OOC: Help Needed With Sorting Military

I'm finally getting round to sorting my nation's stats out since I've got a couple of weeks off from work and little to do.

I need to sort what I've actually got in my military, what equipment and how many men I've got, etc. My nation is an island nation, its military is WWI base (Canadian Corps mostly) and all other info is explained here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=554572).

I've got three branches as follows;

Morriane Militia - 600,000 men approx (less than 5% total population)
-The Deathwatch, special forces unit...but not in the way you think!

Republic Fleet/Morriane Navy (haven't decided on name yet)
Not every large, just a bunch of ships included battleships and a converted aircraft carrier. Active in imposing a self-imposed blockade of Morrdh.

Morriane Aerial Corps
Falls under the command of the Navy for various reasons.
Formed up of biplanes mostly used for recon patrols and ground attack, supported by gasbag airships.

So basically I need help sorting out what I've actually got. All my equipment is going to be 1905/WWI based, so no missiles or nukes. I'm also thinking of having a Home Guard force of sorts made up of civilian volunteers, though I'm not sure if thats a good idea.

Though the animates mentioned in my factbook could be useful as a deterrant to would be invaders...well the sane ones anyway.

If you are going with such an early tec. level I would drop the aircraft carrier. The British had one and it did not contribute much to the war effort. I would replace it with a seaplane carrier or a Battle-cruiser.
As for gear that is simple
Bolt action rifles
Machine guns
Cannon (37mm up to Railroad sized guns between 8 and 16 inch)
That is about it.

you need to say how many warships you have, types, etcra. I suggest you should train your militia to regular units. The militia is usually the home guard or part time army.

I can help you with this

[OOC: If you're interested, the NationStates Draftroom (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?act=idx) is dedicated to military and civilian hardware design, strategy & tactics and the sale of technology [for NationStates, of course - nothing real]. There have been a number of threads created related to the creation of an armed forces and how to do it, and the replies are helpful. See:

There must be another dozen dating back to when the boards were put up - April 10th, 2007 [over one year old!]. I strongly suggest that you join the NationStates Draftroom (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?act=idx) and ask there.]

Militia is just a name for my army, a supposed left over from when it was supposedly a province of the Ruskkie Empire. The Canadian army was called the Canadian Militia for a good few years unp until the 1920s at least.

Warships I need to work on, probably one battleship, a few cruisers and smaller vessals.

I suggest focus your navy around destoryers and frigates with a few battleships and cruisers. your army should be issued with Lee Enfield's and machine gun's. If you need any help I'm willing to help you.

D:

My military organisation was based off Aequatio's, which was much more comprehensive (http://www.forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=462117).
