Office of the Hegemon, Sumguaia:

"Sir," General Alexander Mcalpin said, pacing in front of the Hegemon, wh was seated at his desk. "I really think that we cannot trust.."

"I know what you think of the Londinians, General." The Hegemon replied, cutting him off. "And I understand why. However, there will be no harm in merely talking to them."

"Exactly." Dr. Booker, the freign minister, said, leaning against a wall. "It may very well be that many of the problems our two nations have had in the past may have been avoided if only our leaedership had understood each other better."

"And how do you know that there will be no harm?!" Mcalpin protested. "The Hegemony is a great threat to the should they continue their imperialist ways, and they may very well hold a grudge against you personally! How are we to know they wont kill you if they get a chance?"

Lord Sumguy sighed, and rubbed his forhead with one hand, closing his eyes. "If they were to kill me, it would mean a war that the Londinians could not hope to win. No, it is in their best interest and ours that our nations enjoy a better relationship than we have had previously."

Gen. Mcalpin, relaizing that he had lost the argument, saluted and left, looking displeased. Dr. Booker was only a few steps behind him.

To: Consul William Nately
From: Lord Sumguy

Greetings,
It is my wish that our two nations leave behind the teoubles that came between us in the past, and forge a new relationship of co-operatiion and mutual goodwill. Therefore, I request the honor of meeting with you personally as soon as possible, at the Hegemony headquarters here in Sumguaia, that we may discuss the future relations between our countries.

With great hope for the future,
Lord Sumguy, Hegemon

En route to Sumguaia

"Mr. Consul, I feel it is my obligation, as your foreign policy minister, to inform you that this mission of 'reconciliation' is one that is most suspect," Edward Weigley stated, pacing about the aircraft cabin. "I believe that just last week our colleagues at the Defense Ministry stated that, ah...yes, 'idoleogy or vengeance-driven nations' continue to be the greatest threat to us; isn't this rath-"

"I know, I know," Consul Nately said, gazing out the window at the growing Sumguaian countryside. "But I have Mr. Crerar specifically to worry about that sort of thing. What else is he supposed to? After training at Stone Harbour, it's hard to dispell the notions so prominently held by Mssrs. Davidson and Stark - the military still feels as if its reeling from the Vivicide. I think we all are, a bit, on the inside - everyone, to say the least, can think of a person close to them who died, and we can all definitely feel the impact of living in a completely different continent and unable to return home."

The two men felt the plane's wheels brush against the tarmac of the landing strip, and then firmly cement themselves back on earth, and the aircraft began to slow.

"But, Mr. Weigley, in preventing another catatrophe to wreck havoc upon Deva Victrix, all the defensive lines and coastal batteries can't hold a candle to good diplomacy, wouldn't you agree?"

"Well, yes, I would," the foreign minister finally admitted.

The plane came to halt after sometime before a hangar, and the pair emerged from the aircraft, bedecked in grey suits and purple ties, waiting for their hosts.

As the two men exited the plane, before them was a long limo. Standing in front of the vehicle was the Hegemon, dressed in an elegant black suit. He smiled upn seeing the two emerge from the aircraft, and approached them.

"Consul Nately, it is an honor to make your aquaitance." He said extending a hand to be shaken as he addressed the man. "If you two will but follow me into the limo behind me, we may proceed to the Hegemony Headquarters, where the talks may take place."

"I'd be more than happy to," the Consul said, straightening his tie. "After you, Mr. Weigley."

The pair entered the limousine without further fanfare.

"It is not a long ride." Lord Sumguy said, as he got into the vehicle beside the two and closed the door. "The HHQ isnt far from the airport." As the car began moving, he continued. "As you may know, the Abrahamic League is still an active political entity within the Holy Empire and the Hegemony. Earlier today they asked to be permitted to send a representative to this meeting. Would that be acceptable to you, or should I inform them that they need not send anyone?"
British Londinium

"Seeing that the Abrahamic League is a significant factor in Sumguaian politics, their dispatch of a representative would be perfectly acceptable," Nately said, smiling. "The more the merrier, eh?"
Lord Sumguy
02-05-2008, 04:19
"Indeed." the Hegemon said, returning the smile. "I hear they are especially interested in possibly extending the charitable wing of their organization to British Londinium should they receive the permission of your government." He continued. "I will leave that issue up to you and their representative to negotiate." After that, he was silent for the rest of the trip, which lasted less than ten minutes.

Once the limo had stopped in front of the Hegemony Headquarters, the driver exited the vehicle and walked around to open the door for Mr. Weigley, and was revealed to be Captain Wall, the Hegemon's bodyguard and former emmisary to British Londinium. He had attempted to make himself look friendly and unintimidating for the event, with little success. Lord Sumguy opened the door upon his side of the vehicle and exited, holding the door open for Consul Nately. "Please follow me to the room in which our meeting will take place."

"We'd be happy to," the men said, following their Sumguaian hosts.
Lord Sumguy

"Right this way, gentlemen." The Hegemon said, leading the pair through the building. The vast structure of the Hegemony Headquarters was filled with people from all nations within the organization going about administrative tasks. The interior was somewhat spartan in regards to decoration, as almost nothing within the building was designed for any purpose other than efficiency.

The men were led into a small, well-lit conference room, in the centar of which was a square table with four chairs around it. An old clergyman was waiting within next to one of them, and bowed to them as they entered. "Greetings to you sirs," He said. "I am George Claxton, the Archbishop of the city of Sumguaia and head of the Abrahamic League High Council."

Consul Nately and Foreign Minister Weigley both bowed ever so slightly before taking their seats at the conference table.

"A pleasure, Mr. Claxton," Consul Nately stated. "I trust you are doing well?"
Lord Sumguy
05-05-2008, 04:48
"As well as can be expected, Mr. Nately, what with the current troubles in the second United Kingdom. The UK2 police seem utterly incapable of dealing with the terrorist organization known as the British Republican Army, so we are being forced to ensure that they will not be a threat to the common good ourselves." Claxton replied, sitting down, as Lord Sumguy sat down next to him, motioning for the two Londinians to do the same.

"So," the Hegemon said, smiling, "Is there any particular topic you wish to discuss first?"
British Londinium
06-05-2008, 02:16
"Well, I rather think there is," Consul Nately said, his voice quickly acquiring a somber tone. "I am all too aware of the crimes my predecessors have enacted against the Hegemony, and it saddens me that this had to occur to an organization dedicated to peace. I would like to, in our newfound spirit of diplomacy, offer a nonaggression pact with your nation, and offer a war reparation of one hundred billion dollars to the Hegemony nations."
Lord Sumguy
06-05-2008, 11:50
The Hegemon looked pleasantly suprised. "I accept your offer, and I speak for the Hegemony when I say you have our thanks." He paused for a moment. "The Hegemony wishes to foster a relationship of friendship with British Londinium, and as such, I am open to free trade agreements, as well as non-aggresion or mutual defense pacts between the Coommonwealth and the Hegemony should your government wish it."

Claxton was silent for a moment, then leaned forward slightly. "Does British Londinium have a stance regarding the Corporate Alliance, Consul?"
British Londinium
06-05-2008, 22:25
"Well, I'm afraid that, while I, for one, am an ardent supporter of remaining disengaged from the machinations of alliance politics, and harbor neither positive nor ill views of any alliance outside NATO, there is a sizable group of individuals within the Commonwealth who favor their elimination as an obstacle to the 'glory of the nation,' and a military action against them could be, indeed, well received. Pray tell, why do you ask?"
Lord Sumguy
06-05-2008, 23:15
"I'm afraid the risk of..trouble between the Corporate Alliance and the Hegemony may be significant in the future." Lord Sumguy said. "We beleive that the Corporate Alliance is a detriment to humanity, and I'm afraid the interests of our alliances conflict."

"Significant risk?" Claxton said, chuckling. "The League is merely waiting for a reason to attack and the knowledge that we would have enough support to do so succesfully."
British Londinium
12-05-2008, 22:19
"And how does the Commonwealth figure into your designs?
Lord Sumguy
14-05-2008, 18:07
"We would hope to have your nation as an ally if such an event were to occur," Lord Sumguy said. "we are not so foolish as to attempt to fight the Corporate Alliance on our own, and therefore would require a great deal internatonal support before we would attempt to wage such a war."

"Fair enough, fair enough; unfortunately, the Corporate Alliance pales in significance to the threat Haven poses, and so I'm afraid our military resources would be devoted to fighting them before the Alliance."
Lord Sumguy
18-05-2008, 20:21
"Of course. We do not expect you to place assisting us over your nation's own concerns for national security. regarding Haven, the Hegemony has no official stance. Should a Havenic state attack your nation without just cause however, the Hegemony would intervene militarily in defense of the Commonwealth." The Hegemon said, taking a sip from a glass of water. "Now, threatening political bodies aside, is there any subject you wished to next discuss?"
British Londinium
18-05-2008, 21:10
"Ah, yes, there is," the Consul replied. "I am afraid that my colleague and I must depart shortly, but before doing so, we would like to talk about economics. Her Majesty's Government feels that a free-trade agreement between Lord Sumguy and the Commonwealth would be mutually beneficial. At the same time, Her Majesty's Government would like to inquire as to the possibility of permitting the Londinian Broadcasting Group to set up shop, as it were, in your nation."
Lord Sumguy
19-05-2008, 23:27
"We are most welcome to such an agreement." The Hegemon said, smiling. "As a general rule, any corporation of company is welcome to expand into the Holy Empire, so long as they are willing to follow our laws. I beleive the LBG would provide a refreshing new perspective upon international events."

"As a side note," Claxton said, as if suddenly remembering something. "The League is willing to provide assistance in the form of armed forces to the Commonwealth in the current conflict with Akimonad should you require it."

OOC: is the LBG controlled/funded by the Londinian govt.?

ooc: ha, I have to laugh, it seems that you are at the end of your own attack, your the one who is newer and has fewer posts. Besides, this is very important to both of them.

And in case you didn't know, BL moved to another island, one that isn't a nuclear wasteland.

OOC: You never were that smart. I'm Vontanas. Vontanas is Nova Brittanica. Nova Brittanica was founded before British Londinium. Between my prior accounts, I've accumulated many more posts than you, and all of high quality.

BL got nuked again. You'd know that if you read the Reclamation thread. He sent thousands of nukes at Haven, and got retaliation tenfold.

But seriously, BL has no more reason to use his account. Even if PAB is right, and they could still work out something, BL has no reason to. The agreements would become null incredibly fast. Besides, he's got a new account to work with now. Let this thread rest.
