A Shattering Awakening (FT Into, Open)
OOC: Super OMG noob fleets of doom will not be tolerated. If you attack me, you'd better have a very good reason for it. If you have had any IC contact with my nation before in FT, consider it completely retconned. That includes, wars, alliances, everything.
IC:
Deep in the dark infinity of space, a world, untouched by the thousands of wars and the death of untold millions, if not billions, had lain quiet, deaf to the horrors that had taken place over the years. The world was not completely oblivious to all that waited in the universe. However, this world was not shut off by lack of knowledge, it had closed it self off by an internal decree. The world would not be silent forever as that long dead emperor had hoped to keep it so, to protect its people. A new Imperial line had risen to power in the short area of the last thirty years ;compared to the eons that the universe has existed, had began the process that would thrust their people from a state of perfect isolation, to the kill or be killed world of galactic politics and warfare.
For almost three decades, scouting parties had been launched to explore the surrounding, to find planets suitable for colonization, with little regard to whether those worlds were inhabited or not. almost half a dozen worlds had been found, several with life forms already living. All sub-human, all went extinct in less than five years. Their cities, plowed under to allow for the progress f Binarian culture and civilization to expand. Millions killed, ecosystems destroyed and replaced, settlers and marines alike flocked to the surface of these new conquests hoping to find a prosperity to call their own, and to live out their tours of duty. In the space of a single generation, students would go from learn about the geography of Binaria, to the that of the cosmos. Names like Krotos, Pelogisa, Sigma Octavia, and Coral would enter star charts. The period of mass colonization would come to an end with the passing of Emperor Gardar Arnarson II, his son Kratos Anarson assumed the throne. By Imperial decree the colonization started and ended. He declared, "Our people are spreading too far, too fast. We must consolidate our holding now. Let our people build these worlds to the potential their previous inhabitants couldn't." And so, the glorious expansion ended.
With its civilization spreading like a wild fire across the stars, the people of Binaria would soon realize that they were not the only living beings in the Galaxy that could travel the stars. The people of Krotos would be some of the first to recieve the awaking.
Krotos
A normal day on Krotos was a day of constant coming and going of ships of all kinds, commerical transports, personal starcraft, pleasure cruises, millitary. All were Binarian in orign. The Brazen, a Willard Class Destroyer was on a standard patrol on the systems edge, watching for smugglers and pirates. The asterioid belt and Oort cloud beyond it was filled with them. Commander Joesph Salheidi was in his quaters waiting for a secure communication from NavalComm. He looked at his watch, waiting for what ever the blunding desk jockies thought was so urgent, when the General Quarters alarm sounded...
OOC: Have some sort of scouting part discover Krotos on accident, or something. I don't really care, how you encounter me.
It was a minor thing, really, a small task force. The Admiral was bored, so took his task force out for a few months to explore. A single carrier, two cruisers, and a small assembly of noncapital ships made their way along.
"Admiral Kronzstyev, we're picking something up on the scanners." Admiral Valesath Kronzstyev made his way over to that particular section of the bridge, looking over the officer's shoulder.
"My, my, isn't that interesting? Send something to check it out."
"Aye." One of the cruisers, along with a few escorts, shifted position and diverted course towards the disturbance, wondering what the hell would be making the scanners show things resembling fleet movements -- there wasn't supposed to be anyone or anything out here for several lightyears.

Klaxons wailed throughout the ship, their Fran Drescher-esque cries echoing throughout the many passageways. Smoke was beginning to fill the air as fires burned on several decks. On the flight deck, burnt out wrecks that used to be fighters were jettisoned into space. Where the fighters used to sit was now a crude triage filled with burned and mangled bodies that were most often covered in blood and lined up in semi-orderly rows. The deck itself was also stained with blood in many places, while in other places it was scorched and covered with a sticky fire suppressant foam.
In main engineering, the fire was winning the battle with the damage control teams. Corpses littered the area, each resembling an over cooked marshmallow more than a person. The flames were licking at the hyperdrive housing, melting consoles and monitors, destroying wiring and coolant hoses. Liquid nitrogen flooded from the burning hoses, flash freezing the drive housing and anything that wasn't already on fire. Metal cracked and broke, and the shielding around the drive's Hermium lattice began to fail. The severed power cables also began to make things worse. The energy flowing through the lattice was now uneven, chaotic, and fluctuating wildly. The carefully controlled reaction of the Hermium lattice was now out of control, and it would be only a matter of time before the lattice shattered and the drive failed.
A large explosion rocked the ship when the lattice shattered, blowing a large chunk from the aft end of the ship. The innards of the Shanderan frigate were now exposed to the cold vacuum of space, and the remaining atmosphere was sucked out of the ship within minutes. The fires were now under control, but the ship was now dead in space. She had been ripped from hyperspace when the drive failed, and the explosion had knocked all of her reactors offline. The ship's storage tanks for the He3 that the reactors used were destroyed in the blast, so even if the reactors could be restarted they wouldn't remain online for long.
The frigate now drifted through space on the outskirts of the Krotos system, tumbling. Most of her crew was dead, the majority of the atmosphere had been lost, and all power was offline. Even the emergency lights and transponders had failed to activate, and the surviving crewmembers were forced to make due with handheld flashlights and portable radios.
Commander Salheidi raced to the bridge, his mind racing. We he got there, the XO, Colonel Xing, briefed him. "We have spotted several contacts on long range sensors, and several are moving toward our position and Krotos." The Commander looked at him for a minute in disgust. "You sounded General Quaters for that? Its probably some smugglers meeting with a supplier. We see that all the time." Xing, whose normaly calm, collected personality, radiated a combonation of terror and nervousness. "Sir, the contacts are giving off signals and sensor readings that are completely unknown. They are something other than ships made with known materials, or Binarian technology." The Commander was now just as shaken up at Xing. "Bring the ship to full alret, and when they get close, hail them." Speaking soft enough so the rest of the bridge crew couldn't hear him, "Pull yourself together, your scaring the crew." The Colonel sat down for a minute, trying to get him self ready for whatever would happen next. "Thanks I needed that." He said in a soft whisper back to the Commander. "All right, everybody, we have multiple boggeys of unknown origin. moving in. We need to be ready for anything." The XO was back to his normal self.

Sir, we have massive readings of toxic He3 coming off the ship.
Aye, get ready, once the dust clears send cleanup crews to the ship. We cant have that stuff making planet fall. Also, send and emmisary to the surface to see if any intelligent lifeforms need assistance.
Aye.

IC post coming later
As his ship prepared to exit out of the warp field it had erected fifteen light minutes from the system’s sun, Commander Arnold pondered the strange actions of the Admiral. He seemed to have been obsessed with a single world, Arexa, and upon that obsession had ordered his Cruiser to go to system MW-2045, name unknown, which had a low 15% chance of containing an Atrix, the thousand of years old data banks which had given them only three words: One of which being Arexa. So now he gave it a few seconds to think about his actions as the two kilometer long Phoenix Class prepared to drop out of FTL and begin a sensor sweep of the system for any indigenous species or nearby ships that might know about it.
He was rocked from his pondering as the ships warp field collapsed in a controlled manner, having a uniform circular surface the warp bubble was designed to not release gravitational waves, which made the ride relatively smooth. He was further awakened by a holographic representation of the system popping up in front of him, numerous dots and signatures appearing across the system, “Numerous ships of different origins sir. One appears to be recently dead in space and venting Healium-3. Orders?”
“No other evidence of a fight,” the Commander nodded to himself watching the TAC, “Send a broad band communication through standard EM waves, it’ll take a few minutes for them to receive it of course. Deploy a DSA so that we can begin far-ranged scans.”
TO: All ships in this system.
FROM: Commander Arnold of the SIS-Dawn
MESSAGE: I am Commander Arnold, representative of the Sertian Empire to everyone in this system. We currently don't know the situation of this space, but our mission here is a peaceful one of exploration and searching for an artifact that we believe, albeit not very likely, might be in this system.

A small group of ships on routine patrol several light years away were keeping their eyes open for any incursions, with the TFSN on defcon 2 alert; they had a mandate to investigate almost anything that had happened to spark interest.
On The UTS Charles F Addams a Fletcher class Destroyer
Commander James Ford was sitting back on a chair his gloved hands folded over his legs as his eyes peered out in to the utter darkness of space, he sighed a bit turning over to the tactical officer who was beaming information in and out of his head with flashes and beams of lights flashing around.
He asked with a commanding voice echoing through the blip intensive bridge.
“Tactical what do our latest scans reveal?”
The AI said with a soft robotic yet obviously human voice that reverberated around the large command center.
“We’re detecting activity in a nearby star system; it appears to have several ship and energy signatures emanating from it...”
The commander raised a hand to his chin; he looked over to the holographic representation of the sector and watched the “unknown” dots blip waves of light moving out from them across the star filled board.. He then looked back to the AI and said as he placed his hands behind him folding them.
“Tell the task force we’ll be heading to investigate these signatures, let fleet command know as well…”
As soon as that order was given the AI hybrid flashed with beams of lights, messages and data were sent via QETT to ships and to fleet command, the group of five ships began to move in unison, each small destroyer, corvette and Destroyer escort was surrounded suddenly by a void bubble, they disappeared in to a pitch black dead zone like bubble, then there was nothing, the ships were gone.
Several moments passed the ships traveled at high speed, their bubbles blotting out everything around them but their islands of light and metal, the bubbles disengaged just inside the system, as the group known as Task force 31 had dropped out of void space, returning to this universe in a quiet stealthy manner .
The commander looked at the tactical officer again and waved his hand saying.
“Scan the area, which are these ships and what’s going on here?”
The tactical officer started to run scans around space, scanning for energy discharges and weapons signatures, it had also sent out a message to the ships and planet.
“This is the UTS Charles F Addams , Terran Federation Star Navy, we have detected unknown presences in this system, and due to heightened alerts, we have come to investigate, please identify your selves.”
The Fletcher class DD was a state of the art 280 meter Destroyer, it was pressed in to service because the Enceladus was too large to be a destroyer and was re designated a light cruiser, it sported state of the art weapons, communications suites, void drives, engines, it was meant for Escorting , and supporting large capital ships, its rotary Gatling torpedo launchers equipped with high yield AM torpedoes were meant to take down the largest of threats quickly and effectively, its 2 meter MAC’s and Fire storm arrays while fewer in number to torpedo and missile tubes, were meant for general offense and defense.. Its 2 Spoiled Firestorm spinal cannons could pierce a hole through advanced shielding and layers of armor.

"Sir, ship contact, unknown origin!"
"Battle stations!" The klaxons blared as the cruiser and escorts went to battle ready status, and word was sent back to Admiral Kronzstyev and the rest of the task force, who immediately made their way to the cruiser.
Once the task force reassembled, the Admiral hailed the ship.
UNKNOWN VESSEL,
This is Admiral Valesath Kronzstyev of the Dersconi Imperial Stellar Fleet. Identify immediately. What the hell are you doing out here? There's nothing charted for several lightyears.
The Admiral gave the order for the Dersconi cruiser to stand down, albeit keep at the ready. After all, they never saw a ship like this before, nevertheless all the way out here.
"Commander" Xing said. "Several of the unknown ships have contacted us." The Joesph paused for a moment. "Broardcast a message to all unknow ships in the area."
Unknown Ships:
Who are you to demand that we identify ourselves in our own territory? This planet is a possession oo the Binarian Empire. As you are as ammazed as I am to see a ship of unknown origin here, I am guessing that your tresspassing in this system is accidental. As such I propose a meeting between our peoples on the world of Krotos.
OOC: Short post. Longer one later.
Bump. For some reason my last post is there, but but it didn't register on the forums.
"Admiral, you...may want to look at this." The Admiral came over and raised an eyebrow.
"Holy hell, their territory? Call back to the nearest Imperial Outpost. This is awesome."
Unknown vessel;
Your assessment would be quite correct -- we were not expecting to find a civilization here at all. Request entrance and docking to meet with you. Sorry about the abrasiveness earlier.
Imperial Outpost 1026
The Imperial Viceroy was shocked to read Kronzstyev's message. He immediately sent word back to the Kremlin for the Tsar to hear, and dispatched another fleet out towards Kronzstyev's position, including diplomatic and trade vessels, as well as a portable subgate, in case a one-on-one meeting with a Dersconi Foreign Ministry official was requested.
"Joe, they have responded. They seem to be apologizing. They have asked for docking intructions. How do we respond?" The Colonel asked in disbelief.
"Xing, contact Command. They'll be very interested. What about the other ships we detected?"
After checking the sensors, the XO responded. "There are three other ships in the system. However, one appears to be very badly damaged. It has also vented large amounts of Helium-three and its atmosphere."
"Send a resuce ship out to check for survivors and if none survived, salvage what they can." After a breif pause, he spoke again. "Get me secure channel to NavalComm. They'll want to know about this."
"Done sir."
"This is Commander Joesph Salheidi, Commander of the Brazen. I have made contact with with another spacefaring civilization. The sensors returns show that the ships are not made with any known technology or materials."
"Amazing. For years we have looked for evidence that we are not the only civilized being in the universe. What do they look like?"
Admiral Moss, we have yet to meet face to face, but they have asked for docking intructions. I am directing them to Krotos, as not to expose the locations of our other worlds. Just to be safe sir."
"Good call. I'll have the civillians send a diplomat over to handle this. Moss out."
"Xing, send docking intrusctions to all ships in system."
Data packet 3.5.6.32a.5f
OOC: That contains docking intrustions and is being send to all ships in system.
The Commander blinked as he read over the message, tapping his communication officer’s back during his stroll around the bridge, unlike other commanders he preferred to stay mobile and not remain idle in a chair, “Looks like they were responding to someone else’s message, but it’ll serve. Reply with an audio encoded message on all known languages, in addition to a text based communication to see if we can understand one another.”
“Yes sir, what should be the message?”
“Oh I don’t know… Greetings Binarian Empire on behalf of the Sertian Empire, our appearance here was purposeful but we had no knowledge of any indigenous species located within a parsec of here. We would love to start peaceful relations with your people.”
“Anything else?”
“Nope, and why don’t I see a Sensor Array deployed yet?”
At his command the ship immited a few meter long object from its underside, only to have the thing disappear in a stream of particles, bright gold that seemed to stand out from the starry background. Afterwards the ship seemed to accelerate at a steady thirty meters per second at a tangent towards the planet, thinking it would be unwise to suddenly jump in orbit until communications had continued.

The Charles F Addams and its escorts had moved closer and closer to the position of the ships, its engines blaring behind it with a white and blue trail of fire shooting out, the command had received both messages and instructions via com, he looked over to the con officer who was already tendering a reply.
“You do not appear to be … malicious in intent however due situations beyond our control we have been mandated to investigate any thing in this area, we mean no harm we only wish to establish friendly relations with your kind we accept your invitation and shall move in to orbit to beam down representatives of our country”
The ship moved closer to the planet, its body shimmering with its rough hull reflecting some sun light away from it.
The ship docked at the appropriate location. The rest of the task force stayed at arms length, in order to not intimidate the unknown peoples too much.
Admiral Valesath Kronzstyev wore his black and gold Admiralty Battle Armour, a powered suit of armour designed to look like a Daemon Prince, albeit less "Daemon" and more "Prince." The nanotech inside the helmet and his implants gave him an artificial psionic link to the rest of the task force, so he could be in constant communication with both the task force and the Imperial Battle Network. He also wore his officer's sword, made of an unknown material, but due to the skill of Dersconi swordsmiths, it undoubtedly was strong. Two staff members came along with him, each clad in the black and crimson uniforms of the Imperial Stellar Navy. Two black wisps trailed behind them, although if anyone was reading energy signatures, they'd realize they were, in fact, alive.
The Admiral waited for whoever was supposed to take him to the diplomat, and anxiously looked forward to the new contact.
As the unknown ship was docking, a diplomatic transport, the Hermes was in the Binar System, preparing to begin the Quantum tunneling process. On the bridge, Captian Wilmann waited for the power build up to be released into the tunnel generator. The space around the ship flahed bright red, and the ship was sucked into an artifical rift. Several seconds later, it reappered in the Krotos System, a relatively short jump, in a flash of red and white light. The Hermes moved toward the docking platform on the port side of the already docked vessel. As the Magnectic clamps swung into place, an umbilical extended out to the Herme's forward air lock. Harry Kisenger walked towards the neighboring dock.
Meanwhile, a team of Marines was heading to greet the leaders of the unknown ship, who according to the message, was an Admiral with a wierd name. When they approached, they put their rifles on their backs and saluted.
Admiral Kronzstyev looked over towards the Marines, his eyes glowing red from the nanite implants, and nodded in return, while the other physcial entities with him saluted back.
"Nice uniforms. I'm Admiral Valesath Kronzstyev, in case you didn't figure that one out already. I don't know the layout of the place, so I'll entrust you to take me where I'm supposed to go. Lead on."
"Well, looks like one ship has arrived at the docking platform," the officer yawned, because despite being given docking instructions the commander still refused to rely on using Drift Drive transportation and 'spooking' the binarians, despite the fact a ship suddenly appeared out of FTl nearby the platform, and thus they were accelerating with standard plasma sublight systems and were due at the station in the next several hours.
"Ah well, what has the array picked up yet?" the Commander asked, yawning himself as it was getting late by the ship's clock, so much that he was slumped tiredly in his chair.
"Besides what we believe to be Binarian vessels and that ship already docking? There was a brief detection of a UTF vessel but we haven't seen it again."
"The UTF? Are they everywhere in this galaxy?" the commander chuckled to himself before breaking into another yawn, "Ah well, let's not send a message greeting them yet, given the fact we don't know where they are. Also, go take a nap. I'll be taking one too. Elsa," he said nodding towards the tactical officer of the bridge, "You've got the helm while I take a nap. Everyone else who's got some unlucky second to replace them, get some shut eye."
