Crest of the Kilrany Royal Family (http://fc02.deviantart.com/fs5/i/2004/298/3/c/Phoenix_Crest_by_Aerin_Kayne.jpg)

The Kilrany Empire is an absolute Monarchy ruled by a single family since before the inception of gunpowder on the Kilrany home world, showing distinct Socialist tendency, they look out for the greater well being of their people as a whole while not being restricted to the extremes of either Socialism or Capitalism. Additionally, while technically a monarchy, there are no nobles or serfs within Kilrany, with no class system outside the royal family itself, all people have equal opportunities to succeed or fail based entirely on their own merits; though those who do fail are guaranteed a base line security net to allow for a basic level of living to prevent homelessness.

While they share their home world of Mir with two other nations, the Indrii Republic, and The People's Socialist Republic of Russkya, they have become the decidedly dominant nation, with the Indrii a declared protectorate and the Russkyans a close ally who simply chooses to remain on Mir without any desire to explore the rest of the universe. A naturally paranoid people, the Kilrany had been more then happy to remain in isolation in their small corner of the universe, however recent projects and political pressure from the more inquisitive Indrii have finally led to the Empire shedding its cloak of isolationism and begin feeling out around them for other civilizations.

Current Emperor/Empress: Tanya Semyonovna Sviatova
Population: Seven billion
Capitol: Kilranograd (Mir)
Official Languages: Kilrany (secondary languages include Russkyan and Indrii and remain the sole three active languages on Mir)
National Animal: Sastalyerus (native only to the Kilrany continent)
Number of Worlds: One (Mir is the sole inhabited world, however numerous small research outpost dot the home system while large scale mining operations are conducted in nearby dead systems)

While I wish I had that level of skill, I take absolutely no credit for any artwork linked through this thread, so consider this my disclaimer. I recognize this is a common practice on NS, but I felt the need to make it clear. The ‘universe’ I use is not unique, and is quite honestly an amalgam of many influences, among these would be the Homeworld and Star Wars universes, though they are not identical to what I choose to use and not alone in their influence. While Earth history clearly plays a role, I have taken an understandably revisionist approach, to help separate the two, I chose the name Mir for my home world. This is decidedly a work in progress, so I would appreciate any questions or comments please use my FT OOC Thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=554761)

Major work in progress, while I have a great deal of information on this subject, it is mostly in note form and ultimately needs to be cleaned up, thus this will be a short information stub until I have time to organize it all more legibly. Any questions or comments on what's here, please use the OOC thread.

Military
While the Kilrany military is organized into four separate entities, each maintaining their own chain of command, they all ultimately fall under the control of the Kilrany Royal Family, and are broken up between the Kilrany Imperial Naval Infantry (KINI), the Internal Security Ministry (ISM), the Kilrany Imperial Navy (KIN), and the Imperial Guard (IG).

In all regards the Kilrany Imperial Armed Forces have adopted the use of directed energy weapons known to the Kilrany as Disruptors in favor over conventional projectile weapons and missiles. Though projectile weapons are still commonplace among the general civilian population as Disruptors are illegal outside military use, and cross training with Russkyan military units insures that Kilrany military personnel maintain a healthy respect for them. It is important to note that special units still make use of conventional ballistic weaponry in certain critical roles such as where stealth is required.

Due to the incorporation of Disruptor weaponry, missiles have rapidly fallen out of favour within the Kilrany military due to the relative ease in which engineers found they could be jammed or shot down, leading to a far more limited use on these types of weapons within the Kilrany Imperial Armed Forces. The effectiveness and destructive power in heavier Disruptor weapons is also considered a significant deciding factor. At this time high speed missile weapons with either a large area effect, such as torpedoes carrying extremely high yield thermonuclear warheads aboard warships, or unguided rockets for ground attack have become the accepted norm.

Kilrany Disruptor Energy Weapons
The Kilrany Empire's development of energy based weapons was a long and costly venture to replace the more conventional projectile weapons that finally culminating in the creation of what are now called Disruptors. Initially met with resistance by both the Kilrany and Russkyan military whom were both comfortable with their conventional weapons, the KIAM produced Disruptors quickly won over the Kilrany military in demonstrations that showed them to be highly effective weapons. It is noteworthy to mention that despite refusal of energy based weapons by the Russkyan military, their conventional firearms continued to improve and remain no less lethal then Kilrany Disruptors.

Kilrany Disruptors come in two types broken down into four main categories, some with their own sub-categories. Currently the two types available to the Kilrany Imperial Navy are the Disruptor Cannon, and Disruptor Beam. The Disruptor cannon fires a single bolt of energy with a green tint to it, rate of fire can vary from semi automatic to fully automatic depending on emitter, while the Disruptor Beam fires a single solid beam of energy; like the cannon with a green tint, the beam generally lasts between two to five seconds depending on size and setting of emitter. There is no comparable difference in damaging effect between the Cannon and Beam type, however the energy from the cannon delivers its force in one area, while the beam can sweep over a target. It is notable that the cannon variant is preferred for non-naval vessels, and is not seen in use outside their massive hulls.

Kilrany Disruptors are categorized into four distinct categories, Light, Medium, Heavy and Super-Heavy, though it is important to note that while medium and heavy class disruptors appear on both ground, and space based platforms, they are not of the same power output, as those based on naval warships are significantly more powerful.

Light:
Typically in use for small arms and mounted on vehicles as an anti personnel weapon, it has four distinct types. There is negligent recoil in light Disruptor weapons that cover the range of pistol, carbine, rifle, repeating disruptor, and sniper rifle. Aside from the LRD, all light disruptor types feed in the same magazine, though alternate capacities are achieved dependant on the weapon the cell is loaded in.

Disruptor Pistol:
This type covers the smallest Disruptor type in use by the Kilrany Imperial Navy, the Disruptor Pistol issued as a general sidearm to all personnel, it has only one setting and a safety, it is considered lethal. The Disruptor Pistol is a semi-automatic weapon, capable of being fired as fast as one can pull the trigger. While the bolt is still lethal out to two hundred meters, beyond the fifty meter point, the limitations of aiming a pistol take affect and user accuracy suffers. Expected cell capacity is three hundred rounds.

A second class of the pistol exists, locked in at a low power setting, its maximum effective range is fifty meters and is equivalent to a modern taser, making use of the less lethal effects of the primary disruptor bolt, though it is by no means entirely non-lethal, but is a suitable replacement for the full power pistol for use by prison guards and law enforcement. Expected cell capacity is four hundred rounds.

Disruptor Rifle/Carbine:
This type covers the next size up in small arms, the Disruptor Rifle and Carbine, generally issued to the Naval Infantry as a weapon with a higher output, better range, and a greater level of damage caused. The Disruptor Rifle is a semi-automatic and fully automatic weapon that includes rails for customized equipment and a lug on the end for the addition of a bayonet. Range with the carbine is slightly less for its compact size and is preferred by KINI stationed about spacecraft for its compact size. Carbine is rated for a lethal range of five hundred meters, while the rifle is rated for eight hundred and is typically given to designated marksmen, rate of fire on full automatic is 300 rounds per minute. Expected cell capacity is two hundred rounds.

Repeating Disruptor:
Also known as the LRD, it is the second heaviest type carried as a small arms weapon and is typically seen on ground vehicles and landing craft for the role of antipersonnel duties. Comparable to the projectile GPMGs it was designed to replace, it has a high rate of fire, though the small arms variant has a noticeably increased power cell size to accommodate the more rapid release of energy in its use. Rate of fire is 900 rounds per minute while the vehicle-mounted variants have a rate of fire of 1200 rounds a minute. Expected cell capacity for the small arms variant is eight hundred rounds while the vehicle mount has no capacity limit as it runs off the vehicle's own power supply.

Sniper rifle:
Identical in appearance to the rifle variant, the simple difference between this rifle and the other is range, which comes at the expense of rate of fire and magazine capacity. Fitted with a variable magnification scope, the weapon is intended for use as its name implies, for use by specially trained snipers in the Kilrany military for the purpose of personnel elimination. Lethal range is two thousand meters with an expected cell capacity of eighty rounds.

Medium:
A general purpose weapon typically used in ground combat by small fighter craft, and as lighter, faster firing weapons on capitol ships for the purposes of anti-fighter/anti-missile duties; impact by Disruptors of this category and higher are typically explosive in nature. This category covers the medium disruptor cannon and medium repeating disruptor cannon, which have slight, but important differences. For ground units, the differences between the two would be akin to that between a one hundred millimeter cannon and a thirty millimeter autocannon.

The MPATD (man portable anti-tank Disrupter, pronounced empat) also falls under this category, designed to replace the projectile anti-armour weapons such as rocket propelled grenades, and is expected to counter light to medium vehicles, though with sustained fire it is still a threat to heavier armour.

Heavy Disruptors:
Designed for use by only the largest of ground vehicles against heavy enemy ground units and fortifications and for space borne capitol craft in fleet engagements, both models are highly explosive in nature and not something to be on the receiving end of. Typically they are mounted in heavier, slower turrets.

Super-Heavy Disruptor:
This category was created to cover the single largest Disruptor type created for the Imperial Navy, designed as a capitol ship killer and planetary defense weapon, it is seen in limited numbers only on the largest of Kilrany capitol ships; typically in fixed firing angles, and ground installations. It has a safe cycle rate of ten seconds between firing, although capable of firing after six seconds, it is inadvisable to fire at a faster rate as it can cause the weapon to overload and become useless. I should note that this is not supposed to bear any resemblance to super heavy lasers from Star Wars, it’s simply hard to avoid the term, it is not my intent for this to be a one shot, one kill weapon.

Kilrany Imperial Naval Infantry concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/KilranyImperialNavalInfantrymen-1.jpg?t=1209527825)
Much like their ancestral unit, the KINI fulfill the role of ground forces and shipboard security for the Kilrany Empire, a role that was given fully over to them upon the massive restructuring of the Kilrany regular military forces when the ability to travel through space became a reasonably possible. Current census places the numbers for the KINI at around two million combat troops.

Internal Security Ministry
While technically a military organization, the ISM fulfills their long time role of a national police force for the Kilrany Empire, and at the Indrii home continent at the request of the Indrii Republic. Typically heavily armoured and armoured, it is not unusual to see them using armoured vehicles in their patrols through larger cities.

Armoured units currently available to Kilrany ground forces including the ISM - Basic stat blocks and information stubs, perhaps with more inspiration I can get more detailed, as it stands I’ve never been good at creating weapon descriptions of any kind for NS.

Assault Droid concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/AssaultDroid.jpg?t=1209527380)
Type: Light bipedal tank
Height: 2 meters
Length: 1 meter
Width: 1 meter
Crew: AI
Speed: 10 kph
Armament:
Two arm mounted modules capable of supporting the following; twin light repeating disruptors, single medium disruptor cannon.

A rather simple and venerable design, the Assault Droid has been in production for centuries in various models, all upgraded as newer, more efficient technology came along, or simply recycled and replaced if deemed more cost effective. Outwardly it has the appearance of powered armour, but appearances are deceiving, contained within its armoured hulk lay a complex artificial intelligence that commands this 'shock trooper'. With powered armour deemed to not be cost effective, the Assault Droid is used to provide close, direct fire support for the KINI in easy to transport form, equally capable of going many places they can. Typically the AD is transported in the aft quarters of a Beta Class Assault Shuttle and is dropped prior to the landing of any KINI within, though it has seen use in sentry duty at some military facilities.

Contained on the back of each unit is a low power anti-gravity system used to decrease the overall weight of the Assault Droid allowing it easier and slightly less noisy movement while granting the droid greater agility over uneven terrain and soft earth. If desired by the AI in control of unit, the Assault Droid is capable of using the anti-grav system to make a short range jump up to twenty meters.

Minotaur concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Minotaur.jpg?t=1209527409)
Type: medium quadruped tank
Height: 2 meters
Length: 3 meters
Width: 1 meter
Crew: AI
Speed: 5 kph
Armament:
Two twin light repeating disruptors housed on either side of primary upper chassis.
Two single medium disruptor cannons mounted on weapon pylons on primary upper chassis.
Special Equipment:
Deflector shield

The Minotaur came about as a desire by the Kilrany Imperial Navy to provide heavy, mobile defense of a capitol ship from boarding actions. While this may or may not be an actual to current Kilrany warships, designs continue to make accommodations for this heavy quadruped. Special alcoves are added to corridors near critical sections of KIN warships that contain the AI controlled droid until its presence is required.

Much slower then the Assault Droid, the Minotaur is not intended for use outside of Kilrany military facilities, where it's less ideal in operations. With its heavy legs the droid is capable of placing itself in a corridor and blocking it off using a combination of its deflector shield to both protect itself and seal off the corridor, and heavy armaments to eliminate or suppress any attackers. To aid in this, the weapon systems on the Minotaur are not in fixed positions, but are able to adjust several degrees; in the case of the medium disruptors, nearly twenty degrees.

Hades concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/btr80-4.jpg?t=1209527450)
Type: general purpose armoured personnel carrier
Height: 2.5 meters
Length: 9 meters
Width: 3 meters
Crew: 2
Speed: 120 kph
Armament:
Single medium repeating disruptor cannon mounted in high angle turret mount.
Single light repeating disruptor mounted coaxial to medium disruptor cannon.
Quadruple rocket tubes mounted opposite coaxial LRD.

A modern take on an old concept, the Hades is an eight-wheeled armoured personnel carrier created with the simple purpose of transporting KINI to the battlefield and protecting them while on route. While it is ill advised for the Hades to combat other vehicles, its armament allow it to pose a threat to most foreseeable hostile threats and provide support for KINI. As an added bonus for the KINI, within its troop bay are several slots created for the purpose of recharging the power cells of KIAM produced light disruptors. It also has the added bonus of being fully amphibious without any need for preparations.

Loki concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Loki.jpg?t=1209527486)
Type: light reconnaissance tank
Height: 2.4 meters
Length: 6.5 meters
Width: 2.5 meters
Crew: 2
Speed: 140 kph
Armament:
Single medium disruptor cannon mounted in armoured turret.
Two coaxial mounted light repeating disruptors on either side of medium disruptor cannon.
Single light repeating disruptor located in overhead weapons station atop armoured turret.
Special Equipment:
Deflector shield
Cloaking Device
The Loki is an unusual design seen in service with the Kilrany military as it makes full use of anti-gravity propulsion systems of allow the armoured vehicle to 'hover' a third of a meter off the ground. Always considered a questionable technology for use in military ground vehicles, the role of the Loki was the sole reason the design was passed and entered into production. Designed to be quick and agile, the Loki serves as light reconnaissance vehicle and is outfitted with several passive sensor systems to aid in this endeavor.

Unlike other Kilrany armoured vehicles, the fact that the Loki hovers above the ground allows for the use of deflector shields, making up for its lightweight armour should it be discovered and be forced to either engage or retreat. Like most Kilrany armoured vehicles, the crew is made up of a driver and commander, with an AI system controlling the vehicles weapon systems and receiving targeting orders from the commander, or operating on free fire orders should the commander allow it.

I have no concept art for the Nizhom and Nizhomskaya, as they are originally MT products by Russkyan used here with his permission. I would use his detailed write up, but it’s larger then all my stubs put together, so I believe I shall leave this as it is for the time being. Though I suppose the closest visual example would be the BTR-T and the BMP-T respectively.
Nizhom
Type: heavy armoured personnel carrier
Height: 2.2 meters
Length: 9 meters
Width: 3.6 meters
Crew: 2 + 12
Speed: 80 kph
Armament:
Single medium repeating disruptor cannon mounted in high angle turret mount.
Two coaxial mounted light repeating disruptors on either side of medium disruptor cannon.

Similar to the origins of the Hades, the Nizhom is an old Russkyan design for a heavy armoured personnel carrier built at one time under DPR by the Kilrany. While the size and appearance remain almost identical, this version of the Nizhom benefits current Kilrany technologies, which continue to make this simply design an effective one. Unlike the Hades however, the use of treads; while limiting top speed, greatly increase its performance on rough terrain, which should come as little surpise.

Nizhomskaya
Type: multi-purpose direct fire support tank
Height: 2.2 meters
Length: 9 meters
Width: 3.6 meters
Crew: 2
Speed: 80 kph
Armament:
Four medium repeating disruptor cannons mounted in a quadruple mount on primary high angle turret
Eight rocket tubes, two quadruple mounts on either side of primary turret.
Twin light repeating disruptors mounted in forward overhead weapons station.

Using the identical hull as the Nizhom, the troop bay is replaced with a turret mount, allowing the Nizhomskaya to fulfill multiple support roles for the KINI, providing heavier direct fire support then their troop transports with the added ability to engage hostile enemy fighter or ground attack craft with devastating accuracy and protect friendly ground forces.

Tyr concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Tyr.jpg?t=1209527533)
Type: main battle tank
Height: 2.6 meters
Length: 7.5 meters
Width: 3.6 meters
Crew: 2
Speed: 80 kph
Armament:
Single heavy disruptor cannon mounted in armoured turret.
Single medium repeating disruptor cannon mounted coaxial to heavy disruptor.
Two light repeating disruptors in two single mount overhead weapon stations.

Keeping in mind that the need to take ground objectives is unlikely to disappear any time even with the ability to call in orbital strikes, the Tyr is designed with one simple task, destroying enemy armour. Heavily armoured and armed, the Tyr is the pinnacle of KIAM conventional armour, blending the best the KIAM could accomplish with speed, armour and weaponry for this main battle tank. It is noteworthy to mention that while original schematics suggested a double treaded system, it was eventually scrapped for a single continuous conventional tread layout.

Using an AI gunner system, the commander of a Tyr has the option of letting the AI system control all weapon systems on the vehicles, including the two OWS, or taking manual control and firing them himself.

Kersnik concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Kersnik.jpg?t=1209527553)
Type: indirect fire support
Height: 4 meters
Length: 13 meters
Width: 3.2 meters
Crew: 2
Speed: 90 kph
Armament:
Single one hundred and fifty millimeter heavy gun.
Twin light repeating disruptors in single overhead weapon station.

Given the inherent need for indirect fire support, and the inability for the KIAM Disruptor to fulfill that role, the Kersnik is one of the sole throwbacks to warfare in which heavy projectiles are still used for the Kilrany. Using large, heavy shells, the Kersnik can provide devastating fire support on any target called out by the KINI. The main gun on this artillery piece is capable of lobbing their shells up to eighty kilometers.

Timber Wolf concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/TimberWolf.jpg?t=1209527581)
Type: heavy direct fire support bipedal tank
Height: 8 meters
Length: 7 meters
Width: 7 meters
Crew: AI
Speed: 70 kph
Armament:
Two arm modules capable of supporting the following; triple medium disruptor cannons, single heavy disruptor cannon.
Two hull modules capable of supporting the following; twin light repeating disruptors, medium repeating disruptor cannon with single LRD.
Two rocket 'boxes' on either side up upper rear hull holding six rockets each.

The Timber Wolf is perhaps one of the more unusual Kilrany AI controlled bipedal tanks, if only in its scale, standing nearly three stories tall, the mech carries a large number of heavy weapons under the control of a integrated and highly complex AI completely capable of operating on its own or in support of a large assault. Much like its smaller cousin the Assault Droid, the Timber Wolf is equipped with two low power anti-gravity systems to reduce the overall weight of the vehicle and allow for short jumps nearly thirty meters long.

Kilrany Imperial Navy concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/KINUniformtypes.gif?t=1209568263)
With military, ocean going vessels a thing of the past, this organization now fulfills the role of controlling space around the Kilrany home world, and maintaining security in systems in use by the Kilrany Empire. While AI constructs and drones are commonplace on their warships, the KIN continue to maintain reasonable contingents of warm bodies to crew their space going craft. Current census places the numbers for the KIN at around one point two million crewmen.

Naval warships, stations and platforms available to the Kilrany Imperial Navy - Basic stat blocks and information stubs, perhaps with more inspiration I can get more detailed, as it stands I’ve never been good at creating weapon descriptions of any kind for NS.

Warships:
Scythe concept art - profile one (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Scytheprofileone.jpg), profile two (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Scytheprofiletwo.jpg), profile three (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Scytheprofilethree.jpg), profile four (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Scytheprofilefour.jpg)
Type: Space Superiority Drone
Height: 2 meters
Length: 6 meters
Beam: 2 meters
Crew: none
Armament:
2 medium repeating disruptors cannons
Defenses: Deflector Shields

With the Scythe, the Kilrany Imperial Arms Manufactures applied KISS principles in their design, using an AI control system they created a highly maneuverable and cost effective fighter drone capable of sweeping space around KIN warships clean of hostile enemy strike craft. This specialization highly limits the versatility of the Scythe however, as it is wholly incapable of doing any significant damage to hostile warships, though it is noted that even its limited firepower would likely be effective against foreseeable enemy freighters should extra firepower be needed. Like the Wraith, the tail section of the Scythe is capable of angling inwards slightly to allow landing.

Wraith Class concept art - profile one (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Wraithprofileone.jpg), profile two (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Wraithprofiletwo.jpg), profile three (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Wraithprofilethree.jpg)
Type: Heavy Bomber Drone
Height: 2 meters
Length: 10 meters
Beam: 4 meters
Crew: none
Armament:
2 Twin heavy Disruptor cannons
1 twin Medium repeating Disruptor Cannon
Defenses: Deflector Shields

The Wraith is a dedicated, heavy-bomber drone created by KIAM for the KIN in light of the limitation inherent in the Scythe; it is capable of both space and atmospheric flight and is designed for use against capitol ships and ground support of the KINI. While KIAM followed similar KISS principles, they did add a single forward firing twin mount for the medium repeating disruptor, allowing it to engage fighter craft should it be necessary, however this is considered of questionable use. The Wraith's aft fins are capable of folding themselves against the craft to allow it to land.

Alpha Type Assault Shuttle concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/AssaultTransport.jpg), one of only two designs I can take credit for, MS Paint clearly has its limitations
Type: Military Transport Shuttle and Gunship
Height: 2.5 meters
Length: 16 meters

Transport Module:
Height: 3 meters
Length: 20 meters
Beam: 10 meters
Armament:
2 Twin Light Repeating Disruptor turrets controllable by squad inside, or by gunners of attached shuttle

Both the Alpha and the Beta Type Assault Shuttle share the same design, the only noticeable outward difference being scale in which they are built in. Without the transport module, the Alpha is capable of landing a KINI squad, and the Beta a KINI Platoon, while both carry sufficient firepower to provide close air support if required.

Spectre concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Spectreprofile.jpg)
Type: Combat Reconnaissance
Height: 60 meters
Length: 200 meters
Beam: 150 meters
Crew: 128, 48 Naval Infantrymen

Defenses: Deflector Shields and cloaking device
Hangar: 8 Alpha Type Assault Shuttles, 8 Beta Type Assault Shuttles, 24 Scythe, 24 Wraith

Transport Module:
Height: 40
Length: 200 meters
Beam: 72 meters
Height: 30 meters
Armament:
4 twin heady Disruptor cannon turrets
8 twin Disruptor cannon turrets
Defenses: Deflector Shields

The Assault Transport is designed to transport and support a KINI Brigade in combat operations on foreign planets and on Mir, whether in assault or defense. The module contains a limited Theatre Shield to protect the immediate area of landing. Shares outer design layout with Alpha and Beta Shuttles.

Vigilant concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Vigilantprofile.jpg)
Type: Heavy Escort
Height: 75 meters
Length: 300 meters
Beam: 100
Crew: 256, 96 Naval Infantrymen
Armament:
4 Twin Heavy Disruptor Cannons Turrets
10 Twin Medium Disruptor Cannon turrets
20 Twin Medium Repeating Disruptor Cannon turrets
Defenses: Deflector Shields, Cloaking Device
Hangar: 2 Alpha Type Assault Shuttles, 12 Scythe

The Vigilant shares several design characteristics with the Havoc class Battleship, understandable as it was created by the same design team and specifically designed to supplement the firepower of the Havoc. This frigate carries multiple fast tracking light armaments to protect the larger battleship from missiles and strike craft.

Vanguard concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Vanguardprofile.jpg)
Type: Destroyer
Height: 150 meters
Length: 600 meters
Beam: 150 meters
Crew: 512, 96 Naval Infantrymen
Armament:
4 Heavy Disruptor Beams

40 Twin Medium Disruptor Cannon turrets
40 Twin Medium Repeating Disruptor Cannon turrets
6 Torpedo Launchers
Defenses: Deflector Shields, Cloaking Device
Hangar: 8 Alpha Type Assault Shuttles, 24 Scythe

The KIAM Vanguard is one of the most prolific ships in the Kilrany Imperial Navy; it’s designed for long-range patrols and to provide protection to capitol class warships against corvettes, frigates and other destroyers. In number the Vanguard is a significant threat to cruisers and even battleships.

Sword concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Swordprofile.jpg)
Type: Cruiser
Height: 160 meters
Length: 800 meters
Beam: 160 meters
Crew: 1080, 288 Naval Infantrymen

Next to the Vanguard, the Sword class is found in great numbers within the Kilrany Imperial Navy, and while simplistic in design, fulfills its assigned role rather well, whether it's as part of a fleet supplementing the firepower of larger capitol class warships, or at the heart of a small task force. The vessel does suffer however from limited defense against strike craft, thus is rarely seen alone far from Kilrany space.

Athena concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Athena.jpg)
Type: Explorer
Height: 180 meters
Length: 800 meters
Beam: 740 meters
Crew: 1152, 384 Naval Infantrymen, 520 Civilian Scientists/researchers
Armament:
2 Heavy Disruptor Beams
12 Twin Heavy Disruptor Cannon Turrets
40 Twin Medium Disruptor Cannon Turrets
40 Twin Medium Repeating Disruptor Cannon Turrets
2 Torpedo Launchers
Defenses: Deflector Shields, Cloaking Device
Hangar: 8 Alpha Type Assault Shuttles, 8 Beta Type Assault Shuttles, 24 Scythe

The Athena class is a rarity in the Kilrany Imperial Navy, developed initially to be a battleship, she was however redesigned for use as an exploration vessel upon loosing the competition to the Havoc class, rather then scrap the entire project. To accommodate this mission to start more in depth exploration of the universe around them, most of her heavier weapons were replaced with enhanced sensor arrays aimed more for planetary survey, as well as to allow for lab stations, leaving her lightly armed for her size by KIN standards. What truly sets this craft apart from other Kilrany warships however is the accommodation for large numbers of civilian scientists and researchers, drawn mostly from the Indrii, as ships of the Athena class are the only type to carry them.

10 Heavy Disruptor Beams
10 Torpedo Launchers
Defenses: Deflector Shields, Cloaking Device
Hangar: 4 Alpha Type Assault Shuttles, 2 Beta Type Assault Shuttles, 32 Scythe

The Tyemniy was designed with one simple purpose in mind, to seek out and destroy cruisers. It's entire armament and armour scheme takes this into account, faster then the Havoc or Ares, she suffers from weaker armour, and while against a cruiser she can be crippling, the Tyemniy is
outclassed in armour plating by a proper battleship, and should never be used one on one in such an engagement.

Type: Battleship
Height: 400 meters
Length: 1200 meters
Beam: 600 meters
Crew: 1350, 192 Naval Infantrymen
Armament:
14 Twin Heavy Disruptor Cannons Turrets
8 Triple Heavy Disruptor Cannon Turrets

1 Super Heavy Disruptor Cannon Turret
6 Torpedo Launchers
Defenses: Deflector Shields, Cloaking Device
Hangar: 4 Alpha Type Assault Shuttles, 4 Beta Type Assault Shuttles, 24 Scythe, 24 Wraith

After winning out over the Athena class, the Havoc became the Kilrany Imperial Navy’s principal Battleship, second only to the Ares in firepower, and sharing its design with the vigilant, the Havoc has an unusual tail section. Unlike any other warship in the KIN, the Havoc also features a single super heavy disruptor; typically seen used for planetary defense positions, located in a large turret on the upper hull. Much like the Ares, the Havoc remains a highly prestigious ship to command.

The Ares was built to carry the fight to the enemy; it is the largest known KIN combat vessel and is a formidable threat to any enemy capitol ship. However due to the fact that the mass bulk of its heavy weapons are focused forward, there is a potential danger in being flanked, if flanked, it suffers a drastic drop in the firepower it's capable of immediately bringing to bear, however it is not defenseless in such a state. The Ares is considered the most prestigious ship in the Kilrany Imperial Navy to captain and is also one of the only KIN vessel to carry the Super Heavy Disruptor category of weapons.

Assault Carrier
Type: Super Heavy military transport
Height: 500 meters
Length: 1600 meters
Beam: 1000 meters
Crew: 700, 240 Naval Infantrymen
Armament:
14 Twin Heavy Disruptor Cannon Turrets
100 Twin Medium Disruptor Cannon Turrets
100 Twin Medium Repeating Disruptor Cannon Turrets
Defenses: Deflector Shields and cloaking device
Hangar: 8 Assault Transports

The Assault Carrier is yet another scaled up version of the Assault Shuttle, it is designed to hold 8 Assault transports; an entire KINI Regiment, and transport them as needed while carrying suitable firepower to protect it from anything short of an enemy fleet. Typically never deployed on it's own. Aside from the Combat Carrier, the Assault Carrier is the sole variant of this design not to carry a module.

Combat Carrier
Type: Super Heavy Military Carrier

100 Twin Medium Disruptor Cannon Turrets
100 Twin Medium Repeating Disruptor Cannon Turrets
Defenses: Deflector Shields and cloaking device
Hangar: 1200 Scythe, 1200 Wraith, 20 Alpha Type Assault Shuttles modified as recovery craft.

Identical in appearance to the Assault Carrier, except instead of 8 Assault Transports, it's bays are slotted to carry mass numbers of drones and a number of recovery craft in support of a KIN fleet. Never deployed alone. Aside from the Assault Carrier, the Combat Carrier is the sole variant of this design not to carry a module.

Crew: none
Armament:
6 Twin Heavy Disruptor Cannons
6 Twin Medium Repeating Disruptor Cannon turrets
3 Heavy Disruptor Beams
Defenses: Deflector Shields

The Sentinel Space Defense Platform is a basic hull for several variants, all intended to protect the Kilrany Empire's home solar system from potential outside aggression. The Primary variant is as stated above, and seen the most, other variants are the Shadow Sentinel, identical to the Sentinel except it is equipped with a cloaking device, these are seen mostly near the outer edge of the system. All models include low power drives to allow movement, in the cases of the Shadow Sentinel and the Sentinel, it allows the weapon system to re-orient itself to face whatever direction the target is in and maintain an arranged relative position.

60 Medium Disruptor Cannons Turrets
60 Medium Repeating Disruptor Cannon Turrets
Defenses: Deflector Shields
Hangar: 10 Alpha Type Assault Shuttles, 120 Scythe, 120 Wraith

And older defensive station design, the Chimera was created to control 'blocks' of Sentinel platforms and provide hangar space for a large contingent of Wraith drones with which to defend the Mir solar system. Despite the creation of the Cerberus stations, the Chimera retains its pivotal role in KIN defensive doctrine due to its inclusion of a large hyperspace inhibitor field generator and gravitational sensor array. While an aging design, it remains effective, and thus no plans have yet been made to decommission still operational Chimera stations.

Cerberus concept art – profile one ( http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Cerberusprofileone.jpg), concept art – profile two ( http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Cerberusprofiletwo.jpg)
Type: Heavy defense platform

80 Medium Repeating Disruptor Cannon Turrets
10 Torpedo Launchers
Defenses: Deflector Shields
Hangar: 10 Alpha Type Assault Shuttles, 48 Scythe, 48 Wraith

Much like the Sentinel, the Cerberus is intended to provide heavy defensive firepower for the Mir solar system in replacement of the older Chimera. Many times greater in size then the Sentinel, original plans called for the station to be automated as well, instead they were given crew quarters and ultimately designed to work as central command positions for defensive 'blocks' of Sentinel platforms in supplement of the Chimera stations.

Hephaestus concept art ( http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/Hephaestus.jpg)
Type: Space Station and Shipyard
Height: 1700 meters
Beam: 5000 meters
Crew: 7200, 3072 Naval Infantrymen
Armament:
10 Heavy Triple Disruptor Cannons
40 Twin Medium Disruptor Cannons Turrets
40 Medium Repeating Disruptor Cannon Turrets
10 Torpedo Launchers
Defenses: Deflector Shields
Hangar: 50 Alpha Type Assault Shuttles, 120 Scythe, 120 Wraith

The Hephaestus stations are found only in orbit of the Kilrany Empire's home world at this time and serves the dual purposes of orbital defense station and shipyard for the Kilrany Imperial Navy. Numerous large hangars pocket each outer 'arm' of the station as well as several on the inner ring.

The shipyard facilities however are scheduled to be decommissioned upon successful completion of Project Infernus, at which time the current stations will be relegated to space borne defense stations. Though their construction and repair capabilities are intended to remain in the event re-commissioning is required. An additional model was drawn up for the Hephaestus, but never built, it called for it to be used as a trading station, as the Kilrany begin to explore the universe around them, it was once again brought back to the drawing boards should it become useful.

Kilrany Imperial Guard concept art (http://fc02.deviantart.com/fs8/i/2005/312/b/8/SOTD_11_9_2005_by_shakken.jpg)
An elite military organization dating back prior to the creation of the Kilrany Empire, these original units that eventually became one of the five Divisions (also known as sections) of the IG after their critical involvement in the unification war of Old Kilrany. Currently they are divided into five Divisions (not to be mistaken for actual military Division sizes), each with their own areas of responsibility. Equipment available to the Imperial Guard, including ground and space, is almost identical to equipment available to regular Kilrany military units. Current census places the numbers for the IG at around one point five million combat troops and warship crewmen, not counting forces in use by 5th Division.

1st Division
Armed identically to the combat sections of the Imperial Guard, though uniformed similarly to 5th Division, they provide close security protection for the Kilrany Royal Family and persons of interest, usually including government officials.

2nd Division
Functions in the role of armoured shock troops, intended to force open a breach in enemy defensive lines to be exploited by the remaining conventional forces of the Kilrany Imperial Armed Forces, typically heavy in heavy armour, and mechanized-infantry, backed. Both the Second and Third Divisions are identical in composition.

3rd Division
See 2nd Division

4th Division
Also a combat division within the IG, they were once an air assault force, however with the advent of space travel and subsequently combat therein, they now serve in a similar role to the Kilrany Imperial Navy. Operating their own warships and transport craft for the purposes of moving 2nd and 3rd Division to combat operations.

Length: 4000 meters
Beam: 2400 meters
Crew: 32768, 12288 Imperial Guardsmen
Armament:
44 Octuple Heavy Disruptor Cannon Turrets
1000 Twin Medium Disruptor Cannon Turrets
1000 Quad Medium Repeating Disruptor Cannon Turrets
6 Super Heavy Disruptor Cannons, forward firing only.
20 Torpedo Launchers
Defenses: Deflector Shields, Cloaking Device
Hangar: 20 Alpha Type Assault Shuttles, 20 Beta Type Assault Shuttles, 480 Scythe

The Vengeance Class does not fit into any currently known KIN category, in fact, the KIN is not even aware of its existence, it is a extremely classified class of ship built in secret by the Imperial Guard. Even the location of a shipyard large enough to build such an enormous class is not known to anyone outside of the Imperial Guard and the Kilrany Royal Family. It represents the culmination of current knowledge and unlike the Havoc and Ares classes, does not suffer from a lack of firepower on its flanks.

The Vengeance carries six of the enormous Super Heavy Disruptor Cannons and all of them can be jettisoned off the hull if damage to them is taken. In the case of the two twin mounts under the main hull, they are part of a modular system that at any time can be released from the hull or reattached as necessary, the twin mounts also carry their own power generators and low power engine systems to allow them to operate independently of the main vessel.

5th Division
This section of the Imperial Guard fulfills several roles; chief among them is that of intelligence gathering, and special-forces operations in conjunction with the other Divisions of the Imperial Guard and regular military forces. Highly secretive, few outside their organization beyond the royal family have any knowledge of their inner workings, typically employing fear tactics and a created mythos in regard to themselves to insure public fear of their actions.

The Wolf class' development began initially as an inside joke by KIAM designers, who wondered how big they could make the Vengeance class hull, eventually they realized that they were only limited by the amount of resources that Kilrany could collect, so they instead set about seeing what they could do with it if they made it twenty kilometers long. In the end even they were amazed with what they finished with. The design may have faded there, however unknown to the KIAM designers their progress was being monitored by 5th Division, and being most impressed with the vessel and the sheer destructive firepower it carried, set about the task of having the ship built at the hidden Imperial Guard shipyard located inside the second moon of Mir.

It had taken two years to increase the Imperial Guard facility's size in secret to accommodate the ship's construction. Engineers overseeing the construction droids knew that the ship was going to 5th Division, but none of them could figure out how they were going to man the monster of a ship.

With such a massive ship under the command of 5th Division, they chose instead of one single powerful AI; which was possible, to install five of these AI; in a somewhat symbolic action, as dedicated control for several sections, weapons, engineering, network security, internal security, and finally drone command. While the entire ship can run without any human input, it retains numerous crew quarters and personnel spaces for use by 5th Division personnel, who also intend the ship to be a fall back point should Mir itself come under attack and both the 5th Division Council and the Kilrany Royal Family need to be evacuated.

As an additional feature, its sheer size has allowed it to contain a small molecular furnace in between its two primary drone hangars, allowing it to collect resources and use them to build replacement drones for both its fighter force and security detachments. It is important to note however that due to the small size of this addition, it is not capable of building them at great speed, and thus is not capable of immediate replenishment if losses are incurred in combat in significant numbers even if the recourses are available.

Current status: under construction

Project Damocles
Current status: under construction concept art (http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l93/Kilrany/HyperspaceInhibitor.jpg)
A reference to the Sword of Damocles, used by the Kilrany as an allegory to denote the sense of foreboding and paranoia caused by a perilous situation, thus it was deemed a perfect heading for a project intended to ease Kilrany fears of unauthorized ingress into inhabited Kilrany systems.

With recently enacted plans to begin exploring the universe around the Kilrany home system of Mir, a long tabled design was brought back into the light of day for consideration. It was quickly cleared for full-scale production after an update to the basic design, resource gathering for the project was also begun in conjunction with Project Midgard; however the smaller scale of the project meant it received a lower priority in comparison.

Project Damocles calls for the creation of fourteen large constructs around the Mir and Midgard systems, creating a spherical grid around them; while small in scale compared to project Midgard, these constructs were to be no less impressive for their role. Each construct is designed for the sole purpose of preventing any and all unauthorized hyperspace travel in or out of either the Mir home system, or the Midgard system, by creating a massive hyperspace inhibitor field with each generator created in mutual support of the others, requiring the destruction or disabling of more then one to bypass.

Each station is to be made up of eight modular components that serve to generate the required field strength to achieve its function, with one section designed to accommodate command and control of the station itself, and its defenses. While each section is not directly connected to the other, the total size of each station is estimated to be roughly twenty percent of the total size of Mir.

Project Infernus
Current status: complete
Taken from old Mir Latin, the word infernus, meaning "being underneath"; while often translated as "Hell", was deemed suitable for the project name intended replace the aging Hephaestus space borne shipyards.

Compared to other Kilrany projects, Infernus pales in comparison, being by far the most straightforward and least costly of them all. The project called for the excavating of several large pits into Tyemniy, the second moon of Mir; the first being Svyet. The groundwork for such a project had already been laid in secret by the Imperial Guard, who had used the cover of the moon’s research stations and supply depots; protected by scattering fields, to build a secure construction facility for their own warships over a century before.

Original concepts for the replacement of the Hephaestus stations had been broad in their imagining, ultimately Infernus proved to be the most ideal. Opposite the Imperial Guard facility on Tyemniy, six pits were dug and then fortified, creating five kilometer deep and three kilometer wide construction hangars in a rough rectangular shape; while currently more then capable of building any ship in the KIN arsenal, room was left for expansion if necessary between each subsequent construction hangar.

While the scattering fields set up over the surface of Tyemniy prevents sensor readings of the moon, steps were also taken to visually disguise these hangars, identical to work done with the Imperial Guard facility. Large, heavy hangar doors close off the facilities while construction is ongoing and only open for departure of newly built or repaired ships, or entry of ships undergoing maintenance. Additional precautions were taken including the use of stealth field generators to cause the hangar doors to appear as nothing more then natural lunar surface.

As a final step, material used in construction is first transported to a supply depot built near the construction facilities, where they are then transported through underground tunnel to the facilities themselves.
