Lord Governor Issues 'Change of Government'
In an unexpected move earlier today, Lord Governor Edmund Vermillion has 'issused' a change of government and Morrdh's first ever election.
He cited that he was stepping down from the office of Lord Governor, a title left over from the days of the Ruskkie Empire, in order to bring Morrdh up to the modern day and age. Though he did he that he was putting himself forward as canidate for Prime Minister of the Unified Republic of Morrdh.
Vermillion is quoted, "Why am I putting myself forward as a canidate? To put it simply, I was never comfortable with the idea of being selected as a successor for Lord Governor. I would have comitted to this much sooner, though I did not believe the time was right. But with the Reclamation of Morrdun now under way and the Morridane Parliament now ready to leave Fort Ragnar and return to it's rightful place, I guess now would have been the best time for an election."
"A leader elected by the Morridane people themselves is what Morrdh now needs, despite my term as Lord Governor there are many things that I believe I have left unfinished. Though the future will tell if I ever get the chance to finish them."
Other than the Lord Governor himself there are at this time two other canidates listed below;
Lord Governor Edmund Vermillion, de facto leader for the past 17 years. Took part briefly in the Reclamation as a soldier, declared unfit for duty after barely surviving a bout of influenza. Declared successor of Lord Governor James Wyatt.
Richard Clarke, Minister of Reclamation. Declared his intent of becoming Prime Minister in less than a minute of hearing the news of Vermillion's proposal.
Boris McKay, Guildmaster of the Steamfitter Guild. Keen promoter of Worker's Rights.

OOC: I'll post the thread for the actual election in about a week's time, but first I'm having a call for some more canidates. Let me know if any of you like to put forward a canidate of your own by posting here and TGing any plot ideas and/or details.
