Zinaire Shaken by Pirate Attack
ZINAIRE CITY– Early this morning, the group of pirates that have recently been terrorizing Zinaire and other islands of the Caribbean conducted their most daring raid yet. The Zinairian cruise liner Island Jewel was robbed at gunpoint by approximately fifty pirates who, according to one frightened passenger, "came right up to the ship in speedboats." This has been the largest-scale of nearly a dozen pirate attacks that have taken place in the region over the last several months.
A red-faced Minister of Defense apologized to those affected by the incident. He went on to say that "the Zinairian Navy's got the manpower, it's got the ships, what it doesn't have is a clue what to do with them. This attack has shown that thousands of seamen bobbing around helplessly in even the biggest ships aren't going to deter pirates. What was our first hint? When pirates robbed a Navy frigate. It's pretty obvious that we need outside help, so consider this my call to the international world, asking for help establishing a counter-piracy division in our navy."
Frightened citizen Marly Harris underscored the minister's plea, "Quite frankly, I'm p***ing myself. I mean, if these guys are robbing cruise ships, how long before they just pull right up the the island and rob us? I mean, Zinaire's not much more than a giant cruise ship."
At the request of our CEO, Michael DeLacey who would very much like to spend a day on his yacht, ZNN would like to urge all nations with an established navy to assist Zinaire in the formation of one. The first nation to pledge their support will win a ZNN coffee mug and mouse pad*.
