((This is an after-election party for my nation to encounter nations I have not yet. Roleplay either your own leaders or ambassadors, either is fine. ^^))

Porthos Aranen had expected it, but he still couldn't believe it. There he was, dressed in one of the nicest suits he had ever had the pleasure to wear, his black hair with a few strand of gray combed back through the effort of a skilled hair-dresser that he wouldn't normally of had time to see. Surrounded by the lights of the dining and reception area, he couldn't believe he had just made the speech he had, even if it had been prepared for him in advance; everything was still a little too hard to fathom.

He had been voted in through heavy majority by people from all walks of life after basically being unnoticed for nearly two decades by the voting public; he had even had the vote of the former president, Nathanian Smith, who had grown far too old to maintain the post and the public love. Now he was in command of a nation of billions, a nation on the up and ever increasing in power and might. Anything he could of possibly wished for me he could have got, anything he could have imagined. At that time, however, all he wanted was time to let it all sink in. However, that time was not to be his, for now he had to do what the advisors had said would be 'meeting and greeting'. He had done that before in Kikoskriat, but never with other national leaders and never on this scale of grandoise. Tables of fine antique construction were laid out completely and totally with food of all kinds of cuisine and palettes, wines and bevages of all kinds of alcoholic strength and vintage were seemingly almost on top. He looked out of the window briefly and saw the high-rise buildings all around, the lit up skyline making him feel proud to be in such a privilaged position. Even with all the delegates and officials from other places, he still felt at home. Spotting three of the enforcer guards flanking him subtely, he remembered the potency of their shotguns and the effectiveness they had shown in dealing with the Bread Riots the previous thursday. Porthos had not understood the rioter's problem; they couldn't afford the bread so what right did they think they had to try and get it with force? They didn't have the qualifications for a godo enough job for bread - in fact, he doubted that many of them even had jobs at all - so it was their own fault. And the enforcers HAD warned them they would use lethal force if they didn't back down-

Enough of that, he thought. It wasn't the time to dwell on the week's riots. They were in a fully guarded building, there were over fifty of the best enforcers guarding the outside and twice as many on the inside, as well as one of the heavy tanks parked in the car park. They'd all be fine. Besides, some of the leaders had brought their own troops as well, so he was doubly safe. Smiling and checking his moustache was good, he walked down into the group of political leaders and delegates, with the intention to mingle.
