Two Weeks Earlier
Elendar the Light Elf had been standing on the bow of a small ship. It had once been a fishing ship but it had now been converted to carry people and supplies to a new settlement. Behind this ship, several more much larger ships sailed behind, carrying many more people and supplies. The people on board were quite the mix of characters. Light, Earth, and Fire Elves as well as humans.

Many would wonder why in the world a group of such different people were sent somewhere they had never been to and expected to cooperate. The answer was simple. Although humans and elves historically did not get along, and different types of elemental elves had been known to butt heads each had their own specific strengthens and weaknesses which would help the collective group.

It had been a foggy night when the ships landed and began offloading their cargo, at first. the people, then wagons and horses. Following this, empty wagons. The ships that had brought the supplies and people to the unknown land were then torn apart, their wooden planks loaded onto the wagons to be used later.

Present Day
For the past two weeks, the group had been living off the land. So far it had worked out very well. The people understood they had to work together and they played on each others strengthens and weaknesses. For example, Earth Elves gathered wood for fires and hunted, Fire Elves loaded and unloaded cargo, lit fires and with the help of Earth Elves, cleared a path for the wagons. Light Elves lit the way during the night and healed those that were injured. The humans led the wagons and cared for the horses, gathered berries and other plants and prepared food.

Now the group had arrived at a choice area of land. It was a large, very large meadow surrounded on two sides by forest and on one by a beautiful lake. It was a very peaceful area and many of the Light Elves felt it gave off a good magical aura. Not only that, the nearby forest could provide wood and food, the lake could also provide food and the wide meadow would allow for many buildings to be constructed.

Luckily, it was early in the day, which left plenty of time for the construction of the various buildings. Using the wood from the ships, large lodges an armory and a city hall were built. So far, things were going quite well.
