Aya nodded and yelled up the stairs. "Yep, I see him, hes in the middle of- HOLY SHIT!!!!! He just turned into some giant demon god thing!! Get down here!"

The demon howled in pain at being so close, and scrambled away. However, one of the older demons there took one look at him, and howled in rage. "Typhon! Have you come back to rebel against our Father?!" He roared and gave the order for the other demons to charge at Typhon, and to completely ignore the cleric.

Typhon's body turned brighter as heat waves emitted from him, distorting the area, as he began to walk towards the demons, the concrete was scared and crushed by his heat. He took a deep breathe shot out a blast of pure white heattowards a chunk of the demons charging him.

The demons in their anger completely ignored the grevious losses they sustained, rushing at whom they had been taught was one of their oldest enemies. The Imps were the first to reach him, jumping at him and using what little powers they had, while the most powerful stood back, letting the lesser demons distract if not harm him.

The imps were weak and had almost no effect, but still was painful. Typhon gritted his teeth at them, he grabbed one of them and ate him head first. He quickly flexed as hard as he could, his flaming muscles stiffend and his body turned almost white with flame, hoping to vaporize the Imps that had jumped him.

The stronger saw their chance, and those that were able, began bombarding him with anything but water and fire, for the older demon remembered well the failed attempts to quench his flames with water. So Typhon was being hit with lightning and ice and wind even a few balls of concentrated darkness from all sides, while the lesser demons kept charging, to distract him while the leaders worked their magic.

Aya watched the carnage in horror from the stairway, wondering what to make of this obviously godlike being. It made her begin to really believe that Typhon could do all those things, like create man and all that. Maybe the ruler of the universe really was a flase god.

Typhon was being hit hard, and fell through a concrete wall from a lighting blast, he shot out another beam of heat from his mouth as he landed on his back, making a loud thud sound. He roared from the pain of the demons firepower. He slashed another demon's throat with his fire claws.

Gold was walking away from the noises of demon on demon fighting. "I really don't need to deal with that right now." He continues walking through the streets, he was being less stealthy this time. He was trying to figure out what to do when a voice came through his radio, "Yo big boy, its Umbra. I saw that last battle, very nice finish, good thing you got out of there. That thing you left behind is a god, wouldn't you know it? A demonic god, I'll get some more info later. See yaz." He pause for a moment, a demonic god? There's no way I could face off against that thing in my current state. He thought to himself, another voice then came through his radio, "Cleric, we've heard a little bit about your progress. I will assume that everything is as bad as people have said and a little worse. I need you to find a place that could serve as a base of operations. If you can do that for us it would be much apprieciated, and perhaps we could supply you with some much better weapons." Gold looked around for anything that could be a temporary base. "Hmm, I'll have to keep that in mind," he muttered to himself and he continued walking.

Aya watched Typhon fall to the ground in horror. As the man walked up and was taunting him, she made her decision. She jumped at the man, and unleashed the Abyss. The man would feel his very soul wrenched from his body, and sent to a plane that had defied both demons and angels to describe it. Some angels had tried to describe it as the 'true hell'. There he would feel eternal torment, untill she decided to let him go.

Gold thought to himself, this isn't good, too many players want Eden for themselves. I know that a demonic god would definately want Eden and that cannot be allowed, nor can Satan achieve his goal of claiming Eden. Perhaps its best if Eden were not to be controlled by anyone, a strictly nuetral place that would be seperated from all the other planes. Gold looked over at Aya, "Do you need me to perform a binding seal? It wont keep him from bursting back out of you but it'll suppress his mind from influence your own." Gold put his hands together and began building up his energy.

Joshua laughed. Tal hovered in the air outside of Vegas. He had just received a report from Raul detailing the events of Vegas while he was gone. "So, why were you gone again, Tal?" "I had to attend other matters elsewhere. I set up a station to monitor a small town that has been taking over by a demon. I believe it is one of the rebellious demons, one against Lucifer." "I see" "You are dismissed" Raul spread his wings and shot through the air. Immediately, a dozen crimson streaks of light followed him. Tal chuckled and said to himself, "He just had to take some of them with him." Tal then lowered himself to the ground. He had noticed a large gathering of good, evil, and those in between in the town. He had waited for a long time for the word of the lord to tell him to go, and it was time. He sprinted into town, disguised as usual. "It is best to hide my appearance for now...."

Tal cautiously approached the area the large group of beings had met. He noticed outside there where many dead bodies, including heretics. He could sense that the people, well, things that made up this group where more powerful than him, not that that is saying much. After all, he was only a regular angel of the Lord. Granted, he was one of the best with his sword, and his brilliance on the field of war made him the only Captain that wasn't an arch-angel, but he didn't have any special power or strength like an arch-angel. Granted, it was possible he could still find his strength, but after all this time, it seemed unlikely. It had never deterred him, but at moments like now, he thought that it would be really useful to have that kind of power. "Oh well" he sighed, as he hid near the group and listened in on their conversation.

"Peace," Raphael warned all parties concerned. He turned to the Typhon/Aya hybrid, masking his disgust. "I have affairs to care of...I will return shortly." With that, and a flash of light, he was gone, leaving the familiar plumes in his wake.

Sanctuary

As the Garden was an important place for humankind, so was Sanctuary to the angelic. Raphael appeared in the middle of the Elysian Plain and began to walk towards a small child who was playing in a clear brook nearby.

Back so soon, Raphael

I need information, Uriel

As always A rippling laugh quaked the waters.

It involves a brother of a lower chior; Leara

That's a name I haven't heard in a while...

I thought he'd been destroyed during a mission

Destroyed...? No, no, no my dear Raphael. Leara is quite alive

He is? Perhaps he can help me persuade her...where can I find him

Another rippling laugh escape Uriel, and he returned to his game at the edge of the water. As the Little One. She should know

IC: La'zerra grunted. He found it damn near impossible to resist her sometimes, but this was one thing that was worth more than his life to tell. Determindly, albeit with some dissapointment, he picked her up bodily, and set her down well out of reach, and stepped back so she couldn't reach him either. "Sorry Lilith, no can do. Do you have any idea what Father would do to me?"

Lilith was caught off guard by this act, staring at him with her mouth agape. She quickly dissolved into rage, her fists and teeth clenching, stuck for words to say. She had never expected this to be easy, but to be turned down on ORDERS? This she could not accept.

"You. . . you CAN'T tell me?" she spat out, her body trembling as thoughts of popping La'zerra's (hmm, lots of apostrophes) when through her head. She fumed for a second, before a thought occured to her, bringing her demenor to a tad more relaxed state, "Or is it that you don't really know?"

She smiled, as the challenge worked its way into words. "After all, why would we be here if we knew where the Garden was?" She began to walk away from La'zerra, turning towards the window. "To delay would be foolish, there is already an army amassed, unless we are already there, however unlikely that is. God may have hid where the Garden was, but he most certainly would not have put it here." She had walked half the room, turning back towards La'zerra, firmly planting her hands on her hips, and glaring at him. "So is it that you won't tell me, or that you CAN'T tell me. . ."

They all had there faces masked, they weilded automatics and shields. There were probably 14 in all, along with another man, taller than the rest, dressed in all white with shimmering black hair. There were crosses around his neck and wrists, each one glowed with an almost ethereal light. Gold walked over to the group and began talk amongst them, new equiptment could be seen being pulled out of the chopper. IC: After meditating for some time, Theodoric arose, "It is here. It is close. Very Close." His Saintly form then arose from the ruins and headed into the War-Torn city.

As Theodoric walked he heard rusty chains clicking and hooves scuffling. These odd sounds were coming closer, until a figure came through the cloud of dust that gathered around Theodoric. A figure is as close as you can get to describing it. The figure was hunched over, had a head and torso covered in loose chains, his flesh looked and smelt like something rotting, his breathing came in painful hisses and grunts, he had three fingers (more talons than fingers) on each hand, one arm was swelled and larger than the other, he had elephant-like feet, all that was seen through the mass of chains surrounding his head was an eye and his mouth, this eye was was red with a small black pupil, and it stared with bleak hatred.

"Kalemanicz..." Theodoric uttered with disgust.

"Dedorick... My master give me a perdonal matjh vis jou. He shaw mine powerful hadred and promissed me dat I cud reep jou to peeses." Kalemaicz said with a hiss.

The initial blasts of hellish troops in the heart of Las Vegas had been quite violent, as if some infernal volcanic eruption that had ripped up concrete and steel, tossing fragments of buildings far apart. One of these piles of rubble - that had once been part of a casino complex - had landed about two miles south, crashing down on the southern edge of McCarran International Airport. The steaming, burning pile of debris stood there, like a colossus turned to rubble.

Thump.

First the sound was silent, most likely just something loosening up within the entrails of the rubble and clattering against stone.

THUMP!

Then louder, small pieces of rubble sliding down the side of a thick concrete slab, smoke billowing out from cracks.

THOOM!

Without warning, the thick slab cut in half, waves of fire burning through the crack that had appeared. The flames died out slowly, and then a new sound. Huffing, breathing... a hand grabbed the edge of the crack, pulling a figure up from the rubble. What appeared was a man, dark-haired, his skin olive-brown though covered in dust, his long coat in tatters. He coughed and spat as he pulled himself out, sliding down the ledge and hitting the concrete runway unceremoniously.

"This... will not... do...", the man croaked, trying to stand up. He shook his head, sending dust and small pieces of plaster flying through the air. He looked around himself, seeing the fires that rose from downtown, almost smelling the demonic in the air. He cursed again, leaning against the ledge as he forced himself to get up.

This wasn't right... This wasn't supposed to happen yet. Israfil had yet to blow his trumpet. The Day was not here yet... He shook his head again, his eyes catching the sight of his hand.

A sudden, terrified gasp rose from his parched lips. "No... No, it can't be...", he muttered to himself, taking a hold of his own hand, feeling the tissue, the bone, the joints and tendons. He tried to concentrate, but there was no change. No fire flowing through his veins, only blood. Human blood. He tried harder, he knew he could do this. His hand erupted in flame, wreathing his fingers in coiling yellow flares.

"That's... that's more like it", he managed to chuckle as he let the fire die out. He felt himself, patting his body all over, trying to flex his shoulder blades. Curses... Nothing there.

He tried to remember... Yes... the Gate. He had been there. It was not the time yet, not the Day. But they had been too strong for him to fight back alone, their push against the Gate too strong. The fabric of reality had been torn asunder, and he must have gotten caught in that tidal wave of infernal fury.

The man roared and kicked a large chunk of concrete at his feet - only to roar again in pain as the head-size chunk failed to budge but instead cracked something in his leg.

"Is this what You wanted?!" he yelled angrily at the sky. "Is this Your doing?! Some sick joke on Your part? Oh yes, let's make Malach more miserable!"

It roared in pain at the deep gash in its back, but it continued to charge him. Tal attempted to fly over the beast again, but it anticipated the move and threw a piece of rubble it had grabbed at him. Tal managed to dodge it for the most part, but it clipped his side and his wing, sending him spiraling to the ground. He recovered quickly, but knew it would be futile to attempt to fly again with his wing damaged. Suddenly, Tal realized he had lost track of Theodoric. It took a good while for Malach to calm himself down again. As he washed his face clean from grime in a small puddle, he contemplated on his situation. His existence as the Gatekeeper had suddenly taken a most terrible turn: it had been his duty to stand guard at the Gate, and make sure that Lucifer and his legions were kept in Hell until the Day of Reckoning. It was his duty, his penance for rebelling against Him, and he had failed at it miserably. He looked up to the burning cityscape and cursed to himself. This was not supposed to happen, not yet...

Sighing, Malach the Gatekeeper turned his gaze back to the puddle of dark water before him. He could hardly recognize himself as a human. His wings were gone, his flesh bore this disgusting brownish shade, and he constantly felt like a wineskin filled with mud and stuck on two rickety sticks. He had not had the privilege of visiting the mortal world since Lucifer's rebellion, and getting used to this new and feeble form would certainly take its time.

Time he did not have...

Cursing, Malach got back on his feet and continued towards the terminal he saw in the distance. The carcasses of airplanes - some ripped into pieces like thin cardboard - littered the runways, and he used those to remain unseen from any possible eyes that might be watching. He needed a plan, and quickly. The demons had definitely formed a stronghold here, that was clear... but where were the angels? Where was the celestial host that was supposed to make sure that this incursion would not go unpunished? Or had God decided to turn his back on this particular patch of His own creation?

There is an old saying that whenever God closes a door, He opens a window. For Malach, this old proverb became reality when combing through the thrashed international airport he found a corpse of a police officer, and relieved the man of his sidearm and bullets. He looked around carefully, knowing that whatever had killed the officer - by ripping his throat out - might still be around.

Strange weapons they make these days, Malach mused as he felt the handle of the pistol in his hand, weighing it. This gun lacked the finesse of the blackpowder guns he had seen not half a millennium earlier. Nor would this weapon be of any use once it ran out of ammunition - something that Malach was not happy about.

Suddenly he stiffened, turning on his heels just as a sneaking hellhound leaped on his, jaws open, claws reaching for vulnerable flesh. Instinctively Malach tried to protect his head with his arms, roaring in pain as the beast's canines sank into his arm. Rolling on his back, he threw the snarling hellbeast off, its bulk smashing into a line of chairs, felling them on the terminal floor.

As the beast tried to get back its bearings, Malach cursed and looked at his arm. He could already see the wounds slowly healing, but the pain was still more intense he could have imagined. Cursing he pulled out the gun he had just appropriated, and fired. The bullets hit the hellhound's thick skull, making it yelp and slow down, but not fall. Six rounds later Malach heard only the 'tick' of an empty gun, discarding it just as the beast attacked again. He managed to grab the beast's jaws, keeping it from biting his head off, but the muscular monster's claws shred his clothing and flesh. Roaring in agony, Malach gathered whatever power he could, and 'fed' his fist into the beast's throat. The hellhound coughed, choked by the fist and arm in its mouth and throat when Malach released his fiery powers. The expression on the hellhound's face could only be taken for surprise as Malach scorched and cooked the beast's insides with fire. The beast howled with muffled sound, finally falling dead on top of the olive-brown man.

Malach breathed heavily, his arm still deep in the dead beast's throat, its heavy body pinning him down. He was in pain, and he could feel his blood oozing on the cold ground.

It was then he heard the howling. More hellhounds... not far. And they were smelling blood...

Aya, the real Aya, finally gathered enough of herself to fight Typhon down. She was absolutely furious, that the demon had tried to use her body. Oblivious to everone else around her, she yelled aloud, "Don't EVER, do that again. If you ever try something like this again, I swear I'll make this body a living hell for you to be in. And not the kind your used to either. It'll make the hell you were in before seem like a fucking amusement park!!"

Aozora, finally unable to control herself, began laughing uncontrollably, and fell down and began rolling around on the floor. He was fully aware that most people thought he had a twisted sense of humor, and that this should most definetly NOT be funny, but he didn't think the girl had any idea how ridiculous she looked and sounded, sitting there screaming at herself like that.

Without the modesty of the first visit, Raphael appeared in the hotel room in a blizzard of plumage. Without bothering with formalities, he headed straight for Aya/Typhon.

"I must speak with Aya," he said courteously. He changed his tone, as if addressing Aya, "It concerns your father."

She should know

ooc: since u gave me permission to make up leara's story, i decided to do that, since i am still kinda lost/catching up.

"So is it that you won't tell me, or that you CAN'T tell me. . ."

OOC: To Raphael, go ahead, feel free to do whatever you wish.

IC: La'Zerra grinned. "As observant as ever, Lilith. Hoewver, you seem to have it wrong. You see, its not a matter of where the Garden is, but whom. We have decideed that it would have been far to easy for Him to simply hide the Garden. Whats the use? Humans would find it eventually, breeding like rats as they do. So, he had to put it in someone noone would ever look. Now, the only problem is finding said someone."

Keep running... Keep running... Just a little more... Must find a safe spot... Must rest...

Malach cursed this human body of his as he half-ran, half-limped down the terminal corridor, the baying of the hellhounds coming ever closer. He was bleeding badly, more than his still essentially-angelic powers could take. And this body, this God-cursed lump of flesh that had become his prison... He could barely move in it, it was an alien form for him, not the manifestation of his true self.

Breathing heavily, tasting the coppery flavour of blood in his mouth, Malach noticed a crashed service elevator, the heavy door still hanging open.

Yes, that will do...

Limping inside, the Gatekeeper grabbed the handle of the door, and with a Herculean effort managed to unjam it, pulling it shut. He breathed heavily, slamming his hand against the juncture of the door and frame, feeding fire into it, burning the lock tightly shut. He could hear the hellhounds baying outside, anger rising in their howls when they realized their prey had eluded them. Their claws scraped futilely at the thick doors and walls, they tried to push the doors open in vain.

Malach laughed, a joyless, insane laugh as he teetered on the brink of passing out. He fell on the floor, crawling into a corner, to sleep, to heal... He needed time for his wounds to draw themselves shut again. He dreamed...

Ancient times...

...before the humans arose fully on their feet...

...the war in Heaven...

...Lucifer the Light-Bearer declaring himself superior over his kin, the archangels.

His lieutenants, Mammon and Belzebub hailing him, rallying a large number of the angels on his side...

...The war, the terrible war in which angelic blood flowed freely, tarnishing the clouds and the earth.

...The approaching defeat...

...How he, Malach, one of Lucifer's officers, turned against his commander...

...How he came groveling back to the Throne and Michael...

...How he watched his former brethren cast into the Abyss.

And how he himself had to leave Heaven behind, to guard the Gates of Hell until the time...

The Day of Reckoning, the End of the World, when Israfil would blow his trumpet and herald in the final war...

Malach shivered in his slumber, tormented by these memories, his fingers clawing at the unforgiving metal, his blood and sweat flowing freely...

Cast out of Heaven, not permitted in Hell...

Tal was an experienced veteran of the Heavenly Host. He had been in countless battles, and so he was not entirely surprised when the ground began to shake. It was how demons came directly from hell to earth through a rift. However, when the head of a behemoth appeared, he was in complete shock. No, it cannot be.Tal had seen this creature once before. It was a massive demon, ten stories tall. It had the strength of one-hundred demons. That, and it was as fast as any other demon, made it the most powerful being Tal had ever fought. But Guildo killed that thing he thought. Guildo had sacrificed himself and single handedly traded blows with it, killing the both of them. How could it come back? Then, Tal suddenly realized, when two more behemoth heads appeared. There's more than one. For the first time he could remember, Tal had no idea what to do next. He was frozen stiff. He had faced countless battles and won every single time. He might have beaten a single behemoth on his own, and an archangel could stand a chance against two, but three? For the first time, Tal was doubtful he could win.

Lilith smiled, walking towards the large broken window as La'Zerra gave orders out. It would be easier than she thought. After all, she was a professional soul stealer, if the Garden was hidden in one of these three, and if they happened to be male. . .
She spun on a heal back towards La'Zerra, clasping her hands behind her back, as she shot him a huge smile. "I'm am quite ecstatic that you shared these facts with me. After all, finding something that had been so well hidden is not easy. . . unless someone else does all of the hard work." She laughed, backing towards the window. And at that, she stepped out of the window, and took off.
Lilith now knew roughly where to start looking. She had no doubt that La'Zerra may have lied, but, it was a place to start looking. Especially if the Akazha were after them, she would now just need to keep an eye out and find out who they were after. Not to much of a challenge when so many of your children are amongst the ranks. She chuckled to herself, it had been a long time since she had been so excited. She would find the Garden first, and finally could end her curse.

Malach awoke from his dark slumber, his eyes opening once more. How long had he slept? Minutes? Hours? Days? Or even years? Time had no meaning for him, and with a grimace he stood up again, feeling the tattered remains of his shirt, the long gashes in his coat. The blood was still wet, but the skin and flesh underneath the tattered garments had healed. Still, the hellhounds might follow the scent of blood.

Here's hoping the mortals of this age aren't prudish, the Gatekeeper mused to himself as he removed his shirt and wiped the blood away from the leather jacket. He then donned the garment again, casting the shredded shirt aside. At least the leather might offer him some protection...

Silently the Gatekeeper pressed his ear against the door, listening. The baying of the hounds had ceased... he must have had slumbered a good while, so that even the hounds lost interest in him. But that was the problem... He heard nothing. No movement. No sound of trumpets, no cries of agony, either demonic or angelic.

"Where are you now, Michael?" he muttered, chuckling joylessly. "Has the Almighty finally grown weary of His creation and given Lucifer free reign over the mortal realm?"

Silence yourself, you fool! a voice inside him chimed. Yes... despite what he had become, Malach was still an angel at heart, and casting such dubt on the Creator was closest he could get to physical pain in his angelic form. In his human form, he only had his conscience to remind him of the Almighty.

Malach listened for a moment longer, making sure that the hellhounds had truly left, before he began working on the welded seam again. He pressed his hand against the melt-shut metal, starting to heat it up again, coughing as smoke burnt his lungs.

As he burnt the door slowly open, he had time to concentrate on other problems. He had not felt an angelic presence yet. Had his doubts been true? Had God not send a host to deal with this untimely uprising? Surely He would not take kindly such an uprising... and what were His plans for him? Malach sighed. He had failed in his duty to hold the Gate... and if he knew anything about Michael, that pompous ass would just jump at the chance to carve him up for that failure. Gabriel and Raphael might not be too keen on seeing him either... Uriel even less so.

Stop thinking about it, you idiot! he cursed at himself. He had more important issues to take care of at the moment... First of them being trying to find some sort of hallowed ground, if possible. There should be a church somewhere... or even a chapel. Any place where he could rest for a moment, and get his bearings on the situation...
