North Moriabia-05:30 Local Time

Sweat poured from his forehead as a barrel of an AK47 pressed against his head. Kiraw Lorigna, the local rebel commander against the Moriabian Government had been captured after a lengthy firefight. he waited for the gunshot which would end his life.

The civil war had ben raging in Moriabia for 60 years and nothing had been done. The 90 by 120 miles island 120 miles west of the Republic Of Colstream had been under a Military Junta since 1948 and had over 3 Million Men in their Army and a Air Force based on a medium sized country. They had been trained by the former Dictatorship Of Hervia which was now under Colstream Occupation following a War.

The gunshot echoed through the morning air. Kiraw Lorigna fell to the ground and into a prepared mass grave where another 1300 rebel soldiers lay.

OOC: This thread will not start with be the deployment of mass invasion armies. The thread will start with several commando raids by the participating forces followed by disruption of government forces. The participating armies can help either the rebels or the corrupt government The invasion will come later in the thread. The limit for helping armies is 3 Divisions each.(Size will depend on country involved. Rebel forces can have help through Private companies but they must not exceed 500 Men.)

Also there is to be a limit of:

2 helpers for the Republic Of Colstream
4 Private Companies for the Rebels (Black Storm)
2 Helpers for the Dictatorship Of Moriabia

The Leader of the Republic Of Colstream is President Jack Walker
The Leader of the Dictatorship Of Moriabia is General Rochei Palista
The Leader Of the Black Storm Rebels is Commander Charlis Patric

(So no mass destruction ala Hervia? Don't worry, I'll be moderate in my deployments. But count this as a tag for interest on your side: I don't have time now to post, but will do later.)

Kovinzski Michaelov ordered his men to dig down the parachutes. He and his men had jumped off a glide plane just minutes ago, and were now hiding in the forest of Moriabia. He was sent from a almost secret coporation called "Temporal Coporation", who is also known as a world wide agency bureau, but thats just a cover up of course. Michaelov had been chosen by Commander Charlis Patric him self, as they had been fighting togheter in the war against the USC (United States of Corn).

"Lets move on." Michaelov's voice sparked in the speakers. All of the 30 special trained and fully equiped soldiers moved tacticaly through the forest. They were to rendevou with another division, coming in from the mainland with boat. They'r count was a 125 trained and equiped men, and Michaelov's mission was to clear the area for enemy presence. And his tactics was guerrilla.

OOC: Nice Post, when you engage the government forces you rp your losses and i will post the government forces losses because i am rping the rebels and the Fascist Government Forces.

30th April, 06:00 Local Time, Northern Moriabia.

As the sun came up, more shots could be heard throughout the northern forests. Many soldiers had been moving from village to village shooting Black Storm sympathisers and collaberators. This had been heighted after after a revenge attack by Black Storm Rebels on a nearby airfield killing 120 Soldiers. In a village called Hreata, a callous event occured. After gathering the woman and children in the village, several government fighters blew the village to pieces. After that occured, the men were forced to march down the road through the forest. When Black Storm Rebels arrived to help, all they found was burning buildings and corpses....

Michaelov inspectet the burning houses and the ashes of once men and women. But they had no time for helping the needing. As the last of his men had sneaked past the burning village, he shortly followed.

They had reached the beach where the secound division would land, there would also be a secound squad of special soldiers to help Michaelov in a special task, that he had not yet been briefed on. The marksman sqouted the area. "Darn" the marksman whispered. "Let me see." the marksman handed the binoculars to Michaelov. A small aquad of government troops were guarding the beach, there were also two small boat. The soldiers were unloading supplies from it. "Ok, Jefferson! Pick a small squad and go to the other side, at those cliffs. Tow down, and attack at my order, use the rocks as cover." A camoflaged man nodded, pointet at at least 10 men, and dissapeared in the forest. "You and Luigi stay here, and provide sniper support." The marksman, and another man who appeared to be Luigi, gave a salute and picked up their sniper rifles, two .55 snipers. "At my mark, you fire the first shot." Michaelov said low, and dissapeard in the forest with the rest of his men.

The men at the beach did not expect any attacks yet, but they were still aware and on guard. 4 men patrolled the coast, but one of them were headed for the forest, he thought he heared something. 5 minutes later, one of the men worried, Sifris had not returned from his patrol. Something was wrong. The man reacted, a floc of birds was flying up from the forest, apparently scared of something. "Hey captain, there iz somethin wrong hiere..." the man got interupted. The whole forest echoed from a gun shot, and the man fel to the ground, without a head. "To arms!" the captain of the goverment forces yelled, but a little to late. Supressing fire from the cliffs slaughtered the men, as more enemy soldiers advanced from the forest. A rocket hit one of the boats, and it bursts in fire. But one of the goverment troops managed to mount the other boat mounted gun, and started to shoot wildly at the advancing forces. But he was quickly taken down by a sniper. Suddenly there was silence, and over the wireless two words were said, "Area secure."

The cliffs came under fire by 2 MIG-27 Flogger Ground Attack Fighters. They dropped 2 1000lb bombs each on the raiding party. 4 large explosions rocked the cliffs......

Meanwhile on the Southern Coast, 12 Men of the Colstream Special Forces(Spetsnaz) moved onto a beach. They disembarked from the boat. They were carrying their standard issue 5.45 x 39.5mm AKSU-74 Assualt Rifles and H&K USP 0.45 Pistols with them. They slowly crept towards the nearby forest to avoid the land and air partols that went through this area.

A V-22 Osprey skimmed the treetops of the Moriabian forest, the pilots got the aircraft here with the help of midair refueling, the 6 man recon team onboard the V-22 sat waiting, preparing to fastrope into the forest at any second. "Okay guys we're coming in, it looks cold down there, no sign of hostile forces." The pilot radioed to the leader of the recon team in the rear of the aircraft. "Okay guys we're approaching the LZ fast!, I'll be first on the ground, equipment check!" Cody Lancer announced to the rest of the team. The whole team then performed a quick equipment check as the aircraft hovered in place. "3...2...1... GO! GO! GO" The pilot radioed to Cody, who then deployed the rope and signaled the rest of the team before going down himself, he could feel the rope burning even through the thick military-grade gloves. Cody finally touched down, immediately taking cover behind a nearby tree-trunk. The rest of the 6 man team one after another quickly and swiftly slid down the rope and also assumed a defensive position as the V-22 dropped the ropes and flew back to an aircraft carrier and escort that was now awaiting in the sea on standby.

The team was now on the ground, clad in Tigerstripe camoflauge BDUs and Tan combat boots, clutching H&K 416 carbines. Glock 19 9mm pistols were secured in they're thigh holsters, and Cody carried a Taser in one of his magazine pouches. Cody ordered the team to follow him to a nearby town just outside of the forest, to scout for the location of a reported genocide, and to try and establish contact with a possible Rebel movement.

General Rochei Palista, Dictator Of Moriabia had recieved news of the Commando Attack by the Homeworlds and had ordered that the area be sealed off. As that order came through, 3 divisions began to seal the forest and roads leading from the cliffs where the attack took place.

President Jack Walker had contacted the Leader Of the Black Storm Rebels, Commander Charlis Patric and had discussed the use of the units now ashore.

12:00 Local Time, near Village of Retare, Northern Coast

2 F-111 Aardvark Strike Fighters armed with Mines flew over the Main Road near Retare and dived towards the ground. At the last minute, parachute retarded mines were dropped and floated down towards the road. The parachutes released the mines and they cratered into the road. The F-111s made a hasty retreat to avoid the air patrols.

The local rebel commander, Nirat Intra, watched the helicopters drop the team. He fired a flare to help them find his position and get into their camp for relative safety. The regular armored patrol came down the main road nearby and the team would be decimated if they were found, so they needed to find him immediately.

OOC: The Genocide is all over the country so you can only stop it locally until the Government Troops come back with reinforcements.

Cody signaled with his hand for his team to stop, as he heard something fire. He looked towards the sky, he then spotted the source of the sound, a flare had been fired into the air. He then signaled the team to follow him towards the flare, moving cautiously. The team moved about a mile West when they reached a road and clearing, Cody ordered 6 men to stay prone in the field just outside of the woods and cover him while he and the other 5 men in the team moved towards the back of one of the tents cautiously, as they did not know whether or not the flare was a lure by opposing forces or a genuine sign of help by Rebel forces. Cody approached the front of the tent as the 5 others crouched behind the tent out of sight, he spotted someone who looked of importance. "FREEZE!" He shouted as he aimed his 416 at the person. Are you the rebel leader? he asked, awaiting a response.

"This is Partyvan 1. Preparing to start celebrations, over."
Any observer looking up into the sky from the nation of Moriabia would know what was about to happen. Those remebering the liberation of Hervia would be wetting themselves right now.
For approaching from the Alfegan colony of Tho'lara, the name of the nearest Alfegan colony, was the trademark Alfegan portent of doom: 3 airships flying in formation. 2 Aero-cruisers, each laden with missiles and the like, and a Stormbringer-class Aerodropship, loaded with a company of Aeromarines and their equipment. Someone meant business.

"Attention Moriabia government: you have been surveyed recently by Colstream government commiting acts of genocide, carrying out the restriction of fundamental liberties of your people and posing a threat to all democratic nations nearby. As a result, we are invoking Chapter 3 of the Alfegan Global Peace Charter, which will result in your invasion if you do not comply to our demands within 72 hours.
These demands are for your government to step down in place of an elected leadership, and for inspectors to enter your nation to verify the mass-killings known to have taken place.
In the latent period before the storm, you will have the chance either to prepare your defences or comply. Before you choose, remember Hervia. And remember the WLA in Zaheran. You will not stand a chance. Thankyou for listening."

The airships proceeded to move into a menacing orbit around the nation's outer maritime boundaries: they were in international waters, so if shot at would be able to call in the full force of Alfegos. From here, they began selecting targets, whilst acting as an open threat.

________________________________________________

Underneath the RADAR level, a different task force were arriving. 24 men with the highest beta-classified equipment in existance, aboard a stealth ekranoplan now floating across the waters towards the coastline. Each man was a highly trained ASF special forces commando, and each group of 4 men had been given a task: to disable the entirity of the nation's power grids, followed by air defences and naval defences. Once finished, the target nation would be helpless to an invasion. And a revolution might even occur, to be steered by Alfegos to the right direction, started by the angry peoples.

The ekranoplan stopped a kilometre offshore, before turning and leaving, thundering off as it suddenly started floating above the water, ebfore fully taking off. It left behind the commandoes, in 6 black dingys. They slowly moved in towards the area of unwatched coastline selected, ready to carry out their tasks. By them in the boats floated metal supply chests, filled with equipment, for the hiding of to act as their lifeline. Until they were picked up.

As the sun set over the horizon, the silhouette of a F48 Stealth Chopper silently glided over the calm and gentle sea. Six special forces troopers sat looking out at the island before them. One smoking, another reading a book and a lone figure at the rear of the chopper softly nodding up and down to the sound of music in his ears.

"What?! Another book Jenkins?" Spoke the trooper with a puff of his cigarette.

"Reading increases your intelligence Brough. You should try it sometime... you can read huh?" He calmly replied

"Hahaha." Brough chuckled "Depends how many naked women are on the page."

A tall muscler figure appeared from the cockpit and put a small black box on the floor of the chopper.

"Right lads listen up. For gods sake Parler turn that damn music off."

"Oh... yea sorry captain." Parler replied fumbling his music device into his pocket.

"Right listen up." The captain pushed a small button and a small blue light shone from the small black box, revealing an island.

"This little bit of paradise is called Moriabia. If you looked up this place in a tourist guide, it would read 'A lovely place for the person who wants to get a bullet in the head.' Make no mistake lads. This island is a bomb waiting to go off."

The soldiers all stared at the captain and nodded.

"Intel has told us that this country has gone straight to hell. Civillians being gunned down in the streets by government forces. Rebels fighting back. Civies getting stuck in the middle. Its been like this for the past 60 years." The captain's eyes looked at each individual.

"So why in hells name are we flying here putting our lives on the line for an already doomed country?" Asked Brough.

"Because your daddy said we had too. I told you before Brough, don't try and understand politics, your brain will only hurt." Replied the Captain

"All you need to know is our objectives." He presses a button and the blue image of the island zooms in to a beach north of the island.

"This is where we will be landing. Our objectives are too find intelligence on any weapons, chemicals or anything that could cause a threat to global safety. Our government won't send in troops without information of a possible threat. The wonderful ideal of if its not effecting us, it doesn't matter."

"Next we have to retreive a informant of ours. This gal has been supplying us with the majority of the intel of whats been going on here. However, we lost contact with her afew days back. We look after our friends, so shes heading back to Busby to have a nice 3 story house for the rest of her life. Our objective is to make sure she gets there."

"Any ideas where we can find her." Asked Parler

"Not yet. However, i'm sure we can persade a few government officers with err..." He clunches his fist. "Proper persuasion. If not, we see what the rebels can offer us."

"One important thing to remember lads. We're walking into the gates of hell here. The rebels shoot anyone in a uniform and government soldiers shoot anyone. So keep an eye out. Stealth is our primary weapon."

A voice comes from the cockpit. "5 minutes captain."

"One more thing lads. We've heard that other nations of the world will be sending in troops. Now some will be fighting with the rebels, whereas others will fight with government troops. We are under strict orders not to engage any other nations armed forces. For god sake i don't want an international incident."

"Remember lads. Watch your mates back and we'll be fine. Good luck. We touch down in 5."

Mikaelov approached the boats with reinforcement, a man jumps out of the first approaching one. He have the marks of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. a loner, works for blood money. The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. wears the high tech exosceleton, that does not only protect the wielder, but increases his strenght to.
"You be Pedro?" Michalov asked the man.
"Yes, I am the captain off these forces. I assume that you are Ghost?. How did it go securing this area?" the man answered, in a DDR accent.
"No one call me Ghost any more." Michaelov replied, he looked away for a secound, and looked back at Pedro.
"I lost at least 10 men when two AG attacked us. I thought Temporale would controll the airspace, or at least warn us." Michaelov said furious, but Pedro did not answer.
"Michaelov!" a men stepped sown the beach, carefully, like he was avoiding something.
"The mines are set." he said.
"All of them?" Michaelov asked, and did not look away from the loner in the Exoscelet.
"Yes, and by the forest as you ordered. They are all hidden, and no trace of them, sir. If someone pass here they will get a suprise."

"What is the meaning of this?" pedro interupted, upset. "How are we going to get up to the forest?" Michaelov did not answer but gave only the order;
"Turn the boats around" .
Pedro hesitated, but followed the orders. Soon the boats were going upcoast.

They followed the cliffs for a short amount of time, until they foun a small cave. At first glace it looks like a dead end, maybe it was. The 5 boats parked just outside the cave entrance. Michaelov took up a flute, and whistled to short and one long, and then two short again. A answer of three short and one long followed, from inside the cave. Michaelov nodded everyone to enter the cave, and to be quiet. Inside the cave it was a small passage, that one could crawl through. Another squad from Temporal had secured the cave, and two bodies were floating in the water, and was pushed back deeper into the cave off the waves. Michaelov was the last one to crawl thorugh the small passage. And short after, they were back into the forest. All the men where hiding, and securing the area.
"Now, we should to find a rebel hiding place. We can make us a temporary base there, and we can set up radio equipment." Michaelov suggested to Pedro.
"Then we can update on the political situasion, military targets and we can call in air support," Pedro nodded. "Lets do this." he quickly followed, and indicated that they should move on.

E-3 Sentry the “Sparky Rabbit” 100 miles from the coast…

The aircraft had been deployed to monitor foreign activity as well as domestic activity, in Colstream it had just arrived, in tandem with satellite Intel, its main job was to contact the rebels and let them know help was being offered, and then to send this message back from there to Continental headquarters.

Captain Steve Erwin was sitting on his chair in the cock pit, his oxygen mask over his face as he swiveled around the noisy, jet engine sound filled cabin, to the working officers in back. He said over the Intercom system wirelessly linking all the helmets.

“Any noise from the other faction, or are we still picking up government chatter?”

His second in command who was busy making out faint chirrs and noises and crackling voices looked over and responded his hands on the controls in front of it him.

“I think I got some chatter but I don’t know from witch side, seems like things are going down here sir…”

Steve raised an eyebrow his flight suit pressed against his body as he folded his hands on his lap, the E-3 on auto pilot, the large pod twirling around as the craft moved through the sky over international waters. He sighed once, and spoke again looking at orders that had some through to send the message on a said frequency; he hoped the rebels would get it. He looked back to his second in command and said through the radio, as he sent the massage to his second’s console.

“All right send this message on this frequency, hopefully things will go well, I don’t want to screw this up..”

His second in command looked at the monitor, the digitized message coming up on plasma LCD display , he placed his hands on the digitized keyboard and started to tap , he started to record himself reading it, while sending it on that frequency at the same time.

Greetings from the United Continental States Of the Federal Union, we have seen and heard of your plight and wish to assist in any way possible, please respond to this message, and send a reply

It was sent with a UCS flag attached..

The boats were dragged up on the beach they had landed upon, and hidden underneath rocks, sand and camoflauge netting, hiding them from view. Checking the coast was clear, the men proceeded to move up the shore, eventually reaching the wooded edges of the beach. In a small ditch, they dumped the crates, before loading up with whatever equipment they needed, before hiding the whole lot. A few quick words, then silence as they split up into their 6 seperate teams.

The first task for Team Bravo was to take out a major power station nearby, before moving on to other stations, hopefully cutting down the power output to the point the entire grid would collapse. For this, they had graphite bombs, to short out any circuitry they found at power stations. In case it was needed, a few wads of C4 were also provided. But they needed transport.

The car soon pulled away from where it was parked, having been opened using the universal key found lying nearby. Brushing broken glass from the seats, the men got in, before changing into civilian clothing, leaving their rucksacks in the trunk of the vehicle. Now they looked totally inconspicuous, save for the pistols in their belts and the rifles just under their seats. At least this team hadn't brought a missile launcher with them. That would have been fun...

"Yes i am the Leader Of the Black Storm Rebels, Commander Charlis Patric." He held out a hand for Cody to shake.

General Rochei Palista started to deploy more forces to the concrete bunkers around the Moriabian coasts. Around 20 Divisions were deployed into these structures.

Meanwhile President Jack Walker had ordered the Main Colstream Taskforce to prepare for Moriabia. Time to departure 2 days.

A local rebel unit heard the message and sent a reply.

To UCS.
We would like a small man team to land and help us destroy a bridge to slow the movement of troops.

The informant that they were looking for was currently in a Government Jail just 2 miles off the Western Coast. She had been severely beaten and had sustained several gashes on her forehead. The building was protected by Government Soldiers under orders to protect her at all costs.

The Alfegos team approached a checkpoint. As they approached, the sentry pulled his AK74 from his shoulder and tapped the left front drivers window with the barrel. He only looked around 20-21 years old. The team commander wound down the window. "Papers please" the sentry asked....

A booming voice came from the cockpit. "THIRTY SECONDS!"

"Alright lads get ready for rope down and remember, the second you touch down head to position alpha and take defensive positions."

"Aye aye sir." They all shouted.

The darkness sufficated the chopper. Ocean and land became one as they approached their drop zone.

"I hope to god the pilot knows where the sea is and the land. I can't see shit down there." Joked Johnson.

Those thirty seconds seemed like an eternity, but the welcoming green light signaled to the troops that they were clear to go. Each one leaped out of the chopper, decending fast down the lines. All that could be heard was the gently crashing of the waves on the shore, and the silent thud of each Soldier landing on the beach.

The F48 glided out of earshot and they were alone. Slowly they made their way up the beach. Making no sound. No breath. Just dead silence.

They crowded around the captain and awaited instructions.

"Right lads this is whats going to happen. A few clicks from here is the Village of Retare. We have intel that we can 'persade' a officer or two to tell us where they are keeping our informant. However, we know how wrong intel can be." The others chuckled and nodded. "So I want everyone on their guard. Any questions?"
"Yea." Whispered Brough "Can I kill the son of a bitch pilot who dropped me in the water?"
"I can't believe he actually did it." Quietly laughed Jenkins. "I paid him 5 Busby's to do it, but i never thought he would."
"Alright cut the chatter. Maybe we can find some local people to give you their high heels or something if your complain about getting your boots wet." The captain spoke sternly.
"Maybe if they have them in camo sir." Replied Brough

Smiling the captain ordered the 6 to move out. Tugging their night vision goggles over their eyes they silently moved towards the Village of Retare.

OOC: Sorry when ya said

"The informant that they were looking for was currently in a Government Jail just 2 miles off the Western Coast. She had been severely beaten and had sustained several gashes on her forehead. The building was protected by Government Soldiers under orders to protect her at all costs."

The window rolled down on the driver's side. In the back, the two men grabbed their rifles, balancing them on their knees pointed at the man standing outside, the carbine-sized AF-07Ps being very hard to notice underneath a blanket in the back.
"Hello mate. Papers you say?"
He reached into a bag beside him, and pulled out a piece of blank paper, before slamming it into the guard's face as part of a palm strike, leaving him to collapse backwards with a broken nose. There was a cough from one of the muffled rifles as three shots were fired off at the man's collapsed form on the side of the road, before they drove off at the same speed across the roadblock and off again, towards their target.

Echo and Foxtrot teams were working together as a section for an attack on a coastal emplacement, consisting of major anti-air and anti-sea missile batteries. Removing this would form a primary route for allowing in Colstreami and Alfegan forces to the island without attack. For this attack, they were loaded out with detonation packs and incendiaries: just what they needed for taking out the area. First for infiltration.

The man in charge, a captain, was busy lying concealed as a bush, whispering to his scout as they planned their attack. A few seconds later, more men joined them, having set up their plan. There was a nod, and the group split to move around the outer fence of the installation. The Captain gave a second nod to the engineer of the group, who took out a pair of wire-cutters and a small radio detonator. He scrolled through channels to the correct frequency, finally flicking up the trigger guard.

As the man then started cutting himself a hole in the razor-mesh fence, careful to avoid the sharp barbs of the tape that made up the barrier, a small LED started flashing on the underside of a small box hidden underneath a parked car just outside this security fence in the staff carpark, past the first checkpoint. It started flashing faster and faster, before finally disappearing in the blast of a 200g C4 explosive charge. The fuel tank ignited as the heat wave passed through it, turning the car into a second explosive. Car alarms were tirggered as the flaming pieces of metal fell down from the rising fireball, followed by shouts of guards. Just the diversion they needed as they rushed up, removing their camoflauge suits as they took cover behind a building on the other side, rifles raised. Text flickering across the eypiece of the Captain showed that he was using an enhanced-reality unit to locate pre-mapped points well before this task had begun, before the 2 hour briefing on the ekranoplan. He made a hand signal, for them to quickly cross the open path in front of them and to continue along the alloted route to the dual 3 dimensional RADAR emplacements located in a field atop a bunker. On the other side, a sudden darting motion of figues revealed them moving towards another bunker: here, there were 4 missile batteries lying flat on their launchers about a central magazine. Other bunkers nearby held naval missile cells. All were target for this sabotage attack.

The number of airships were slowly increasing on the maritime border of the island. As well as the small Aero-frigates that menacingly searched the skies and seas for naval vessels and aircraft, a pair of medium-szied craft were busy circling the area. One was a long-range sensorcraft, carrying a mobile RADAR unit with a range of 100km in addition to advanced cameras and detectors and a massive data processing unit, allowing it to map the skies over the entirity of this sinful country. The other was the one about to see the reaction of the government when it started its attack.
"This is Big Bird to Disco: prepare to deploy special effects."
"Commencing the party, over."
Though they sounded like they were talking absolute rubbish, the "special effects" about to be deployed were nothing to laugh at. A signal generator had started up, and was now flooding the entire airspace of the nation with false RADAR signatures of aircraft. To those on the coast, it would seem that thousands of aircraft had just appeared out of nowhere to commence an attack. Soon, the panic would start.

Over Moriabia's Capital Motria: 05:00 hours

The wail of air raid sirens filled the air. People began to run towards their shelters as the sky filled with 30 B52H and 20 Tu-160 "Blackjack" bombers heading for the nearby arms factory in the west of the city. Escorting them was 40 MIG-31 Foxhounds and 25 Su-37 Flankers. They approached the target unopposed and they released their bombs over the factory. Within minutes, the factory was totally destroyed and many buildings nearby was covered by a massive fire. As the bombers disappeared into the night. Fire crews began to fight the fire as the sky began to brighten.

At the same time, 30 F-22 Raptors began to bomb the railway lines heading towards the east of Moriabia.

The power station Bravo team had stopped at was a good-sized one. It appeared like it was powering the entire region. Just as well it was about to go down. The men opened the window as they drove past the main power outlet area, a maze of transformers and other electrical equipment joined by a tangle of ordered cables. Just asking for it really.

Multiple projectiles started arching from the windows, exploding before they landed on the ground. Hardly visable were the thousands of tiny graphite strands scattered over the area by each tiny explosion. What was visible though were the effects. There were loud explosions as units short circuited, melting in the intense currents, and large sparks from system boxes. Inside the power plant, alarms could be heard as crucial systems overloaded.

The team drove away, leaving small detonation packs at the base of the main pylons leaving the station. As the car moved onto the highway, a loud series of explosions were followed by blue-white flashes and the screech of twisting metal as the metal pylons collapsing, leaving the power cables sparking on the ground.

_____________________________________________________

As the panic across Moriabia spread, it was increased as the nation started to be crippled in its defences. At the coastal emplacement site, there were a series of explosions as the missile units were detroyed, followed by an even louder explosion as the missile magazines and cells were blown. Clouds of smoke billowed from the area as the figures made their getaway from the area, to their final rendez-vous points. Then it was to collect more explosives and move onto the next target: the capital city.

As the Alfegos team relayed the message that they were heading to the Capital, the second wave landed on the 4 beaches. This was made up of the support services such as medical and logistical equipment. The wounded were being evacuated from the beaches as more troops moved up towards the front

Also Gretban Air Base and Retrean Air Base both 14 Miles Inland had been captured and Colstream Air Force Fighters and Bombers had landed with their support equipment aboard C130H Hercules and C-17Globemaster II Transports which were also landing fresh soldiers and supplies.

The Bridgehead was now 15 Miles inland with reinforcements pouring from the ships offshore. The reinforcements had total air cover and the Moriabian Air Force had not even attacked the bridgehead once so far.

10:00 hours

A Moriabian counterattck was suddenly launched with 20,000 Soldiers and 120 T-64 MBTs supporting it. They struck the Northern Sector of the front causing units in the other sectors to hold their positions.

Several "Vampire Class" Destroyers had moved to the North Coast firing onto Moriabian Positions attacking the Northern side of the Colstream Bridgehead causing heavy losses. 14 Inch AP Shells landed on the badly armored T-64s blowing them apart. 22 MS2 Panther MBTs attacked using Concrete Fuse Shells smashing Tank after Tank severely blunting the Moriabian attack. 300 Moriabian Soldiers were killed and 430 Injured. As that was occuring, the Colstream Army counterattacked with 60 T-80B MBTs supported by 30,000 Soldiers and A-10 Thunderbolt Attack Aircraft smashing into the weak Moriabian forces. They forced them back to their start positions killing another 400 and injuring 650. They were authorised to push on creating a 4 mile salient in the lines which was quickly reinforced by 20,000 more Soldiers and 40 MS2 Panther MBTs. 300 Colstream Soldiers were killed with 500 wounded, 260 Seriously.

The TV station in the capital city was just about to find itself under attack, again by the distraction approach. In this case, using their own safety systems against them.
Three of the men were waiting in the alleyway as the fourth man returned from a nearby maintenance area door. He tossed a piece of circuit board into the drift of rubbish next to the massive bins, as a fire alarm started in the building behind him.
"Excellent work, Kha'soi. Let's get to work."
Inisde the TV building, they passed un-noticed through the service areas, away from the main fire escape areas, until they reached the control station. It had been left running recorded programmes, not live ones. Excellent for now.
Half a minute later, the three men were starting to lock the building down, using the security headquarters downstairs to lock all the doors and windows, and set the alarms. With everyone locked out, the message they were broadcasting would be un-interrupted. The fourth man smiled as he finished fiddling with controls, lights flashing from where he had uplinked a large hard-disc unit. The device whirred and crackled as it started broadcasting the data now appearing on the screens around him, on most of the TV channels across the region.

_________________________________________________________

"Good Morning, citizens of Moriabia. This is a broadcast against the current practices of your government."
Onto the screens across the nations, video footage started to appear, along with photographs. Of mass shootings recorded by UAV. Of satellite footage of beatings, of torture wrought upon dissidents.
"What you see before you is the pure, undiluted truth. What your government does not want you to see. And what is happening right now to those who fight for your freedoms. You have been oppressed to the point you are dumb, fearful slaves to a foul purpose. Do you not see what is happening? Revolt against your government now, and support inbound international forces to help you win your rights as humans."
The screen cut out to black, before a final message appeared.
"Thankyou for listening."

The screen stopped, before being replaced by the flag of the rebel movement, as the broadcast prepared to loop itself.

____________________________________________

"Moving to final stage of electronic warfare in 20 seconds. Begin to deploy the airship detachments to take the capital and begin mass bombings."
Stage 3 enacted a nation's worst fears. Whatever sensor stations were still working would detect what appeared to be 6 inbound ICBMs, in addition to the false naval fleeet signatures evaporating.

As the signal pulsed across the nation, 5 airships started moving forwards in an arrowhead formation: a pair of aero-frigates on the wings of the formation enclosed a pair of aero-dropcraft and an aero-cruiser. All ready to wreak havoc on their way to the nation's capital. They passed over into Moriabian lands, and commenced the attack. Missiles started spouting from the aero-cruiser at targets not yet taken down, whilst the aero-frigates let off a total of 4 long missiles: Rainbow SAMs modified for airships. Each had a long range, and was designated to attack whatever enemy aircraft were in the air nearby, heading off any attack. The craft slowly moved towards the land, pricks of fire trailing from them as they commenced their attack.

As the night grew darker and the world became dead the village of Retare came into view. Still comsumed with darkness, only the odd building could be seen. The squad gathered around a small clearing and eagerly awaited the captains instructions.

"Ok lads. This little beauty here is the village of Retare. Only one of you will be coming with me in. Jenkins, thanks for volunteering." The captain smirked as Jenkins sighed.
"Our objective is to meet up with a rebel sympathizer. He will tell us the location of the people we need to chat to, to find our informant. Everyone else, stay at this location. Dawn is in a couple of hours so i want you to keep your heads down. If we're not back before dawn. Theres a good chance we've been caught. If thats the case continue with the mission." The captain's eyes store right through each of the squad members. "Right any questions?"

"No sir!" They all replied.

Loading his rifle, the captain waved for Jenkins to follow. "Come on Jenkins, let have a nice romantic walk."
"Oh and i didn't get you anything captain." Jenkins joked.

After awhile the village became a stones throw away. The captain and Jenkins, laid still in some long grass, examining the village.

"So where is this rebel we're suppost to meet." Jenkins asked.
"You see that building two o'clock?" Jenkins peered through the nightvision goggles and zoomed in on the building. "Apparantly thats where we're to meet him. I don't trust armies without a structure. Its one order away from complete chaos." The captain replied. "He should be here soon. Keep a sharp look out when we meet him. If our cover is blown, don't hesitate to pop the rebel and retreat back to point beta. The last thing we need is for the government to know we're here."
"Will do captain." Jenkins said awkwardly.

To Alfegos:

Sorry to spoil your fun, but the Colstream Government does not want the ICBMs to impact the capital. Also the Capital is a no go target unless it is against factories or radar posts as this is not a war of destruction. This is a campaign to liberate the Moriabian People. Please call off the attack before innocents get hurt. The Moriabian Capital is now a Code Black area. Clearance must be sought from the Colstream Commander, General Jack Mirages before any aircraft can enter the capitals airspace. Commando incursions are ok as long they are aginst military targets.

OOC: The area is Forest with Normal Military Buildings.

In the north, 200 Tanks and 230,000 Soldiers assualted towards the fortress town of Lartrea, Moriabia's Second City on the Northern Coast. The advancing forces simply bypassed the city and just detached some forces to subdue it and continued to move westward. Cody signaled everyone to stop, and grabbed his binoculars from a pouch on his vest. Cody radioed the rebels go into the left in the woods and take cover while covering the bridge, he then commanded Bravo team to stay hidden in the ditch while he and Alpha team went to the right into the woods. Meanwhile. the Colstream Special Forces team had moved ahead of the Colstream Advance and had arrived at a Ballistic Missile Complex near the town of Dretaz. Several silos had been opened revealing several SE-7C ICBMs. As they crawled forward. A loudspeaker suddenly switched on. "Attention all personnel. The missiles target is Ashland. Time to countdown, 12 minutes and counting."
As they looked at each other, a soldier came close to them. One soldier pulled out a silenced H&K P7K3 and fired at the soldiers head as he walked past. Another Commando pulled the soldier into the ditch they were in and took the AK-74 from him. The Commander of the Patrol, Nick suddenly spoke."Jack, i want you to set those charges on each of the silos. "Ok." Jack replied.
5 Minutes later he came back. "Charges placed sir." "Good work. Lets move out." They moved back slowly to their start point. As they moved away, the charges exploded with extreme force. 12 20,000lb warheads exploded totally destroying the complex and the silos. As they withdrew to the Colstream Lines their job done, a huge cloud of smoke enveloped the night Sky.

Hours past. Wildlife started to come alive with birds tweeting with joy. The scurrying sound of rabbits running through the fresh green grass, and the sweet pure smell of the new morning whifting around the air. Dawn would be in an hour or so, and lying silent and still in the long grass, the Captain and Jenkins patiently waited. Staring at the building where they would meet the rebel.

"I hope they haven't forgotten." Jenkins whispered "They might of, you know with their country being ripped apart from the inside out."
"I'll rip them up from the inside out if they have." Grunted the Captain.

A few minutes past when a lone figure appeared. He seemed to be constantly checking behind his back and around him. Nervously shuffling behind the building.

"I think our man is here Jenkins." The captain nudged.
"Either that or someone thats being stalked. I've never seen anyone look so nervous. If any guards saw him like that, we're screwed." Jenkins replied
"We better head moving. Come on."

Silently they lifted themselves off the ground. Their muscles aching from lying in one position for long hours and proceeded to the building.

The man nervously rocked forward and back, his hands dancing with one another, desperatly trying to keep his whole body from shaking. He paced back and forth until a sharp voice from behind said "FREEZE." It was the Captain and Jenkins.

Jones saw the smoke clear, the tank unaffected but several soldiers killed by the ricochet. Jones yelled angrily "Damn it! That tanks is still moving, ok guys open up on the guys behind that tank!", Jones spoke into the radio to the rebels on the opposite side. Suddenly another tank round slammed just next to Jones as he was in the ditch, 3 more soldiers were wounded and 1 died. The rebels opened up on the soldiers around the tank and the MG3 gunner. The M60 gunner concentrated on the soldiers advancing forward of the tank, searching for Alpha team. Another soldier dragged Cody into the back of the 5-ton truck, a medic caring to his wounds, what mostly appeared to be shrapnel from nearby wood and shell stuck in his leg and a concussion. The other two soldiers had been killed, they're bodies in the woods, they hoped they could recover them after the battle, if they made it. Jones and the remaining 2 of the team crouched down in the ditch, Jones moved behind the 5-ton truck. The other two soldiers then configured a satchel charge and threw it at the tracks of the tank, hoping to disable it. One of the rebels ignited a Molotov Cocktail and threw it on the top of the tank. "2 Minutes!" the radioman shouted from behind the 5-ton truck, notifying the team of the incoming Harriers.

Darrel Straights Naval Base - Second Oceanic Fleet
13:42 Local Time

She was just over a hundred metres long, in very dark grey all over, with the waterline indicated by a thin red line across her length. A Kamrksberg-Class SSN, she made up just some of the fleet's strength.

Her captain was Haarland, one of the many men in such posts, and was experienced, to say the least.
He looked down onto the docks.

There was a hive of activity. The 2nd Oceanic Fleet had, in effect, been 'scrambled' in sheer record time and his crew were still arriving now, in truckloads. Mainly clutching pictures of loved ones, big kitbags, and the occasional bottle of beer.
The familial tensions never surpassed many of these men, quite a few were single for the first time since before they got married and many more divorces would come.

Yet they were doing their duty, united and strong as ever. Out at sea, everyone was one family.
He thought this as he watched the hurriedness all around him.

A 24-inch torpedo was being loaded into tube 7, one of the eight bow tubes, and the six amidships VLS were equipped with anti-surface cruise missiles.

The mission was a doozie - not exactly challenging, Antigr was, after all, a great naval power, maybe one of the best, but every campaign brought danger, every venture brought risk.
The intelligence officer had said little, but he'd made clear where they were going and why - something about crushing rebellious imperialist swine.

He was on his way to the coastline of a small, strange country, the type nobody has ever heard of.
Mori-ia or something. Whatever.

The operation was fairkly immense. Above the atmosphere were two Antigran sattelites, one nearing the end of it's visual range over Moriabia, and the other just coming over it. There were more to take over, giving a constant eye very high up in the sky.

Three and a Half Hours Later

"Port turbine, slow ahead"

He heard the rise in the soft whirring sound as the port turbine and shaft gained revolutions and the sub began to clear the docks.

"Both turbines, slow ahead together"

To Haarland's right was an Ärensen-Class Destroyer beginning to make speed, and the immense shadow to his right belonged to a three-hundred-metre fleet carrier. He wondered what naval opposition he would face, if at all.
Now, he had to phone his wife and tell her where he was.

OOC: Even though the Southern Front is 20 miles from their capital, they still have over 2 Million around and west of the Capital with around 1 million in the front line.

The Moriabian Government had been evacuated from Mortia to an undisclosed location way behind the front on the morning of the 3rd May. This was because of Commando Raids (also because i want the Rp to be long) and constant bombing raids. 2 million Soldiers and over 1000 Tanks still remained in the unoccupied Western and Central Moriabia. Stalemate at the front had bought enough time for most of it to go into underground bunkers, tunnels and fortifications as a strategic reserve.

The crew saw the Molotov Cocktail coming and closed the hatch. The cocktail exploded on the hatch but failed to penetrate. The satchel charge exploded smashing the tracks but failed to disable the gun. The heavy gunfire cut down the MG3 Gunner and the soldiers moving in front of the tank. A Moriabian Soldier running behind the tank got caught by the Molotov Cocktail and fell of the bridge into the River.

(OOC: Sorry Antigr... it's just that I go for the blitzkrieg tactic that aims to take a country in a few days. I'll try to restrain myself...)

"Starting targeting sequences on the enemy lines: looks like they're going to have a field day."

The airship formation were now gradually approaching the front line of the Colstreami attack. From here, they were already tuning into the Colstream radio network.

"This is command to Big Bird: prepare to clear areas for Colstream NBC troops to advance through enemy lines. You have authorisation to use band-class chemical agents against their position. Targets are near the front-line area, to clear a channel to the capital city. Uploading them now."

The enhanced reality view of the airship started pointing out areas marked with purple bands, information floating by the central marker icons. The weapons system controller typed in a provided authorisation code, before selecting the units from the missile bay to be fired. Finally, the fire controls were hit.
4 bulbous missiles broke free from their cells, before gliding down towards the targets. At height, their casings split, allowing for thousands of bomblets to hit the ground below. Each was marked with a pair of red bands, and on impact let out a large cloud of gas that gradually faded. The identification bands on the bomblets showed they held a mix of mustard gas, agent MR-2 and lewisite. Long lasting, and dangerous to those who were either caught up in the gas spray or entered the area for the next week. Those affected would start choking and be blinded followed hours later by blisters blossoming across their exposed skin. If not treated quickly enough or exposed to too much gas, they would die of poisoning or lung damage, or be blinded. Enough to keep a large area clear for protected Colstreami soldiers to cross. The band affected was about 1 mile wide and 12 miles long: enough to provide space for a fast advance.

Many Moriabian Soldiers, taken suprise by the attack, began to suffer from the gas. Many began to die while many lay affected by the toxic cloud. Enraged at the attack, several Moriabian Missile Launchers were aimed at the airship formation and they opned fire. Even several unaffected soldiers fire RPG-7 Rockets at the Gondolas in a feeble attempt to bring one down.
The Moriabian battteries behind their lines also fired Chlorine Gas at the Colstream Lines. The Colstream Soldiers however had gas masks to hand and there was no reported casualties.
The Colstream Guns retaliated using X1 (A mixture of Mustard Gas and Chlorine Gas) Shells at the batteries themselves. The crews began to die as soon as the shells exploded. Within Minutes however, the gas evaporated into the air. However, reinforcements prevented a breakthrough for the moment but the line was severely weakened.

"Inbound AA missiles."
"Not a problem at all. Just let the automated systems take care of it."

The SAMs inbound were easily dealt with: any that managed to find the airship amid a haze of electronic decoys was subject to the aero-frigates' weaponry: point defence cannons opened up, shooting the missiles from the sky. The couple that managed to even get past that were taken out by Hailstorm units, detonating the warheads clear of the gasbags.

From below a pair of RPGs moved inwards towards the airship. The soldiers though hadn't realised that the missiles they had fired only had limited ranges: 920 metres. At a cruising altitude of 2000 metres, the missiles self-destructed harmlessly below them. A few cluster missiles cleared areas where the AA vehicles had been, as the airships continued onwards towards their target.

A massive splash of seawater rose up from the sea as a cruise missile broke the surface from below, accelerating upwards.
The water had not even subsided before another broke the surface, and then two more.

They were land-attack cruise missiles, packed with conventional warheads, although each packed almost a tonne of high explosive.

They were aimed at the landing beaches, more specifically, at any enemy fortification or position visible from the satellite.
Roughly 24 hours later, after a long and morally depressing, lethal bombardment, the Marines would land.

MILITARY INTEL ON WESTERN COAST.

The Moriabian West Coast is mainly cliffs overlooking the beaches with 2 roads leading in and out. They are guarded by Heavy Machine Gun and Missile Launchers. There is a trench system on top of the cliffs housing more pillboxes and bunkers designed to command the beaches and their approaches. Around 1000 Soldiers guard the fortifications around the beaches. Hewtra which is the main city nearby is a vital objective which would have to be taken on the first day as 8 roads lead into the city which is a good route for Enemy Armor and Mechanised Infantry. It will also help you advance due to the fact that east of Hewtra is open countryside until you reach 10 miles inland where a huge defensive line running the whole length of the Western Coast consisting of Bunkers, Tank Ditches, Minefields and deep trenches. All of this is on higher ground overlooking the western countryside. It is home to around 3000-5000 Soldiers and has enough ammunition to hold out for 6 weeks. This is the biggest fortifications they have. When you breach the beach defensive lines, the Moriabian Army will withdraw to this Defensive Line so if your forces fail to destroy the forces before you reach there, you will face up to 6000 Soldiers. Good Luck.

We are facing the duplicate of that on the Eastern Side protecting the Capital Mortia. So far, we haven't breached it but will attempt an offensive as soon as your troops land so to prevent reinforcements coming west.

The Antigran Missiles began to impact on the defensive line. AA Batteries began to fire in an attempt to shoot them down but most landed on their targets. Luckily for them, the Missiles had failed to hit their generators which was powering the smoke screen which they would use to prevent shelling when they spotted the ships coming. The "Western "Rochei Palista" Line would be tested just like its Eastern One would.

"Nearly there men! Commence bombardment of military installations in and about the capital. Gatecrasher, proceed to rendez-vous via main airport. Give them a little treat."

The Aerocruiser, the AAS Thunder, slowed down to a halt just on the edge of the urabn sprawl that was the capital. Down below, the alarms would be starting as they realised they were about to get the Hervia treatment.

"Using a maximum of 1/4 of airship arsenal, commence firing!"

The airship missile gondola appeared to explode in a cloud of billowing smoke as the missile launches began almost similtaneously. Trails of fire and smoke shot across the sky all around, leaving a slwoly-expanding white marker trail leading back to the monstrous craft. At the same time, it began strafing a nearby airfield with the underside autocannon, small flashes flickering up accompanied by explosions whenever the rounds it spewed it hit an explosive target.

The aerodropcraft was the AAS Gatecrasher: as it came down across the city, decreasing to a very low altitude, the firing from the onboard guns began. The craft carried 2x 80mm howitzers and a 35mm autocannon aboard, which it used to fire at the international airport it flew over, aiming for the runways and then at the control tower and RADAR installations. Inside, the 76 aeromarines moved to the drop zone, standing amongst pallets of supplies, equipment and explosives as they prepared to be deployed.

______________________________________________

Inside the centre of the city, the 24 ADF special force soldiers converged on the central government building, entering as all attention was fixed on the inbound aircraft fleet. They were tasked with taking the building and capturing as their hostages as many high-ranking figures as possible. Hopefully, the dictator himself. While 8 men satyed outside in wait, aiming at windows and at the entrances, the other 16 moved inside. A few moments passed, followed by shouts, gunfire and alarms. The attack on the government had begun.

The Dictator Moriabia, General Rochei Palista is in the Central Government Buildingafter being moved a few days ago. The Moribian Government has been moved into a bunker inside the Capital guarded by a few thousand soldiers. However, the Propaganda Ministry and Foreign Office is still in the building you are raiding. You will gain many High Ranking Officials but not the dicator. That will be our job to find him. When he is captured he and his government will be taken to the Colstream Mainland to be tried for War Crimes.
By the way. now you will have at least 1 Million Soldiers and their armor coming to kill your forces.

A loudspeaker suddenly crackled into life. "Gentlemen. You have no way of escape. We have the building surrounded. 1 Million Men plus another 800,000 seperate you from your nearest friendly units. Surrender and live, or keep fighting and die where you stand!!!"

Meanwhile at Mortia International Airport, the Moriabian Army had deployed AA Launchers in an attempt to down the Airships. Also the bunkers in the airport had opened up a terrible barrage.

"Ha! They think we have a problem?"

The Gatecrasher opened it's payload doors, allowing a few pallets to fall. Each broke away to reveal the GBU-2A heavy bombs recently aquired from Layertb. Just what they needed to clear the airport. One exploded as it hit optimum altitude, the 25 tonnes of explosives in it's shell flattening an area about 400m in radius. The second detonated, another shockwave shaking the airship.

Nearby, the few AA missiles that had managed to take off were busy being shot at, destroyed or being diverted away. As a bunker-buster missile from the AAS Thunder came arching towards a surviving bunker, one of the missiles launched actually defested the odds: it scored a hit.
There was a deafeneing roar as the missile detonated on impact with the side of one of the escort aerofrigates, ripping a hole in its side. Underneath, it exposed many more layers of cells, showing the bunker crew on the ground that they had hardly wounded this comparatively miniscule airship. A second one sunk into its other side, more clouds of smoke eminating from the impact as the airship slowly started descending, conserving height by pumping out as much air ballast as possible while moving into the reserve tanks of helium lifting gas. So far, not a shot had scored a hit on the hydrogen core, hidden beneath layers of cells now exposed at the bottom of the impact wounds of these "Heavy" anti-squadron AA missiles.

The aerodropcraft moved on from the smoking remains of the airport and its surrounding buildings, aircraft, roads and suburbs, coming towards the central government building as it dropped in altitude. At the same time, it began shelling the government building.

The AAS Thunder on the other hand had a lovely treat for the soldiers advancing back on the city. They'd called in the Pyromaniac bomber squadron, posted at Ge'fegos after Hervia. And the Pyromaniacs were coming in now to perform tactic number 29: trailblazer. Coming in towards the capital, they began unleashing their payloads: napalm and incendiary cluster bombs. Their targets? Every road and rail line they could find going itno the city. The 16 bombers let loose streams of fire from their craft as they circled the AAS thunder, letting off jets of flame from onboard devices in shows of strength, before moving in on the roads. Anything on them would be incinerated, completely and utterly. Anything else coming would find buckled rail-lines, collapsed bridges and half-molten roads, burnt down to their slag bases. Enough to buy them time in shutting out the Moriabia military from the capital.
Any un-used incendiaries were dumped as the bombers flew away. Onto the enemy soldiers.
__________________________________________

Inside the governmental building, the gunfire now was even more fearful: the building was being slowly reduced to rubble, starting from the top downwards. The ADF forces just waited to the side of the buidling, watching the people sprint outwards away from the structure. Into their encircling trap. With men in the building clearing out safes and grabbing whatever documentantion or hard drives they could find, the rest had moved outside to perform a search of all the retreating people. And to stop any thinking about getting away, oen man could be easily seen above them on a rooftop holding an AAT-87 missile launcher, the missile visable in the barrel. One false move, they'd all be blown to pieces.

As they let lesser workers leave, they were left with the mroe important men. The ones who would be loaded onto the fast-approaching aerodropcraft, once it'd delivered its cargo over the city.

Marine Landing Force - Antigran 2nd and 5th Oceanic Fleets

He slammed the 30-round magazine into the breech of the SeG-77 one last time. He'd assembled and dissasembled and cleaned and recleaned it many times, for the hours were long, tedious, and tense.

It made a firm engaging sound and he cocked it, then flicked the selector switch to the [S] for safety.
He glanced down at his watch. Coming up to six in the morning. Dawn - what were they thinking? The landing of several divisions of Royal Marines wasn't discreet, and D-Day and it's era were over. Oh well. A bit too late to scive now.

"Atten-tion!"

It was the Sergeant-Major. He put the assault rifle down and saluted for the officer. The officer was, surprise-surprise, General Sandrez. This was definately not the first time this man had been deployed overseas, and not the first time he'd been deployed in support of Colstream military operations.

The four stars on his broad shoulders glinted under the warm yellow bunkhead light.

"You men all get something to eat?"

A chorus of yes' rang out.

"Good. Now, this operation will be similar to the Hendriks Field landings, for those of you which can remember. The enemy is well-placed and fortified, although many of these emplacements will have been taken out. I know, from aerial reconnaisance, that many missile batteries were taken out but the probability is that some remain.

Were are coming into range of the shorter-range, more mobile, surface-to-surface missiles. As you may hear, our aircraft are taking off in bulk to defend the fleet further and destroy remaining beachead and inland targets. Get some rest, you'll need it. Good luck, men"

(ooc: I try to use English... seems that I have overtaken you. Not to worry though: call in air support whenever you like, and expect spectacular responses, since an entire Aerofleet is parked outside Moriabia.)

"Get the Colstreami forces to the edge of the city now! And take out whatever armour was not got by the bombers."

The high-ranking officials were hustled to the front of a buidling as thestreet nearby tore itself to pieces: an airship was strafing the street. Screams and explosions rang out as the aerodropcraft sank lower over the square. The Colstreami forces were yelled at to take cover around the cordon as the rear of the gondola opened up. A wall of gunfire confronted an entire street as a ramp was lowered, the officials being thrown up into the airship as the aeromarines landing. Now on the ground, there was a roar as the airship took off again, followed by the explosion of a cannon destroying a nearby building. The aeromarines took cover in the nearby buildings as the airship rapidly rose in altitude, another shot sending a church spire spinning into a street below. The aeromarines moved from the governmental headquarters into the sewers as quickly as they could, disappearing from the streets, taking whatever Colstreamis would follow with them. Including a commander.

"Good afternoon. It's great how you always seem to find me at a bad time. You may have noticed we are slightly busy."
He paused to fire down the pipe they were in, screams eminating from further down. Next to him, a man was busy coating the roof with what appeared to be some sort of putty, a small vial stuck into it. He gave it a shake, before running. 5 seconds later, the roof of the pipe came down, blocking fof the Moriabian forces.
"If your men want to be any help, they can help by taking out whatever major installations tehre are in the area. Power staions, industry, rail intersections... whatever you can do will help. We'll just be busy cleaning up their forces, and the airships above will be send the Moriabians a little present every now and then."
They began moving down the pipeline, illumination provided by the pilot light of a flamethrower.

Smaller calibre shells began to land amongst them cutting the wire and setting off the minefield in front of them.

Then the first soldiers left their trenches followed by 70 MS2 Panthers and 180 BTR-90 APCs. Hundreds of Aircraft flew over covering them from attack. As they reached the enemy front line some soldiers fell but they kept advancing. The enemy line was breached as they swung northwards towards the port of Samester. Simultaneously a heavily armored force smashed through the northern part of the defensive line heading towards the eastern outskirts of Samester.

A man-hole cover moved slightly as a man peered out with a small periscope. They were coming, just as planned. He ducked down, leaving the radio beacon to pulse on top of the manhole cover. He splashed down into the putrid waters of the sewer, head narrowly missing the trap put in place for the road above. A thin cable lead form an above-surface laser-trip mechanism to a pile of artillery shells looted from a site raided earlier. 12x 80mm howitzer shells, attached to a wad of the putty. C1 explosive, for anyone who asked.

The 8 men sprinted away from the site, pressing the arm button as they left. Above them, the curious soldiers and vehicles would have moved in to attack the area, thinking they'd found a dropped vehicle or the elusive Alfegan enemy. One tripped the detonator above.
The men ducked into a side tunnel as the shockwave roared past them, shaking dust and shattering tiles.

"Right, now I'm gonna take a break. Can you remember the way back to the platoon harbour?"
"I've got a map here."
One man produced a map of the sewer network they had been issued with prior to the drop, and illuminated it with a tritium lamp.
"Next left, then along the electrical maintenance lines. Excellent."

The 16 Colstream Air Force Airships approached the Moriabian Port of Samester and began to pound the outer defenses into rubble. At the same time, 200,000 Soldiers supported by 350 Tanks of different types began to advance through the devastation.

Meanwhile, the Colstream Special Forces team led by Captain Adam Jackson had destroyed around 10 tanks and had killed around 80 enemy soldiers. They then moved through the rubble towards where the dictator General Roche Pallista was thought to be. They now had to wait for the Alfegos team to arrive...

"Clearance sale! Everything MUST go!"

8 of the ASF team stood on the edge of the airship ramp, ready to parachute down to the area where the bunker was known to be. First, though, their special delivery. A support man ran over to a control board on the side, and pulled a few levers. Another pallet holding a GBU unit slid from the rear of the airship, splitting as it fell to earth. Seconds later, the shockwave threw the airship about as it flattened the area about the bunker, probably doing a decent amount of damage to the bunker as well as removing any danger.

"Now tell the Colstreamis to move in: tell them to do the bunker overrun while we blow the doors down."

They lept from the airship, followed by a pallet of explosives. Hitting the smoking ground, they flicked to low-visibility goggles before sprinting over to the bunker entrance: they knew nothing would be alive in the area. Soon, they broke through the outer doors with a door-breecher, finally arriving at the blast door. From the landed pallet, they began withdrawing explosive putty and main charges, before slowly placing them about the door: they were going to blow a hole through the top and sides, leaving it to fall in.
Reels of timer detonator tape were moved in, stuck on top of the layers of putty and shaped-charge tubes about the door. Large aluminium cylinders now linked by a complex network of detonation tubing. A number of cables led to a radio unit flashing on the top of the explosives.

The ushered the Colstreamis to cover as they pressed the detonator button.

The explosion blew the door inwards and the Colstream Soldiers moved in. Several Flashbangs and Concussion Grenades were thrown into every room they could find nearest to the door. They then started to penetrate deeper into the bunker.....

Meanwhile, the southern front suddenly erupted into flame as the second stage of the Colstream attack smashed into the southern sector of the eastern defensive line. 300,000 Soldiers, 800 Tanks, 950 APCs and 180 Self Propelled Guns started to move westward. The drive towards the Moriabian Capital had begun.

OOC:

I have a real problem keeping up with you guys...only get on the PC once a day.

And what the hell is the Colstream denonym? I've heard four different variations used.

IC:

"Foxtrot flight, check in, over"

A chorus of acknowledgements greeted the Wing Commander's ears.
His DD80 multirole fighter, the 'Förtrupp' (Vanguard), equipped the majority of all Antigran naval and land air forces and wasn't the most well-armed of aircraft. However, it was one of the entire world's fastest and most maneuverable aircraft. It was designed to win a knife-fight in a Phone-Box and did, admittedly, carry some array of armaments -

Twin Öten 25mm cannons under his nose and several AAMs, as well as two long-range drop-tanks.

"Foxtrot Flight, Foxtrot Actual, assume patrol in sector twelve. We've got Alfegosian airships for company at some point, over"

"It's the bloody Hindenburg all over again! 'Cept with 1950-mph fighters...over"

"Cut it out, Fredrik. Over"

---

One of the fleet's helicopters went up with one of the admirals and Sandrez on board - they hoped that they could meet the commander of the A.A.S. Shurikan over a bottle of brandy, and discuss what was going to happen.

It was easier discussing over the radio, but hey, traditions. Although he may have a problem leaping the gap from the airship to the 'copter...

The AAS Shuriken moved in at the head of a trailing formation, slowly swinging into a long line off the shoreline. Floating at 1500m, all were heavily laden with armaments, an auxilliary airship moving between the fore-most craft and loading them up with final munitions from the underside, before hovering off.

The helicopter moving towards the Shurikan carrying the officials aboard was going to pose a problem: most airships were not designed to pick up other aircraft or helicopters, save for the extremely rare airborne carrier craft. But they had a solution.
"Antigr helicopter, please move to hover above the highest-level gantry you can see on the airship, on the port side. We'll mark the area with a flare."
A purple flare began smoking on the side of the airship, where a pair of the engineers were waiting, beckoning in the helicopter.

__________________________________________

The ASF section lurked in cover around the bunker area as the aerodropcraft moved about overhead, the occasional shell smashing into the city, parts now smoking ruins from continual bombardment.

Beneath their feet, the Aeromarines moved through the sewer systems from target to target, two sections per platoon at a time. The others hid in platoon harbours set up away from the sewer lines: maintenance tunnels for underground conduits or railways, hidden well inside these hidden areas. At one of these, the aeromarine Captain was busy moving the sections about, with reference to a virtual map on a laptop he had carried in. Updates constantly came in of enemy and allied movements: from up in the air, the airships could see all the Moriabians, yet they couldn't see the aeromarines beneath their feet. And if they decided to come down here, they'd soon find traps had been set everywhere.

In the distance, there was the quiet rumple of another IED going off underneath a street.

"Roger, Shurikan, moving to port gantry. Over"

The two engineers tied the skids of the helicopter to the side of the airship gantry with a thick length of cable, extinguishing the smoke flares and throwing them overboard. One reached up to help out the officials leving the helicopter, making sure they made it safely from the helicopter to the plastic gantry. Once all were off, they undid the slipknots they had tied, allowing the helicopter to move off away from the airship.

"Welcome aboard the AAS Shuriken! If you would just follow me, I'll take you to the control gondola."

The two engineers led the men along the gantry, before descending a ladder into the inside of the airship. Hundreds of massive plastic cells rustled as they moved down, until they reached the bottom-most gantry. Here, a trapdoor in the gantry was opened to reveal the warm interior of the control gondola.

Inside the gondola, a narrow passage led past two rooms into the main bridge area: an open-plan area with 6 positions along the side walls and wide dome of the front of the gondola. In the centre, a large complex of screens, wires and keyboards neatly arranged was sat in front of by the Taskforce Commander. He swivelled around in his, chair, back of his head illuminated by the glow from a screen displaying a sector map.
"Greetings, gentlemen. I hope you did not find the trip to this sanctuary too tiring? Anyhow, I am Taskforce Commander Hjlan'kos Hklan'pros. Hoepfulyl not too much of a mouthful. And the men and women surrounding you are the crew of this craft. Sorry there is very little space here, but I am sure we can find you seating."
One of the engineers brought out some fold-up chairs, setting them in front of him. He unfolded a small table in between them, placing on it some battered mugs filled with something resembling muddy water.
"You could've done better for our guests, Ul'soi! Go get the good mugs, and take the tea bags from my personal tin. I do apologise gentlemen."
A few moments later, a rather fearful-looking engineer placed down clean enamel mugs on the table, with much more palatable fluid swirling in it.
"I apologise again gentlemen, but the very limited space allocated to us on the airship means that, all important equipment included, we have precious space for luxuries. Plus they do keep putting in the ration packs that awful stuff they call tea.

Anyhow, to the landings: we shall need to discuss tactics regarding our support from up here. Currently, we're tracking a few hundred targets on this airship alone, and are still getting the occasioanl blip from the sensorcraft saying they've got a limited airforce. But with the electronic smog and sabotage operations we have done, I think the odds are extremely in your favour."

Sandrez spoke first.

"Ah, tea. I'll drink anything remotely resembling it, I haven't had a decent cuppa in two weeks, thanks very much.

I'm afraid I never could get the hang of Alfegan names. However, Hjlan'kos is the name of one of my good Alfegan friends, so I think I can handle it, if you don't mind me using your first name, sir.

On the front of our fleet and invasion plans;
We have three complete divisions of Marines, one of them armoured, the other two standard Marine.

We have an Air Cavalry Regiment, integrated logisitcs and engineers to sustain ourselves, or course, medical services for each unit, as well as some SSD detachments. That's Special Services Directive, kind of the half-way point between the ever-famous SAS and more 'common' Special Forces.
Lucky to have them, I assure you the can make use of themselves.

We plan for the classic D-Day job, just waltz up to the shore under a massive artillery barrage, cut the guns when the marines are on the beach, and storm.
First armour on the beach will be the Marine vehicles, mostly the sort with the impossible-to-remember name...amphibious, can do about 30 knots in the water and a bit faster on the beaches.
Some missiles and some cannon on there and the latest armour, at least some should make it on to the beach.

If I'm not mistaken, you'll have heard some jets whizz by this ship earlier, they're ours, carrying out bombing missions.

First on land will be Air Cavalry units dropped about a mile or so inland - no more, we're a bit cautious nowadays - which will clear the area and cut off reinforcements.

Some airships will be ever-useful, overhead firepower that our choppers just don't have.

I'd like the majority of you to come and help us, if you can, on the beaches although some backup for the helicopters and Air-Cav would be much appreciated.

We should have our heavy guns on the beach in the first ten minutes, that's SLRA batteries and SPGs of up to 8inch calibre, which should be able to help.

We've got new tanks that are supposed to be nary unstoppable, although I wouldn't bet on it. Your opinions?"

"Sounds like an excellent plan, as long as you're sure the beachs and long-range artillery is out of the picture. If they've got anything like that, you're landing's gonna be buggered. Now, I think they already know about the landings, because I've seen troops moving into the areas you've bombarded. Not just local: we're talking about units coming in from all available areas. So the mobile artillery and mechanised infantry will pose your greatest problem.

You'll need to strike swiftly and establish a good beach-head as rapidly as possible. As in, you need to get off the beach within 10 minutes at least, or that mobile force will provide you with no end of problems. Which is why we've divided the Taskforce into a 3-wave group. The first wave will be in range in about 30 seconds with all conventional weaponry. Once they're ready... well... the beach is gonna provide a lot more cover. They'll move on to clearing a path for all your infantry. I think the auxilliary airship might even be able to drop you off a few crates of supplies for your men if they really need something.

The 2nd wave will start an attack within 2 minutes, cutting off all transport links and attacking any mobile artillery and infnatry in the area. This should help buy you as much time as you need. They'll then keep on an orbit of the edge of a 30km radius of the beach-head, blasting anything that moves.

The Third wave, which this is part of, is moving only just in front of the landing force below. When we are just in front of the beach, we'll provide you with the sort of fire support which will put those bombers to shame. Plus we'll continue to provide fire support right until the whole force of yours is firmly established, and provide a wall of fire for your men to hide behind.

I think that should be alright? If so, we can continue onwards. If you want, you can stay up here for the duration, since we're gonna be rather safe up here."

He continued sipping at his tea, occasionally tapping commands into the console behind him as alerts flashed up. The hundreds of green icons were slowly moving towards the red shoreline, orange icons rapidly disappearing now the 1st wave were firing.

OOC:

Colstream, your military planning is a bit old - nobody uses SPGs anymore, as tanks have gradually rendered them obsolescent, unless you mean SPHs which carry the indirect-fire breed of artillery.
And surely there'd have been more casualties and destruction, for very few common fortifcations can stand repeated impacts from 15" shells and cruise missiles, which carry almost one tonne of high explosive.

Oh, and the reason why Sandrez didn't know the name of the amphibious stuff is because I haven't made up a name, so bear with me while I use the term 'amphibious vehicle'

IC:

"Well, I'm sure, with skill and some luck, it can be pulled off.
Your plan sounds excellent, however I and the Admiral here must leave now rather hurriedly, as time is of the essence.

As long as technology lives up to it's expectations, we should be able to mantain radio and computer data links.

Well, must go and invade now. Thanks very much, I look forward to seeing you on the beachead"

The 15" (380mm) main guns of the few newer battlecruisers in the fleet, as well as the heavier fire-support ships (old gun cruisers/battleships, the only modern improvements being offensive and defensive computers systems and the odd CIWS) had rested for the past hour, however, their crews had had their tea-break and were back at the controls.

The Delaroy-Class Battlecruisers had two such turrets each, one bow, one aft, each packing two ETC 15" naval guns, their size, in Antigran service at least, being beaten only by the very heavy coastal artillery.

The Delaroy, name ship of the class, had been redirected from the Grand Fleet to the Moriabian landings along with it's escort group of surface, below-surface, and air combatants, and it was it's left foreward 15" gun that belched flame and smoke, a rather classic and traditional but outdated signal.

The other guns started with their opening salvos immediately, not hoping for accuracy but for surpression, for as long as it hit the beach it didn't matter, knocking out enemy positions and creating shell craters for the Marines to take cover in if need be.

The helicopters of the 37th Independent Royal Air Cavalry Regiment whizzed overhead, armed with cavalrymen, guns, missiles and rockets. As planned, they would drop their loads between a few hundred metres to a mile behind the beach and wreak havoc, with the aid of the helicopters and the odd airship, backed up by squadrons of the Antigran fighters.

Under the flame of the missile launches - cruise missiles were still landing - and gunfire from everything from the light vessels' 3-inchers to the aforementioned Battlecruiser guns, the first amphibious vehicles surged forward under the power of their waterjets, armed with hand-swung 25mm cannon (for use by the 15 marines - half a platoon - carried) and ATGMs, followed by the slower landing craft, making full speed, also supported by the Alfegans and Antigran air wings.

OOC: Welll i have a Janes Tank Recognition Guide which lists the current indirect artillery as Self Propelled Guns as the AS 90 is classed as a Self Propelled Gun. The Russian 240mm is classed as a Self Propelled Howizer because its gun is over 210mm long. The Moriabians have got SPGs but it has been fighting inside threats for 60 years so it has not been in direct conflict with any country since the early 20th Century. Also these bunkers have been built to the specs of medium nuke bunkers. Plus also they have had since the corrupt government took over in the early 20th century to build and reinforce these things. Most of the damage had been all of the AA Guns and most of the mobile artillery.

IC: The final preperations had started to move into Moriabia's capital Mortia and capture the large military base, Fort Chafet.

Meanwhile on the western coast, the damage was major. All of the SPGs had been destroyed and nobody could go out of their protective shelters without being killed or severely injured. The Moriabian soldiers spotted the Antigran landing craft heading to shore and manned their positions prepared to fire.
Meanwhile, 120 T-72 MBTs and 40,000 Soldiers 10 miles east of Hewtra began to head for the coast determined to stop the landings from being a success.

"Moving over to attack now: prepare for primary bombardment of selected installations not already targeted by Antigran assets."

The airship slowly started descending, whilst the electronic noise coming from it increased. Suddenly, it began firing: a panel on the side of the underslung airship missile gondola was blown off, revealing a flaming inferno as 9 Crossbow IV missiles took off, arching around and locking onto targets designated. Below, a series of explosions signalled that a series of installations had been knocked out, secondary explosions from ammunition stockpiled there making the smoke cloud shudder.

The Taskforce commander began flicking over targets designated to the airships in his Group, and as the airship began opening up again, this time much more heavily and for a prolonged time period, he heard the roar of 6 autocannons firing as he looked at the two Aero-frigates firing at the large beach areas either side, smalll explosions ripping through whatever beach obstacles had been set up or shredding any infantry and vehicles on the ground.

Meanwhile, he could just see the shape of the other group's main airship in the distance, smoke from below showing it was dealing with the reported artillery. And to his left, he could see more destruction as the third group started destroying inbound infantry while they were still on the roads, bridges detonating beneath them.
A warning siren started as the airship systems picked up a lock from a mobile AA unit. As the Defence systems activated, lights flickering as power was sucked from their circuit into the countermeasures circuit, the autocannons from the two Aerofrigates cut out, before starting up again in mid-air. In front of the airship, there were 4 explosions as inbound missiles were intercepted and destroyed.
"When will they learn that their missiles will not do a thing? Reward them for the error of their ways."
There was a shudder and distant flash as a missile took out the AA vehicle and surrounding area.

The Alfegos missiles began to shake the beach creating large holes in the sand. The mines laid on the beaches began to detonate from the shockwave of the explosions.

The forces heading west towards the beaches had halted just outside of Hewtra due to the destroyed bridges. They started to dig in and began to prepare positions that would slow down the Antigran forces once they landed.

Meanwhile in the port of Samester, the supplies were coming in with more equipment. The front had gone way beyond the city so only the sound of gunfire mingled with the sound of approaching ships and dockyard machinery.

On the Eastern Front, the forces had nearly finished moving into their start positions in and around Mortia. They were waiting for the Antigran Army to land so they could move further into the city and capture Fort Chafet.

Short crappy post. Sorry.

IC:

Apart from the explosions of artillery and the gigantic splashes of water as the shells struck the sea beside it, the amphibious vehicle was totally quiet.

Lieutenant Hanley was 38. He had a wife, kids, and his whole life ahead of him, yet King Ottestad had doomed him to the possibility of death on this dratted beach.

In his hands was a 25mm open-mount cannon with a metal shield covering 45 degrees either side of him as well as his front.
He squeezed the trigger lever again, and it made a steady thunk-thunk-thunk sound as it spat shells.

Then it came. The solid whumph as the craft hit the beach. Still firing, the vehicle engaged it's tracks and accelerated up the sand, it's weapons firing.

"They've hit the beach: switch to giving them direct air support."
The airships sunk down to a height of 300 metres above the ground. At this height, the individual enemy soldiers could be seen movingabout on the ground, like ants. The autocannons started roaring in bursts, whilst the occasional missile shot off to annihilate groups of soldiers or vehicles. Chaos reigned supreme in the area between landing forces and the defenders, as missiles were switched to artillery types, such as the Longbow IV, scattering hails of bomblets over the enemy infantry. Some set swathes of land on fire, fileld with phospurous bomblets, whilst others lifted up clouds of dust as the hail of them detonated similtaneously.

On the side of the AAS Shuriken, an engineer waved to the forces below as he took potshots with an AAT-87 missile launcher, the occasional blast ripping vehicles to pieces. He ducked inside as a hail of gunfire found itself near him, moving back out to return fire to those concealed on the ground.

A machinegun opened up, ripping through the underside of one of the aerofrigates. Glass crazed on the airship control gondola as rounds impacted against it, the crew inside shocked by the fire ferocity but protected by the triple-glazed oxy-nitride glass. There was an almost audible hiss as the air ballast was expelled, allowing the airship to move up rapidly whilst returning fire from its autocannons and small missile pods. Since all the round holes were in its underside, little gas could escape, meaning that any damage it had received form that burst was minimal at best.

The airships began rising as they called back the bomber wing: they had some special targets to take out. The Pyromaniacs landed at Ge'Fegos International airport, and we immediately set upon by ground crews. The Tupolov Blackjacks they used as their craft were dragged to the side of the runway by ground support vehicles, whilst fuelling craft began to pump them full of their special enriched kerosene fuel. Ground teams sprinted with trolleys carrying bunker-buster bombs, flown in by the Squadron's C-06 Supersonic transport. Each was a napalm bunker destroyer, a doube-stage charge built into the casing of a GBU-2A ultra-heavy bomb. When detonated underground, it would turn a bunker into a firestorm. Suffocating those not incinerated.

The crews lept out of their aircraft, moved off to the side into a waiting lorry as the replacement pilots ran in. In 15 minutes, the craft were taxi-ing onto the runway, to the displeasure of the waiting civilian aircraft. Very soon, 8 craft were airborne and flying in formation. As they broke the sound barrier, they banked, preapring for their gift to give to the Moriabians.

Samester Air Base:

40 B52H Bombers armed with Napalm Bombs took off and set a course for the western coast 30 miles away. Their objective was to arrive just before the Alfegos Bombers and drop their load on the main entrance to the tunnel complex just west of Hewtra. The resulting explosions would trap the west coast garrision in their bunkers making them easy targets.

30 minutes later:

The B52s moved into tight formation over Hewtra. Civilian casualties would occur in this raid which will be unavoidable. As they approached the target the first AA missile exploded under the Aircraft. Too Low. The B52s were flying above the AA missiles altitude limit which kept them safe. Just before the target the bomb doors opened on the aircraft. As they flew over the lead B52 dropped its full load of 60,000lbs of bombs onto the target. The others followed dropping their bombs adding to the weight falling. The bombs impacted the target obliterating the main entrance killing and maiming every soldier in the area and suffocating them in the tunnels nearest to the main entrance. The tunnels also began to collapse as the pressure and heat began to cause the tunnels to expand and then implode into itself trapping many soldiers in them and cutting the western coastal garrison in their bunkers. As they moved to home course, they spotted the Alfegos Planes coming in for their run on the coastal bunkers.

Sergeant Amdahl threw himself do the ground as a large missile from one of the airships hit the ground several meters away.
He got up again, before throwing himself into the soft, fine sand - again - to the rapid fire of an MG3 GPMG.

It was the rough equivalent of the Antigran KGM, one of which he cradled in his hands. They both had the same bolt system - rather than the slower-firing but more balanced wrap-around system in most Antigran weapons, and they both had a very high ROF.
The tripod was strapped to his back and he had no time to set the thing up so he rested the barrel on a convenient rock and flicked a switch for the maximum standard rate of fire of 1200rpm.

He could increase it if he wanted by use of the gas regulators, but he decided not to. With bullets pinging off the rock, he squeezed the trigger as it made the classical rapid chattering sound.

Meanwhile, a corporal had crawled up the other side of a stout, thin sand dune. He unhooked a grenade from his chest and pulled the pin. He waited two seconds and lobbed it at the enemy machine-gun nest, before quickly pencil-rolling away.

Meanwhile, the first landing craft had arrived and from it's ramp rolled on of the brand new MT-86 Marauder IIs.

It's turret swivelled and belched an ultra-high-velocity 120mm round, while it fired it's 25mm cannon and the commander manned the roof ATGM and twin MGs.

Further forward, a marine had crawled up the sand to a forward mortar position's flank. He tensed his muscles. Now or Never.

He leaped up and fired a 105mm round from his LAW before throwing himself into a shell-crater and pulling out his KKS pistol.

The 77mm mortars were, thanks to NERA, ERA, and the new vehicle countermeasure systems, having little effect on the tanks and amphibious vehicles, which continued up the beach with marines behind them.

All this was happening in the first two minutes.

On the ships, guns were now being directly aimed for mortar positions and four flights of DD80s banked and whizzed over at 770mph, over the speed of sound, to damage enemy forces with this alone. They banked again to come roundand use their twin 25mm cannon and missiles.

The 8 bombers moved into a low-flying line as they came towards the land, stretched out across a length of a few miles. Whipping over their allies, they pulled up, having deployed their bombs. Each could only carry a single one of these bunker-busters, but each hit was extremely effective.

Slamming into the ground at 1250 km/h, the bombs easily sliced through the soil on their way downwards, 10 tonnes of weapon not easily stopped. Hitting the concrete with its nose probe activated the primary drill charge, ripping a narrow hole in the roof of the bunker. Through this came the second stage: the tank of napalm and incendiaries. Flooding the bunker with a firestorm at thousands of degrees celcius, anyone not killed straight away by the heat wave that would have cut through the bunkers would die from the thick smoke now pouring off from whatever the napalm touched, or would be caught up in the disintegrating structure: concrete and metal at these incredibly high temperatures would be lucky not to deform, and with thousands of tonnes of soil above, the bunkers would lose whatever structural integrity they had and collapse.

The bombers pulled off as they airships moved their line of fire to the Antigr lines, targeting areas pointed out by Antigran pathfinders. Explosions carried on in the maelstrom of battle as the Antigrans slowly moved up the beach and inland. From his airship, the Taskforce Commander viewed crystal-clear footage from his nearest Aeropatrolcraft, a tiny airship whos only purpose in battle was to act as a sensor platform for both RADAR, Infared, Electronical and Visual systems. The phalnax of cameras were of now watching the front line of the battle, with feeds being sent down to both Antigran command and any Antigran frontliners with video access. The commander watched as a trench holding mortars was decimated by autocannon fire, men literally being ripped to pieces by the rounds and shrapnel that landed there. As the line of fire passed, a couple of survivors could be seen lying in the bottom, blood soaking from shrapnel wounds. The commander sighed, before switching to RADAR view.

Inside the bunkers, around 80% of the bunkers was either destroyed, partially collapsed or burning. Most of the garrision were dead, except some pockets of resistance. The order came to fire on the other side of the collapsed bridges to deny the Antigran Forces cover. Type 85 122mm SPGs began to open up on the other side of the bridges destroying the remaining bunkers and basically cutting off the garrision from escape. At the same time, reinforcements consisting of 60 T-62s modified with Flamethrowers instead of the 7.62 coaxial Machine Gun began to cross on a pontoon bridge to the west bank of the River Hewtra towards the fighting. The pontoon bridge was then blown up cutting them off on the west bank. They then began to dig in a heavily forested area overlooking the beaches with good positions to fire from.

OOC:

Flamethrowers aren't really a good idea anymore - nowadays, incendiary rockets or missiles are used. That, and MGs are generally a better idea, unless you have more than one already.

In the next invasion of some made-up nation, can they have really good guns? And do you have writeups for your MS2 Panther, out of interest?

Now, listen up. We're gonna send out 1st and 2nd Platoons to join up with the battalion heavy weapons company to our west, with some of the MGs and Anti-Armour weapons.
3rd and 4th stay here and mantain position. Ericsson, take your sniper rifle up to that hill with a squad and study the area. Got reports of enemy armour on the move, come across a lone tank or vehicle, shoot and scoot. Put in a shot, kill the occupants, and skidaddle. Otherwise, you're dead.

The choppers are going off in waves to refuel, so that at least half are always here.

The Beaches

The three marine divisions were having a field day, storming up the beach like the Light Brigade.
Survivors were being shot in the face, and for now high command didn't really care if they surrendered or not.

The artillery fire was troubling them, but old undersized weapons with low muzzle velocity was't really troubling the rapidly-advancing Marines and Air Cavalry. With more of the armour being unloaded and rolling forward by the second and heavy artillery in the form of SLRA and 155mm/203mm guns, as well as the Royal Forces' unique 140mm towed gun and it's mounted variants, the Flak 88mm of the modern age, an artillery piece and highly compact and effective AT and superheavy AA weapon.

The AAS Shuriken began to descend again, this time rapidly, but with the foreward section of the missile gondola adjusting ever so slightly. As it pulled back upwards, moving across the Antigran positions, clouds of smoke began pouring from the vents, masking the infantry for hundreds of metres along the beachline. Lifting back up, it came over the enemy artillery positions, dropping off the used smoke generator over the enemy position whilst strafing some of the artillery. Acting on Infared footage from the Aeropatrolcraft, it began deploying targets to the airship targeting computer: across the enhanced reality screen, hundreds of red icons detailing enemy positions sprang up. The weapons systems controller made some adjustments, before locking onto a priority target facing the beach: what appeared to be a few tanks. It armed a pair of Crossbow missiles, before sending the data down to the troops below. As the two projectiles arched down towards the ground, the autocannon opened up.

OOC: The weapons you see are used by an understrength division. Most of it is up the eastern end facing the Colstream Army.

The firing began to slacken off. Many began to flee eastward, even though they had heard their friends being killed.

Meanwhile, the Colstream Army Artillery opened fire along the whole front. Over 700 Self Propelled Guns opened up firing at ranges down to 300 metres causing massive devastation. At the same moment, 900,000 men began to move along the whole front supported by 700 Tanks of different varients. Over 300 Fighters, Bombers and Ground Attack Aircraft moved ahead attacking anything that moved. Even though most of the Moriabian equipment lay in the east, the advance started to penetrate deep along the northern coast moving within 40 miles of the northwest coast even before the Antigran Army had got of the beaches on the west coast.

That's a bit of a far-fetched claim.

Despite the length of the RPing, the beaches were taken in a matter of minutes, as most are nowadays. D-Day era fortifications don't hold it as well against modern technology.

And will there be any resistance to the Air Cav?

OOC: As you said, bad equipment. Anyway we are close to the coast anyway- about 45 miles and i said "moving to around 40 miles. Anyway, the 1944 Russian "Operation Bagration" advanced around that time in the first few hours and ended up advancing 1200 miles west in 6 weeks. That was against 135 German Divisions.

IC:

Your forces have the southwest and northwest. The advance will stop at 30 miles from the coast. The west is yours. This is where around 60% of the armor in the theatre is based. The east is secure except the capital Mortia which is our main target. We will have it in Colstream Hands in 4 (real) days.

So I can just assume the enemy is there, right? And are these tanks up-armoured?

IC:

Ericsson saw a glint through his 'scope. Adjusting it, he zoomed in. What luck - a tank commander was stupid enough to have his whole torso sticking out the hatch of his T-72. Heh - Arsehole.

He didn't wait for long. Having aimed, he squeezed the trigger of his SeG-60C (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=13580782) sniper rifle, sending a single, lethal shot towards the man.
Seconds later, his Corporal loosed off an ATGM towards a T-62 parked next to it. Having seen the effect, they sneaked back into the trees.

Meanwhile, the beaches were pretty much cleared.
The first armoured Regiment had arrived and began heading straight for the enemy positions, while some of the attack helicopters and DD80s were re-routed to the T62s and the forest, along with two Infantry battalions and a self-propelled-gun regiment with 140mm Dual-Purpose guns.

OOC: You can assume they are there cause it is the only place they have total control over. The Tanks you will face are T-80s and Type 80s. Still not as armoured as yours but the best opposition you will have in the whole campaign. There are around 400 Tanks left in your area. The other 100 are in the capital which are mainly Type 80 MBTs.

The tank commander fell with a bullet in his torso. The T-62 started to cook up setting some nearby bushes alight lighting up the area.

The Colstream Army halted its advance in the north and dug in. The campaign had finished in the north ending the Moriabian attempt to make a stand in the Northern Caves which were now in Colstream Hands.
Meanwhile in the Capital Mortia, fighting had resumed after a fierce barrage which destroyed most of the south-eastern parts of the city. There was now only 48 hours of ammunition and food left creating a dilemma for the remnants of the Moriabian Army.

The bunker had been taken. General Roche Palista and his cabinet was now aboard a HA-69 Eagle Transport Helicopter heading towards the Port of Samester where he would be taken to the Colstream Mainland for trial. (Thread for that coming later)

Colonel Alexandersson's MT-86 Marauder II was a new tank - rather than the frequent, annoying, and unmajor updates to the Marauder platform, they'd waited fopr a load of big advancements to be designed and advanced to a wholly new tank.

His first gunner, one of the new four-man crew, yelled.

"Sir, enemy in range. Target aquired. T-80 at seventeen hundred metres"

"Fire"

The ETC gun belched flame as a dual-stage DU round whizzed at great speed towards the inferior enemy vehicle, and the Colonel's vehicle began to accelerate, followed by four tanks and a company of infantry in their vehicles - MIFVs, APCs, and the occasional Jeep or Motorcycle.

"Captain, the heavy weapons company have rallied and organised"

"What do they have?"

"ATGMs, a couple of light guns, two 120mm Mortars, and several 81mm Mortars"

"Spread them out, but set up the light guns protecting the LZ and keep four Mortars and ATGMs here"

"Yes, sir"

"Sir, radio"

The Captain walked over to the radio and picked it up.

"Captain Olssen"

"Captain, we're sending an Armoured Battalion to link up with you. Until then, hold your position and hold the LZs. Scouting will be useful, Captain, do whatever is best"

"Yes, Colonel"

"Taskforce Commander, we've found the main pocket of resistance on stratellite scans: move to a safe distance and commence barrage operations. Be careful, and don't risk it all on annihilating them: we're currently preparing to move in the entire air flotilla to take the capital. Be careful."

The airship Captain hit the engine controls to move the airship into full reverse thrust as he suddenly stared viewing the enhanced reality footage of the newly-plotted enemy targets. Icons sprung up everywhere, flashing as supsected AA installations came into range. The airship jerked to a halt as the massive turboprops cut into reverse, before moving backwards at a slowly accelerating pace. An aerofrigate nearby did not heed the warning, continuing onwards. As the Taskforce commander yelled for them to withdraw, he started putting in codes for remote flight, to pass to the airship's co-pilot. He was too late. He cut the radio channel as he heard their alarm systems starting up, and looked down to see a hail of missiles inbound.

Explosions started about the airship as point defence systems took out missiles, the escess being taken down by hailstorm active kill systems. But the sheer mass meant that missiles got through. 5 explosions blasted pieces of the gasbag to fragments, revealing a burning core as the hydrogen started igniting. Spinning out of control, the 8 crew members lept from the open airship doors as an engine exploded, the fires reaching the hydrogen backup cylinders. A final missile hit the control gondola, blasting it to pieces. As small eruptions of flame ripped through the envelope all along, the airship started descending rapidly towards the ground a kilometre below. It finally hit an area of woodland, ripping a swath through the trees as it continued forwards, coming to a final halt after about 500m. Behind it, a trail of smoking debris and burning foliage was left. The wreck continued to flicker as the remaining hydrogen gas burnt, the fabric the cells were made from burning in the intense heat to give off a cloud of thick, black chemical smoke over the area.

"This is AAS Shuriken to Antigr and Alfegan foreward command: the AAS Icarus is down. I repeat, the AAS Icarus is down. Unknown number of casualties, but suspect all escaped before final destruction. Requesting a search team is deployed to find survivors."

The weapons system controller wore an angry expression as she began setting the missiles flying towards the enemy AA vehicles that had taken down the airship, distant explosions showing their impacts.

________________________________________

Across the Colstream-held territory, the rest of the air flotilla was coming in to attack. 5 Consul-class aerocruisers, accompanied by a phalnax of aero-frigates and 2 trailing aerodropcraft. Their target: the capital city. Their fire started, turning the entire frontline and rear line area of the enemy line into a storm of chaos: fire, smoke and explosions roaring across an area as the group began tearing apart the enemy. Completely disregarding any further attacks to them, the group continued onwards over to the capital area. The bombardment started: aeropatrolcraft broke from the group to search the areas for any visible enemy in both the infa-red and visual spectrums, relaying targets rapidly back to the airships, which began letting loose their fire upon anything that looked threatening.
Behind them, another path of fire lit up: they had cleared a path in the lines with incendiary bombs, and were just waiting for the Colstream forces to punch through.

______________________________

The Captain of the AAS Icarus swore as he lept out of his airship gondola: the captain was supposed to go down with his ship, but he knew there was no point. Before leaving, he set the mechanical autopilot with a trajectory to try and hit an area of woodland far away from civilisation: that way, no damage would be caused to people. He left the blackbox in as he made the final arrangement for the airship: a self destruct sequence for the most advanced electronic equipment onboard. As he flew from the airship, there was an invisible explosion in the data networks as permament deletion started, all being literally ripped from the disks. Finished, explosives detonated around the gondola, turret and radio units. Nothing would be gleaned from the hydrogen engines, now blown pretty much to pieces.

He opened his parachute to glide in over a clearing area, where he could see three other parachutes rapidly being cleared away. Hitting the ground running, he flicked off his parachute harnass and let it collapse on the floor, before rolling it up and stuffing it with the others under a bush. Here, he could see the survivors: the weapons controller and the two engineers. With a sigh of relief, he noted they'd set off the guided ejection of their emergancy supply crates, with the crates all landing in the clearing area around a small homing beacon. He dragged them to the side as they moved into cover, before opening one of the crates. Shooting the lock off with his pistol, the Captain opened it to reveal 6 AF-07 assault rifles, body armour and ammunition. Donning the camouflage pattern material of the armour and painting his face, he soon was sitting down setting up comms equipment from the 2nd crate as the discarded weapons crate was used to hide the parachutes. All carried 360 rounds each, 120 being special cavity rounds for airship used to stop overpenetration in a firefight onboard. These ones, with the purple bands on their noses, lay safely stowed in the 60-round box magazines they carried about them. Soon, the Captain was able to establish a radio link with the Antigran forces.

"This is Captain of AAS Icarus. We have come down an unknown distance behind enemy lines. We've no GPS unit, so are unable to locate ourselves. Please advise us on our position and further course of action."

There was a hush as they quickly moved into the bushes with the other two equipment boxes, the Captain still on the radio: they had heard movement in the woods.

The T-80 exploded in a sheet of flame. 2 enemy soldiers firing next to it were blown apart in a large red mist. Several soldiers behind them fired AT-66 Rockets at the tanks tracks in an attempt to stop them.

The Colstream MS2 Panther MBTs moved forward in the wake of the Alfegan missiles. Many soldiers unhurt by the missiles surrendered to the following Infantry. At the same time, 2 MK5 Viper Fighter Bombers and 3 MK6 Viper Fighter Bombers dropped 4 1000lb bombs each onto targets either side of the advancing forces widening the breach.

A squad of 8 Moriabian soldiers who had saw the airship get shot down and tracked the survivors parachutes through the trees broke cover. The lead one opened fire with his AK-74.

"Erik!"

The Colonel had just regained his seat after the rockets had impacted. Luckily, they'd struck the tank's low-reaching side-skirts and merely shaken the vehicle, however he wondered for a moment why his gunner had used his first name.

Maybe that was why he looked down immediately. The first gunner was cradling the second gunner - a fourth crewmember added to operate the co-axial cannon - in his hands.

One of the rockets had been hopelessly innacurate and smashed into the turret, more precisely, the gun mantle, very near to the gun. More out of luck than anything else, it had struck lucky - a loose machined screw as part of the exterior breech mechanism had flown out of it's socket and into the second gunner, just below his collarbone and to the right.

"Erik...he's..."

"He looks bad, Christer..."

He yelled to the driver.

"Staffan! Get on the main gun. It loads by itself, Petter taught you how to use the sights. Now, go!
Christer, get the first aid kit, and the bottle of beer from the ammunition cold storage. I'll clean the wound with it, and then get onto Sven's column over the radio and get them here. And we need a medic"

At the beaches, two complete divisions had landed. The third, which was still only in partial strength, would defend the beachead and the others, which had ammassed on the beach, were recieving orders - the DD80 fighters had returned to the carriers but they were to take off again en-masse in support of the two divisions, the first division pushing through the centre of Hewtra and the second, reinforced by rallied air cavalry units, would perform a pincer attack from each side.

The first APC of combat-ready Marines rolled off...

"Oh no you don't you little buggers!"
The Captain saw the section rear up from cover as he let loose with the assault rifle. The rest of the men opened up, rounds flying towards the Moriabians. The cavity-tipped rounds flying towards the enemy were designed to be rear-heavy, givning them extra accuracy in flight. They were also designed to expand on impact with a soft enemy target, leaving lumps of metal scattered through the target's body. Against hard armour, the splattered into pieces of shrapnel that could blind or cause deep lacerations to those exposed. He saw an engineer go down with a shot to the head as the rest of the men continued firing.

The Moriabian soldiers seeing a rocket strike the tanks turret, start to move forward more fiercely. Several more rockets fly dangerously close the stricken tank, 2 knocking down nearby trees setting part of the forest alight. An infantry section armed with AT-66s came forward determined to finish the tank off. Suddenly the tank crew heard the rumble of aircraft and over the radio a voice suddenly spoke "Hey down there do you need a hand?"

Then the radio crackled again.

"Colonel Alexandersson, this is Lieutenant-Colonel Bergson, over"

"Sven! Thank god...get we need covering fire, bring the high explosive in close!"

"Will do, Erik. By the way, we have a medic. Do you need a second gunner?"

A high-explosive shell landed near the front of the Marauder, scrattering shell fragments everywhere.

"No, thanks. We can make do on three"

---

Ericsson looked around. He'd scanned the area for the past 20 minutes, but he couldn't see any enemy tanks.just a few soldiers, several squaddies and their radio operator.

He took aim again and squeezed the trigger, hopefully killing the radio operator. Creutz was on the MG next to him and began firing at a group of soldiers, while 1st and 2nd squad went in under heavy surpressing fire from the mortars.

---

The other infantry division was approaching Hewtra. They'd encountered scattered resistance, abut now they were on to the main task.

Leading the front was one of the exceptionally rare MT-79 heavy tanks - heavy tanks may be an old concept, but it's 140mm main gun - an Antigran Flak 88mm of the modern age - and very heavy armour and secondary armament earned it fear and respect throughout the Royal Forces theatre of operations.

"Come on: can't you guys just get out of here?"

The Captain noted the 12 men appear out of the foliage as he kicked the discarded weapons crate. He heard rattling in there, before realising there was more items in there. He rolled into a small recess in the ground behind some trees, hearing the wood shred above his head, before kicking the box over towards him. The lid fell open, revealing a box of signal flares. Just what he needed. He dropped forwards, taking one of the boxed flare pistols, and cocking the hammer. He rolled in one of the cardboard cylinders, slotting 5 more in the handle. He lifted it, firing up into the sky. A red projectile shot up into the sky, its radiance visible from all round. Hopefully, re-enforcements would arrive. If the Antigrans didn't help them, they didn't know who would.

He heard the roar of a shotgun, and looked to see two Moriabianss toting shotguns. What idiots. At the range they were firing, they didn't realise the spray was not hitting anything the aimed at, scattering out ridiculously. He flicked another flare in, before seeing another Moriabian charging wildly at them. What school of war did these soldiers go to? Didn't they realise they should stay in cover at all times, to avoid becoming easy targets? He fired off the flaregun at the man, the burning red round producing a cloud of putrid-smelling smoke as it burnt flesh and hair. He dropped the flare gun, still in the prone position like the others in cover, and flipped out his assault rifle again. Damn it - ammunition jam. He yanked the bolt back and locked it in position, having first removed the box magazine. He gave the rifle a shake, letting the mis-fed round drop from the rifle. He chambered the misfed round, wiping the dirt from it, before releasing the bolt and re-inserting the magazine. He was rewarded with a roar of burst fire, and the shredding of a nearby tree.

The Captain picked himself up from underneath the remains of a tree, and looked around the smouldering area. What the hell had happened? He stumbled dizzily over to where a tree had toppled over, and started pushing: someone was trapped underneath. He felt someone tap him on the shoulder, and the world blurred as he turned to face two of the other crew members. All were wounded to varying degrees, and all helped to move the tree. Underneath, the dragged out the 4th member of the crew who had landed with them. The Captain vaguely tried to remeber what happened to the two other crew members, before realising they hadn't found them yet. Those two obviously landed somewhere else.

He saw two figures limping towards them. One collapsed as they tried to rush towards the two, realising that they were the missing two. And they had been caught up in it much worse than them. The co-pilot cradled the Defence System controller in his hands as he lifted her up, smearing thick red blood across him. The blood brought him back to reality with a crack: vision focused again, he fought against the ring in his ears to move over to one of the first aid kits, dragging it away from the burning patch of scrub. He fumbled through the case as she was alid down in front of him, revealing deep shrapnel wounds to the lower torso, legs and arms. Leaving the pieces of metal in, to stop further bleeding, he began bandaging her up, checking her pulse all the time and talking to her. She was still just conscious, but unlikely to here what he was shouting through the perpetual din in his ears. He finished seeing to her wounds as the co-pilot took in shaking hands a multi-dose airpen from the medical box, taking off the red end-cap and putting into her system a painkilling dose of morphine.

The Captain took up the flaregun again, firing off another shot upwards. This time a burning orange sodium flare: they needed a doctor ASAP. Hopefully they'd be picked up soon.

It was by sheer luck and sheer chance that the first of the 37th Independent Air Cavalry's helicopters were on their way back from refuelling. It was also more luck that a recon unit was in the area, quite close by, in fact.
They would be able to get there earlier than the Colstreami Blackhawk, and would have arrived even earlier than that if the mobile radio relay vehicle on the beach hadn't given up the ghost and knocked out radio communication for the past five minutes.

The first of the DDR-570 Helicopters began to approach the area. The door KGM gunner opened fire, spraying insanely fast-firing bullets everywhere, more in an efort to keep heads down than anything else.

The massive main gun moved round to the next target, another T-80, as three Marauder IIs approached in formation to support the lone ranger, firing their guns.

Meanwhile, Marines had begun to surround Hewtra and two Recon Battalions had entered.

The T-80 exploded forcing the rest to move into Hewtra.

While in Hewtra, as the 2 Antigran Recon Batallions went in, the Moriabians resorted to using Scud Missiles to slow them down. The first one was fired at the ships off the western coast. A second was fired at the western outskirts of Hewtra itself. The Moriabians had gotten desperate. Some missile sites still were operational but Colstream Satelites had spotted the launch and had given the co-ordinates to take it out.

SAMESTER AIR BASE-2am Local Time.

21 B1B Strategic Bombers had began to refuel and load their weapons. Within 1 hour they could take off.

3am

The 21 B1Bs took off and began to head west. Total Air Superiority meant that no fighter escort was needed which saved time when they took off.

3:20am

The B1Bs flew over the target. As the first one dropped its load another missile was fired towards the western coast. The missile however failed to get away as a 1000lb bomb detonated it in mid air detonating the 8000lb warhead and obliterating the area. The remaining ones climbed up to avoid the explosion. 17 returned with their bombs still on board.

In the east, Mortia had been surrounded. 1 Million Men had been caught in the pincer movement and were now surrounded with no way out. A counterattack had been stopped and the Colstream Army now halted while it recieved new stocks of ammunition and food as well as bringing in fresh divisions into the lines.

The commander of the MT-79 saw the T80s pulling back.

"Reload! We can get another shot in"

Five seconds later, the 140mm gun belched again, firing a DU round towards the T80.

---

The Scud came down hard. It struck a house at the other end of the street from the first armoured car, creating a shockwave that blew the vehicle over. Soldiers and vehicles were propelled backwards as the shockwave expanded.

The commander of the Armoured car found he couldn't hear anything. Just a kind of ambience in his ears. He groaned, but he couldn't hear it. Dizzy and disoriented, he looked round.
An arm slowly reached up to him and he felt his gunner tugging. Slowly, they began to climb out.

A mortar barrage suddenly opened up on the left side of the MT-79 as the T-80 blew up sending lethal metal fragments everywhere. A mixture of smoke and High Explosive rained down on the tanks and supporting infantry.

Meanwhile in Hewtra, the street the Scud landed in was a mess. Several houses had collapsed in the blast area and bricks and glass was scattered over the street.

Around the Hewtra International Airport, 150 MLRS Batteries opened fire in a massive bombardment aimed at the heart of the city. 150,000 Soldiers supported by 200 MS2 Panthers, 280 T-90s and 300 APCs and IFVs charged for the ruins of the Government Sector. Operation Capitulation had begun. The end of the war was now only hours away.

"Thanks you guys - I thought we weren't gonna get a ride."
As they took off away from the site, the helicopter passed through the cloud of black smoke from the burning wreck. The Captain sighed, before giving a final salute to the destroyed craft.

The Capital City was now the focus of Alfegan attack. Missile after missile rained down onto areas where troops had been sighted, whilst the aeromarine company on the ground launched ambushes on enemy patrols trying furiously to find them.

Aboard the AAS Righteous Fury, the Flotilla commander directed each task force as they moved over the burning capital city. He'd been given special orders to try and take as much an area as he could without letting the Colstream or Antigran forces in: word had come from command to try and capture the nation as a "protectorate". Primarily to stop any more bloodshed in this region of imploding facist states, but also to act as a powerful mineral source.

To Alfegos:

The Republic Of Colstream wants to be your protectorate, just like Hervia. We have the capital surrounded. You have the Green Light to go in. We will hold position. We do not want to be stuck running an expensive country. By the way, there is no oil, but there is rich deposits of minerals and gas. We have even drafted these terms:

TERMS:

1. To turn General Roche Palista and his government to Alfegos to answer for war crimes and genocide
2. To ask for Alfegos to take the country over as their protectorate.
3. To ask for a free hand in establishing "Colstream Gas" the Colstream gas company in the region and ask Alfegos to ask for 25% of the output as a price for Colstream assurances that Moriabia is Alfegos territory.
4. To help construct a Colstream Airship Factory and Assembly Plant

Is these terms acceptable?

OOC:

I feel the reason these wars seem to be over too fast is that you RP quicker than me...along the lines of, I RP for the sake of RP, you RP for the sake of the thread, the war, etc. There doesn't seem to be that much in-depth RPing on your part, just saying that this happened and this happened and then this happened. Maybe I should show you Alfegos's post in a Newby War - remember, the one with Fozcria? - explaining exactly what I mean.

How come you never say how you get all the troops there in the first place?

And, for the fifth time I've asked, do you have a writeup for the MS2 Panther?

Aww, I never get new colonies. *Sulks in Alfegos's direction before attempting to set fire to treaties*

IC:

The vehicle's countermeasures system, a basic Antigran WATCHKEEPER ripoff, began to deploy, destroying the majority of the mortar bombs all around it, such was it's efficiency. The remainder landed on the top of the tank.

Those that landed on the engine deck were defied by the multiple armoured grids covering the actual further-armoured engine, while those landing on the turret were defeated by the subsequent layers of static and reactive armour.

The Marines had heard the mortars coming and dived for cover, which saved many lives. However, many were caught in the open, thrown up in the air by the explosions, creating a thin red mist, both figuratively and literally.

The Comander of the MT-79 was none other than Colonel Huxley, a wisened frontline man of numerous Colstreami and other campaigns. The armour was a good protection, but he'd had enough.

"Fuck this!"

He yelled into the radio.

"I cannot believe you are letting a few mortars and a couple of tin pots with guns hold up an entire armoured division! I'm just gonna ride through to the other side of Hewtra"

The MT-79 accelerated and the marines hurriedly got back in their vehicles, followed by more tanks and personnel carriers. They were't to be stopped now; headed by a mad colonel in a Heavy Tank in lead of a division of Marines.
If it wasn't for the gunfire, he'd have kneeled on the turret and saluted.

The vehicles were just going to head at full speed to the other side of Hewtra, with half of the strength stopping in the middle and destroying enemy forces not already destroyed as the tanks rolled past.

Heh. He thought to himself. Maybe the Colstreamis will be able to keep up.

(OOC: Sorry Antigr... I'll let you have some colonies as well. And please don't set the treaties on fire: we've been using the fire-proof treaty paper for years, to stop said actions. With inbuilt kevlar fibre mesh in the paper, said treaties are also impossible to tear in half easily. This was firstly done to stop any problems as in the affair when Neo'Fegos (very former colony) lost a treaty to a fire, and used that as an excuse to claim independance. It is also done so that enemy nation broadcasts of their leaders attempting to rip up/burn the treaty and fail miserably can be used as propaganga... you see, I never miss out on a trick.
Anyway, if you don't mind Antigr, I'm thinking of starting an invite only "war game" on the Neo'los training grounds. Not revealing details yet, but I can assure you that any crews going there will enjoy it. Big time.)

An aerodropcraft came low over the city of Hewtra, where the armoured charge of the Antigrans was busy causing havoc. Time to add to it. Out the back of the craft came 8 crates, followed by 24 men deploying parachutes. Someone had decided it would be a good idea to deploy armour in Moriabia, and boy had they gone overboard.

The crates softly touched the ground as the crews entered from the open gaps in the sides of the wooden containers. Seconds later, the crates exploded as the vehicles burst from them: Xha'noa Assault Tanks. Sometimes called heavy armour, they were designed for sheer destruction in urban areas. Able to drive through a major building without problem, if they got stuck in a basement they could drag themselves back out. And any missile crews thinking a shot to the top armour would take it out were to be laughed at: for it wielded top armour as thick as its side armour. The vehicles moved into a line across a few blocks, before the firing started. Each carried a 150mm Type 4 Smoothbore cannon, able to move up to ridiculous elevations of 70 degrees. Enough to act as artillery, not that they were needed in that role. Destroying the city was what they had been told to do. The head of the formation was a Captain in his 20s, rapidly promoted through luck and "Being In The Right Place At The Right Time". And it showed: he sat in the cupola as rounds whizzed past the machinegun shield, firing off bursts of high-explosive rounds into buildings with the result of said buildings ripping themselves to pieces, screaming as the vehicle roared along at its top speed of 40mph, clouds of heat flooding from beneath the thick armoured exhaust as it alternatly roared along open stretches or flattened cars and barricades. A tower block exploded as a missile hit it from an airship, while the ground floor supports were demolished by aeromarines on the surface. Disappearing back underground, they were rewarded with a roaring cascade of rubble as the building was toppled by the explosive charges. the demolition completed by a shot by the lead tank.

As the tank commander took out his iPod and switched to some Industrial Metal music, an RPG smashed into the rear of the tank, the explosion not even causing the tank to rock as it whacked into the slat armour mounted around vunerable areas, above the ERA bricks mounted across the vehicles: these were not designed to work with infantry. He spun around in the turret cupola, drawing a SeG-60 Rifle and letting off a few shots into the building with the 6.8mm JHP rounds in an extended clip, watching a concealed figure collapse in a cloud of blood. He was having fun.

So, will there be any resistance to a mad Antigran in a tank?

By the way, conventional guns are useless - almost - now, and flawed.
A bigger gun is a bad route to go down until there are no more possibilities. 145mm is really quite silly for a standard-issue MBT.
The NS Draftroom is a good place to go, there's journals and things there which will make your tanks 100% better, like they did mine.

Rocket launchers as a turret armament are a bad idea. More costly than an MG, less versatile, and an easy target.

As Macabees himself - founder of the second NS draftroom, best ground warfare designer ever - Gun-launched ATGMs > ATGM launchers

The Moriabian Soldiers watched this mad Antigran drive past and opened up with a volley of AP-66 Anti Tank Rockets towards him. 90mm mortar shells began to land around the tank in an effort to slow him down. 7 T-80s opened up at the exact same time in a volley of fire. They were doing anything to stop him.

The Colstream Army was now dug in at their present locations not able to advance further due to the political decisions back in their capital Ashland. Apparently to the soldiers it was Alfegos that would take this land. After the struggle to get to this position the soldiers were frustrated that Alfegos would take more land from them. Even though they would give the land back to the people back to how it was before the war. Now the Republic Of Colstream would pack up and leave once the war finally ended.

The 5-ton truck finally reached the Rebel base. Cody and the last members of the team went to notify the Rebel commander that they could not continue they're incursion into Moriabia due to severe casualties, but they had completed they're objective - they had air support destroy the bridge and caused casualties to the opposing forces. Once the commander had been notified they would proceed to call for a V22 Osprey for extraction, although the fleet would remain offshore for support.

OOC - Apologize for the lack of posting - so I'll pull the team out, or atleast for now. Good RPing though.

The rockets were destroyed by the vehicle countermeasures system, and the one that did get through detonated on the ERA armour, scattering fragments of metal everywhere.

The MT-79 rolled on and suddenly shook as several 125mm tank gun rounds impacted, shaking the driver badly although not harming him.
The tank's turret swivelled round as it continued to advance, sending a 140mm DU round towards the first of the enmy tanks.

Behind it, a Marauder II fired at the second enemy tank as the Antigran column cntinued to advance at full speed.
The vehicle's remote-controlled turret MGs swivelled and began firing at the rocket squads as they reloaded, while the subsequent vehicles fired at the T80s as they rolled past rapidly.

The heavy tank drove through an underpass, into the darkness inside. A flare shot from the tank, illuminating a group of Colstreami men armed to the teeth. As machineguns, grenades and missile launchers began flying, the commander popped down into the tank turrent, closing the hatch behind him.
"Someone down here ain't happy. I think we need to calm them down."

The was a chatter as the machinegun began firing, its ammunition changed rapidly to tracer/high explosive mix. As the tank cannon roared, it was possible to hear the yells of those caught in a massive fragmention explosion as the vehicle backed out of the underpass. A few seconds later, a missile shot from the collapsing underpass to smack into the front armour, causing the vehicle to shudder slightly.
"Right then: to the Antigrans!"

The tank roared off again, smashing through a library onto a nearby road. Whoever was in the tank they suddenly apprehended was obviously rather scared. There was a roar as the vehicle turned to aim at the tank, before it was physically shunted by the tank into the nearby building. Revesring, it left the Colstream MBT to flounder helplessly in the building as it sent another shot into the building's side.
"Right - now start staying on more conventional kills: I don't think the commander will like all the holes and scratches in the armour now."

24 hours later

The Colstream Army had by now left the capital to the Alfegos forces. Happily for the Alfegos they could destroy as much as they like as it was theirs. They had moved all of the army east and the last of the forces had been sent home. The Colstream MBT Crew had been severely punished for staying the capital and had been forced to be confined to being escorted by the Colstream Military Police Officers on their transport ship.

To Alfegos:

Thank you for apprehending that tank crew for us. They will be punished severely for disobeying a direct order to leave the capital. General Roche Palista and his cabinet are now on their way in a C130 Hercules to the Alfegos capital. We will need a suitable airport to land and pass them into your care. Tell them there's an airstrip been set up at the international airport till the runways are fixed. But since we've got rid of most resistance, I think we can start rebuilding. Official Statement
Colonial Ministry

Alfegos, on considering the considerable damage it has inflicted upon the nation of Moriabia, and especially the capital, will be taking the capital region into its custody. This includes all land within 50km of the capital district, and a 50km wide corridor leading to the nearest body of water. This land will become international soil of both Alfegos and Moriabia, with possession until the country is deemed able to elect a proper government and that the country is fully rebuilt.
Prefabricated housing is being flown in to destroyed areas of the capital, to be erected by the 3rd Colonial Infantry Regiment, arriving by sea within the next 5 hours. However, military operations in the capital will not cease until all insurgancy is cleared, which may take months.

The Republic Of Colstream has sent in fresh soldiers to rebuild the areas not covered by your colony. The new capital will be Samester which is being rebuilt and expanded. This may become a Colstream Protectorate to prevent any terrorist takeover.

The first non combat soldiers and engineering equipment began to land in Samester Port whose facilities had been undamaged by the fighting. Also a temporary garrision of 6,000 Soldiers had landed and had set up temporary bases around the new republic and began their first patrols. Some towns in the eastern area, mainly the southeast had 5 car bombs aimed at the Colstream Forces explode killing a total of 129 civilians and 4 Colstream Soldiers. 256 Civilians and 8 Colstream Soldiers were injured. But overall, the situation was mostly under control.
