Al-Burj, Tallest Building Under Construction, is Destroyed! 800 Dead!
http://kuusanmaki.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2007/03/Al_Burj_t.jpg
The Al-Burj Building is currently the tallest standing structure in the world, surpassing the famous Burj Dubai by a few hundred meters.
ADEN, Southern Arabia,
On 9:11AM yesterday, A very terrible thing happened to the Al-Burj Building, which is currently under construction. The building collapsed as many workers were building on it, and 792 men and women died. The cause of the tragedy is currently unknown; some saw an explosion on or near the ground floor, while others claim it just toppeled over because of the weight. Al-Burj has been critisized for being very top-heavy.
Al-Burj is under construction for being the tallest building in the world, even taller than the famous Burj Dubai, also in Southern Arabia.
The police are looking for clues, and if an explosive device was at the scene. If so, the nation will be on a manhunt for these terrible terrorists. A memorial will be placed on the blast site.

Communications of the Republic
The American Federated Republic offers its condolences for the attack or accident - whatver it may be determined to have been; though we do encourage Southern Arabia to proceed with an open mind in the investigation and not proceed to hasty conclusions.

Immediately after the collapse of the building and a short conference call with President DeLèan between the National Security Directorate (NSD) and the Military Advisors. The President who was currently in Cairo issued her instructions and things were starting to happen very fast inside the empire. DEFCON 4 was set nation wide; for prepared military readiness; The Royal Navy had been placed on Coastal Patrol in the Red sea, Mediterranean sea; and Persian Gulf. Twenty River-class patrol boats out on the Shores patrolling the close littoral waters and a further Ten Type 44 Daring-class destroyers on patrol out past 5 km; virtually three destroyers per region the Type 45’s excellent Multi role destroyers. With there SKYLER VLS system able to accommodate Storm-shadow Cruise missiles though also excellent anti-air destroyers when equipped with the Aster IV Surface to air missile for surprising enemy aircraft all Military Naval Ports also activated their coastal defence weapon systems
Royal Airforce aircraft were also placed on combat aerial Patrol, in which every military capital is subject to a 12-hour aerial patrol period: Every four hours, twelve aircraft usually F-15I or Typhoons patrol a 25 km radius around each base with in-flight fuelling from KE-34 tankers. Combat air patrols in the south near the Arabian border were also doubled up with F-16I’s loaded for ground attack using cluster munitions and AIM-9X Sidewinders for air to air engagements. Unmanned Air vehicles began 24 hours surveillance from high altitude covering every inch of the southern border with eyes and ears. Border Checkpoints and observation posts were also put on the highest alert status while Merkava Tank regiments and artillery was starting to be mobilised. In 36 hours three divisions could be tapped and moved to the south of the country to repel any attack One thing was certain should the Arabian regime be stupid enough to attack; they would encounter stiff resistance.

The Al-Burj Collapse is Accidental
http://www.worldproutassembly.org/images/9-11-A.jpg
A picture no one will ever forget. This not only shows the horrific effects of this terrible accident, but also the kindness and caring of our great nation, as well as our diversity.
ADEN, Southern Arabia
The collapse of the Al-Burj building - at the time under construction, is now officially declared unintentional. The Al-Burj building, that just rescently surpassed the Burj Dubai building in Dubai, was not a beautiful building, but still magnificent in height, and was a symbol of the 800,000 residents, and all of Southern Arabia. It proved to many steriotypes in the Western World that other nations could develop. Unfortunately, it has collapsed after a terrible accident.
"The Al-Burj incident [was] a terrible accident, and claimed the lives of almost 800 men and women. We hope that this will never happen again. We apologize to the people who told us that the building was too top-heavy, and we should have listend to you." Said a spokesperson from the Al-Burj project team.
The Al-Burj building was criticized for being top-heavy, and many scientists and architects had predicted this, and their predictions were correct. The Southern Arabian Government has now set a new standard of safety rules, and hope that this will never happen again. A beautiful Memorial park will be placed on the building site.
An Official Message from the Indian Foreign Office
The Indian Confederacy sends the deepest colondences for this horrific accident. We wish you well in the continued development of Dubai's fast growing economy to kill off the spectics who doubt the nations of the South Asia can rival them in power and technology.
Ekanga Bai,
Indian Confederacy Foreign Minister
Indra Patel looked mournfully at the coffins as they paraded past him. Thirty-three, the first lot of the dead Indians recovered at the Al-Burj crash site, were returning to India, and he was present at their passing from the Varun Patel International Airport, named in the honour of his father. He was not just sad, but quite angry at the obvious incomptence of Dubai to let this building collaspe - the loss of Indian life was devasting. So far 180 had been counted, though with the critically ill this number could go past two hundred.
But, the cold and clever leader still looked strong and supportive of Arabia. And that night, he shared a prayer for the lost ones.

Rumors of Invading Qatar and Bahrain

General Osama bin Laden, leader of the Southern Arabian Armed Forces (OOC: Since this is Alt. History, he is NOT a terrorist, or wanted. However, he is a masterful tactician)
DUBAI, Southern Arabia
Rumors of invading our neighboring island nations to the north have been circulating for almost 15 years. Now, however, there is more proof that this will become a reality. Today, General Osama bin Laden gave a press conference on the current situation of the armed forces, as they are being more present in the streets - expecially in Abu Dhabi Emirate, one of the provinces of Souther Arabia, nearest to Qatar. In the conference, he gave a few hints on an annexation of the microstates, but never directly said this statement.

South Arabian Coast Guard Troops in Training.
SOCOTRA, Southern Arabia
Today, a daring plan divised by the Southern Arabian Coast Gurad worked to near-perfection. 20 kilometers off the coast of the island of Socotra, a popular tourist's destination, a cruise ship was at sea. It was not an ordinary cruise ship, though, it was filled with Coast Gurad soldiers that have trained months for this mission - to capture the notorious Mogandishu Mauraders.
The Mongadishu Mauraders originated from the nation of Somalia, and have ravedged the seas in the area for years. 14 attacks by the Mauraders have been recorder, though many more have probably occured, and there have been 12 deaths and 87 hostages. Their quick speed boats overrun the slow cargo and cruise ships. The pirate's main way of attacking is getting on board, and shooting everyone that resists them. They are ruthless.
Today, however, once the Mauraders entered the planted cruise ship, they were greeted by 50 Coast Guard Special Forces troops, and a firefight started within the ship. 4 of the 30 mauraders were killed, but 10 escaped. The 16 men captured will be put on trial and probably get the life sentence, the leader might possibly gain the death sentence.

200 Pirates capture Cargo Boat!
http://theissue.com/images/uploaded/cache/732-width-676.jpg
A picture of the pirates taken from the survivors of the atack
SOCOTRA, Southern Arabia,
Today, a cargo boat coming from Aden to Iran-Iraq has been captured by the Mongadishu Mauraders, the violent pirates from Somalia. This is their first capture after the succesful counter-attack by the South Arabian Coast Guard. Ever since then, there have been less sightings, and more coast guard ships protecting cargo and cruise liners.
Even with two coast guard patrol boats, the Cargo ship Al-Walad did not stand a chance. 40 speed boats with 200 pirates with AK-47's and RPG's suddenly came out of the horizon. One RPG made a direct hit at one of the Coast Guard boats, and it exploded, killing all but one soldier. The pirates ten procedded to climb up the ship using ropes, and managed to break into the cockpit, where most of the Cargo Ship crew had gone in for safety. The pirates then took their prize back towards Somalia. The one remaining patrol boat, too damaged to move, waited for a reply from their distress call and were sent to safety by a rescue group.
The Pirates want a high ransom - the number is still not sent out to the public, or the invasion of Socotra.

Government Blames Pyeki for Attack
DUBAI, Southern Arabia,
Here in the conference room, Dubai, President Mustafa Khammas, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Hakhraini, and General Osama bin Laden all agreed that the nation of Pyekan-Kyougu is partially responsible for the attack of the Cargo Ship Al-Walad, the kidnapping of the 20 crew members, and the threat of capturing Socotra island.
"Pyeki is clearly giving weapons to the Mogandishu Mauraders Pirates, as they have to the Indian Confederacy's rebels. They are scared, and are using terror tactics to get us to go away." Said a spokesperson for General bin Laden."

IC – Media Report on INN
http://yalibnan.com/site/archives/2007/01/17/gen%20halutz%20resigns%201.jpg
Brigadier General Erez Zuckerman Today at a press conference commented about the increased military presence on the borders of Southern Arabia; he assured the general public that all forces were on alert but this was a planned exorcise scheduled weeks earlier. The Extended military presence is an extension of the recent mobilisation and has nothing to do with rumours of a potential invasion from the Southern Arabian republic.
SIC
General Bin Ladens speech had provoked a severe response from the empires national security directorate who had ordered all Central Security Intelligence Services to prepare for maximum readiness. Counter intelligence Section D would be increased dramatically and foreign intelligence would maintain its efforts to ascertain when the invasion might happen and gather as much critical information as they could. The National Security directorate unknown to the government even had been running a number of operations for over 40 years to curb Muslim aggression. An Invasion of Bahrain or Qatar; which was hinted at in the speech would provoke a severe response from the empire and would as far as the NSD were concerned ‘step over the line’. Part of this was because of Osama’s public stance on the empire, Jews and ‘Neo-Muslims’ as a whole a Saudi- Ex Pat, Though not a terrorists the NSD believe that he could easily have become one had history gone differently and maybe even become one of the most infamous. Publicly the government was all smiles; privately they were worried; and any invasion would be met with force.
Brigadier General Erez Zuckerman; under orders from the directorate with the exposit knowledge of the president had been ordered to mobilise forces to the southern border; for a counter invasion should the Arabs launch an attack. These forces were moved quietly and mostly unseen though the media had noticed some of the movements not so much that the General couldn’t play it off as a military exorcise. Stealthy drone Aircraft were being used at high altitude to maintain surveillance of the Bahrain and Qatar borders though still in Imperial airspace for days at a time. ORICLE-1 and ORICLE-2 were used to provide top down ‘keyhole’ surveillance from orbit with passes over Arabian lands and borders every 6 hours.

Socotra Prepares for Invasion
http://www.worldpress.org/images/20050611-yemen-soldiers.jpg
South Arabian Troops prepare for the defence of Socotra
SOCOTRA, Southern Arabia,
The Hostage exchange proved to be a disaster. In a small town 35 kilometers west of Aden, South Arabian Special Forces team went to retreive all 80 hostages, while giveng the pirates their money. It turned out to be a trap, and 5 Special Forces troops died. The money was taken by the mauraders, and there was no sign of hostages within the building. Two days later, a video came out on the internet. It stated that because the hostages were not given, they would invade Socotra. The reason for invading Socotra in unknown, but most people believe that the Mogandishu Mauraders plan to run from rival gangs, and create their own nation.
2,000 men are now stationed in Socotra. The hotel-casinos and traditional houses alike are being barricaded and machine guns are being put in their windows. Most civilians have been evacuated. The army expects 500 men, but more may come. The world now waits for the Maurader's next move.
