Official Prevanian Governmental Communique

As a result of the ongoing war with Alfegos, during which the PAAF (Prevanian Army Air Force) suffered unacceptable casualties with obselete aircraft, the Direktor of Prevania, Boris Berenovski, ordered the majority of PAAF aircraft to be scrapped before the end of the year. The aircraft that are being removed are:

Fighter - Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21 'Fishbed' (3500)

Ground-attack - Sukhoi Su-25 'Frogfoot' (2750)

Low-level bomber - Avro Vulcan (750)

Strategic bomber - Tupolev Tu-160 (16)

Tanker - Avro Vulcan (250)

Reconnaisance - Tupolev Tu-95 (100)

The current defence budget is about $2.5 trillion, and the government is prepared to spend up to 1 trillion over two years to buy the following aircraft:

1000 x Stealth-capable fighter - must have the capacity to

1000 x Air superiority fighter - manoeverability and speed (at least Mach 2) are essential, as is a high rate of climb

500 x STOVL strike fighter - STOVL essential (must be able to take off with just 200m of runway), must have large weapons payload, preferably small single-seater

1000 x Ground Attack - survivability and weapons payloads are the most important. It should also be capable of very low-level flight

750 x Tactical Bomber - Must be capable of ultra-low level penetration over any terrein in all weather conditions. A reasonable payload and stealth are major considerations. It also needs to be able to fly at Mach 1.

500 x Strategic Bomber - Stealth, a large payload, a high service ceiling and long range are important. Speed is not.

250 x Fast Tanker - stealth a nessecity, must have good counter-measures, cruising speed at least Mach 0.8, must be able to carry at least 40 000 litres of fuel

50 x Fast Reconnaisance - must be capable of at least Mach 1.5, stealth would be useful, a comprehensive counter-measure package is essential

50 x Reconnaisance - must have high range and service ceiling, speed is not important.

We hope to be able to use this opportunity to establish better trading relationships with other nations. The Ministry of Peace will make its final decision on Wednesday.

High Air Admiral John Donder, Minister of Peace

Human Fighter Planes For the Record.

We have a 500 Jaynx Class Fighter Craft to get rid of. They can climb up to Mach 2 Speed but struggles to go any higher. There is no stealth system installed, it requires at least 50 metres of runway to gain speed to fly, all weapons and weapons system's have being removed as we wish to keep them and it has a medium radar range which can be useful.

Jaynx Class Fighter Craft cost: 900 million USD

There may be more fighter's, bombers and tankers for sale later.

We have a 500 Jaynx Class Fighter Craft

Is this one '500 Jaynx Class Fighter Craft' or 500 'Jaynx Class Fighter Craft'?

Also, please give more details - a link to an nsdraftroom review would be nice.

OOC: I have a good tactical bomber and strat bomber. The Tac bomber is exactly what you are looking for, while the Strat bomber forgoes stealth in exchange for price, range, payload, and everything else that actually matters. Trying to add Stelf to a strat bomber is needlessly expensive and useless.

Sukhoi Su-87 Quiet Stealth Fighter Bomber

http://www.imagepup.com/up/uxQn_1209057842_Su_87_fb.jpg

Abstract

Despite advances in stealth technology, including heat dissipating engines, reflective and absorptive surfaces, and powerful electronic warfare kits, the stealth fighter-bomber is still vulnerable to two things. The Mark One eyeball, standard issue in pairs to soldiers, and the Mark One Ear SONAR system, also issued in pairs to soldiers. The Mark One eyeball is easy to defeat at supersonic velocities with sufficient camouflage, but the Mark One Ear is difficult. The Ear can hear the powerful sonic boom a supersonic aircraft can make.

Stealth Systems

Sonic booms are created when pressure waves created by the supersonic aircraft collide with each other faster than they can dissipate, producing a loud crack. Using fine tuned aerodynamics to control the pressure wave formation, the Su-87 generates far smaller shockwaves, resulting in a very quiet supersonic flight.

The key to it's silent flight is its broad distribution of lift-generating surfaces, such as the canards - the small wings near the front of the fuselage - and swept-V tail provide substantial lift, preventing the sharp, loud-boom-generating pressure change typical of larger, wider wings.

Project lead Professor Sokolov said that "It is no louder than a kite overhead."

Indeed the Su-87 shocked the generals reviewing the aircraft when it very quietly rose into the sky and broke the sound barrier. This ability means stealth aircraft no longer have to stay below the sound barrier to remain truly stealthy.

To help improve its stealth characteristics the Su-87 is also loaded with the latest stealth technology. Just below the skin are re-enterant triangles. Powerful RADAR waves that penetrate the RAM - Radar Absorbing Material - composite that makes up the body of the aircraft will become caught in these triangles and the waves will lose energy bouncing back and forth. The cockpit itself is coated with a conductive coating that bounces RADAR waves away from the transmitter.

To improve IR stealth the Su-87 has a slit based thrust vectoring engine to control the thrust and cool the thermal exhaust. The exhaust is also mixed with cool air and is cooled to the temperatures where the brightest wavelengths it radiates on are absorbed by atmospheric carbon dioxide and water vapor, dramatically reducing the infrared visibility of the exhaust plume.

Weapons Hardpoints

Finally hardpoints are all internal, with 4 internal hardpoints in two bomb bays. Usual configurations are two air to air missiles and two 500 kilogram bombs, four air to air missiles, or two air to air missiles and two three round clusters of 100 kilogram bombs.

A stealth "pod" can be installed next to the engines to provide the ability to hold an additional two internal hardpoints on the Su-87. These pods can only hold one missile or bomb (cluster) and after use, since they is one on each wing, are released simultaneously. Wingtip rail electronics are still in place for export users who can install wingtip rails for short range air to air missiles.

The stealth pod cannot be released for export but there is a kit to install a combination external hardpoint and conformal shaped bomb that does increase sound signature and RADAR signature but does not negatively impact aerodynamics and still remains stealthier than non stealth aircraft.

Avionics

The cockpit is a Kreigzimmer inspired design with a full glass cockpit, a helmet mounted HUD, a Direct to Voice system all shielded in a Faraday cage. The Su-87 is extremely user friendly and its fully integrated systems means the pilot can select his target, select his weapon and fire his weapon in as few maneuvers as possible. The pilot flies the aircraft by means of a right-hand side-stick and left-hand throttles.

Export versions lack the Direct to Voice system and more advanced avionics that are yet classified.

Sensor Suite

The Sensor Suite is a domestically built, electromagnetically shielded N108 Active/Passive Phased Array RADAR with a 400 kilometer range and the capability to track up to 64 targets and lock onto 16 of them. An electro-optical targeting system for the bomber role is also included.

The countermeasure suite is the standard WolfPack VIII now being retrofitted to Leafanistani fighters. The WolfPack VIII uses a low-energy infrared LASER combined with the N108 A/PPAR to detect incoming missiles and begin lasing. The heat seeking missile will find its seeker head lit up and will destroy the missile.

A frequency hopping RADAR jammer and decoy system is standard. (3 chaff, 3 flares)

"Fuck it! We need funds and I give a shit about all this 'we don't sell to dictatorships' rhetoric. This is a private organization too, and ideas won't pay our bills!", a nervous man said in a long winding debate on whether they should offer their air superiority fighter or not to Prevania. Apparently the predicted crisis of the MilNet have allowed them to make an exception.

CL-32 Buitre Air Superiority Fighter/Interceptor

Quick Overview

The CSAL-32 Buitre is a 5.5th generation stealth multirole fighter, where hydrogen propulsion is the frontier for 6th generation, focused on air superiority and limited point-defense interception, engineered for a balance between maneuverability and speed. It uses an unstable canard design combined with a tail-less cranked-arrow delta-wing. It's driven by the EX-140, an afterburning turbofan with fluidic nozzle vectored thrust capabilities, optimized for biofuels and benefiting from the Coandã effect for lift, and is also integrated with the VA-75 shaft-driven lift fan. For interception, it can fly with a considerably large payload, including besides a twin-barreled 20mm revolver autocannon, four to eight missiles, from which four are internally mounted and, at the expense of stealth, either two larger or four smaller ones can be externally mounted, from Python 5 electro-optical and MBDA Meteor BVRAAM to Vympel R-37 missiles. Its primary feature is a reliable build focused on ease and low cost of maintenance and re-supplying, which can be performed in less than optimal infrastructure conditions, and its capability of short take-off and landing on rough terrains, including even public roads, not restricting it to conventional airbases for operation, basic maintenance and re-supplying. It uses a passive radar as its main targeting system, and can in parallel lock on another target with its optical/infrared targeting system.

Now that you probably have been informed of its basic features, I would like to further it more.

First, as a friendly advice, I recommend you seriously to use 40mm or higher caliber anti-air autocannons or cluster guided missiles to engage airships, for these two are the most effective manners of taking them down, and we had some particular field success using the first, which are weapons of our Librecielo/MacGavin multimission effects vehicle (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?showtopic=2989), against a criminal airship in a low intensity conflict some time ago.

I believe that we might have the right choice for defending your territorial airspace. The CL-32 Buitre, developed by the AEROCON Aerospace Industries, is the standard air-superiority fighter of our military, which also has point-defense interceptor capabilities, making of it technically a multi-role, and there is a reason why, despite having so many options in the market, we have chosen to believe in its idea. For many years stealth technology was associated with prohibitive maintenance costs and incredibly expensive aircrafts. The CL-32 combines the advantages of stealth technology with the ruggedness and cost-efficiency of older aircrafts by employing new techniques on old, simple materials in its build rather than the typical weather-sensitive radar absorbing materials most stealth aircrafts are built with. Packed with a passive radar system, it can effectively detect aircrafts far away without any chance of having its radar intercepted due to its new operational method and also packs a cold-launch system which allows it to remain undetected at most occasions, even after firing, or more exactly, "dropping" a missile. Its avionics were developed with the network-centric warfare doctrine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network-centric_warfare) in mind, and allow it, through a Low Probability of Intercept(LPI) datalink, to receive by pilot request sensor feed from not only AWACS, but from any detection system in range, including satellites, Unmanned aerial vehicles, "weather" balloons and technically anything which can transmit visual or radar information to an enough distance to reach it, and to provide such information to nearby aircrafts as well, communications which can be configured by the pilot through its multiple ergonomic screens. Also, thanks to an entirely self-developed concept of airframe coupled with its own lift fan, it packs something few fighters have, as it is capable of short take-off and landing, even from rough fields. If you would like to know more technical details about the CL-32 Fighter, consult it's public knowledge database web page at:

http://www.confederacymilitary.tss/miliped...del=CSAL&page=1 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=554394)

The price is 85 millions of USD per unit for its normal version and 80 millions for its CL-32E variant, although we can negotiate discounts for larger purchases. Also, we will give your forces tactical training on the house to use the CL-32 to its best capabilities, should you wish it. The only requirement will be to sign a non-disclosure agreement, which shall be explained if you reply to this message with interest. I hope we can answer your needs. To brief its performance, its maximum speed is MACH 2.4, its rate of climb of 250 meters per second and it has a very high ceiling capacity, being able to reach as much as 28 kilometers of altitude during flight, while at the same time it also offers some decent low altitude flight capabilities. With some engineering upgrades proposed by a new test model with a modified airframe, we are about to launch a STOVL variant of the CL-32, although it will weigh more, have reduced payload, not offer the same stealth capabilities and also be about ten millions more expensive than the current ones, but if you are also interested, we will soon have the first runs of this new model as well as the conventional Short take-off and landing CL-32, which requires only 350 meters of runway or of a relatively plain open field for take-off and 300 meters for landing. We have successfully managed to take-off and land it in a wheat field, grasslands, plains with no pavemented roads and gravel and dirt roads. Thus, it could be considered a supersonic bush plane.

Thank you for your attention.

In lieu of our competitor's more expensive fighter, Sukhoi of Leafanistan, we offer the GR-15 Lightweight Stealth Fighter.

GR-15E "Obsidian" Lightweight Stealth Fighter

http://www.imagepup.com/up/NQfb_1210387083_gr_15.gif

Abstract

Large countries like Doomingsland and Automagfreek soar over the skies with impunity, swatting aside MiG-21s and F-15s like the flies they are. It's time for the small guy to strike back. Too long has the arms industry been churning out the same low priced fighters with no new development in the field. The GR-15 "Obsidian" uses the most affordable developments in stealth technology to help keep things low cost yet stealthy.

Stealth Technology

The GR-15 "Obsidian"'s shape is the first part of its stealth suite. The angled shape combined with a fat underbelly simultaneously reflects RADAR waves away from the aircraft and flatten out sonic booms, greatly reducing the loud pop as the aircraft exceeds the sound barrier by 60%. The many sharp corners and unusual juts reflect RADAR away from the aircraft.

The entire skin is coated with iron ball paint that induce an alternating magnetic field in the aircraft's skin which converts RADAR energy into heat.

Weapons Hardpoints

One internal hard point holds either two missiles or a cluster of 6 250kg bombs. On each wing, below a stealth panel there are the electronics and equipment to hook up a missile rail and there are hidden electronics for wingtip rails if the client wishes to sacrifice some of the stealth capability for a missile truck.

For backup a 23mm autocannon with 150 rounds is included for dogfighting or for strafing missions.

Avionics

The "Obsidian's" avionics system is sold in two versions.

The Export version is the standard analog version with an independent weapons management system that is retrofitted onto a regular analog cockpit.

The aircraft is flown with a center stick and left hand throttle controls and uses the Emerson AN/APQ-159 with a range of around 40km. A simple Infrared Search and Tracking System with solid state components allows tracking of stealth targets via their heat signatures. A simple GPS system allows more accurate bomb delivery when the GR-15E is used as a multirole fighter-bomber. A neutered version of the Wolfpack III electronics countermeasures suite is included along with a basic RADAR jammer and flares.
