when our crews arrive they are ready to sail. If this is agreeable then I believe we have a deal. To avoid unfortunate incidents the crews will be moved by privately chartered ships from neutral nations, and arrive shortly.

Official Reply; Your eyes Only
A Mr. Ian B. Roberts, Cdr. NPSC

Mr. Roberts,

The BB-61 Iowa Class was modified with more armor, meaning perhaps a few more inches of the normal armor, and the addition of four more Mk 15 - 20mm Phalanx CIWS for better missile protection. Overall, the mechanical systems were updated to be inputted via GPS guidance, and radar upgraded so it could patch into the Theater Map via live-link feed to Satellite Surveillance or a Shuttle carrying equal or upgraded Surveillance equipment. Gun turrets were upgraded with magnetic hydraulics for increased efficiency (which is nothing more than releasing hull strain due to turret mass, which isn't much, but allows faster swivel), and the ammo for the 16-inch/50 caliber guns including that of a High Explosive projectile upgraded for naval combat, with increased yield to add damage to enemy ship contact, or increased spread for land bombardment.

A few other electrical changes to overall sensor (radar), and a few other top-secret additions that have in no way any advantage other than information resources. The engines on most of the Iowa's were supposed to be upgraded with Nuclear Reactors, but I cannot confirm or deny this claim. Yet as you can see, each one is quite expensive to build and quite expensive to maintain. I must admit that an overall upgraded variant, meaning upgraded in weapon technology, would better fit us.

As for your suggestions on my navy, I must confess that the reason why we still use the Destroyers in question is because they are extremely cheap to maintain, and are mainly used for Military Outpost patrols and allied water patrols, in theater's known to not have much combat. Basically our version of shore patrol craft, expect bigger. The Republic Navy seems to have a fancy for big things, as you can tell by our huge compliment of Battleships.

The Perry Class is used mainly in peacekeeping operations where LHD-1 Wasp Class Helicopter Carriers are being operated. We never really got around to finding the heart to replace them, and their operation cost is also extremely cheap. So we add better guns on a few, or better missiles, or just randomly play around and use them as testing grounds for advanced military technology. In warfare, however, their statistics are basically the same, due to the fact that said technological advancements needn't get found by enemy salvaging units.....and we never found anything to replace them or found the time to modify them to current standards. My fault, really.

Concerning your suggestions, we would like to accept them. However, for my own personal interests, would we be able to post statistics on our Database or basically just have to link the information for our database from yours if we choose to purchase said ships? Like I said, we are looking for a permanent defense contractor, and would like your opinion on this.

Next reply should be of purchasing something, I promise. I personally await your reply concerning the battleship, as we will pay any amount for the right to build it ourselves...considering we'd like to hire you for it.

Mr. Johnson,

ENDEAVOUR-class Design Study (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v291/Colosseum/NP_BB_Endeavour.gif)

Above is the design plan for the ENDEAVOUR class BB-61 IOWA modification. I've fitted RAM launchers in place of the Phalanx (RAM's engagement range is counted in miles instead of yards). There are also an additional 3 RAM launchers; 1 in the old 20mm tub forward and two in the old 40mm tubs aft. This brings the ship to a total of 7 RAM point defense launchers. Your modification included 8 Phalanx, but I believe RAM's capabilities more than make up for one less launcher.

ENDEAVOUR keeps the same amount of Harpoon and Tomahawk armaments. No need to fix something that isn't broken; 32 TLAM and 16 Harpoon is more than enough for a ship this size. ENDEAVOUR is not an arsenal ship.

For electronics, I've fitted the AN/SLQ-32 active jammer, the AN/SPQ-9 fire control radar (linked to the Mk.37 directors), the URN-25 TACAN system, and the WSC-3 UHF SATCOM link behind the second funnel.

The design study to refit the BB-61 class with nuclear reactors was never seriously considered. It would have been cost prohibitive and fairly useless; the Iowas were intended for NGSF, not carrier escort. If you're looking for long range combatants, go for the Kirov/Sovereign or the Virginia/Houston.

There's no really easy way to refit a ship like this with increased armor protection; it requires a complete rebuild.

I'll sell you DPRs to whatever you want; the only reason I don't sell them to anyone else is because I've had some older stuff ripped off after someone bought DPRs to it. If you want to take my designs and post them on your Database, that's fine with me. Just make sure you credit who designed them.

Subject: Mark 205 CIWS

Good day, the Layartebian Defense Corporation would like to info you of the Mark 205 CIWS system (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?showtopic=2960). We believe that Sun International Naval Systems would greatly benefit from the procurement of this product on all future vessel classes as well as current classes. The Mark 205 CIWS system is combat-proven and is the main defense system for the Imperial Layartebian Defense Forces and Navy on all warship classes, replacing both the RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Launcher and the Phalanx system.

The Layartebian Defense Corporation would like to offer Sun International Naval Systems with the opportunity for rights to this system, to be included on all future built vessel classes. If accepted, the Layartebian Defense Corporation would be able to sell each system to Sun International Naval Systems for a lower price. The Layartebian Defense Corporation would like to offer our Mark 205 CIWS system for as low as $18,500,000 each system, lower than its current export figure of $25,000,000. If this is acceptable, the Layartebian Defense Corporation would be honored to provide the specifications and detail for procurement and use of this system as we believe it will bolster the already high quality of your designs. If other arrangements are in order, we are open for discussion on the matter. We look forward to doing business with you in the future.

Sincerely,
Andrea Johnson
Vice President of Sales

It's over on the right hand side towards the top.

Edit: Oh, also, I'm *not* going back to edit all my drawings to include a fictional CIWS system. My ships use (almost) purely RL systems (with the exception of the A-900 and AS-320 which are just renamed Russian missiles). I'm trying to keep it that way, so consider your offer declined Layarteb. Sorry.

It's more like the Kashtan system but instead of Gatlings it has the two autocannons and then, on top, on the shoulder, it has an 11-round RAM launcher...

http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/2832/93857173uv5.png

i mean that's the basic gist of it...

It's like a combination of that Goalkeeper II, Phalanx, and Kashtan...

Cot has a nice picture of it, I don't really mind though what it comes out looking like as long as it looks something like what it is...I can't draw so that leaves me at the mercy of those who can...

OOC: Well yeah I didn't expect that one but I'm saying if you want to include them on future drawings, the LDC would be welling to license them to you for that purpose. Naturally, retrofits would be done by nations already in possession of the vessels and sub-classes perhaps, with significant orders.

Mr.

Regards,

Sun International Naval Systems CEO Mr. Ian B. Roberts

Official Reply/Your Eyes Only

Mr. Roberts,

It is my pleasure to have said that for the lapse of communication between our two respective departments, I have gone over the additions and specifications and have concluded that your design is superior in every way. I would personally like to have the Domestic Production Rights to the Endeavour-Class Iowa Refit. However, it would be totally up to you on this point, that if you were to add specifications of sorts for our database to save, being specifications of accuracy for the People at large who visit the site daily.

Concerning the DPR's, Anagonia in no way produces a friendship in this regard and changes said specifications unless the nation whom allowed the DPR allows us to make a modified version of said craft. As with the M102 Dominance MBT, no additions of our sort were made, it is all according to the specifications of the nation intended. As for the artists rendering of the actual craft, we have seen that your people have drawn them, and would definitely post at the bottom of said database entries that North Point has the registered trademark of the specifications and the like, and that no reproduction is permitted.

Now, I do believe I have a promise to keep. Since we would enjoy to purchase the DPR's for some of your ships to overhaul our fleet. Considering your advisment, we would enjoy the following purchases. Please be reminded that we would like to purchase the design, and in accordance will double the payment of the origional. You may add payments, or plans, to the DPR's to maintain a profit. Say, as we buy the plans, we pay you 10% fee for each one constructed so long as we use said ship. This is only a suggestion.

Now if I got the DPR's wrong, consider the order just for the one ship, until I come back with the Grand Congress's approval to purchase more.

With respect and honor to your corporation,
Chief Admiral Buran Johnson

General Purpose:
The ENDEAVOUR-Class BB-61 IOWA Modification was purchased from the Sun International Naval System Corporation for the purpose of upgrading the original BB-61 Iowa Class Battleships Designs for General Purpose use as the Heavy Surface Combatant of the Grand Navy of the United Republic. It's roles extend to Land Bombardment, Carrier Escort, Fleet Lead and/or Escort, and as a deterrent for other Nations battleships should it encounter one on the High Seas.

The Weapons upgrade include that of replacing the old MK-15 Phalanx Close-In Weapons System in favor of the more modern, and more accurate, RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RIM-116_Rolling_Airframe_Missile), or RAM Point Defense Missile System. Extensive Tests by the Navy have concluded that the range of the RAM Point Defense System far outweighs the range of the Mk-15 Phalanx, therefore contributing further to the protection factor for the Battleship. ENDEAVOUR keeps the same amount of Harthingy and Tomahawk armaments, therefore retaining the surface combatant ability without compromising mission objectives for an arsenal ship.

Electronic modifications include that of the AN/SLQ-32 active jammer (http://www.raytheon.com/capabilities/products/slq32/), the AN/SPQ-9 fire control radar (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/weaps/an-spq-9.htm) which is linked to the Mk.37 directors, the URN-25 TACAN system (http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/weaps/an-urn-25.htm), and the WSC-3 UHF SATCOM (http://www.fas.org/spp/military/program/com/an-wsc-3.htm) link behind the main funnel. These modifications enhance not only the fire control capabilities of the ENDEAVOUR, but the ensuing protection of the ship as a whole.

Mr. Roberts,

I come to you again with the hopes that you can provide something else for the fleet. I wish to inquire about if your corporation can design a Helicopter Carrier, perhaps similar to the Wasp Class, that can hold Harriers, JSF's, and helicopter gunships, with the addition of landing troops and vehicles. Or perhaps two separate ships with the same purpose. This is just a personal inquiry.

Yours in thanks for all you've done for our Great Navy,

Dear sir,

The Royal Cottish Navy is in need for several new vessels to replace old vessels or to fill a gap in our current structure, as uncovered by the Realm's involvement in the Mediterranican Penal Expedition (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=556425)

The Royal Cottish Navy's Overflatekommandoen is most pleased with the WARHAMMER class frigates, named the Type 22 "Warhammer" in Cottish service, and is most interested in procuring more vessels of this class. Therefore, we are placing an order for an additional 200 vessels of this class. This order has been calculated to cost $360 billion, which will be transfered to your accounts upon confirmation of this order.

The Royal Cottish Navy's Undervannskommandoen is in dire need for a replacement for our thirty year old Type 64 class guided missile submarines (SSGNs). Therefore, the Royal Cottish Navy has decided to adopt the PALADIN class submarine as the replacement for our old Type 64s. With your permission, the submarines will be known as the Type 68 "Paladin" in Cottish service, and will undoubtfully serve the Realm with distinction and valor. The total cost for these vessels have been calculated to cost $240 billion, which will be transfered to your accounts upon confirmation of this order.

The total cost for these 300 ships has been calculated to total $600 billion, which is reduced to $300 billion when one takes into account the most gracious 50 % discount Sun International Naval Systems has most graciously offered any involved party in said dispute. This sum ($300 bn) will be transfered to your accounts upon confirmation of the orders.

We thank you in advance for the fine craftmanship your company is renowned for, and we hope to do business here again soon.

Dear Sir,

It has come recently to the attention of the Company and of our Security Branch that the Pegasus Class Fast Attack Hydrofoils acquired twenty-five years ago by the Company for the defence of the Island Commonwealth are becoming outdated and are not suitable to the needs of the Company's current Defence Doctrine and to the needs of our Security Forces. Furthermore the vessels themselves are not particularly visually impressive and this only consolidates the poor opinion of them held by the Forces and by the General Public.

To this end we would like to procure a total of EIGHT (8) CHALLENGER CLASS FACs, to be built in North Point and sold to us for the total price of THREE BILLION TWO HUNDRED MILLION UNIVERSAL STANDARD DOLLARS ($3.2bn -£1.22bn.) Delivery should be over a four-year period and the money will be paid into Sun International Accounts as soon as the vessel arrives at Sodor Island - we will then accept total responsibility of them.

Shortly the Island is to hold our equivalent of a Navy Day and we would like it if the first vessel could be delivered in time - within the period of five months, so that it could run its sea trials for the Day's Parades. If this is not possible, we fully understand.

Endeavour-class Battleship: $7.9 billion

We wish to buy 1 Endeavour-class battleship. This comes to $7.9 billion. Turrets are not required for the battleships as we will construct the turrets ourselves. We also wish to make a request as well. We have not being able to construct a ship like the one we dream of. However, we wish to buy a battleship similiar to your own but with a few addition's to it. We do not wish for the rear turret to be mounted. We wish the bridge be pulled back as far to the rear as possible. We request that the front two turrets be dismounted as well and the turrets between the main decks and the very front turret be removed.

OOC: Where did you get the imgaes for your warships?
We are willing to buy this warship for around $8 billion for your troubles and we will sail it back to Lynion.

Greeting and Salutations,
Following review of the products and equipment offered by Sun International Naval Systems, the Imperium Assembly has allocated funds for the acquisition of twelve Defiance-class Nuclear Powered Attack Submarines to augment our fleet. The Imperium Assembly has also seen fit to dedicate funds for the acquisition of the domestic production rights for the Rotara A-900 and AS-320 munitions.

The Imperium Assembly, therefor, would like to lodge the following order with Sun International Naval Systems;

Rotara A-900 "Sea Warrior" Type A Long Range Supersonic Anti-Ship/Cruise Missile
----$30,000,000.00 [Domestic Production Rights]

Rotara AS-320 "Archerfish" Long Range Anti-Submarine Rocket
----$35,000,000.00 [Domestic Production Rights]

12x Defiance-class Nuclear Powered Attack Submarine
-$1,800,000,000.00 ea
----$21,600,000,000.00

Total;
$21,665,000,000.00

We eagerly await your response on this order, and funds will be wired immediately upon confirmation. We would also like to inform you of the Committees intent for another order in the near future. Our current projection estimates the Republics next order, should the A-900, AS-320 and Defiance-class serve amiably, will consist of eight Paladin-class Nuclear Powered Strategic Submarine and sixteen additional Defiance-class Nuclear Powered Attack Submarine. However these figures are apt to change dependent on funding and projected force needs in the near future.

Sincerely,

OOC: If you're interested, we'd be willing to pay top dollar for you to develop some vessel(s) specific to our needs.

Well unfortunately this money isn't real and so I don't really have much of an incentive to make something for you just to get paid in fake NS money. :P

Post whatever you want and I'll see what I can come up with.

OOC: But think of all the fake expansions you could make to your fake company! Maybe some fake company cars or a nice new campus.

Anyway, I assume there's a reason you don't have a carrier yet, but we'd be interested in something based on the Ford Class supercarrier or maybe something smaller based on the De Gaulle Class. Some more logistics vessels or some amphibious assault vessels would also be very interesting.

Working on an LHD based off the TKMS MRD 150 used by South Africa. As for carriers... I may end up bastardising a CVS out of the Principe de Asturias shipbucket drawing. Who knows.

Cot: It's on hold. :P
